Did anyone else hear that? Ishild did. That was the sound of her heart melting. It was probably for the best that the only thing around here actually made of ice was her spit, or there'd be a very messy puddle on the ground.
She would do everything in her power to protect this wide-eyed floofball. She would do all the things. All of them. He wouldn't be more than a mouthful to any large monster. But... he was a student. That meant he was like her, here for training. Now she was conflicted. It wasn't like he was an upperclasman or anything, right? That would be awkward.
The barioth offered her own hand, and gave a good firm shake, mindful of her claws. "Nice to meet you, Jove!" She even smiled, though her prominent fangs obscured the subtle twitch of her lips.
And now to the next part. "I.. uhh... don't really know anybody here. Or at all. Do you?" She scratched the back of her head, tail twitching to betray her nervousness. "We need more partners for our group." She turned her attention back to the other students, staring intently. If Jove had no suggestions, she'd wing it. After all, her first attempt had gone well and that buoyed her spirits for the moment.

In truth the bus ride almost made him sick. Why the teacher didn't just have them run he didn't know. Running would have much better, exercise plus no winding roads to get sick on. When it finally came to a stop, the wolfos got off the bus as fast as he could. Cars or buses? No thank you. He preferred boats or trains if anything at all. The teacher got a half look as King tried to right himself from the ride. He was going to ask if he could run home when this was all said and done. So what if it took longer? He didn't want back on that bus again if he could help it.
Tail flicking back and forth, King listened barely catching the bit about large minipets. Red flare, green flare, darts- simple. He didn't quite grasp the point of relocating them if they just planned to migrate again. They would be better harvested in his opinion. Cocking his head slightly, sickness wearing off, King gingerly grabbed one of the leather packs. Looking to Malcolm the wolfos raised his hand. "Sir would it be possible, for those of us with poor aim, to use our natural forms? I'm terrible with aimed things, but when it comes to tracking and chasing things, I'm much better suited to my natural form."
Grey Dragon I would guess yes due to the guide but ICly need da answers ouo

West listened with a surprising level of concentration, and his interest only grew as the professor continued speaking.
Capture. Tranquilize. Gun. West enjoyed the implications of these words very much. When the catbus stopped and they were all free to leave, West turned to address the tatzel, but she was already slinking past him, well on her way down the aisle. He wasn't at all sure what had come over her, but as he had done only once before in recent memory, West was content to watch rather than act, even when he saw her sniffing on... was that a fish? Oh, well, yeah. That explained it. The demon would have probably tried to stop her eventually if things had gone too far, but she seemed to have the situation under control. Or maybe Riley did.
He peered at the mindflayer, wondering if she remembered him or that time they went to the patch. He had heard she couldn't recall any of her life before she had turned to stone. He hoped it was true.
With one last look at where they had been sitting to see if either of them had forgotten anything, West filed off of the bus, picking up a pack before finally venturing back to Levi's side. "Yeah," he agreed. "Sounds good." He dropped his bag onto the ground, digging through it curiously. Flares, a pumpkin pill, a sleeping bag. Hm. How long was this going to take?

Gilly woke up from the ride and drool was dripping down her face into a giant puddle. She quickly turned away from the other students and tried to wipe her face clean without anyone noticing. As she was doing it her face started to make squeaking noises from all the rubbing, her face went red with embarrassment. She turned back around to see if anyone had noticed. Right in front of her face, sniffing her, was another one of the students. Gilly's eyes went wide and started to water a bit.
"Oh God, she must think I'm a weirdo." Gilly was thinking to herself as she tried to get the last bits of drool without squeaking her face. But the catish girl didn't flinch and just told her it was time "ta'head'on out"! Gilly opened her mouth to respond but before Gilly even had a chance to speak another one of the students - (The regal one, that looked like an octopus. ((Gilly liked octopuses, their suckers always make little rings when she takes them off her body.)) ) - had taken her hand and was leading her out of the bus.
This was all pretty confusing, but she liked that the other student seemed to know what she was doing. Gilly was a bit awestruck and stood and nodded as the other student talked to her. Even though she had been asked a question, it didn't really process, and she just continued to look and nod in approval of whatever was being said to her.

Missing the initial chance, Levi watched West hoist his bag up and walk over to her, deciding she should get her own. She walked past the wrath demon over to the pile herself and retrieved a bag as well, smiling all the while. Crouching to open her own bag with the boil, Levi noted the pumpkin pill. Those were never really a good sign, but rather than think the worst, the tatzel considered something a bit more optimistic about this. Ain't gonna be no walk in'tha woods, looks like.
Something around still smelled delicious, but the ghoul chalked it up to being her fishy peer from on the bus. Best to try and ignore it. The tatzel was trying very -very- hard.
Yin had then approached them, inquiring about their group situation. It wasn't a problem for Levi. If the boil was confident her could hold his own, she wasn't about to stop him from trying. Something told her he wasn't the usual fighting sort; more of a gentleman. Levi glanced to West before answering the weremantis, as if searching him for any reason why he might not agree to such a partnering. However, Levi immediately gave him her approval anyway. She was rather curious about what this boil was capable of, even if they were just using guns.
Sure fine by me, boil! Let's make sure we're all packed n' good n' we'll get'on started, eh? Them critters ain't goin' nowhere by themselves. C'mon over'ere! It was just the tiniest piece of farmlife she'd experience in her own town, herding. Levi was ready to lock and load, picking up her gun and examining it. Hmm... so it's just'a point n' shoot sorta thing. Levi had fired cannons before and various guns through school activities, but as always, mechanics weren't her best subject. Placing the gun beside her, Levi peeked into her bag more. Sleeping bags; pinching at the fabric, Levi's mind wandered to War Isle memories. Eyes shifted to West just before the tatzel shoved the thing back into the depths of the bag. Stay on the challenge, focus on the goal, ghoul.
It didn't help that there was still that delicious smell, which only seemed to get stronger as she went through the bag.
Right. RIGHT. Critters. Set to snooze and capture. She continued fiddling with whatever else was in the bag. The flares were mentioned by the Professor, so those were good to note as present. Flares check... oh aye, what're- Levi's eyes went wide again. Floresce Fillets were packed away in the bag, looking up at her and pleading: we're here~ eat us~
That was when Levi zipped her pack back up. WELL~ everythin' looks good in'ere! yeeeep! The ghoul's tail twisted and coiled like she was holding her breath. She needed a change in thought, staring between the two boils like nothing at all had occurred. Critters. Hunting without harming. That was the challenge at hand.

Although he had already come to the conclusion that their instructor anticipated this trip would last longer than a single day, or even night, West was slightly concerned about the very apparent lack of food in these packs. Yes, he enjoyed a nice, braised side of pathling and the occasional order of fried mashers, but he'd never had to catch them himself. Maybe Levi could go all rawr and pummel something dead, although she might have the opposite problem he anticipated he would. Giant tatzel paws and tails were probably more likely to vaporize a minipet than leave something worth chewing on. At least they had... matches and a pot. Greeeeat.
Their prospects began to brighten slightly at Yin's approach. The boil could fight and presumably he had another form he could turn into with those fingers and antennae. Maybe weremantises were good hunters too. "I dun have a problem with it either," West replied. He had reached the bottom of his bag, but right before he started repacking everything he had strewn on the ground, he noticed them. Floresce fillets. Well, at least it was something. And technically, they didn't need food, he just really, really didn't like the idea of not having any. His stomach very nearly growled at the thought.
West looked up, and when he caught Levi eyeing him he made a point of peering over at her while she shoved all her stuff back into her pack. Why was she...? Oh. First the fishy student and now the fishy... fish. West bit his lip to keep from smirking. He wanted to ask her if he should carry those fish fillets for her so very much, but he knew she'd likely just get defensive and say no. Besides, with Yin grouping up with them, there would be no room at all for any of this boilfriend/ghoulfriend nonsense. With all of the times their lives had been in jeopardy recently, he had kind of let the whole 'cutesy in public' thing get out of hand. A very small part of him wondered if it was worth keeping things secret when they could get zapped and murdered by hunters seemingly at any moment, but the rest of him simply refused to even consider the notion. It would not be a problem here. He was not cute.
With his things back in place, West lifted his bag onto his back. He hadn't brought anything else with him onto the bus, so as far as he was concerned, he was good to go. The field. All right.
"'Kay. Let's get outta here."
ramenli he once gave a piggyback ride through the mountains... bring it awn XD
