Sensei! *rises hand* I would like to join xD
Okay my Japanese study has so far led me to this:
♥Almost [not really] half hiragana
♥About 15 kanji
♥A fair amount of words and some basic phrases
♥Just a little bit of grammer
♥Numbers from 1 to 100, days and months [how to write the date xD]
...
My biggest problem right now is learning Hiragana ... for some reason it's harder for me than Kanji ... I started learning it using these lessons as in trying to remember the characters by combining them in words and placing them in small groups but it's still pretty hard.

I've been learning about Japanese grammar, so I know some. I know a few words and phrases, but not enough to carry a conversation xD I haven't learned kanji or hiragana/katakana sweatdrop

Would like to find a way to step up my game. I have some experience, and I am confident with the basic forms, greetings. I want to expand my forms and also learn some new cultural/manners. as well as general vocab. I spec in Kanji.

I want to learn about Japanese. I know basic grammar (REALLY basic) and very few kanji (i think it's Katakanna, but I don't know. My friend thought the alphabets were Kanji and Hirigana, so you can see how my letters might get messed up >.<). I also know a couple of words, enough to make a few sentences, but not that many verbs.

If you want to work on your hiragana and katakana, I would suggest a couple of computer games: Anki and Kana Invaders. Anki is a free program that works as a flash card system. Kana Invaders is a Space Invaders version for learning katakana and hiragana.

Anki: http://ankisrs.net/
Anki Tutorial: http://livingjapanese.blogspot.jp/2011/07/learn-kana-with-anki.html
Kana Invaders Tutorial: http://www.jamaipanese.com/kana-invaders-flash-game/

I learned hiragana in a month and you can learn just by using monikers and things of that sort. I learned katakana in two months because I personally think they look like sticks, so it didn't stick at first. But whatever kana you like the best, you'll probably learn the fastest, especially when you're consistent.

Some kana to be careful about:
HIRAGANA
waわ reれ neね
ruる roろ
meめ nuぬ

KATAKANA
suス nuヌ taタ
haハ ruル
waワ kuク
tsuツ shiシ (In "shi", the long line starts from the bottom up, like making a check. "Tsu" goes from the top to bottom.)
nン soソ (In "n", the long line starts from the bottom up, like making a check. "So" goes from the top to bottom.)

There are some kana that are similar:
hiragana ki きkatakana kiキ
hiragana kaか katakana kaカ
hiragana yaや katakana yaヤ
hiragana seせ katakana seセ

Most of my students (I live and work in Japan) learned kana by writing it over and over. I would suggest to do the same and to practice.

Ok, to be very honest, all I want to know what IS THIS: ハ
What is that?! Can't find it anywhere scream stressed
Please and thank you!! heart
To sensei,
I know almost all the hiragana (about half by heart), some katakana, some kanji (also I know proper stroke order for the ones I know). Grammar is practically non-existent, so I guess I need conversational help? I can manage more on the kana by myself, I just don't know what the above mentioned is (quote me the answer to my burning question! ありがとう! 4laugh ).

Thank you! For some reason, it looks different on print/web than on a katakana list, well at least it did to me. I was trying to read out some kana from some books I have and I freaked out when I couldn't find it sweatdrop
