Fun fact, Ami actually had no clue how to play chess. She'd just watched the movie and read the books so many times that she knew how to win.

By the time Ami made it to the vials, she was just too tired. She knew the right vial was the black one, but honestly? She was curious. In the books, Harry and Voldemort never tried anything except the correct bottle.
So she picked up the purple one and downed it.
Only to explode and die the end.
