Hikari's ears perked if only for a minute as an uneasiness filled her, the piercing sting of eyes, gazing upon her shot through her as she slowly turned. Her own yes met that of a half head poking from the bottom of her large front window. The bottom of the window stood only a few feet from the ground, only a child could be peering in from the world outside. As Hikari's gaze met the young woman's, she noticed the irritation in her eyes, the sheer hatred of people.
Hikari slowly moved to the door, poking her head out to see the tiny woman standing there. Hikari was utterly dumbfounded. What she thought a mere child was actually a "grown" woman. A small smirk crossed Hikari's lips as she resisted what seemed an in grown reaction to laugh. Not knowing what possessed her to say the words that left her mouth, Hikari spoke a small chuckle under her breath.
"Small children shouldn't stare, it's not nice"
As the smart-assish words left her mouth, a spark shot through her, the masked man from her dream flashing in her mind, his chilling words running through her head as she stared at the tiny woman before her. Her attention was quickly turned away as a bright light illuminated the street, a cloaked figure in white slowly making their way towards the two.

Saken stopped a few feet from his destination and stared ahead at the stand. His eyes moved between the fruit looking for any that he could get a lower price for. He met eyes with a few of the owners only to avert them shortly after, he considered waiting for the festival but it would be even more crowded. Saken moved between the stands and eventually came across the stand of an old woman. Walking up to it he asked for the oldest piece of fruit she had, after a small negotiation of price he walked away with a content sigh.
Saken took a bite out of food and flinched at the taste but pat his pouch with a small nod. His happiness soon faded as a chill ran up his spine causing him to look around. He was surrounded by people which didn't help his growing paranoia, he took a few steps forward the laughter of people all around him. His eye twitched as he picked up a specific noise not too far behind him, after a few seconds he determined it was a horse. Glancing behind him he noticed two approaching figures drawing closer. He quickly rolled out of the way as a man in a black cloak ran past him a horse following close behind him. Standing up Saken brushed off his pants and looked in the direction of the rider. "Please tell me I'm wrong." With slight hesitation he started sprinting after the horse pushing people out of the way as he made his way through the crowd. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The man in the black cloak jumped into an alleyway causing the horse to run past him. His breathing was heavy as he closed his eyes waiting for the galloping to fade into the distance. Eventually the horse faded into the distance causing the cloaked figure to let out a small sigh. Reaching into the pocket of his robe he pulled out a small pink pouch holding it up by a gold string before chuckling. Tossing it in the air he caught it and went to the leave however a voice stopped him. "HALT!"
The cloaked man turned to see a dark figure standing on a nearby rooftop. What seemed to be the man's hair fluttered to the side as he stood with his arms crossed. The man could see something gold flash for a moment around the man's neck. "I cannot allow those who would shun Justice and Love to escape!" The man's eye twitched as the man spread his feet and pointed towards him with his right hand putting his left on his waist. The galloping of the horse seemed to be drawing closer again causing the man to turn and run. "Hey! I wasn't done get back here!"
The man ran out of the alleyway only to narrowly dodge the horse as it ran past him, a small figure in a white cloak turned the horse around. The horse stood sideways blocking the cloaked man's path, he glared into the darkness of the small figures hood. The cloaked man went to run in the other direction but saw the man on the rooftop once again. "It's really rude to run away while I'm doing a speech. Now stand there and listen!" The cloaked man was silent but remained still at the man's request as his eyes looked for an exit. "I am the warrior who serves Justice! The man who fights for Love everywhere!" The man took a step forward into the light revealing his long blond hair that continued to flutter though the wind had long since stopped blowing. His green eyes peered down at the man, his priest robe blowing slightly in the wind as he placed a foot on the roofs edge. "I am Kalan Theodore Valadres! The warrior of Justice and Love!"
The little figure started moving towards the man again on the horse, Kalan jumped off the roof and started doing a series of forward flips. The little figure jumped off the horse and rolled on the ground as the man jumped out of the way of the still moving horse. The horse ran past him and towards the forward flipping Kalan. "Surrender now and there will be no need to-" Kalan's words were cut off as the horse ran past him and he hit the cobblestone face first....hard.
The cloaked man cringed at the witnessed impact and stared down at the now motionless Kalan. After a few moments of silence crimson started pouring onto the cobblestone from Kalan's face. The little figure walked over and taking it's boot moved Kalan's head slightly. Kalan jumped up blood pouring down his face before letting out a loud scream. He turned towards the little figure and raised his hands in the air. "Nala! You got the timing wrong! How many times have we gone over that technique you did that on purpose didn't you?!" The little figure was silent as Kalan continued to question the one named Nala. The cloaked man turned to leave when a bloody hand gripped his shoulder, the man let out a small whimper and turned to see Kalan glaring at him. "Where do you think your going?"
Kalan tied the man up and stuffed a bloody handkerchief back into his pocket. "Least we finally got the pouch back, that woman will be grateful too-" Kalan cut himself off once he found the pouch had gone missing. "I'll take one of those," Kalan turned to see Nala handing the recovered pouch to a nearby stand owner. "Keep the rest of the silver," Nala took the piece of fruit and bit into it from the darkness of her robe. Kalan reached down and pulled the hood off of Nala's head. A little girl with short brown hair and a milky face turned and looked up at him before his fist collided with the top of her head. She took a step back and rubbed it as Kalan asked for the pouch back. "Oh man....Nala don't use money that's not yours! All the pain of getting it back too." Kalan took out his pouch and poured some of his silver into it with a small sigh. "Let's just hurry and find an inn, the festival will start soon and I'd rather not sleep in the street again." "If she had paid attention she wouldn't have gotten it stolen in the first place. Coming back with less should be considered kindness." "Kalan punch" Kalan punched Nala on the top of her head again causing her to rub it with both hands. "You ruined a perfectly good deed. I don't use the Love Uppercut everyday you know. He felt the genuine affection from that punch. Now the whole things been tainted." "You use some form of 'Love' on most days Kalan. You used the 'Love Dropkick' the other day." Kalan continued ignoring Nala's mean words. "Keep your eyes open...with all the people here we should find some kind of lead."

As Inae was addressed by the young baker, she met her own gaze with hers. Upon hearing her speak, she felt a wave of both anger and irritation envelop her tiny body. She had thought that she was done with all of the comments like that. Aside from Mirela, idiots, and being picked up, there was one thing that Inae truly despised-- Being mistaken for a child, and it didn't matter if it was done by accident or on purpose.
Narrowing her eyes at the girl, Inae began to regret ever leaving to get fresh bread in the first place. After looking over her shoulder to gaze into the front window of her shop. Her regret had been confirmed once she saw a lack of harlot inside and a little too much of the airhead of a child, Miu.
Giving a long, irritated sigh, Inae reached up and rubbed her temples before speaking. "Listen, I'll have you know that I'm not exac--..." Her words were cut off as the cloaked figure made its way into her line of vision. Deciding that she didn't want to deal with any more surprises, Inae smoothed out her jacket and turned back toward her shop.
"I'll come back when you learn to have a little respect, now if you'll excuse me I have some annoying business to take care of." She began to make her way back to her shop, shooting a death glare at Miu, causing the child to freak out.
"M-Momma! Auntie Inae's coming ba-- Aaah!!!" Scrunching her nose, as Inae tried to open the door, Miu quickly dashed over to the door and locked it to keep her from coming in. "Hurry, Momma! She's gonna hurt me! Auntie Inae's gonna hurt me!"
"Miu! Open this door right now!"
"Nope!"
"Miu! You little brat, open the door!"
Letting out a small sigh, Mirela disposed of all the glass shards before making her way down the steps, wanting to put an end to Miu's yelling. She adored the little girl to death, having raised her as if she were her own, but there were plenty of times when she felt as if Miu had been too much for her, and she was.
"Alright, what's goi-- Miu!!" Mirela quickly hurried over to the door and picked up Miu before setting her off to the side and unlocking the door. She took a few steps back as Inae opened the door, able to see the rage in her eyes. "Now listen, Inae... I can't be in two places at once.. You wanted me to clean up the broken glass, I couldn't do that and watch your shop at the same ti--..."
"Shut up, you no good harlot. You and that... That thing are on very thin ice. You're lucky that I'm still allowing you to live here. Now, if you want to keep living here, I only require three things from you. One, keep Miu under control and out of my business. Two, don't touch my things. Three... Make yourself useful for once!"
Inae quickly pointed at Mirela's chest, narrowing her eyes at her. "Why don't you start now, go to the market and pick up some fresh groceries. Miu can stay here, because I know that if you take her with you, you won't be able to resist her, and you'll do nothing but spoil her."
"But, Inae.."
"Now, Mirela!"
Letting out another small sigh, Mirela walked past Inae and made her way toward the door, only to stop when she saw the cloaked figure. Instead of leaving to go to the market, Mirela sat herself down in a chair near the window, curious to see if they would show their face or not.
Inae sighed and shook her head before heading over toward the stairs. "I'm going upstairs for a few minutes... If you're still here by the time I come back down, you and Miu will be living in the streets. Do I make myself clear?"
"Crystal clear. Don't worry, I'll get the shopping done. I just want to wait a minute before leaving..."
Miu giggled a bit seeing Inae go up the stairs before she ran over to Mirela and climbed into her lap, wrapping her arms around her neck as she began to watch the cloaked figure as well, smiling and nuzzling against Mirela.

A soft wind blew through the main street, the cloaked figure's robes dancing majestically through them as they walked toward the young girl and curious young woman. Hikari felt as if her heart was in her throat as she stared at the figure making their way towards her. She knew not who the figure was, but something within her knew that she was afraid. She found her hands clenching the fabric around her neck in anticipation as the figure moved closer. Something about the way they moved didn't settle well with Hikari. As a gust of wind shot through the empty street, the figure stopped, only a few feet from where Hikari stood. Silence fell over them as the two exchanged glances, Hikari's small frame shaking slightly. Although their face was hidden, Hikari could feel their gaze, piercing through her. It was then that the silence was broken by a soft, familiar voice.
"It's good to see you again...Hikari. As well as you Mirela"
Hikari's eyes widened as the cloaked figure's hood fell, revealing a young woman, her silver flowing hair shining in the morning light. Before them stood Birth, the deity of life. Her ethereal eyes stared into Hikari's, a small smile coming over her before a small white orb of light formed in her hand. Birth's smile faded before her hand thrusted forward onto Hikari's chest, forcing the orb into her body.
"I'm sorry...in two days, this world will be thrown to darkness...I entrust you with my light..young Hikari. Fight..like your father did so many years ago."
Hikari's eyes went blank as she fell to the floor, her body shining brightly before a large pillow climbed to the skies. Hikari felt her body almost melting yet her limbs were frozen. Pain shot through Hikari's body as she struggled to gain control of her body, the light slowly melding with the rest of her body. Birth turned, her eyes meeting Mirela's before softly speaking.
"I'm sorry Mirela...so very sorry..."
With those words Birth walked off, vanishing into a flash of light, leaving the young girl to struggle with her new power.

Kalan took in a deep breath before a small smile formed on his face as he walked past another stand. Nala walked beside him though her face remained expressionless, he knew it was because of the large crowd that surrounded them. She always walked close enough to watch him but far enough to where she could easily leave him should trouble come their way. Part of him was proud of her sense of survival but the other half didn't like the distance but if he tried to break it consequences would follow. The consequences would normally come in the form of guards confusing him as a kidnapper.
Putting the thought aside he turned his attention back towards the surrounding crowd. He felt something pull at his heart as he walked through the crowd of people and the workers for the upcoming festival. Seeing the smile on the people's faces and the buildings he couldn't help but chuckle. "To think that it's changed this much," he said crossing his arms. "I regret waiting this long to come back."
Kalan closed his eyes as he allowed his mind to drift his hand closing around the golden locket around his neck. A smile appeared in his mind and he felt his heart flutter for a moment before opening his eyes. His eye twitched seeing a man with grayish white hair staring at him, it took him a moment to recognize him. "Saken!"
Saken let out a small sigh as he looked at Kalan's hand, seeing his eyes cast down at the locket Kalan stuck it back into his shirt. Kalan walked over and placed his hands on Saken's shoulders before he started to shake him. Kalan laughed but stopped as Saken reached up and grabbed his wrists, his eyebrows drawing down. "It's good to see you again Saken, it's been awhile hasn't it? Where's Liria and Kina at? Are they nearby?" Saken flinched at the question and averted his eyes turning his gaze to Nala, looking to her as a distraction. "Well hello Nala, good to see Kalan hasn't lost you yet. Consider yourself lucky you have such a nice guardian. How are you doing?" "Mind your own business you long haired freak," Saken's eye twitched and he turned back to Kalan cursing himself for thinking she would help him. Kalan's eyes narrowed a little seeing Saken's hesitation, however before he could question further a pillar of light caught his attention. Saken turned towards it his eyes widening at the light before it faded into the clouds. "What...was that? Kalan let's go check it-" Saken's words were cut off as he felt something slam into the back of his skull. He let out a small groan before hitting the ground as his vision faded to black.
Kalan stuck something back into his sleeve and let out a small sigh. "Sorry Saken I'll buy you a lunch to make up for it, but Kina would kill me if I let you run into potential danger." "You should work on more subtle approaches," Nala said kicking the unconscious Saken. "I only know two people who can summon that much light....and Saken shouldn't meet either of them." Kalan looked at Nala and watched as she pulled her hood back up over her head. It was her silent way of informing him she was coming along, which brought him no joy. Kalan reached down and moved Saken out of the crowded street into a nearby alley before running towards the light. Nala followed behind him as the two weaved through the crowd of people, Kalan mumbled something under his breath as he ran. "It's not possible." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saken put his hand against the wall as he rubbed the back of his head, he flinched at the pain and stood back on his feet. He grit his teeth as he felt the bump on the back of his head, once his eyes adjusted he noticed he was in an alleyway. He dug in his memories and made his way out of the alleyway stepping over a beggar in the process. Once he reached the crowd he looked around for Kalan closing his hand into a fist remembering why he was unconscious in the first place. He made a mental note to repay Kalan for the throbbing pain he was kind enough to give him. Sticking his hands in his pockets he started walking in what he thought was the direction of the light.
Saken turned and moved towards the back streets tired of bumping into people along the main street. He found himself thinking about Liria and Kina as he walked, he wondered if that light was the reason they didn't go to the capital. He shook his head pushing the thought aside and put his full focus in making his way to the light. "I wonder how that light feels...." Saken turned back into the main street as he picked up the smell of bread again, he remembered his fruit and rubbed his stomach. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Vel." A woman with long black hair part of it tied back at the top of her head turned and looked at the tavern owner. She was wearing makeup and her dull eyes moved over to meet his own, she wore a black outfit with a ruffled collar and a long black skirt that went down to her ankles. Her quiet voice had a small tone of hesitation in it as she spoke to him. "Are you going out boss?" The tavern owner remained silent and place a small brown belt around his waist. "Don't get yourself killed," The tavern owner gave a small nod and made his way to move out of the tavern. "Watch the place while I'm gone." With that he closed the door and walked outside, Vel gave a small nod and continued mopping up the mess from the customers earlier.

After recovering from the shock of seeing Birth and witnessing the events that had just unfolded, Mirela quickly lifted Miu off of her lap and set her down onto the ground. She felt her heart beating rapidly as panic began to envelop her body, her mind filling with a plethora of questions. Why had Birth descended? Just who exactly is this mysterious girl lying on the ground? Was she really his daughter? What exactly was going to happen in just two days? These were only a few questions of many.
"Miu, Miu listen. Go upstairs, go into your room, and don't come out until I say."
"Momma, I don't wanna go upsta--"
"Miu please, listen to me. Do as I say and I'll take you candy shopping later, okay?" Mirela loved Miu, but she wasn't in the mood to deal with a pesky eight year old child that was more than likely going to get herself hurt trying to figure out what was going on.
The moment the words "candy" and "shopping" left Mirela's lips, Miu's eyes immediately lit up like stars shining in the darkest sky. "Candy?! Of course, Momma! I'll do whatever you say! You'd better be tellin' the truth though! Lies are bad, Momma! Really bad!"
"Miu..." Her voice was a bit more stern this time.
"Oops! Sorry, Momma! Take care of the nice baker lady, 'kay?" Pulling on her hat, Miu quickly spun on her heel and took off toward the stairs. As she opened the door and went to take the first step, she found herself freezing in her tracks as she was met with Inae's icy emerald gaze. "A-Auntie Inae! Somethin' happened to the nice baker lady!"
Raising an eyebrow, Inae gently pushed Miu out of the way and moved toward Mirela, not pleased seeing that she hadn't gone to the market as she asked. "Nice baker lady my a**... Mirela, what the hell happened?" Inae folded her arms and glanced outside, causing her eye to twitch violently, and only one thought was running through her mind-- A collapsed woman outside definitely wasn't good for business.
"You know, I would tell you to move her, but something could be seriously wrong with her and you're the only one that can do most of the domestic work around here, which is the only reason I keep you around mind you, so it would be bad if something happened to you. So, don't touch her. Just stay outside with her. When she wakes up, tell her to stay the hell away from my shop."
"You know... If only you knew how severe this is, maybe you would shut that damn mouth of yours for once." Mirela glanced over at Inae, her eyes narrowing as her expression took on a serious tone. "I'm not going to touch her, but if you're going to be acting this way, then go upstairs."
Inae's eyes widened hearing Mirela talk, taken completely by surprise. "I... Well, I, uh..." She paused for a moment to clear her throat and to regain her composure. "Fine. Have it your way... I'll be in my room. Come on, Miu."
Making sure that Miu went up the stairs first, Inae followed behind her and slammed the door, leaving Mirela alone with Hikari. Once they both made it into their main living area, Inae sighed a bit and shook her head. "You know, Miu... Your 'Momma' can be a real pain."
"I know, but she's my Momma and I love her, She takes care of me! That, and she promised to buy me candy, so I gotta be a good girl!"
"Yeah, a good girl." Shaking her head once more, Inae moved over to her room and went inside before grabbing a book and curling up on her bed.
--------------------
After being left alone with Hikari, Mirela's serious expression shifted into more of a gentle one. Stepping outside and moving over to Hikari, Mirela knelt down beside her, making sure to keep a small distance from her.
Glancing down at the young girl, Mirela let out a small sigh. "If what Birth said is true... Then I guess its all up to you." She reached forward to brush some of her bangs out of her face, but stopped herself and brought her hand back, telling herself that it would be a very bad idea.
"I just can't let you do it alone, though. I had people to protect seven years ago, and I have people to protect now." A faint, yet sad smile crossed her lips.
'I just... I just wish you were here to help.'

A scene had quickly gathered as Hikari's body lay, pulsating with light. Her blank eyes seemed to stare off into nothingness as inside she struggled to tame the light now rampaging inside of her. Within the broken world she only saw in her dreams, Hikari lay, her body writhing with immense pain. Struggling to raise to her feet, panic slowly sank in, Hikari had realized where she now was and who was waiting in the shadows for her in the broken world of her dreams. Finally managing to sit up, a wince of pain flew through her body as the light that held her pulsated more, as if it were a heartbeat thundering inside of her.
"It'll be over soon...all you have to do is grasp it's flow, then it's yours to use."
A muffled voice echoed through the dark world as the masked figure slowly came into view. Hikari grit her teeth as she struggled to get to her feet to run, only to fail. Her hatred at herself grew as the man stood directly before her, his hand slowly moving from his coat pocket. He reached out, presenting his hand to the young girl. Hikari was dumbfounded but defeated as she struggled to lift her arm.
"I just....have to grasp it..."
As their hands met, the light that had been bestowed to Hikari exploded from the two of them, their bodies shining brightly as the world illuminated for the first time, the chains that scattered the world resonating their metal tones. Hikari's breath staggered as she felt the pain leave her body.
"You have a long journey ahead of you...but for now..sleep"
With the masked man's words, the shattered world began to dissipate, Hikari's blank eyes slowly returning their color as she regained her consciousness. A soft smile came over her as the pulsating light had become a soft, warm glow. Her eyes slowly looked up to see the woman that had sat by her.
"you...look like...a large breasted bush.."
Hikari gave a small chuckle before her eyes closed, the light dimming as she slept.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"My my, this is certainly not what i expected when i came looking for that light, yours had me fooled for another's."
Birth slowly stepped from behind a corner into the alley, blocking Saken's pass. A soft smirk came over the deity as she looked Saken up and down her grin growing wider as she saw the light within him.
"Very interesting, definately not one of mine, yet that attitude of yours reminds me so much of him, tell me boy, do you know of a Jazz Kobayashi?"
Birth's question hung in the air as she blocked Saken's path through the alley.

Saken flinched a little hearing a voice and upon seeing someone block his path stopped in the alleyway. He took his right hand out of his pocket and stared at the woman as she mentioned a light, seeing the smirk on her face his eyebrow arched as she continued. When she finished Saken closed his eyes and ruffled his hair for a moment. Something about this woman was off, especially the strange warmth he could sense about her. He found his irritation slowly growing the longer he stared at the woman, something didn't sit well with him as he decided whether or not to just walk past her. However her mention of Jazz gave him enough interest in her to stimulate a response.
"I don't know him personally but the old hag mentioned him every now and then." Saken took his other hand out of his pocket before continuing. "Jazz Kobayashi is the man who will live long enough to become a legend yet still die a fool. A 'hero' with a nasty attitude." Saken paused for a moment and tilted his head trying to think back further to his conversation. "So to answer your question I only know of him and his exploits but not personally." Saken remained silent before his eyes moved to the area behind the woman. "Anyway lady much as I love speaking in a dank alleyway why don't you go bother some other guy. I'm sure they'd be willing to take a shot at you...I'd get the silver first though." Saken stuck his hand back in his pocket and let out a small sigh, he allowed some darkness to flood into his hand. "Unless you're one of those 'privileged' ladies who just wants to brawl, in that case I'd be happy to comply. Otherwise move if your business is done." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kalan dashed down the street doing his best to weave through the people, he glanced back every now and then to make sure Nala wasn't to far behind. She ran nearby with one hand on her hood keeping it from flying off, he smiled and turned his attention forward. "Nala I'm going up" Kalan turned into an alleyway and jumping between the walls made his way to the roof. He looked down to see Nala was still running but moved closer to the buildings which made it easier for him to keep an eye on her.
Keeping their momentum they continued moving, Kalan glancing over at Nala to make sure she was okay every few jumps. While drawing closer to the light something start to pull at his heart almost making him hesitate. If he was right about the source of the light then would it be alright to encounter either of them now? He had thought of this before departing but drawing closer the question resurfaced in the back of his mind. Pushing it down he jumped off the roof once he reached the source, however lost in thought he didn't look as he jumped. He found himself descending towards a woman, he started to yell to move when he noticed who it was. It took him a moment but seeing the blond in her hair made his heart skip. "Mirela!" The world seemed to go pink for a moment as happiness started to envelop him, he closed his eyes a large smile coming across his face. However his smile faded and the world returned to normal as he remembered his quick descent. Nala quickly reached up and grabbed Mirela by her ponytail, grabbing her arm she forced her to move out of the way.
Kalan landed where Mirela once stood stumbling forward a little before catching himself. Nala released Mirela's hair and let her go before walking past her moving next to the sleeping Hikari. He brushed himself off and cleared his throat, adjusting the collar of his robe he took in a deep breath and tucked his book under his arm. He turned to face Mirela and with a small grin he raised his right hand and gave a small wave. "Hey Mirela,"

Hearing all of the commotion outside, Inae let out an irritated sigh before closing her book and returning to the main living area to investigate. Stepping over a few of Miu's toys that had been lying around, Inae made her way over to the window, noticing that Miu was no longer upstairs. The young fortune-teller peered out the upper-level window down to the street below. Upon seeing Kalan, she folded her arms across her chest, allowing a small scoff to escape her lips.
"Certainly took him long enough..." She muttered, turning her back to the window as she began her walk back toward her room. "Other than tending to my shop, I now have no intention of leaving my room. That stupid harlot won't be shutting up any time soon."
--------------------
'She's definitely his kid...'
A polite smile with the potential of violence formed onto Mirela's lips as the young Hikari's words finally registered within her mind. She wasn't quite accustomed to being referred to as a type of shrubbery, certainly not a large-breasted one at that. Just as she was about to scold her for her comment, Mirela felt her entire body flinch at the sound of a very familiar voice.
'It can't really be him... Can it?'
Mirela quickly glanced around trying to find the direction that the voice had come from, and just as she was about to answer back, she let out a loud yelp, the back of her head now throbbing from her ponytail being pulled.
"H-Hey! Be more car-- !!" Mirela's words were cut off as Kalan landed where she previously had been, her heart beginning to pound rapidly. She watched as he brushed himself off and regained himself, unable to believe what she was seeing. Then, as he spoke to her, Mirela finally felt tears of joy come to her eyes. "Kalan... Its you, its really you..."
Moving forward, Mirela closed the distance between them with a tight embrace. The woman found herself overcome with joy, her heart feeling like it was ready to burst right from her chest. She had missed the feeling of being held in the arms of a loved one and was glad that she could now experience that once again. Mirela hesitated for a moment before stepping away from the embrace. She kept herself close to Kalan however, looking up at him with a gentle smile on her face as she gazed into his eyes. "Kalan... I missed you so much..."
Mirela leaned in forward, bringing her lips close to Kalan's, acting as if she was going to kiss him before quickly drawing back. Rearing her arm back, she quickly brought it forward, delivering a gentle punch to his upper arm.
"What the hell took you so long?! Seven years. Seven years, Kalan! You kept me waiting for seven years!" Mirela lightly gripped onto Kalan's shoulders and very lightly placed her lips against his, completely unaware of the set of amber eyes that had been peeking through the corner of the window behind them. She broke the kiss after a few moments and stared into his eyes, smiling brightly. "Its alright, though... I'm just glad that you're back. Promise you won't leave me again, okay?"
At that moment, the door to Inae's shop swung open, and the pitter patter of Miu's feet could be heard as she hurried out of the shop. She had seen the way Mirela had acted with Kalan, which brought her absolutely no end of happiness. All she could think of in her mind was that her father had finally come home.
"Daddy! Daddy you're here! You're finally here!" It didn't take very long for Miu to latch onto Kalan, nuzzling herself against him with the biggest smile. "I can't believe that I finally get to meet you, Daddy! Now that you're here, we can play with all of my toys and Momma will stop bein' sad!" Miu giggled a bit, opening her mouth to speak once more. "You'd better play with me, too! You've been gone for seven years, and you missed my birthdays! All eight of them!"
Mirela smiled faintly and gently pulled Miu away from Kalan before adjusting her hat and placing a hand on her head. "I should probably explain. Kalan, this is Miu. She's... Our daughter." She gave him a small look, as if saying 'I'll have to explain the rest of it to you later when she's not around.'
"She's been waiting for you to come back, just like me. Anyways, I can't just leave her out here." Mirela nodded toward the sleeping Hikari with a small smile. Glancing back up at Kalan, she thought about asking him to carry her inside, but Mirela wasn't too keen on the idea of Kalan carrying another woman. Moving over to Hikari, Mirela knelt down and, with a little bit of struggle, managed to lift Hikari into her arms.
Mirela started to step forward, however stopped when she saw a small, hooded figure in front of her. "You... You must be the one that pulled my hair. Listen, don't do it again, okay?" Stepping around the figure, Mirela caught the closing door with her foot and nudged it back open. "Come on in, there's food and tea upstairs."
'Why is she so heavy?'
Carrying Hikari over to the stairs, Mirela made an attempt to get her upstairs, and with a little more of a struggle, she was able to manage just that. Upon reaching the top of the steps, Mirela carried Hikari over to their couch, gently laying her down and placing a warm blanket over her. She then made her way back downstairs, ready to escort everyone else up.
"Teehee, come on, Daddy! Let's go upstairs and play with my toys!" The small child jumped in place and clapped her hands together before her attention finally landed on Nala. "Daddy! Daddy! Who's this?!" Multiple possibilities raced through her mind before Miu finally settled onto one. "Oooh! Did you bring me a sibling?? I've always wanted a little brother or sister, you brought me one, yay!!" Miu then wandered inside, feeling as if she was in her own little world.
--------------------
Mirela chuckled a bit and smiled at Kalan after glancing back at Miu. "Sorry about her... She's energetic and definitely a handful, but she's our little girl and I love her." With another smile, Mirela brought her attention back to Kalan, holding out her hand for him to take.
"Come on, let's go inside. We... We have a lot to talk about."

"W-why you little..."
Birth was not thoroughly unhappy with the situation, a small vein popping in her forehead as Saken's words sunk in. Had he truly implied that she, the deity of life and purity was a "lady of the night"? She placed her hand to the side of a wall in the alley way, causing a shockwave of light to explode through the alleyway towards Saken. She turned her back to the boy as rubble blasted into the alley, her cloak flaring up behind her.
Birth's eyes radiated with light as she turned her head back, her eyes piercing the boy.
"Two days boy, that's all you have to prepare."
With those words Birth vanished into a flash of light, bringing down the wall of the alley over Saken's head.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two days, that was the time limit the deity gave these two young souls, but for what? What was to happen at the end of their deadline? And why had the deity descended once more? As Hikari sleep soundly, a storm began brewing over the capitol, it's icy cold rain drops dispersing the towns people back to their homes, leaving only those foolish enough to stand in the rain left. Among them, a cloaked man stood, his dark eyes watching over the Tarot shop.

Saken remained silent keeping his attention on the woman in front of him, the thought of walking away came to mind until she moved. His eyes quickly moved to her hand and seeing the light come from it forced his full attention on her. He remained still but the darkness hovering around his hand slowly started making it's way up his arm stopping at his elbow. Seeing the light in her eyes made his darkness flicker for a moment before she spoke to him mentioning days.
He glared at her before his eyes glanced to the wall that seemed to be falling towards him. He quickly jumped back moving out of the alleyway as it crashed down where he stood. He looked at what remained of the alleyway and where the woman once stood. He let out a small sigh as the darkness faded from his arm. "Two days to prepare?" he mumbled rubbing the back of his head. "What did she mean by that?" Feeling something wet hit his hand he looked up at the sky as the rain started to fall. "Great." Turning he started running towards his destination holding one hand above his head as he made his way down the street. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unbridled joy filled Kalan as he embraced Mirela, the warmth he had left seven years ago suddenly returning. The warmth was intoxicating and he felt himself being pulled further in the longer he held her. He wanted to tell her how much he had missed her but he remained silent as she drew closer to him. He blushed and felt his body stiffen for a moment before she backed away and hit him.
Rubbing his arm he blinked a few times before rubbing the back of his head as she questioned him. Somehow explaining 'I got lost' didn't seem to be the best answer to her question. However while he tried to think of something he felt something warm touch his lips before his eyes widened. When she backed away his opened his mouth to respond when he heard a voice call out. He raised his arms as Miu hugged him before his jaw dropped at what she called him. "Daddy?" His attention went from Miu to Mirela before settling back on Miu. He ran his hand through his hair as Mirela explained who the girl was and after seeing the look in her eyes he only gave a small nod.
Nala's eyes moved from Hikari to Mirela as she spoke to her, hearing her words she narrowed her gaze at her. "Ungrateful pig woman," Kalan let out a nervous chuckle glad Miu spoke loud enough for Nala's insult to be drowned out. However his worry returned when he noticed Nala reaching in her sleeve as Miu spoke to her. He put his hand on Nala's head before looking back at Mirela, his hand formed into a claw and squeezed her skull as a silent 'behave' towards her.
Seeing her hand he smiled a little and removed his hand from Nala as the rain started falling. "I suppose we do," he said as he walked towards her. However he stopped as he picked up something quickly approaching him. He stopped and turned to see a figure running towards them through the rain. He blinked a few times before seeing it was Saken, he started to address Nala when he noticed she had already walked inside. Saken eventually caught up to Kalan, and after a few seconds of staring between the two them, Saken walked past Kalan. "Is that Mirela?" Saken asked pointing at Mirela his eyes resting on her. "Well yeah but why do you-" Kalan cut himself off as Saken walked up to Mirela before his eyes narrowed at her. "She doesn't seem all that special," he said tilting his head a little. "You over exaggerated in your explanation." Saken turned and made his way towards the shop. "I'm going to wait the rain out in here," Saken said vanishing into the house. Kalan rubbed the back of his head before turning back to Mirela, he walked into the home apologizing for getting it wet as he walked in. "It's good to see you again Mirela, I'll make sure Saken doesn't sit on anything."

Mirela's eye twitched as Saken's comment registered in her mind. 'Just who does that boy think he is??' However, before she could say anything to him, Mirela remembered that it wasn't exactly the first time a comment like that had been made to her, and it certainly wasn't the worst. When Kalan spoke to her, Mirela's anger toward Saken quickly faded away. She smiled softly, her heart still pounding from seeing Kalan again after so many years.
"No its alright, he can sit on anything he wants, just as long as its upstairs and not down here." Mirela motioned around to show that they were in a tarot shop. "Inae would kill me if anything in her shop ended up ruined. Oh, and don't worry about Saken's little...comment. It isn't any worse than being called, 'The not so fair maiden'." She chuckled a little to herself, reminiscing a little about the past before leading everyone toward the stairs leading to the main part of their home.
She watched with a smile as Miu quickly hurried up the stairs before making her way over to Kalan once more. "I'm happy to see you again too, Kalan... Words can't describe just how much I missed you. Every day I would wake up, hoping that day would be the one where I would be able to be held in your arms again." Mirela then grew quiet for a few moments. "We'll talk after everyone gets settled in, okay?"
--------------------
"Mirela!"
Mirela flinched a bit hearing Inae yelling from upstairs. She rubbed her arm and hurried up, only to be greeted by a look of pure anger. "Now, Inae.. Let me expla--"
Inae struck her hand across Mirela's face, causing her to stumble back down a few stairs. Seeing that Mirela had caught herself, her eyes narrowed, really wishing in her mind that she had fallen down the rest of the way and ended up breaking her neck. "I want that.. That.. Damn woman out of my house!" She quickly pointed back at the sleeping Hikari before her attention was drawn to the people standing in her shop.
"Oh, no. No no no no no no. They are not coming up here, I refu-- Hey!!"
"Shut the hell up, Inae. Its raining and they're not going back outside." Mirela tossed Inae over her shoulder as she made her way back up the steps, despite much protest from the tiny woman. She carried her over to the window and set her down in the chair, covering her mouth before she could yell any profanities her way. "Listen, I don't care if you kick me out after this, but they're not leaving. I know for a fact that you need my help cleaning the shop, so you can either deal with it or just find someone else willing to work for nothing."
Narrowing her eyes, Inae seemed to calm herself which caused Mirela to pull her hand back. "Fine... They can stay, but not forever. We don't have room for everyone here."
"Oh, yes we do. You and Miu can fit one more person in your bed and still have room left over. There's also the couch, which will be free once our little guest wakes up."
After letting out a small, irritated sigh, Inae gave a nod. "Alright, fine. Just make sure they stay out of my way."
Mirela gave a nod of her own before making her way to the top of the stairs and motioning for everyone to come up. "I'm really sorry about that. Everything's fine now, no need to worry." She rubbed her cheek, feeling like it was going to end up bruised.
Glancing between Mirela and Inae for a few moments, Miu scrunched her nose and puffed out her cheeks before running back downstairs. "Daddy! Daddy! Carry me!" She stood in front of him with her arms reaching up toward him, bouncing in place a little. "Pretty pretty please? I've always wanted you to carry me, but you were never around." She pouted a little before smiling and giggling a bit. "Carry me! Carry me! Carry me, Daddy!"

"Mirela....shut the hell up"
The words slipped from Hikari's lips as if they had been said a hundred times over. Hikari slowly rose, a hand lifting to grip her forehead as a small exhausted sigh left her. For a small moment, Hikari's body sheened over with light, dissipating back into her body. She took in a deep breath before looking around her surroundings, her eyes trying to focus themselves as she took in the images. Her eyes scanned the room before they locked onto Inae. She let out a small, tired chuckle before continuing to scan the room. As her eyes met Kalan however, she stopped. Her eyes widened as she stared at the man, a dark mist radiating from his body, as if the tendrils of evil had gripped his soul. As she stared, it felt as if she could feel it, deep inside her, it's presence almost familiar. Hikari quickly pushed the thoughts aside, the mist vanishing as she blinked.
"That...darkness around you...who's is it? It feels as if...I know them."
Hikari stood, her confusion and interest apparent on her face as she staggered to Kalan, her body still exhausted from her trial. As she looked at him, she felt as if he too was all too familiar, as if she had the urge to make him explode where he stood. The thought frightened yet intrigued Hikari as she stepped closer.
"Have we met somewhere?"

Kalan rubbed the back of his head and chuckled a little ashamed at the old comment. Seeing Inae made him smile though he quickly turned his gaze seeing she was upset deciding to greet her later. He was happy to see the two siblings were still together, he crossed his arms as he could feel something start to swell up inside his chest. The bonds of two siblings and the love they share within their warm yet strangely decorated home. A small child to share in the affection of the two sisters, as their hearts keep them warm to the cold and darkened world around them. Such a pure and strong willed struggle touched him and made a grin find it's way onto his face.
However as he heard the smack and listened their conversation the warmth that surrounded him seemed to fade before he cleared his throat and looked at Saken. He turned his attention back to Mirela seeing her touch her cheek, he went to say something but stopped seeing Miu. He stared down at the young girl as she called to him, he was silent as a series of responses ran through his mind to the child's request. He was unsure of his relation to her and on top of that Mirela seemed to be keeping something from her. However in the end he couldn't resist the urge and he lifted Miu up into the air. After a moment he brought her in closer and made sure not to drop her before smiling a little. "Ah you're too adorable I just can't help myself," Kalan hugged Miu and laughed a little but stopped feeling eyes on him. His eyes moved over to Saken and Nala who were shaking their heads at him. "I see now why Nala stays a few feet from you," "Sickening,"
Seeing Hikari Kalan set Miu down and turned to face her, he wanted to question her but didn't feel right doing it right as she was waking up. He reached up and rubbed the side of head trying to think of something to say when she spoke first. Listening to the girl he remained still watching her movements, when she mentioned darkness his eyebrow arched at her. "Not many can see it," he said keeping his attention on her. At her other question he remained silent unsure how to respond to it, though a part of him wanted to believe they had. Looking at her he knew he didn't recognize her appearance at the very least. After a few minutes he acknowledged he had never met this girl before but her presence seemed familiar too him. "I-" he started to respond when a voice spoke first. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Kalan," Saken said interrupting him. Saken had remained silent while Kalan spoke with the people around them. Looking at him befriending if it could be called that caused him no end of discomfort, and on top of that this new girl mentioned Kalan's darkness. He could ignore the one known as Mirela since she wasn't right in front of him and Nala was normally quiet. However it was hard to ignore the two's conversation and the energetic Miu all at the same time. "If you're going to continue this conversation would you go to another room?"
Kalan's eye twitched but he looked at Hikari before speaking to her. "We have never met before but I am Kalan Theodore Valadres. The warrior of Justice and Love. I halt injustice and spread love through my journey to find my loved one." "Haven't you find her though?" Saken asked looking at him. "Well yeah...but I haven't changed my speech yet." Saken reached up and rubbed his forehead remembering why he hated company. "Pig," Nala said looking over at Mirela. "I'm hungry bring me something," Kalan pulled Nala's hood down before punching her on the top of her head. "Behave Nala we're in someone's home. Now address Mirela properly." Nala rubbed the top of her head and turned to look at Mirela once more. "Miss Pig-" "Kalan punch!" Saken flinched at the impact of Kalan fist and watched as Nala rubbed her head. "Defending such a repulsive woman..." Saken watched as Nala walked away from the group before letting out a small sigh and looked towards the ceiling before closing his eyes. The sound of the rain hitting the windowsill calmed his slowly rising anger at his environment. He took in a deep breath and cleared his mind his eyes glancing over at Nala. She was a physical example of what would happen if he didn't choose his next words wisely, with Kalan around punishment would be swift if he messed up. He contemplated his next move before opening his eyes and looking back at Hikari. "Name's Saken, I'd prefer to stay strangers so just stay over there." Kalan heaved a small sigh but that was the best he would be able to get out of the boy. "Be glad your mother isn't here." "Don't mention that annoying hag around me." Kalan turned back to Hikari and smiled a little bit before rubbing the back of his head. "Sorry about him." Kalan gave her a small wave before making his way to Mirela. "Is your cheek okay," Kalan asked leaning to the side a little bit. "It seems Inae is as lively as ever."

Miu squealed happily when she was lifted into Kalan's arms, glad that she was finally able to meet him. Now, in her mind, every day would be filled with happiness, toys, games, and candy. Lots of candy. She giggled when he called her adorable, but as her 'father' set her back down onto the ground, the small child let out a slight, high-pitched whine. "Daddy, pay attention to me! Pick me up again!"
"Oh just leave the idiot alone already. I should probably specify which one since I'm in a room full of them, but you get the general idea. You're going to drive him off if you're not careful." Inae let out a small sigh and smoothed out her skirt before rising to a stand and moving toward the stairs leading down to her shop. "You know, that darkness explains what I saw that day. I actually don't regret looking."
"What are you talking about?"
"Mind your own business, harlot." Inae started to make her way down the stairs, but stopped and glanced back at Hikari. "Listen, don't get too comfortable here. You're out the moment the rain stops. The same goes for the rest of you." Shaking her head, she made her way down the steps before sitting down at the table, waiting for a customer that probably wouldn't show.
--------------------
"I wonder what she could have meant by that..." Mirela thought for a moment before putting it in the back of her mind. Smiling at Kalan, she touched her cheek once more, holding back a small wince. "My cheek is fine, just a little sore. I'm used to it, Inae does this often. She doesn't want to hit Miu, so whenever she gets upset at her it gets taken out on me. She really is a good person... Just tiny and angry all the time."
Mirela brought her attention to Nala, trying to ignore the fact that she had been called a pig. "If you're hungry, help yourself to the kitchen," She gave a small nod over to small kitchen across the room. "Feel free to take anything you like. That goes for everyone else in here, too. You're all welcome to stay here, please ignore my little sister."
Miu made her way over to Hikari, curiously stopping in front of her. She glanced up at her and outstretched her arms, giggling happily. "Since Daddy is busy with Momma, will you pick me up? You're really pretty by the way, a lot prettier than Momma!
Hearing that comment from Miu, Mirela felt a little bit of anger begin to rise once more. "Is... Is that so, Miu?" Shaking her head, Mirela stepped closer to Kalan before hugging his arm tightly. "You do act just like him, but try to show a little respect to the woman that sat by your side after that little event occurred, okay? I didn't have to bring you in here, but just know you will have help whenever you need it. You won't have to fight alone."
Mirela smiled up at Kalan for a moment before she stepped even closer, resting her head on his shoulder. If there really only was two days left before the world was thrown into darkness, she wanted to preserve all the happiness that she could before then, to make sure that it would never be taken from her.
--------------------
As Inae sat in the darkness of her small shop, her emerald eyes gazed out the window at the rain, kept out of silence only by the rhythmic tapping on the glass. The tiny fortune-teller reached over to a stack of cards that rested on the table, lifting a single card up off of the top. Just as she was about to turn it over, a small sigh escaped her lips. Inae returned the card to its place and pushed the cards off to the side a little bit.
Feeling as if she wasn't going to get any customers at all, Inae lowered her head to the table, letting out a small groan. Why was she always getting stuck with the idiots?
