Slightly irritated that his culture was continuing to be used as a way to "exoticize" Wai-lo party blessings, he was still glad to hear something good came about that day. "This small place shames my ancestral home." A waitress in a long Qipao approaches the table and gives Shayla a menu. Yu says to the Waitress "Gěi tā zhēnzhèng de ròu."

Mr. Yu gave her a patient smile. "In that case, may I suggest you try the Hunan Duck?" He point's to a selection on the menu. "It is a duck seasoned with peppercorn served with rice and rolls. Spicy, but very savory." It was far from the most expensive thing on the menu, but it was his favorite dish and he knew the cook would do well.

Another smile from Yu. This time there was a brief hesitation and the smile was obviously forced. "Yes. He is fine. There was a small incident but the matter is being resolved."

Mr. Yu considers the fire in the young woman's eyes for a moment. He leans in and then in a soft tone says
"It is true, life for some in this country is cheap, but life back in my beloved homeland is cheaper still." A mournful look crosses his face as he says this.
"This city will never see as much blood as the lands of my forebears. Thousands of years of war drench the land. Because of our foolishness China is 'The Poor-man of Asia'. Our land is taken by the Germans and the French and the British and the Japanese while men like this city's Capone live as the emperors of the past while they spill the blood of innocents so they may play soldier."
He pauses and takes some tea, his appearance changing to a kinder face. "There is little we can do, save use what little pull we have to alter the course for the better." He thinks to his shipment now on it's way to China. He takes another sip of tea.

After that the food comes. A bowl of soup for the master of the house and the spiced duck for the lady. The aroma of the fowl contains tea and black pepper, the flavor perfectly seasoned. The pepper giving the duck just the right amount of bite. Yu slurps his tea and soup both and considers his guest's rage. He wouldn't ask about the source. It would be improper, but he didn't wish ill or misfortune on this young lady. He continues on with the meal, deep in contemplation and silence.

The meal went by in continued silence. After both parties finished their respective meals Yu politely excuses himself and disappears into the lower level. "I have business to attend to. I hope you enjoyed the meal."

Shortly after he left a man approaches Shayla. "Mr. Yu has asked me to tell you not to worry about your bill, and to give you this..." Inside a small bit of wrapped paper was a small jade coin of a lion surrounded by seven clouds. with it was also a note. It simply said "You have friends in Chinatown, should you ever need them."

Gerulf drives into a parking spot right outside the restaurant. He gets out and opens the lady's door and guides her into the restaurant. "Ze food here ist gut."
