I would have to go with the Blacktail in RE4. I have all the stats to max so..yea at one point it was pretty powerful but then I maxed up my riot gun now thats pretty powertful. I usually loved the shotguns and gernade launchers in all the RE games but RE4 proved to me that the handgun can be a powerful asset when low on ammo for other weapons.

Thats pretty much any weapon in RE depending on where you hit the enemies.

RE1: Shotgun (Of course, it's a universal weapon.)
RE2: Leon's Shotgun, and the SMG.
RE3: Assault Rifle. (Something about insane with a rapid fire weapon like an AR that makes me feel like a crazy gunner on the loose.
RE4: Chicago Typewriter. (Even if it didn't have infinite ammo, I'd still use it. Just the feeling of the SMG. I love SMG's... Can't you tell?)
RE Outbreak: Sledgehammer (Concrete + Pipe)
RE Outbreak 2: SMG, yet again. Or a good ol' AR as always.
And if I missed any games, it's because I'm retarded, or haven't played them. Like, RE Gaiden, or RE0 (Haven't played either of them.)

From any reg RE game, the Magnum is my personal faveorite, but when it comes to RE4, nothing is more helpful then Your Knife, and the loveable shotgun (In any of it's stages).
I also need to say that the Sniper Rifle dosen't hurt either, most of all when it's the Semi-Auot with a Garrador.
And last but not least, who can turn away the Chicago Typewriter?

However, despite my love for TMP's, AR's, and any Machine Gun... THIS takes the cake any day.
