Okies cool cool, I think half a gallon is the absolute minimum space they need. But I preffer to give animals more than thier minimum needs.

People tend to not treat fish well emo

why do they need to hide? the one is totally less than 1/2 gallon but she seems to be happy if she gets fed n' fresh water every once in a while

the male has a tunnel going up for air bubbles... he did have a purple thing but he never went by it to hide in

Although pet shops tell you to abuse fish, just like they do by keeping thiers in small plain containers. Fish still have behaviours and bettas have quite intricate behaviours.

hmm, its hard to tell if they are happy. But in a regular good size tank, if they are happy they will swim around and interact (normally boss around) other fish.

In the natural they live in streams and ponds with leafy cover. Ours back home when resting always rest in the thick of the plants.

I have a feeling I will be buying your fish a tank...I really dont think I could live with seeing them in conditions not suitable to what they really need. sweatdrop

I would be like putting taff in a kennel and never letting her out.

Surviving isnt nessecerily hapiness. Betas are notoriously hardy.

and them be live-forever fishies
-cats drink the water
-cats puke into the water
-fed whenever we remember (usually twice a day)
-filter cleaned only when clogged to the pint of being a different color
-tank cleaned twice a year, sometimes only once
-the oldest is about 12, the other three about two years younger
-said oldest is a carnival goldfish (carnival fish are notorious for dying quickly)
-other three are ones that escaped being dissected and thrown out to starve
-people at pet shops can't believe that they're alive and well
