Kageko took the entire situation calmly. She couldn't match Rini's strength. At least not without exerting her body, which is just what she did. Activating the sixth stage of the Hidden Mist Sword Style, the girl would seem to vanish, only to reappear right behind Rini after having completely gone around her one and a half times. She had taken the shortest path she could. Even if Rini had the speed to react, she wouldn't have the reflexes unless it was given to her by some sort of bloodline. Even if she had some sort of taijutsu or weapon style that gave her the needed reflexes, she would most likely be unable to match a weapon specialist using a weapon style a rank above her own rank. As she moved, a minuscule speck of something would rise up in the air, too far away and too quickly for either Rini or Tavian to even see, given that they were even focusing on anything else other than the fight.

Now, there were several results of Kageko's movement, assuming that everything went according to plan. The first would be that now Rini would be encircled by her own chain and, with a simple tug from Kageko, she could be decapitated--the girl could see the sharp edges glinting in the light, she didn't need to be cut to know that the chain was sharp. By the no-kill rules of this fight, that would mean a loss for the other kunoichi. The others were all mental advantages. The girl now knew that this chain was not normal. Any normal chain would have broken by either the tension that Rini's pull and her own pull were putting on the weapon or by the sheer strength of her own blade, which she knew could cut steel at the strength she was at. However, if experience served her right, no weapon was unbreakable, there had to be a weakness to this chain. If just physical power wasn't an answer, then perhaps a ninjutsu of some sort would do the trick.

Stage Six
Jounin

The speed of the user rises dramatically, and is so fast that normal people can barely keep track. The user is now a blur when in motion. The only ninja capable of watching the user are taijutsu specialist of a high level, and doujutsu users that specifically give them the ability to see/predict movements. However, the user cannot keep up this speed for long because his muscles will slowly begin to tear apart, leaving the user incapable of using them. The strength of the user is now at it's limits. Nothing can stop the blade of the user, except for a very few jutsu, weapons, and ninja. Normal steel can be cut through easily. The strength of the user, though, is not used fully correctly, wasting some effort and movement to access the strength of the user. So there is a great strain on the muscles when used too much, and this can stop the user's movements.

Tavian found his legs underneath himself and Rini and Kageko in close range combat. He chuckeled. They were paying no mind to him so he simply took the time to get out of the chain. It took a minute or two but not long, because of the combat happening only feet away. Although he did lose a few drops of blood. Metal chains on someone's legs weren't entirely easy to get off. After out of these chains, the boy distanced himself from the two. Pulling the giant scroll off of his back, the Special Jounin placed it on the ground and pricked his finger. Slamming his finger into the scroll and rolled it across the scroll surface, several hundred plumes of smoke appeared on the battlefield. Some in the way of Kageko and some in the way of Rini. "Better finish this fast." Inside all of these puffs of smoke was a blade. All looked the same. As his body moved, he suddenly started to move in twists and turns and tornadoes and the like. As he picked up speed, his arms became near invisible to the naked eye. His arms, right foot and mouth now had blades in them. As he moved towards the group, he targetted Rini, first. The blade in his foot would target the front of Rini while the blade in his left hand would target her shoulder joint. As they prepared to hit the enemy, they would fade, becoming nearly impossible to see.

Rini's jaw tightened as Kageko fought her tug and the direction of the chain changed as the kunoichi blurred out of sight -- only for a moment, however. The High Priestess sucked in a small breath of surprise and annoyance when -- with several snapping sounds -- the chain went slack and several links clattered to the ground. The woman stared. "You broke it . . . you [censored] broke it! [censored] [censored]!" She whirled, wild gaze searching for the culprit only to find the woman right behind her. "You're going to pay for that," she snarled, pulling what remained of that side of the chain closer to herself.

Before she could get it spinning again, however, the other side fell slack as well -- and then puffs of smoke started to bloom about the roof of the tower. Tavian had gotten free. Rini had lost that short advantage. She hazarded a glance in his direction only to find him on the move. With a growl of annoyance and a jerk of the unbroken chain to return it to her before it could be pinned to the ground as well by the hundreds of swords blossoming all over the place she darted to the left. Nimbly weaving between smokey blades toward one edge of the tower, she strove to put distance between herself and both of her opponents, but it did not seem to make a difference. Tavian was targeting her. "Come on," she managed to gripe, after throwing a glance over one shoulder. His speed jumped and blades became a blur.

Rini cursed again -- louder this time -- as she twisted, planted her feet, and let her logical mind race to calculate the probable trajectory. If he continued on the previous path, then the blades would strike . . . there! She twisted -- but miscalculated -- or maybe he shifted his strike to match her movement. One blade raked across her right hip, just below the line of her waist guard, and the other drove into her right shoulder. Rini cried out, more out of alarm than pain and reflexively dropped the right side of the chain in order to snap her hand up and grab a hold of Tavian's wrist in a vice-like grip. "[censored]!" Hot blood trickled down her chest and back and her hand tightened to the point that she could almost feel his bones creaking beneath the force of her medical chakra-enhanced strength.

"What is this? Pick On Rini Day?" she half-hissed, half-coughed through gritted teeth.

the girl thought to herself. She was certain that the chain had remained intact during her circle of Rini. However, obviously, it hadn't. From what she could guess, the delay in noticing was a result of how slow her own reaction time was relative to the speed she was moving at.

Kageko tensed her body, ready for an attack by Rini, only to have Rini be forced to switch her attention to Tavian. Instead of rushing in to double team the Kiri ninja, Kageko chose to stand still for a couple moments to relax her muscles. While she could have kept up the pace of the sixth stage for quite a bit longer than she had chosen to, the girl didn't want to stretch her limits. As she alternately relaxed and tensed her muscles to soothe them, the girl took a good look at one of the many, identical swords Tavian had placed on the battle field. From what she could tell, they all were the same and they all were ordinary.

When she looked back up, she saw Tavian strike at Rini and her eyes widened in shock. Luckily for Kageko, her mask and the distance between her and the other two contestants meant that neither would be able to see the slight hint she gave at her reaction to blood. Something, some long-forgotten fear rose up in Kageko as she saw the spurts of the vivid red blood from Rini. the girl forced herself, . She couldn't let the blood distract her. No, she would control it. Kageko continued to stare at the blood, feeling somewhat unsteady as her unconscious continued to press something into the forefront of the girl's mind, but she would be able to fight just as well as she always did.

Now that she wasn't about to faint or whatever it was that she was going to do, Kageko could see the severity of Rini's injuries as well as just how close she was to the void. Under cover of distance, the one weapon Kageko had floating around on this level of the tower shot back down to the floor and then quickly approached Tavian and Rini using both its small size, its incredible speed, and the numerous swords that Tavian had set up as cover. When it came to a standstill, it was glued flat against the outside wall of the tower, right behind Rini and in no position to be seen by a casual glance from either Rini or Tavian. Kageko didn't mean for this weapon to attack. At least, that wasn't her intent at the moment. Instead, it was a safeguard of sorts, to make sure no contestants were killed.

As her weapon moved, Kageko also shifted her position to both get into a better spot and to help her weapon keep itself hidden, running diagonally to the side so she could get a better view of what was happening between the chuunin and other special jounin and to also get closer to the pair. As she ran, the girl also picked up one of Tavian's many swords. The girl was now wielding two katanas. Once she was in a good spot, Kageko stopped. She could see no opening for her.

Besides, Rini did have a point. This was supposed to be everyone vs. everyone. Up until now, it made sense for Rini to be the only one attacked because she had decided to launch the first attack. Now, though, Kageko was in no immediate danger from what she could tell, and the girl preferred to react to attacks rather than launching them.

Tavian -- for a moment -- thought he had miscalculated where he was going to hit Rini. He had been lucky, however. Although it didn't seem it now, this stage of the style used Hyuuga Gentle Fist techniques. So the more the enemy was hit, the more their chakra would begin to mess up. All of a sudden, the wrist of the Shinobi was clutched by the woman. He scowled for a moment. 'Damn! She's strong!' Dropping to his butt and allowing wrist to stay clutched by Rini, Tavian manuevered his legs to pick up a blade. It was a good thing the Leaf Taijutsu allowed him to do things like that. But only in the style. Pushing himself off of his left leg, the Oinin once again manuevered his right leg, the one with the blade, to target the side of Rini. In a large burst of strength, Tavian's blade would attempt to slam into her side and, due to the Gentle Fist, disrupt her chakra along with the injury.

Rini gritted her teeth through the pain, watching as Tavian dropped to grab swords with his -- legs? Her scowl morphed into a sneer as she sharply twisted her right hand and felt the bones in the shinobi's left wrist snap. She promptly then shoved herself away from him. If he kept a hold of his sword, the move would pull her off of it, but if not, she was taking the thing with her -- still in her shoulder. The High Priestess gathered chakra into her feet and flipped backwards, knowing full well how close she was to the edge. Tavian's leg-sword hissed beneath her head, barely missing her hair, and as she descended, Rini snapped out a hand to snag the edge of the tower.

Her chakra-enhanced grip cracked the stone as she swung down and planted her feet on the outside wall. She barely put any thought into how easy it was to activate the tree-climbing ability that allowed her to stick to and run across vertical surfaces as if they were horizontal. Thus, without any hesitation, she twisted and darted down and around the side of the tower, aiming to put some distance between herself and her opponents -- to escape through a window into a lower floor and tend her wounds in hopeful peace.

Kageko was relieved that neither Rini nor Tavian had fallen.
{Kageko...,} Kami reminded her host from within her mind.
{Right,} Kageko replied, remember just where she was and what she was supposed to be doing.

the girl thought to herself. She had just remembered a moment ago that this was supposed to be a free-for-all fight and that Tavian himself had asked her to fight him with all her might. the girl started to feel as if butterflies were having a dance-off in her stomach once more and she would have frozen solid right then if it weren't for Kaminari's presence. The angel was quiet and skittish at times, but she was also surprisingly calm in situations like this, to the point that Kageko couldn't help but think,

In the end, the girl's indecisiveness decided for her. She would see what Tavian would do before reacting. If Tavian chose to follow after Rini, Kageko would make her way to the lower floors as well, which was where the girl suspected the other kunoichi to be. It would be a waste of chakra to hang off of the edge of the building. If Tavian chose to come at her. Well, then, as much as Kageko hated it. she would fight Tavian with all she had.

As the girl's face changed to what appeared to be a strong distaste for what was currently happening, Tavian's concentration changed to getting her off of his wrist. But he was far too late. She had already snapped it. "Ah!" A yelp escaped his lips as he almost collapsed. As the Kiri Kunoichi pulled away, he released his grip on the blade and clutched his wrist as the woman disappeared off the side of the roof. A scowl replaced his current look as he turned to Kageko who appeared to just be standing there. The Special Jounin deactivated his sword style and, as quickly as they had appeared, every one of the blades (aside from his own three) disappeared in smoke. Including the one that would be stuck in the shoulder of Rini. Dismissing the pain of his broken wrist, the boy neared his three original blades. Sheathing Rising Tide and Falcon's Tear, the Oinin kept his newest blade in his working wrist. Too bad it was the hand he was not used to weilding a sword with. It would be a slight disadvantage. A glare appeared on his face as he scanned Kage. She clearly wasn't going to be the one to make the first move in this situation. So, patiently, Tavian took several steps toward the girl. His feet moved no faster than a normal pace. He paused only five yards away from his friend. Pushing off of his right foot, he attacked, the slash aimed across her right arm, only to end at her left arm. A clear slash across. Because of the distance between the two of them, it would be very hard to dodge. But no where near impossible. Especially for Kageko, who was used to weapons. But even he hadn't unleashed his trump card: the Seki - Reigan.

The High Priestess swung through a window and into a dark room four floors down. She quickly retreated for a moment, ignoring when the sword in her chest vanished without a trace, and watched the window warily. When, after a few minutes, no one entered after her, she all but collapsed onto the floor. Peace. Quiet. Safety. Well, not yet. She made her way carefully to a different room that only had one entrance -- the doorway -- and leaned against the opposite wall. The young woman slid to the floor with a wince and gingerly prodded her left hip. That strike had not broken skin, thanks to her metal mesh armor, but it would still leave one heck of a bruise. She would not be surprised if her skin was already turning odd colors, though she was not going to check at the moment. That could wait.

Sighing, Rini pulled pulled the chain into her lap to re-wind it. Even broken, it could still be of some use. As she did so, however, her fingers brushed over something wet on the chain, however, that should not have been. Frowning in confusion, she peered at the links to discover the source. It took her a moment to recognize it. Blood -- and not hers. It couldn't be. Yes, she was bleeding, but that section of chain had not come in contact with her wound. That could only mean one thing. A slow, wicked smile spread across her lips. The blood was Tavian's from when he got caught in the chain.

A laugh bubbled up in the High Priestess' chest as she shifted, set the bloody chain aside, and pressed two fingers into her shoulder wound. This was perfect. Just perfect. "Jikan ga fusoku shite imasu, shite imasu, shite imasu~" she started to sing softly to herself as her fingers moved to draw the familiar shape of her deity on the ground with her own blood. "Jikan ga fusoku shite imasu, Ta-vi-an~"

the girl thought as she readied herself. Even though she was now holding one katana, she kept her left hand free. Her first instinct was to back off but then she realized that they were in an area with set boundaries. As a result, she remained standing where she was, but she didn't do nothing. Quietly, out of sight of Tavian, who was focused on her, Kageko recalled the weapon she had sent to the very edge of the platform and called it in just close enough so that she could easily access it.

As she wondered what to do, Kami transmitted an idea to her. Considering the angel's nature, it was a surprise she had come up with an idea like that, but it was worth a try. The girl dodged the slash Tavian aimed at her and then kept the boy's sword from coming back up or at her once it had completed its path. At this point, she could have easily followed up with a lightning-fast attack with her other hand. However, she chose not to. Instead, she took the short reprieve to talk. Hopefully, she would be allowed to finish what she said. If not, then she was always ready to defend in the same way she could attack.

"Hey, Tavian," the girl began, "Have you noticed yet that Rini is a medic shinobi? Think about it, her body clearly doesn't show the figure of a taijutsu user or even a weapon user, yet she is incredibly strong. Only one other class can achieve such strength, the medical class." Just by looking at Kageko herself, Tavian would be able to see what she meant. While for the most part, Kageko looked skinny and light, upon closer inspection it would be seen that her body was quite toned in certain places and any appearances of frailty she might have were misunderstandings created from her slight build. At a moment like this, when she was using her muscled to both hold down Tavian's weapon and ready herself for any split-second attacks, her muscles could also be seen to be working in a way that was a lot more strenuous than what Rini had shown. She paused for just a moment for Tavian to react in some way, if he chose to that is, and then continued regardless of whether or not he seemed about to say anything, "Now, if she was a medic, that would mean that she would have the means to fully heal herself of most of the damage you did to her. Actually, that's probably what she's doing right now. Is it really the best idea for us to be cutting each other up while she rests and relieves herself of the wounds you gave her?". Another pause as Kageko continued to look straight at Tavian. Then she continued, seeming as calm as ever even though she didn't feel it, "I'm not saying we double team Rini, that would most likely be against the rules. I'm just saying that before we try to go for each others throats, we try to flush Rini out first to return this fight to a 3 vs. 3 battle. I mean, even when I stood on the side and didn't participate I was taking a risk. Personally, I have no way of tracking Rini and no efficient way of flushing her out physically, which will likely involve crashing in the roof and the first couple stories below us, so I presented this idea to you."

The girl remained silent as she waited for Tavian's answer. She knew there were many things she could have done wrong, and for a some of them she knew just how to fix it. However, Kageko chose not to, even as Kami quietly insisted on it. The girl would only go so far in her efforts to persuade Tavian. She would not try to sway what he thought about her and her clear absence in the short skirmish between him and Rini. Kageko knew it was cowardly and weak, but it was the only thing she could think of doing. She hated being the first to attack unless it was necessary and even then it left a nasty taste in her mouth. Add into that the factors that she didn't want to hurt Tavian in the first place, didn't want to break any rules and double team on Rini, and didn't want to accidentally knock either Tavian or Rini over the edge, and it would become clear that all the girl could do was stand and be ready.

Before he brought his blade back up to slash again, the Oinin paid close attention to what Kageko was speaking of. She made a great point. Pulling his blade away, the boy sheathed it. "Watch out, Kageko! I have a plan!" Concentrating his chakra into his feet, Tavian pushed himself high into the air. Performing several handsigns, the Special Jounin prepared a specialized technique that he had come up with. It would most likely cover the majority of the surface of the ground. However, the effect zone would be a lot bigger and better, in his case. Finishing the last handsign, the Shinobi yanked out both of his water specialized blades. This hurt his right hand, horribly, seeing as it was broken. But he barely held control of the hilt of his blade. Pointing them at the ground, a large wave (because of his blades both being unseathed, the wave power would be SS) slammed into the ground, surely crashing through the ground. Because the wave did take up a large portion of the ground, what hadn't been hit would surely fall apart, due to the need for a stable base. Whoever was on the floor undearneath Tavian and Kageko would find themselves covered in rubble and boulders from the ground above them within seconds. But this wasn't all. The water would also seep through and gather in any opening it could find, continuing to push whatever hadn't been hit by the boulders. "Gah!" A yelp could be heard as Tavian finally released the blade being weilded by his broken wrist. Deep inside, he hoped Kageko had gotten out of the way. It would surely injure her if she hadn't.

Rini shivered in delight as she felt the markings spread across her skin upon completion of the circle. She lifted the chain and delicately licked of the blood from the metal links. As her hands deftly re-wrapped the chain about her waist, she closed her eyes and focused on the metallic taste on her tongue -- on the beat of her heart -- on the ethereal connection that was forming between herself and her target. Slowly she began to hear it -- sense it -- the thrum of her victim's pulse. Following the mental path she had before with Sindenky, she aligned her heartbeat with Tavian's. As soon as they locked into the same pulse, the tower trembled and rumbled.

The High Priestess peeked up at the ceiling, where dust fell, as the tower slowly settled again. She felt a slight spike in Tavian's heartbeat and cocked her head. Whatever that had been, it was his doing, surely, but the question remained: Was he actually attacking Kageko or was he ignoring his fellow Konoha-nin to target her? She frowned slightly. That would not be in the spirit of a 3-on-3 match -- to play nice and easy with one of your opponents. She snorted and muttered, "I was going to take my time, but if you want to play dirty . . . fine by me."

Rini twirled a pair of her spikes into her hands and extended them to full length. Without hesitation, she plunged one of them into her left thigh. The young woman gasped in pain and pleasure as the weapon tore through muscle and scraped bone and she felt the echoing throb through her connection to Tavian. That would definitely make things hard for him to stand -- likely bring him to his knees. Humming, she lifted the right spike to touch it's point to her chest -- just over her heart. "Checkmate," she giggled.

As soon as Tavian gave her the warning, Kageko realized that she... was on the ground that was about to be caved in. As silly as it was, she hadn't realized that until after her friend had agreed; up to that point she was too nervous to think correctly. To make matters even less agreeable for her, one half of her Key was on the floor below here. Before a second thought, the girl moved the weapon that was on the top floor with her up into the air, moved the weapon that was on the floor beneath her up the stairs and then up into the air, and then moved her on body to the edge of the arena.

Kageko reached the edge in the nick of time and tossed herself over it just as the wave of water came crashing down. With chakra, she stuck herself to the wall and let the water crash down on her. The sheer force of the attack sent her down even further but the girl managed to hang on through sheer will. Oh, that and because her hand managed to find a window sill that gave her even more traction. Lucky for her, she was only suffering a fraction of the wave's power.

After the torrent had passed, Kageko heaved herself up through the window and hung limply on the side to catch her breath. As extra protection, the girl brought the two weapons that she had skittering over the battle field back to her side. Just then, the girl heard a giggle echo from outside and above her. It was faint, but definitely there. Kageko realized as she thought of the only plausible source of the giggle, Immediately, the girl climbed up to the window above and to the right of the window she had hung on and quietly clambered back into the tower, on the same floor as Rini. Softly, the girl took several steps towards the inside of the floor. She wasn't betting on finding Rini blindly, but if medic had a habit of giggling randomly as it seemed--really, that was the only excuse Kageko could think of for someone giggling while they were trying to hide--perhaps she would be able to pinpoint her target through sound. To better her chances, the girl pressed one ear against the wall as she crept silently through the hallways. She was as skillful as an assassin when it came to stealth, and the girl was using that talent right now.

As he heard no noise from the enemy, he knew he had failed. Tavian had clearly miscalculated his enemy's position. A scowl appeared on his face. He was still freefalling from the height he had been when he performed the technique. One blade still in hand. It took no time for the first floor (underneath the roof) to break, too. Due to the rocks and water slamming into it at such a rapid rate. About fifteen yards from the first opening he had made in the ground, the boy felt a horrible pain in his left leg. He let out yet another yelp. As he found himself in the air above the first floor, he looked down, only to see there was a hole in the second floor, too. He needed to think of something fast, or else he would hit the ground with a splat! Now head first going down toward the third floor, where the rocks had stopped, the boy found himself falling faster and faster. Performing a small string of handsigns, the Oinin performed the same technique he had used at first, but due to him only having one blade in hand, it wasn't nearly as powerful as the last (S - rank). As the wave hit the stones, it caused the third floor to break. But that would be as lucky as he got. As all the boulders slammed into the ground of the fourth floor (pretty sure that's where Rini and Kageko are), they stopped there. He scowled, tucking his blade away. Flipping so his head was upward, he finally crossed the threshold, finding himself near the ceiling of the fourth floor. As he neared the boulders and smaller rocks, he finally found his targets. But he needed to think fast. All of a sudden, he got a great idea. As he landed on his working leg, having to time it just right, he activated his Seki - Reigan. As if time had frozen, he pushed off of his working leg and into the direction of Rini. It caused dizziness but not enough to throw him off, as he had trained his eye several times and had reduced the amount of dizziness he faced when pushing it's limits. As he neared Rini, several after images were left in his wake. His arm (the one with a working wrist) out to slam into the Kiri Kunoichi. It would make contact, due to his speed. And because of this very speed, it would add an enourmous amount of strength to the punch. Clearly enough strength to slam Rini into the wall and nearly out the other side.

As Rini contemplated the pros and cons to actually stabbing herself -- knowingly breaking the rules -- the ceiling down the hallway outside her room (and probably elsewhere in her current floor) caved in. She shifted her stance slightly but held her ground, tip of the stake still pressed over her heart. Her eyes searched the settling dust, mouth ready to call out a warning -- a threat -- should Tavian appear and attempt to attack. After all, that would only be fair considering the circumstances. Ah! There he was! As he started to land, she tightened her grip on the stake and opened her mouth -- but then he vanished. Before a drop of dread could seep into Rini -- she had seen the Seki-Reigan before -- had felt it's speed -- something slammed into the base of her ribcage.

Time seemed to slow as the fist impacted. Idiot. She was still in the circle as she felt her ribs crack and her body cave in response to the blow -- felt the stake dig unintentionally into her chest and scrape against bone, tear through muscle, and pierce the outer edge of her heart -- felt the echoing pain as Tavian suffered the same. But then, in the blink of an eye, she was hurtled from the circle and into the wall behind her, an impact she would not share with the Konoha shinobi. Deep cracks split through the stone and what little air left in Rini's lungs was forcefully expelled. The marks vanished from her skin, but the damage to her opponent was already done. Death would not be instantaneous, but without medical attention, he would no doubt bleed out internally within minutes and any further strain on his body -- his heart -- would only quicken the process.

"Idiot," Rini coughed, echoing Jashin's sentiment as she lifted a slightly shaking hand to pull the stake from her chest and started to extricate herself from the wall. "You just killed yourself."

((Before anyone argues that he threw her out of the circle and thus the ritual was void, he did through her out of the circle. That damage was done while she was still in the circle -- when the punch connected. Her/their bones cracked/broke and body bent forward (thus the slight impalement) all in that split second before she was thrown out. Damage done within the circle = damage done to target and she was in the circle when the hit was made, so he shared the damage.))
