Opening locks? Canon crouch walked closer to the box and poked experimentally at one them. Nothing happened, but the Professor had said they'd need to use a number.

The Skark thought for a bit, then fiddled with one of the locks. It turned out to be harder than she'd reckoned, for after a few minutes and a few combination tries, the lock was still stubbornly closed.

If at first you don't succeed...

Canon frowned at the lock, and reconsidered how to get it open. Maybe she should try tracing a number on it, instead? The Professor had mentioned something about that. As she fiddled with it again, she began humming a tune, melody and harmony through her breathing holes.

This time, as her finger traced the number 4, on the lock, it popped open! Canon sat back with a satisfied smile, and looked to see how the other students were faring.

A few of her peers (?) had begun to file in. Having been resting her eyes under the sky with her head Or at least, some folks that looked about her age. The tatzel rose back up to her feet when she saw a ghoul that could have been dragon kin. However, in her time at Amity, she'd learned that immediately questioning ones critter kind wasn't all that polite. Pulling her lips back together before she could ask, something on the floor caught her eye. It was a boil she didn't recognize either. A boil with a sort of flame to his eyes.

Sure are 'lot'a new faces 'round 'ere. Name's Levi! Ya'll just git 'ere? Careful with these sorta fellars. Levi gestured with a nod towards the were-hyena, ears flickering down and eyes squeezing into a squint, one had fanning over her mouth to speak discretely to her peers. Sometimes they ain't ta'be trusted. While her intent was good, the ghoul hadn't considered she too fell for the possible rues if this was a foe.

Or was she there to perhaps be sure that he wasn't an invader?... Yes. That was it. Totally.

Ears propped back up in attention when she noticed Jack. The feline boil she'd met on Conquest Isle would receive a salute and grin. Aye, Jack! Fancy seein' yew 'ere.
A fare ghoul with a pale color to her ears was near as well, though the tatzel would immediately recognize that she wasn't some sort of tatzelwurm herself. Her tails; there was more than one of them. Maybe she was related to the blue-tailed boil she'd met during prom?

Another ghoul circled the box, eyeing it for any clues on it's contents. That seemed smarter than just waiting around, really. It would be the small red boil that would finally provoke some answers from the questionable figure. He was indeed a professor and they were to try and open some locks? Seemed easy enough.

Shouldn't be too much'a problem, eh? One ghoul was already at work. Yes, the smart ghoul who'd been looking over the box. She reminded her of Shun for some reason she could not put a claw to. With a tweeting tune, one lock came undone. Whoa! There's one down. Way ta'go, ghoulie! Kekeke~ Thems some fiiine finger workin's.

A brief but solid pat to the skark's back would be followed by Levi sitting directly opposite her in front of the box. Lemme see 'ere...

It was a weird looking lock. Not really anything she could say she'd seen around on any doors or chests before. Now what in tha'confangled- It's just a lock, just a lock...

Hunching over to try and get a better view at the inner workings of this tiny doohickey, Levi began prodding it with her claws. At first, the tatzelwurm ghoul thought something had broken inside it with all the clanking and turning about she was trying to make the mechanism open; however, it opened. A clink of some tiny latch or gear moving prompted the release of the lock, Levi noting the number 15 being revealed.

...Yea. Thar we'go. No problem. That was exactly what she'd meant to do all along, of course.

Arachne eyed the other students, more curious than anything. She wasn't sure she recognised any of them from before she had gone away, but she gave the ghoul who had introduced herself a little smile, and offered her own name;
'I'm Arachne.' she said, finding a space to crouch down and have a go at one of the locks, picking one with a little dial. Unfortunately after twisting it round a few times first in one direction and then counter-clockwise, all she was doing was making a little clicking noise.

'Hmm, doesn't seem to be working.'

Well, she would give it one more go, and then let someone else have a try. Maybe she was spinning the dial too fast? She twisted it slower this time, listening the noise it made as she did so, and eventually it gave a satisfying 'clunk' noise.
She squinted at the tiny numbers, seeing it had stopped at
19

'There.' she said, feeling slightly pleased with herself, and got up to give someone else the room to work on another lock.

Seeing how badly his last arrow-following adventure had gone, it was strange to see West willingly embarking on another. He poked at each sign he passed with a booted toe, debating whether or not to dig them all up, but in the end he left them for some other excitement-starved sap to follow. When he finally happened upon the clearing, he stopped at its edge and folded his arms. At least it didn't look like anyone was farming for weaponization candidates around here.

For all that he usually kept to himself, the demon was surprised to find that he was acquainted with at least half of the creatures here already. If nothing else, that meant it would be easier to determine which might be hunters in disguise, right?

He knew the tatzel quite well... of course, and he'd seen that Lord of the Cats around at least once, as well as that weird little imp. He'd met Tomoko too, though they hadn't spoken since right after that. He nodded at anyone who might have looked at him, hell, he even nodded at the ones he'd never seen before. It was only after he had cast his usual narrow-eyed glare at everyone present, including their instructor, that he stepped closer to the box and crouched in the grass next to Levi.

"What's goin' on here?" He'd attended some rather strange classes at this school, but he couldn't recall ever having done anything as useless as opening a box.

He had received his little satalite again! Smiling down to the little Kitsune, he gave her a sweet look before rolling his sleeves up, deciding that it was his turn at this.

Jack had tried to hold himself off for a few moments before attempting the locks, giving each and every remaining lock a few look overs before humming and hawing lightly, ears lightly flicking, and charms clinking from the movements. They seemed . . . pretty simple for locks - nothing he hadn't seen before. Not that he was willing to admit that it was not his first attempt finding a way through locks. Some things were best to be considered a secret of the trade.

Hearing another soul come in while they worked on the box, he didn't even look up to know it was the avarice demon. Some people just had a certain swagger.

"We've been requested to find our way through these locks, even if they seem a little. . . mediocre in difficulty." He offered up to West, awarded with a small -click- of the lock, the number 20 showing in his palm from his attempts. "Come to join us?" He asked, finally looking up, amusement on his face.

Numbers and locks. That.... sounded pretty straight forward to her, she felt. They all responded to a number, then? Tomoko, like her fellow students, crouched down and began to press at the locks, tracing a kanji '10' over one of them (as Kanji was easier for her to write).

Her ears perked up when the lock clicked open.

Well, he sort of bit off more than he could chew with that statement, didn't he?

Frowning at the remaining locks that daunted the students on the box, he kind of tilted his head this way and that lightly, tail flicking behind him as he scratched his chin, eyebrows furrowed. Sometimes even the best lock-smith got stuck on a lock right?

It just wasn't his day.

Yeah.

Huffing, TG waited as other people tried, not really wanting to put in any actual work, but when things seemed to be going too slow, he started to nudge and shove his way over. "Alright. Alright. Let me show you all how it's done."

Moving over, he tugged and yanked at the remaining locks before grabbing his tail and licking the tip. Then, very slowly, he started to wiggle the end of his tail into a lock and working it this way and that until one lock clicked. "HAH! That's what you call skill." He said to everyone with a wide, toothy grin, standing proud beside

Feeling lucky and even closer to finding out what could be his, TG moved to another lock and wiggled in his tail before pressing a large ear against the box and slowly working it again. All those times trying to break into his fathers' safes were going to pay off.

Instead of actually opening the lock, he instead felt something pinch the en of his tail. He tried to turn his tail again, but it didn't budge. Looking at it, he grabbed the end of his tail that wasn't in the lock and started to tug.

"Uh......" His tail was stuck.

Serafina was a bit late, but that wasn't bad, right?

Still, she wasn't expecting what she saw when she skidded into the classroom. Lockpicking? Easy! For a moment, she moved to concentrate her energy into channeling her FEAR... before realizing that wasn't quite what he meant. There were no holes to stick her fingers in, anyway. It looked like simple ... code deciphering. She wasn't certain she was particularly good at that, but it was certainly worth an attempt, she supposed.

She moved over to the boxes, narrowing her eyes and concentrating on the boxes. Alright. She could get these things open, no problem. Right.

And so, she went to work. Or tried to, at least.

Canon stared wide-eyed at Levi for a few moments after she'd struck her on the back, wondering if the ghoul wanted to spar. However, instead of commencing a fight, Levi turned her attention to the locks. Perhaps... she wasn't sparring because they were in class? That made sense to the Skark, so she turned her attention to the progress the rest of the class was making. One boil in particular had caught his tail in the lock, so Canon skittered over to see if she could help him.

She seized the lock, and began fiddling with the mechanisms. It popped open when, revealing the number 9, and freed the boil's tail.

"There!" Canon exclaimed.

He watched as the ghoul just put her hands all over his tail (at least in his mind) and freed him. Both grateful and seeing an opportunity, he held the tip of his tail and made his already large eyes big. "Thank you."

He then held his tail. "Oww. I think my tail is broken. Can you look at it for me?"
