 Isolde Callaway "hmm true enough and between you two boys bandits could be easily dispatched, and being in the city means I would have better access to various specimens for research purposes...." Callaway stated by rote. "But, if I am to go with you I want to know who you are by more than name. You seem to well trained to have been just a civilian are you an SRC soldier or something?"

Alan Wagner Alan runs his hand through his hair and tilts his head. "Well yeah, I'm a Lieutenant in SRC Special Forces. It's been a bit of a mess lately with some of the organization running off with the psycho that I mentioned earlier." He tilts his head and crosses his arms and thought about what she mentioned. "What sort of specimens do you collect anyways?" He raised his eyebrow curious as he wondered exactly what she used to do at that bio lab before things fell apart.

Isolde Callaway "The infected, I was sent here to do work on cataloging the indigenous species. the spore which infected this planet is not unprecedented. There was something similar back on Earth but the biggest thing that took out was ants. This took over everything. I was working on on a inoculation against it...we...we all were." She said uncomfortably shifting her eight and drawing a deep breath. "But there seems to be n way back, the fungus's cilia infest every cell of the host and shut off access to the higher brain leaving only survival instinct." Isolde continued on but her voice was shaky. "The spore was being studied but the miners had it on their clothes, people were infested but they guessed the wrong source......." She could not finish te sentence she could feel the heat from the flames when she thought about those last days hear the screams..see the faces...

Alan Wagner He thought for a bit and nodded. "Good point, there probably are lots of infected in there." He noticed the darker turn of the conversation and crosses his arms with a slight frown. "More of you? Are you okay?" He listened as she continued but started falling apart a bit. He stepped a bit closer and grabbed her arms gently. "It's alright, I know things have been rough around here." He released her and gave her an encouraging smile as he turned towards the city wall. "Let's just take this one day at a time, are there any supplies in particular you need? First we need to get into the city though."

Isolde Callaway You let them die she thought and resisted the urge to reach out and smack him the lab had called to the SRC forces nd no help had ever come the lab was over run by looters and rioters most were beaten to death, the fire got the rest a collapsing wall had sealed off the lower level of the lab allowing her to live and continue the work. "I need a level surface, several chemicals, surgical set, and microscope just to start, I have the more detailed list in my data console. it lists everything but it will take months to make up a lab again....' She trialed off and swallowed hard. "Although there really isn't anything here worth the effort of preserving now is there?" Isolde finally had the loss of her home catch up with her, it was all she had to connect her to her lost friends and now her adrenaline was gone and she had time to think. Slumping down she sat at the base of an enormous mushroom and tried to collect herself.

Alan Wagner Alan frowned slightly as she slumped against the base of a mushroom and walked over to her taking a seat on a root before her. "I really, truly, honestly don't know what to say." He ran his fingers through his hair tiredly. "The colony is a mess, I don't think we can truly ever fix it, I doubt it's a good idea to have ANY sort of colony on this planet really. If there's a way we can get survivors off this planet though I'm going to do my damndest to try." He gave her his best look of resolve before continuing. "Right now our goal is to make it to safety. Once we're safe we can start working on a lab for you if you really want to continue your work, that's up to you in the end."

Isolde Callaway "The colony is full of resources the SRC will return once they thin the threat is gone. The SRC worships money, there is too much here to leave behind. One an inoculation is found the place will be rebuilt, every terraformed planet has its issues and dangers. The spore is just the most dangerous thing we have found so far." Isolde shrugged "But, you take life for money so I doubt you have ever called anywhere but a battlefield home."

Daniel "Danny" Colchester "Well," Danny said moving past them, "we won't get nothin' done just sittin' 'round here, that bein' findin' a safe place to lay our heads an' your supplies to find a cure." He held out a hand to Isolde, "I may not be the smartest pig in the pen, an' if'n I'm right that's your job, but from here it seems you is the best chance we got." An encouraging smile broke out on Danny's face as his eyes held a genuine hope. If the SRC knew they had a cure, it could mean another added fee on being a settler, and as Isolde said, they only cared about money. Maybe they could all make it out of this in one piece. "What d'ya say?"

Isolde Callaway Isolde took Danny's and 'well suppose you gents are right what's the point in sorrow it changes nothing...." She said mostly to herself as she pulled herself to her feet. Isolde had to tell herself it would be a new start it was the only way she could handle the loss of the old lab.

Daniel "Danny" Colchester"A way to look at is I 'spose." Danny helped Isolde up and tried to give her a comforting smile. "On the upside, I still got the vittles I grabbed before the lab went. So food will be fine for the next few days. In that time, I guess we best get properly situated n' all." Danny scratched his cheek, not knowing really what to do next. "So... where're we headin'?"

Alan Wagner Alan glared at the man and narrowed his eyes. "If the SRC had a cure, so many of us wouldn't be dead, and I wouldn't be carrying all these guns." He coughed in annoyance and rose to his own feet slinging his Vector over his shoulder. "So if you're saying we have supplies then we'll need shelter. Somewhere to keep these infected away from us." He offered his forearm as a map of the city rose up into sight.

Isolde Callaway "I may have been here for years but all I knew was my lab and the sampling grounds in the forest here, so you boys can figure that business out." She said offhandedly as she pulled out a length off rope and a hook from her pack and began to twirl it, releasing it to have it sink int the mushroom ca overhead. "But, I am getting away from biting levels." She added as she began to climb.

Alan Wagner Alan watched as she climbed up the massive mushroom stalk. He had to admit she was spry for a lab rat. He waited til she got to the top and lifted his right arm to the cap and tapped a button, there was a small flash and a whirring sound as a grappling cable launched up into the canopy. The small motor whined as it pulled him to the top and he hunkered down next to her. "I suppose in the morning we can head out. I'm relatively new to the planet myself, but I have schematics, I can get us into the city relatively safely I think."

Isolde Callaway "If you don't want to die I suggest you use the sublevel schematics and go through the under-city maintenance shafts. You will need a mask against the spores but its the best path." She told him plainly as she cued up the data band on her left forearm. she used two fingers to highlight and zoom in on na area. "Due north and south there is an access hatch but I don't know what shape it will be in, I have not used that in a long time."

Alan Wagner He strokes his trimmed beard and thinks about what she just said. "Well my helmet scrubs the atmosphere before I breathe it, It's you two I'm more worried about. Do you have a mask you could use?" He looks over to her wondering if the plan was still viable. "As for the state of the panel, we'll only know once we get there to check it out. There's no way that I know of to check them from here, let's just hope the first one we look into is useable." He sighed and leaned back onto the cap stretching out for a bit.
