T O N I G H T  Shizuo and Tom split up shortly after their conference as he had some other things to do leaving the blonde alone again. He stood in the center of town practically not far from Sam, and bored again as they didn't have anything else to do that day. What that meant for him to do though, he had no idea. Celty was probably doing something with Shinra, and Dollars? He had no clue where they were, so, another lazy boring day. At least it was sunny out.
He walked through the streets quietly looking for something to eat as he had a few dollars in his pocket he could use to buy some food, some ice cream hopefully as it was one of his top favorites. There was a good shop just down from Sam's so that would be good to top off the day as a beneficial day as they didn't get their money. So, he walked to the shop and was in and out in a few minutes not really taking much time to talk to the people there as he didn't talk to a lot of people, but at least they weren't terrified of him. He took the chocolate crust ice cream popsicle type thing and bit off the outside of it allowing him to get to the vanilla ice cream. He smiled happily at the taste loving it.
He looked around before he stopped looking at Ruri as he stood there mouth over part of the bar just looking confused. Wasn't she suppose to be at work. "Aren't you suppose to be working?" he asked taking it out of his mouth pulling off his sunglasses and putting them down his vest. "Did you get your money back?" he asked walking up to her bitting another piece out of his treat. He chewed on it quietly not being aggressive or moving closer to her letting her run if she wanted to. Most people did as they all thought he just liked going and beating people up all the time.

Ruri stopped and turned to her side, her focus gaining on the guy who approached her. "Oh, um, I am no longer needed for the day." Her head tilted down a bit, hand going up to scratch the side of her head. Ruri examined his wears and understood why Yukiko called him a waiter. Suddenly she felt embarrassed, her heart thunking in her chest as it tried to rip itself away from someone as stupid and foolish as her. "Y-Yes!" Her lips were straight, until one corner turned downward in discomfort at her sudden embarrassment. Ruri swallowed and looked away, waving her hand in between them back and forth like a big windshield wiper. "Thank you! Thank you!"
Her eyes had been focused on the edge of a lamppost, anything but him. How stupid he must have thought of her, someone acting so rushed. But she stopped once something tweaked in her brain, the plaza had seemed to get a bit empty; where the gangs around? Ruri turned her head back in the other direction, twisting her back to look behind her, and finally looking past the tall waiter. Only a few people were in the same vicinity, when it had been a bit more full just minutes ago.
She stood on her toes, peering back behind him looking into the shop he came from, and the neighboring liquor store. But no one wearing primary colors could be seen, they all seemed normal to her.
Ruri's feet went back flat, parallel to the ground before looking back at him. "Oh! Um, my name is Ruri Izumi." Ruri's spine curved as she bent down, her hair pushing forward from behind her shoulders to cover her face. "Thank you for being kind to me." She stood back up, her hands moving from her knees - when she bowed - to her thighs as she now stood.

T O N I G H T Shizuo looked over his shoulder swallowing another hunk of cold ice cream that made him shutter from a quick brain freeze. He turned his attention back to her upon her introduction. He smiled a little bit but not much. "Shizuo Heiwajima, and your welcome," he said with a good temper not seeing a reason why not to have one. She was being nice, he was being nice back. That's how it worked.
Though, it seemed something else was on her mind at the second. She kept acting like she was looking for someone else or waiting for someone else. It was very odd and it made him a little jumpy and on edge as he made his way to the woodden center of his treat. He nibbled at his chocolate crust finding it kind of an awkward moment now as he didn't talk a lot to people and didn't know her. If this kept up, he would just go home and take a nap. That's what he always did.
He looked around for a gang again assuming that's what she was doing but then when he saw nothing, he just shrugged it off letting himself relax again.

Ruri stood there for a moment, not looking at him, but through him. "Oh, I see." She didn't realize herself, that what she said didn't make too much sense, but her thoughts were elsewhere.
"Well, do you get it? Do you understand? Here, I'll give you my phone number, when the situation is right just call me and I'll take it from there. Hey, don't give me that look. It's fair right? His life for yours, listen I'll even pay you."
"H-How much?"
"Haha! What a thing to say, are you going to take me up on my offer then? Let's see, when the deal is done, then maybe 5, does that sound fair?"
"For a guy like him? What's he done?"
"I need to do this to become the best, that's all. Hey, you better call me in the right situation. I'll always have people watching, and I'll go in when the time is right, alright?"
"Oh, sorry." Once again Ruri bowed, realizing that she had taken the awkward tension they had to a new level. "Um, please allow me to make it up to you. Do you like sweets? To make us even I'll treat you, alright? Anytime you want you could come to my work and I'll give you a treat on the house."
Ruri cringed a bit, feeling even more awkward, as if she was adding to it being the only one talking. "That is if you want to."

Honestly, it put him on edge a little bit. Her just spacing like that sort of worried him that there was something else that he was missing and he shouldn't be. He blinked a few times looking at her as she bowed being unnaturally polite about everything. "Sure, sounds good. I come by there all the time, maybe after Tom lets me go for the day," he said with a shrug throwing the stick into the garbage easily. "And sorry for that mess earlier today, wasn't very nice to be putting that out there about your friend," he apologized back knowing he should as that was something he wouldn't have tolerated if he was in her shoes.

Ruri's face fell just a bit, hearing him say sorry was something that she wasn't really expecting, because it was she who was supposed to say sorry to him. But all she could think about was how there was no way to call off the hit. "Oh, that's fine, thank you for apologizing." For the first time in a few minutes she heard footsteps, Ruri looked up, her head twitching quickly to the side to see two friends walking. The duo took one look in their direction, stopped and then, walked away, looking over their shoulders while frowning.
And then it sort of hit her, why that girl wanted him to be taken out in the first place, she said he was formidable and this made Ruri wonder how strong he was. "Oh, um, thank you for your time, I should be going home now. Please feel free to come by the Bakery when you get the chance." She took another bow, one that wasn't nervous or overly sympathetic, before standing up and running off.

"Your welcome," he huffed walking away to his house. He was tired, and he wanted sleep. That was about it. He walked through the city with long strides not wanting to really end up caught in something on the way. It wasn't that he couldn't handle it, everyone knew he could, but after not sleeping again for the second night in a row, he was literally exhausted. He pulled a cigarette out of his pocket. He put it in between his lips and lit up his smoke taking in a draw.

"Ruuuuri-chan!"
Her shoes tapped through the street, fingers prattling through her hair as she pulled out some hairbands, letting her hair loose. It was the boys from the shop again, and they trotted up to her, the flamboyant one waving his hand in the air frantically as he met her. "Ah, Ruri, what happened with our tickets?" The boy sheepishly grinned, a hand going behind his head as his cheeks began to flush a bit, clearly he felt awkward asking but there was no reason to be. "Oh, um." Ruri pulled her wallet out of her pocket, everything had been stuffed in there so quickly by her, so when she opened it up all her items popped out a bit. But the tickets were laid underneath the cash she had. "Here," She slipped out the tickets, putting them between her slender fingers and flaking them out to him. "Huh, oh, what did you do with them?"
"Oh, nothing." He looked at her a bit weirdly, but didn't take them. "Nah, hold onto them, then that means you'll go with me." He grinned and laughed at his own flirtatious joke, putting his hand down as his lips met again to a small smile. "So, do you know that guy?" His face turned to worry, something that she caught onto quickly. "The one you were just talking to, you really shouldn't talk to him Ruri, he's dangerous." Her face fell a bit, and then twitched into a confused grin. "Huh? Him? No, that's not true." She put her wallet back into her pocket and turned, starting to walk. "W-Wait Ruri! It's true! He's real strong, he's dangerous and has a really bad temper." She listened to him a little bit, seeing as how he had been keeping pace with her as she walked in the direction of her home. But in her thoughts she thought that it couldn't be true, because he seemed very thin and scrawny. "Whatever I'm going home, I have work tomorrow." And she waved him off, leaving him standing in the middle of the street as she continued onwards.

T O N I G H T Shizuo walked the long way back home making sure he didn't get into trouble that day or run into Izaya. Either would be murder for him at this point. He never wanted to fight to begin with--unless it was Izaya--and he just wanted sleep. So, he entered the apartment building climbing the stairs to his room. He opened up the door and pulled off his vest and bow tie just dropping them onto the floor. Within a few more steps, he stumbled onto his bed laying in the sun from the window. He needed to sleep and that was what he was going to get. He yawned loudly and curled up into a ball sleeping soundly within a few more seconds.
