Kilgrim watched as the girl lost her footing and fell face first into the sand, he sprinted as fast as his bloodly short legs could go, which was pretty fast considering his build and what he was carrying with him.
Kilgrim growled in rage in replay to the girls scream for help as he slammed the blunt side of his custom pick into the sides of the dogs, the cracking of bones echoed as they soon where sent skipping across the sand of the beach like a stone skipping along the surface of the water.
"Get off her ya bloodly flea ridden furry bastards!"

Mikka was crying and shaking with a few new bite marks and claw marks on her. Looking up at the short male that just saved her, her eyes where fulled with tears to the brim. "thank you" she said slow sitting up, "please don't take mikka back to master..he hurt mikka." As she sat up the link on her collar dinged against the cold metal that look like it had years of wear on it. As she sat there her ears twitched again as she hear the small group of slavers getting close and her tail puffed out scared.

"Ya just stay with ol Kilgrim lass and ya be fine and safe as a ale in a dwarfs hand"
Kilgrim said lifting up his custom pick and resting it against his shoulder as she walked past Mikka and stood behind her now standing in front of her in the group coming towards them, in there view and in there way to get to Mikka.
Kilgrim took a long drag on his cigar, the ash falling off the end and falling to the sand as a large exhale of smoke escaped his teeth as he stroked his beard with his other hand watching as the group got closer, getting ready to teach the buggers a lesson in pain.

Mikka smiled and began to rub the tears out of her eyes and rubbed her nose do to the smoke from the cigar. She took her tail and used it to wipe her face and hid behind. She did this often when she was scared and she had every right to be right now.

As the group got closer they stopped and walked as the saw the dogs. They did not like see the dogs dead or the slave hidding. "Hey short stuff the fox is are bosses slave" one said pointing at Kilgrim. "not only that you are going to have to pay for our dogs" other said, "they are not cheap to get and raise." "come here B***** master going to skin you for what you did to the clients" other shouted at mikka.

That single word 'Short' instantly made one of Kilgrims eyes crunch up while the other opened up wide twitching as red veins appears around the outside of his eye, clearly already about to rage.
"Thats fragging it! ya bastards are going die for calling me short!"
Kilgrim yelled out in rage lifting up his custom pickaxe and leaping at one of the men in the group, sending a swing for the side of his knee with the blunt side of the pick, swinging with enough force to shatter a boulder easily.

Some of the group fell back but the one that was aimed agt let out a loud murders scream as his bone broke and his leg came flying off at the knee. "His F*** insane lets get out of her and tell the boss" One said as she scrambled on the sand to run out of there. The others just nodded but stared at what just happened as the one screamed and pain and rolled around int eh sand lossing blood.

Kilgrim lifted up his pickaxe and slammed the hilt down into the sand as he growled angrily as he took a long drag from his cigar, exhaling the smoke towards the group of slavers.
"Pick that trash up ya gits and beat it! before my pick gets ah swinging again! ya hear me ya soft skulls!"
Kilgrim roared at them, wanting them to pick up there screaming buddy and get the hell away from the beach and the young fox girl behind him.

Kilgrim waited till they where gone to turn around and check up on the girl, giving her a big toothy smile with his cigar between his teeth on the left side of his mouth.
"Ya okay young one?"

Mikka just watched with wide eyes as she tail puffed out and she froze wher she sat. The men did as he said and took there screaming friend away. "Mikka all right now but Mikka scared." she said, "They will come back they always do...but Mikka thank you for helping her." she smiled and cleaned the rest of the sand and tears off ehr eyes as she held a hand out to him. "Names Mikka" she said smiling as she tail unpuffted and started to wag.

Kilgrim smiled as he put his slammed the handle of his pickaxe into the sand and then wiped his hand down the side of his leg before reaching it out and took her smaller hand in his big, strong, hard leather gloved hand.

"Well if ya scared little one just stay with ol Kilgrim, I'll make sure your safe and that those bastards will leave you alone"

Kilgrim said with a grin letting go of her hand and picking up his pickaxe and leaning it over his bulky shoulder as he took other draw of his cigar, thinking of how to keep this young girl safe while he still continued to look for an area with plenty of ore and his main goal of finding a cavern filled with special ore or crystals.

"Really?" Mikka said smiling as her tail wagged, "Mikka can go with you?" she liked the sound of that and it would be away form her curl old master. "Mikka like that a lot Mikka go with you, sir Kilgrim " she said going to give him a hug.

The look on Kilgrim's face was priceless and yet expected of someone who spent there life alone and working day in and day out mining, crafting and forging and only stopping to eat, drink and sleep.
His face looks so grumpy and stubborn like a crude carving of his face into stone. But he sighed it was for this girls sack that he would let her hug him 'this once' he thought to himself before reaching out and breaking the hug after a short second or two.

"Lass it an't 'Sir' Killgrim it just be Killgrim and I an't going anywhere yet until I find out which way to a goddam city, a good cold ale and some bloodly new clothes for ya lass, don't wan ya walking around in those toren rags"

Kilgrim spoke to her in a rather harsh but yet calm tone and ending his ranting with a grin, a rather happy grin to let her know he wasn't angry at her or having ago at her and just being grumpy himself.

Mikka looked at him funny as her ears twitched before she looked at her self. Her clothes where fine in her mind. she had worn outfits like this all the time. "all right Killgrim" Mikka said getting to ehr feet and dusting the sand off, "Town is that way." she pointed back along the way she came and the men had run off to.

Kilgrim grumbled as it appears the nearest town was where those thugs had run back too and mostly where they had Mikka, he should of known that the nearest town was where those thugs had come from but it had never crossed his mind, he had actally thought Mikka had ran away from some caravan transporting her to a town, shows how much he knew about the world.

"that way aye?, most likely gonna run into more of those tossers that where after ya lass, but I can handle em and keep ya safe from em as easy as making a simple suit of iron armor".

Really she was going to have a hard time understanding him but she just nodded and smiled. "they were staying at the docks with the big ships" Mikka said as her tail swayed, "they said staying too far in town would get people to call the law." Walking she watched her footing and started to led the way. "you follow Mikka" she siad

"Guess we wont be running into them then while we're in town then lass, but still gonna keep ya little furry butt safe from anyone wanting ya"


Kilgrim said as he puts his pick over his shoulder and began to follow Mikka with his short stubby legs, his booted feet sinking into the sand somewhat from his own weight. Kilgrim pulls out a small red gems cut perfectly into a smooth tear shape, running his finger along the lengh of it to the tip, where a small flame appears, which Killgrim uses to relight his cigar.
