After Mr. Lo's exposition he begins to show Shayla the various silks he has. Some are lower quality, but quite a few are of exceptional quality. Mr. Yu leans in next to her. "I am surprised you bothered to write that down. Most would not be so..." He pauses, thinking of the right words to use, "...eager to learn about our culture."

Shayla Fagan Shayla smiled "knowledge is power so they say, Mr. Yu. Why bother to ask a question if not to use the knowledge that is offered?" She asked him as she looked at the back of the cloth bolt to see the weave pattern.

As the young lady continues to chat with Mr. Lo a man rushes in hurriedly bowwing to Mr. Yu and says something in chinese. Mr. Yu's expression changes and he turns to Shayla. "Miss Shayla, I am afraid that buissiness is calling me away. In apology for this get anything you like. I shall reimburse Mr. Lo personally." With a courteous bow to the young lady and the shop keeper Mr. Yu follows the other man out of the shop.

Shayla Fagan Shayla watched and was not sure what was going on, but she tipped her head when Mr. Yu, left. Then she turned to Mr. Lo. "If I do not accept his offer, how insulting would that be?" She asked the man who had been helping her.

Mr. Lo, Tailor. Mr. Lo looks at her in a manner that is both kind and appraising. "Mr. Yu is a very powerful man. It would be very discourteous to not accept. He has shamed himself by bringing you on an outing and not staying. He has also shamed himself by bringing you before me and leaving you with me, an inconvenience. He must make amends. So he offers you a gift and he gives me business."

Shayla Fagan "I see, well then I shall take whatever you would normally use for your New Year's festival, and I thank-you for your help. Here is my card if there is anything else you think I should know for festival preparation." She said sweetly. Internally she thought dear God I have accepted help form a gang leader, I am sunk. "Where might I find him so that I might thank him later?" She thought to ask as she waited for him to assemble the bolts of silk for her to leave.

Mr. Lo, Tailor. Mr. Lo gathers some things for her, some of which are fairly expensive, and tells her that she can find him at the Won Kow Restaurant, "... but you may want to stay out of chinatown for a while. Mr. Yu's son was... in an accident, and there will be more accidents to follow."

Shayla Fagan Shay nodded she was familiar with accidents her brothers and father had one. She had seen to it that the man responsible had his own, it was the way of the world in these unhappy times. "I will pray for his sons swift recovery. Tell Mr. Yu he has my gratitude for his help." She said as she took her bundle and headed out to find a subway and get herself back to the apartment. She still had to get that spare key for Brian as it was. Besides if accidents were to be happening she would prefer not to see, people who did not see or hear tended to live longer.

Dietrich Heimbrecht German Mob Lieutenant (soldier) Heimbrecht sat listening to Eichmann, but his eyes kept dancing back to Heidi. He knew what Eichmann wanted to do, his military mind had understood that much. It made sense, water was the key to everything. He knew that the Rail Yards were too far from their headquarters and warehouses for them to logically secure them at this point, and that a push towards the docks would be much more prudent. With that in mind he toned it out knowing that the explanation was primarilly meant for König than him. As the meeting broke Heimbrecht instintively came to attention before walking out and escorting Heidi to their car to drive the short distance from the German area of town to the Chinese market. Everything looked normal, as Heimbrecht kept his pistol under his coat as he walked with her allowing her to pick what fruits and things she needed. His eyes were ever vigilant but not to the point where it would be suspicious. As they walked Heimbrecht took note of a few Opium Dens, but didn’t say anything. A warm smile from her brought one from him as he watched her, remembering how wonderful it was when they used to be together. They had visted countless markets in Berlin before the war and it had been wonderful to just be the two of them, “Bringt eine Menge Erinnerungen an die Berliner Märkte.“ (Brings back memories of the Berlin Markets) He said with a soft smile, his voice quiet, and his tone kind as they walked, „Das Leben schien so viel einfacher damals.“ (Life seemed so much simpler back then.)

Heidi Eichmann German Mob-Secret Underboss Heidi smiled at him as if they were teenagers in love again bringing back the memories at the market. She remembered her favorite dresses she used to wear as a teenager when she was with him. She remembered wearing her favorite ivory and champagne dress with a square neckline which was tight at the waste and flowed out at the bottom. She loved that dress but it got lost in the move. She was both happy and said remembering these memories. She remembered strolling with him, laughing like a school girl, and smiling ear to ear. They used to buy peaches and go for walks in the field just beside the market and have a few romantic moments before returning home to her parents where they could not be as romantic or physical. "Oh erinnerst du dich? Ich dachte, du hättest vergessen. Erinnern Sie sich an unsere wunderbare Spaziergänge, Essen Pfirsiche, und mit Spaziergängen auf dem Gebiet nur in der Nähe des Marktes in Berlin?" Oh do you remember? I thought you had forgotten. Do you remember our wonderful strolls, eating peaches, and having walks in the field just near the market in Berlin?

Dietrich Heimbrecht German Mob Lieutenant (soldier) A warm smile came to Heimbrecht's face as Heidi spoke, “Aber natürlich erinnere ich mich. Das waren die besten Tage meines Lebens, vor den dunklen Zeiten ... vor dem Krieg.“ (But of course I remember. Those were the best days of my life, before the dark times... before the war.) Honestly he wanted to say that it was her marriage that had ended those wonderful days, but the thought of making her feel guilty about something that he didn’t know if she was enjoying or not, was something he just couldn’t do. However as she mentioned the walks in the fields with the peaches a warmth ran through his body making him gaze at her as she smiled at him, those feelings of boyish romance returning to him, "Ich erinnere mich ganz gut. Diese Spaziergänge auf dem Felde waren, was mich getröstet auf viele eine Nacht an der Front.“ ( I remember it very well. Those walks in the fields were what comforted me on many a night on the front). An even warmer and slightly suggestive smile came to his lips as his eyes beamed at her, taking in her fair skin, golden hair, and longing to recall the taste of her beautiful lips, "Erinnerst du dich, was wir sonst auf den Feldern zu tun pflegte?“ (Do you remember what else we used to do in the fields?)

Heidi Eichmann German Mob-Secret Underboss Heidi smiled back at him but she was beginning to pull away because she wanted to endure it but at the same time didn't. She was so lost and confused and didn't know what to do. "Ja, ich erinnere mich. Ich war, dass immer, aber ich wollte, diskret zu sein darüber." (Yes, I do remember. I was getting at that but I wanted to be discreet about it). Even though they spoke Chinese she still felt uncomfortable. She had to decide quickly because she could feel the sexual tension between the two building to an unbearable capacity where she needed to decide to keep her distance or submit. This has been a topic she had been thinking about for days but couldn't quiet come up with a solution. Also the past few days Eichmann had been very short with her, fighting with her, if not outright ignoring her and being consumed with his work.

Dietrich Heimbrecht German Mob Lieutenant (soldier) Heimbrecht nodded and laughed slightly bringing a bit of attention from an older Chinese man who was sitting infront of a shop, “Heidi, wann war das letzte Mal, dass ich war diskret über alles?“ (Heidi, when was the last time I was discreet about anything?) He laughed a bit more as they kept walking. He could feel the tension and it was driving him mad at times. He was loyal to his boss, his commanding officer, but he couldn’t deny his love for Heidi. After all, Heidi had been his first love, she’d been the first one he’d opened his heart to and then, through no fault of either of them, she had been snatched away and given to Reinhard Eichmann. Heimbrecht also couldn’t deny the building tension between them but he would be damned if he would submit to it without her. However if given the opportunity, Heimbrectht knew that he would submit, he would give himelf to her, regardless of the reprocussions of such a decision. He walked with his hands in his pockets while Heidi shopped, admiring everything about her, from the soft sound of her voice, to the soft curves of her body, even the glow of her hair. "Haben Sie jemals daran gedacht, über ... was zwischen uns gewesen? Was könnte in diesen Bereichen geschehen?“ (Do you ever think about... what could have been between us? What could have happened in those fields?)

Heidi Eichmann German Mob-Secret Underboss Heidi smiled and laughed a little at the Asians who clearly knew German heard what they were saying. "Ich glaube, sie verstehen Deutsch." (I think they understand German.) Then she went on to think of their memories in the fields. "Ja, ich erinnere mich, was wir taten. Es waren wunderbare Zeiten. So wonderful manchmal versuche ich zu vergessen. Nur wenn ich allein bin lasse ich mich erinnern. Erst dann kann ich frei sein Urteilsvermögen und erfüllen meine Fantasie und Träume in meinem Kopf. Ich weiß allerdings, wie es sein könnte zu denken, aber es scheint so aussichtslos. Ich weiß nicht, was Sie suggesing." (Yes I remember what we did. Those were wonderful times. So wonderful at times I try to forget. Only when I am alone do I let myself remember. Only then can I be free of judgement and fullfil my fantasy and dreams in my mind. I do however think of how it could be but it seems so hopeless. I don't know what you are suggesting.) She said this fearful of admitting to herself and to him her deepest secrets.

Dietrich Heimbrecht German Mob Lieutenant (soldier) Heimbrecht looked at Heidi and then at the Asian man narrowing his eyes for a moment before looking back at her listening to her, his heart racing as she said that she would allow herself to remember only when she was alone and could allow her fantasies to run wild. It made him curious, but was he ready to lay it all out on the line? She had to know how he felt, it hadn’t changed in twenty years. What was he suggesting? Did he even know anymore? He shrugged as they ducked out of another shop, “Ich weiß nicht, was ich ehrlich gesagt hindeutet.“ (I don't know what I'm suggesting honestly.) Heimbrecht sai das they walked slowly, "Wollen Sie kommen zurück in meine Wohnung, in Erinnerungen an alte Zeiten bekämpft werden?“ ( Would you be opposed to coming back to my apartment, reminiscing about old times?) Heimbrecht wasn’t sure if she’d actually accept, he didn’t know what she’d think oft he invitation. This could ruin the friendship they’d managed to hold onto, or it could make it something so much more. He didn’t know.. he didn’t know what she would say.
