M I M I x M A R C E L
"Stop screwing around and teach me something already!" "If he was going to be out so long he should go pick up some groceries, instead of bringing home trouble." Frowning, Mimi picked up the book she'd been reading with the pages missing, placing it back onto the already dangerously wobbling stack where it had come from.
"I've gotten used to the trouble." The witch admitted quietly, backing up slowly just to makes sure the books would stay where they were. "And let's be honest, we both know Cayle won't ever bring home groceries. But I just worry sometimes that he isn't going to come back; only a feeling, I guess." It was true that he teacher wasn't the most attentive of people, and yes, he tended to back away from any sort of confrontation even if he had been the one to start it, but there would be those times where the brown haired wizard wouldn't come back for weeks on end. And then there was that black colored portal, the one that nobody else but Cayler got to use. Hearing a knock at the door, Mimi jumped slightly, grabbing the nearest hooded cloak she could find. "Anyway.." She continued. "If Cayle isn't home by tonight then I'll go out and get us something to eat just to be on the safe side." Lacing up the cloak to her chin while pulling up the hood, Mimi's hands trembled as she approached the multi colored door. She still had a lot to learn, mostly about which doors were for which colors.
"Um...kingsburry?" She muttured, unsure of herself until turning the color swatch down and opening the door, where an older man stood. Thankfully she'd been right this time. Probably from the palace; Cayler was always getting visits from officials. "Sorry, the master is away at the moment. I'll be happy to take whatever letters you have for him."
That sounds good; and then Cayler can pick her up and bring her home, or she can find her way to the castle while Cayler is gone. Whichever works best.

The raven haired witch quick stepped back, her cat still perched up on her shoulder and whom glowered at her a bit. "Don't forget what I've told you to do." She smiled, and fluttered back, a quick witch who had just placed two curses upon her. "Be a good pet now, I shall see you soon."
Seconds had passed, which seemed like minutes, but they fleeted as did the witch. When she was gone Kari finally stood up, her legs feeling odd and untrue to the rest of her body. She lifted her arms and scanned them, everything seemed normal, the only odd thing was her beating heart and how it beat so quickly.
With wobbly legs she continued to walk, her head dizzy and sluggish now. Kari couldn't figure out what she was doing before she met the girl. Each step felt heavy and unlike her own, but she didn't want to stop walking and her feet just led themselves. Kari's dress slightly fell, the shoulder strap going down. A few times she had picked it back up, placing it on her bare shoulder. She grabbed her dress again, balling it in her fists but it was a few moments before she noticed that her hands were grabbing the hem where the seamstress had sown the torso into the skirt.
Kari looked down, seeing the bottom of her ensemble reaching her ankles instead of usually falling at her calf. Her straps slumped on her again and this time her stomach became a tight whirlpool. By this time she was close to her home, even if she didn't realize it. There were other homes near hers, but due to the witch and wizard, were uninhabited and boarded up. She had walked over to one home, the closest one near her and looked into the dirty window glass.
What she saw had shocked her, her body was now tiny and not at all her usual size. "I'm five," Kari placed her hands onto her cheeks, her fingertips pressing into them a bit while she looked at the transparent image in front of her. Her body was now small and the dress appeared too large, it hung overwhelmingly on her body; swallowing her up.
Kari's eyes blinked, and before she knew it she had shrunk another inch or two. Her intake of breath was short and quick, and suddenly she knew where she needed to go. Kari's thin hands left her face and grabbed her frock, lifting it up so she could run. She dodged down corners, went through tight spots, to go to her home. Each step of her shoes sounded loud and echoing, and it made her feel alone, as if she was the only one in the world and no one knew of her crisis. Kari could see her house, just a few feet away and she made her strides longer, pushing forward more to call for help. Her dress drowned her more, straps continuing to lower themselves while her waist grew thinner.
And when she pushed through the door she fell. Her head smacked against the floor, the door hitting the wall behind it. Inside the lights weren't on and now her body seemed incredibly small, the table looked like a large looming monster, the couch grew foreboding. "Hello?" She picked herself up, her dress was so large now that she slipped out of it and walked around her own empty home. "Mom? Mom! Help, ther-there's something wrong!" Kari made her way past her living room, going down the hallway that led to their separate bedrooms. "Mom! Mom!" Her voice grew more panicked, and she squeezed between the area of her mothers door and the frame.
Kari's head looked around the room, everything was three times her size; gigantic. She passed her mother's long mirror and stopped, looking at herself. And for a moment it was hard to register what was in the reflection. She blinked and it blinked, her mouth became slightly open, and it's mouth became slightly open.
A small kitten, gray and meek, was in her mothers room. "I'm not five, I'm-I'm a cat." Kari backed up, starring at her paws in the reflection of the mirror till she finally looked down and stared at them. It was true, she grew fur, and no longer had thumbs. It was at this moment that she stopped and sat, her hind legs poking up front. For a second she looked at her body and then she stood up again, her heart beating with an emotion other than fear.
Kari let her cat legs carry her out of the house.

"Who says you're not STAR POTENTIAL? Who says you're not PRESIDENTIAL? Who say you can't be in in MOVIES?
CAYLER KAVERN The onset of evening found Cayler in quite the pleasant mood; he'd gotten some compliments from those girls to boost his already swelled ego just a little bit, and found an armful of magic books and references (where he'd gotten them, one couldn't have said). Most of them were fairly advanced and complicated, but a few were for his apprentice as an afterthought and they were easy enough to carry after some quick gestures turned them all pocket sized for the trip back. But even despite these circumstances the wizard found it hard to fully enjoy himself. Mostly because there were a number of blackened, vaguely human shaped globs slinking along behind him, trying to be inconspicuous though not doing a very good job of it.
"Why can't the witch of the waste bother someonee less attractive..?" Cayler sighed as he took a quick turn around another corner, usking his magic to effectively block up the entrnace he'd just come through. The wizard had, over the years, developed an interesting relationship with the witch, but not exactly a good or a convinient one, so he'd have to find an escape route quickly. It was in his pondering that he almost didn't notice the cat in front of him until he'd nearly stepped on it. "Hm..." Regarding the creature with curiousity, Cayler stepped around it. "You'd best be headed off to your destination quickly, my feline friend." He advised. "Storms are brewing tonight." Who says you can't pass the TEST? Who says you can't be the BEST?"

She thought of the witch who cursed her and who described her as a pawn, her life was a joke and it had been reduced to something non-human.
She looked around, the world she was used to looked so different through a cat's eyes. Her ears twitched and she looked up, seeing someone irregular to the town. Kari's tiny mouth opened slightly, and the rage she had for the witch had flew out of her. The fur along her spine had risen up and her back became hunched as she stood before him. She couldn't help but feel so hostile, even if she didn't know him. Her heart beat a bit, angered and nervous. Her decision as to what to do was unknown, and all she could think about was the witch who had told her to go search for the wizard.

___ Oz sunk himself deeper into his chair, too lazy to make himself look busy or like he was just someone in the background. So he pressed his spine into the chair more and huffed out a breath of air. One thing he didn't particularly like was too many people, it made him nervous and unsure of himself; how was he supposed to handle it all? That was the only perk of being locked in a castle, no knight dare entered to rescue a princess like him.
His eye's twitched back and forth, looking from one side of the room to the other. All that filled his mind was sleep and food, and maybe to stand up and get the castle moving again before Cayler came back.

"Stop screwing around and teach me something already!" Feeling a tingle run from the tips of her toes all the way through the rest of her body, Mimi rubbed her arms, absolutely hating that feeling. Cayler had taught her to recognize familliar magical energies when they were approaching, and one as grand and overdone as this one could only mean one thing. "Cayle's coming back." She told the fire. "I estimate you have about ten minutes give or take before he's on the back step." Estimating was always hard with Cayler though since he got far too easilly distracted. Pulling off the cloak she'd been wearing to smooth down her long dark hair, Mimi placed the letters on the nearby table, making a note to ask Cayler to make some dinner when he got back; she was pretty hungry since it was about time for supper now,and a hot meal would do good since some areas of the castle got pretty drafty from time to time. As an afterthought the witch headed upstairs to the balcony, making sure she had the appropriate door color down just so Cayler wouldn't have to turn it himself when he got back.
"Maybe he's fighting the witch of the waste...?" Mimi murmured to herself; it was certainly possible, what with how often the woman was trying to find Cayle's castle, though for what reasons she wasn't really sure. Well, the reason not factoring in, Mimi believed one hundred percent in her teacher, and was fully confident he wouldn't let anything bad happen to the castle. He was far too vain and proud for that to occur. "Still, he should really hurry home..." Mimi noted quietly, straining her vision to see if she could find the brown haired wizard before he got to the castle.

"Who says you're not STAR POTENTIAL? Who says you're not PRESIDENTIAL? Who say you can't be in in MOVIES?
CAYLER KAVERN Arching a brow, Cayler watched with mild amusement as the animal before him puffed up and started hissing at him. "Well fine then; let this be the last time I ever give any creature advice." He declared, not knowing that in about twenty minutes once he got back home he'd have forgotten all about this encounter. "But I still stand by what I say; you should really find yourself off the streets eventually..." Trailing off, Cayler's eyes flashed as he noted the bubbling over of dark goo seeping out of the corners of his makeshift wall; soon enough they were all slinking towards him again, in a form reminiscant of the witch of the waste.
"And now, time to be on my way." Turning sharply on his heel, the wizard broke into a smooth run, darting around the next corner, then effectively running up the side of the wall to perch on the nearest roof of the closest building. It would be far more effective to get home by air then the ground where there were more places the witch's henchmen could follow him. "Mm...oh, a bakery. Perhaps I should stop in and get something for when I come back. Fire's probably hungry by now.." Cayler murmured before taking off across the rooftops laid out in front of his like a perfect roadmap back to the castle. Who says you can't pass the TEST? Who says you can't be the BEST?"

___ A hand flew up under his chin, holding his head up while he continued to sit in the chair. "He'll be fine, he's a big boy." Oz realized that his voice sounded more uncaring than scolding, how he wanted it to be intended, but he did have a bit of resentment torment toward Cayler. It was an unbalanced relationship for him, they'd been together for so long that he got used to his ways - almost - and became mellow, but there was still that small flame that was lit inside him; and sometimes it started to burn bright.
Oz's eyes looked toward the apprentance and then flickered back to the stove area, "Besides, Cayler doesn't fight, he runs away and brings the trouble back to us." Oz sighed and finally stood up, the chair he once sat in pushed back forcefully as he started his grumbling irritated phase again.

"Stop screwing around and teach me something already!" "He'll be fine, he's a big boy." At this comment, Mimi frowned; how could he dislike Cayler? Sure, the wizard was a bit cowardly and appearance concerned, and he got into a lot of trouble, but Mimi owed him almost everything; the day when he had come to take her on as an apprentice and freed her from her horrible living conditions...it had been almost, in some way, like a screwed up fairytale. Hearing from all the way upstairs about ten minutes later the distinctive click of the multi colored door, Mimi flew back down to the main room to see her teacher looking a bit worse for wear, positviely dripping with unpleasant looking black goo.
"You look gross, Cayle." Mimi commented, though she was obviously concerned for his well being. "Do I get to know what happened, or are we playing 20 questions?" Cayler smiled wearilly at her, less then half of his usual pompous dramaticism on display. That in itself was a big deal, the young witch noted to her herself, though she was fully alert to hear his response.
"Ah, it's nothing terribly important or worth mentioning; the witch of the waste seems to be getting much closer though, as you can see from all this." Emphasizing the globs of black in his hair, which didn't seem to be coming out very easilly, Cayler patted his apprentice on the head with his clean hand before travelling upstairs. "Oz, start some water for a bath, would you? I brought dinner home; we'll eat after that."
