Jace smirked at his former little grass friend, his eyes widening for a moment at the new Bayleef's voice. <>

Rory was oblivious to what was going on at the side of the bed with the two pokemon; his entire attention was focused on Tambrey He pulled back finally and met her eyes, giving her a small smile.

<> Treestar seemed to consider this information to be the most remarkable he'd heard yet; he was seldom every taller than anyone as a Chikorita, but now, as a Bayleef, here he was, taller than the Charmeleon he called a friend, and thought of as somewhat like a 'big brother'. But now... He was taller...
<> He breathed; this was a huge change to get used to.

Tambrey smiled back, the same smile, as the their eyes met again.
She felt the urge to say something, but wasn't sure what; she did seem very happy though... After a moment, somewhat lamely (and in quite an understatement), she heard herself utter; "That was good."
She might have followed it up with something more awkward, like 'let's do that more often', except that her embarrassment at the lame response caused her to look down and slightly away, still smiling... Which led her to catch sight of Treestar.
"... Well that's a surprise."

Jace snickered at his friend's response and looked up the few inches at him; that was going to take some getting used to. <> He clapped Treestar on the back of his new, longer neck, <>

A small hint of pick made its way across Rory's cheeks as he barely caught what she had said and fought the urge to rub at the back of his neck; he wanted to respond but had no idea what to say that wouldn't make the moment awkward for either of them. When she glanced away, he looked over and spotted the pair of pokemon, noting the difference in the grass type.

"...wow."

".... So. Uh. I vote we do that more often if only out of scientific curiosity!" Tambrey, still rather taken aback by things, found herself joking, before leaning over, almost without thinking, toward Rory a little more, sitting and looking from Treestar to him.

Still, that was rather special and she felt her cheeks wet before she realised her eyes had been.
Treestar had evolved right as they'd kissed; so much felt, somehow, even more validated by such a clear happening. The kiss had happened and they were at this point... As dreamlike as some of her thoughts had decided to become, Treestar's evolution served her as a form of 'grounding' proof.
She wiped her face again, quickly, not entirely wanting her response, as happy as it's meaning, to be glimpsed for too long.

Treestar grinned as Jace spoke, and then straightened up, proudly, as he realised the two humans were looking at him. He was very happy.

At her small attempt at a joke, Rory chuckled, his arm going around her as she leaned towards him. "Only scientific curiosity?" he asked teasingly, though his nerves were still on edge.

The tear tracks on her cheeks didn't help much but he noticed her ease with him and her hand come up to try to wipe the tears away. With a sigh, he tentatively leaned in to kiss her forehead.

"Looks like both of our boys have grown up."

"Well. Maybe a little more than that." Tambrey grinned as she replied, and settled back into a bright smile as Rory wiped her tears away.
She, reflexively, found herself reaching to cling to him for a moment, as he came down to kiss her forehead.
"Not just them." She found herself quietly commenting, as she reflected, again, over all their time in Rocket, and together, leading into the current moment. They, and things, had changed quite a bit, she thought, and grown in a few ways.
She couldn't imagine being able to be so... honest and easy in comfort with Rory, even just a few months before, no matter how long her interest had been present and growing.
It felt like everything had been necessary to even get close to such a point.

Roy gave her a small half-smile and fought the nervous urge to scratch the back of his neck. There was no need to be nervous around her, not even with the new development. It was new and different but in a way it had been a long time coming. He sighed contentedly as she clung to him.

"Right, not just them," he agreed softly; they had come a long way since the first time they met in the infirmary. Who would have thought something like this would have ever came out of the dazed meeting?

But that was how things went, wasn't it?
