"What are you?" Avery asked quickly. She'd lived in the lighthouse her whole life and she'd swam the waters her whole life and she'd never seen anything like him except in fairy tales.

Laru shrugged to her, not sure what he was to say here, "I do... Not know." He said to her timidly. His eyes were wide and cuirios as he watched her.

Avery was amazed and she looked around. "I didn't think mermen were real..." Avery said. She wasn't sure what to call him since he didn't even know or so he said. "What's your name?" She asked quickly treading water.

"Laru." He said softly. He had named himself some years ago, just to feel as if he was somehow human, "What is yours?" He asked her gently.

"Avery." She said gently. She was completely amazed she was having this conversation. "I've lived her my whole life and i've never seen anything like you before..." She added before climbing back into her boat but still watching him.

Laru grabbed her hand, wanting her to come back into the water, "Come back, let the water fill up your lungs." He enticed sincerly. Her skin felt so warm to him.

Avery was slightly startled by him grabbing her hand and she looked at him with calm eyes. "But i'll drowned." She said softly.

Laru frowned slightly at her, "What is wrong with drowning?" He asked, "Becoming one with water... Its beautifull realy."

Avery looked at him closely. "Not being able to have the air fill my lungs." She said gently. "The water is beautiful, and I can become one with the water without letting it fill my lungs." She said gently standing up and dove back in.

Laru followed after her, seeing how well she could fair in the water. He circled around her, watching her every movement.

Avery swam okay, she'd grown up with the water just in her life. She swam a little ways before just treading under the water. She watched him blinking a couple times as as bubbles rose from her nose.

Laru swam under her, watching her closely. She was doing very well, for a human. It wasnt like most humans he saw in the watter.

Avery smiled and then started swimming towards the surface. She felt the need oxygen coming and needed to get to the surface, she'd gone a bit deep so she didn't want to rise faster than her bubbles just to play it on the safe side.

Laru smiled as he followed after her, wanting to speak to her even more now. He pressed his face onto the surface, thinking over waht he might say next.

Avery was breathing deeply when she reached the surface and she pushed hair out of her face. "Well?" Avery asked.
