pulling his hand away, he let out a shaky gasp. "w-what....." he paused, having to wet his lips. "why is this happening.....?" he murmured, holding the hand that had been covering his eyes like it were a delicate flower. "please.... t-tell me...." he murmured, feeling the hot wet tears start to fall as he kept his gaze on Nikolai's now hazel eyes.

His aging face now seen, Nikolai caught his breath and looked away. "When you died in your past life," he whispered in a labored voice. "I gave up on life... And that's how... I became a Sin...." He winced as the last letter of his brand began disappearing while the acidic burn on his arm spread. "I gave up... on love..." He smiled past the pain and fatigue. "And then... you came back.... and I had a reason to live again." For proof, Nikolai pulled back his sleeve and revealed the slowly diminishing brand through the acid burned and aged arm. "I'd imagine I don't have much time left..."

"no...." he mumbled, his tears pouring harder. "c-can't we do anything....? there has to be something!" he sniffed, trying unsuccessfully to calm down enough to think coherently.

The old man hugged Belyi, not just for comfort but also to keep him from seeing his nearly century old face. "It's fine, dearie." he barely whispered with his sad smile still on his face.
"Of all the ways to die-"
His grip on Belyi weakened. His brand had completely vanished and was fully eaten away by the acid burn on his arm. His body, aged too much more than it should have, began to turn to dust, which by then had rolled off his diminishing legs.
"-I'm just glad that I-"
He hesitated, his body worsening by the second. His old eyes looked to the sky for a second and wondered if this was the last time to see the sun and the clouds. He looked to the back of Belyi's head and smiled softly.
"-that I got to die happy."
It was almost like a final gift that he got to finish his sentence. As soon as he was done he closed his eyes and accepted his fate. His body got weaker and weaker with each millisecond until finally his limp body fell against Belyi. As soon as his fragile body collapsed it exploded into dust with only the Sin's suit to remember him by.

te moment Nikolai was gone, Belyi fell to his knees and began to sob loudly. Slowly reaching out, he carefully picked up the tie from his suit and held it tightly in that hand as his sobbing grew worse. Now what? He didn't want to go back there.... To Nikolai's house.... Not without him.... But.... Where else could he go? He really didn't even know where he was.....

off in the shadows, Cybil gave a small sigh as she watched the scene unfold. her eyes turning slightly purple, she gave a smirk and pulled out her crystal ball. "where do you think you're going, sloth?" she murmured, pulling the sin into the ball with little issue.

Sloth cringed as he expected to be directed to straight to Hell, awaiting a new body. He opened his eyes and was surprised to find himself in an orb. He looked down on himself and saw that he was nothing but a contained purple fog! It made him wonder if this was how genies felt. But that was fine, he felt delighted to not be stuck in Hell waiting for a body he'd absolutely hate. But... where was he?

Cybil gave a small sigh as she held her crystal tightly, watching the weeping angel carefully, frowning to herself as she spotted two unwelcome faces. "so it's begun already..." she whispered, watching as the unwanted duo walked up to Belyi.

Sloth stopped thinking to himself as he heard someone mutter something and looked up. Oh, it was that girl that visited Chaos nearly everytime Nikolai did. And what did she say? What began? He looked around and noticed the boy that caused all this. Oh, him? Crap, maybe he really was in Hell.

the prophetess gave a grunt of annoyance as she watched the angel getting beaten by the two others. "mm..... will he do it...?" she wondered to herself, gasping as she saw the boy fall to the ground, one of the two pinning him down, a loud scream escaping Belyi.

Sloth watched the fight go one-sided. He knew he wasn't part of Nikolai anymore, but he could practically feel the Russian tense up and will himself to fight. Ugh, don't tell him some part of him grew attached to Nikolai. Don't get him wrong, he liked the guy, he was entertaining, and he liked the body and twist on his views, but he didn't want to be thinking like him all the time. Like now. What would Nikolai do? He'd go berserk and fight the two, as for him, he preferred to sleep and let it all work out.
"Don't you plan to do something other than watch, dearie?" he finally spoke.

"i think he's finally started to remember who he was." she hummed, watching the angel finally start to fight back. "too bad it took Niki's death to make him remember..." she drawled, glancing down to the crystal with shimmering eyes.
