Disclaimer: We don't actually know anything about music, so if our tastes turn out to be horrible, I am very sorry. ;A;
Stars, a Canadian indie dream pop band, is one of our favourites, though admitting so can get embarrassing, because for guys who mainly purport to like bitter, moody songs from bitter, moody, indie/alt guys, admitting to really liking dream pop and really loving really twee bands can get really embarrassing. In other words, I should really have led into this post with a bitter moody song from a bitter moody indie/alt guy, but it's tough to find the tracks I want on Youtube (at least, before one of them scored a Mercury), and we just happened to have uploaded these two Stars picks for Widow and Guest (Maxx's Death to Death and my You Come Around), who are in fact indirect song!meti.
We struggle a lot with Stars, being that we are deeply enamoured with some of their songs, but are deeply indifferent to most of the rest - which is usually the case, isn't it? Nevertheless, they are amongst our top, top bands - especially for 'meti names harhar (being that their tracks are less urban in nature than some of our other favourites). Three of my 'meti (and my horde title) are in fact named after songs of theirs, with many more planned so I really hope those don't get used before I get to them.
Stars - Death to Death :: A catchy, careless, heartless ditty. i am destroyer i am lover / and when i kiss i like to smother
Stars - What the Snowman Learned About Love :: Subtle distorted vocals over a wistful layered instrumentation circling almost to oppression.* how the heart bends and summer she sends a sky that refuses to die / you come around
*Said vocals only kick in around 2.28, but this is one of my favourite songs of all time, so hopefully you can wait it out. XD
Looking up at the previous posts, I love Decemberists, Metric, Radiohead, some Tiesto, and spy a few playlist names. Lots to listen to, otherwise! I love threads like this, I'll be back with another post, this time about The Frames, in a few days if I haven't bored you to death with this one yet. XD;;

So much for my next post being Frames! It will come but in the meantime while I'm dying...the awesome, to quote Auto-Straddle, New York City Gay Marriage Party that has gone on made me nostalgic for an old collection of songs about New York we threw together as a giant robots fanmix back in '07.
So here's seven (mostly) classic cheesy songs about New York in a zip! Most of which everyone probably knows and already has, but possibly not in digital form. We might have been high back then. What is not high, however, is the volume on some of these ancient things, so be careful with the dial if you're drunk enough to give this a spin.
As a final note, this EP goes from swingy to a little depressy (it was not a happy ending FST), so it is in fact totally out of touch with the general mood. But, oh well! I have about ten hours to save my life right now, so see you guys on the other side. Cheers!
