[PRP] Its a Shiny! Catch It!

"Well if there's more than one way, why bother going after a ball? I can just do what I did to Sera's Zubat." And besides, who knew where Luke and Sera were at this point. They could be on the other end of town.

The Eevee stood there, looking at the humans with a bored expression, ears flattened to the sides. Well whatever.

Repede then woofed to get their attention as the Eevee jumped down from the garbage can and started walking away.

ray blinked, looking surprised "Ah well, I was thinking its the easiest way, since you said you're not good at it, but if you don't want a ball, then you're going to have to find a different way to convince the Eevee to stay with you." She gestured toward it. "however you would like."

At Repede's alert, Yuri looked to see the Pokemon walking away. Well then. Resting his sword on his shoulder, the man stepped forward to give this a go.

"Hey!" he called after the mudcaked Eevee. The Pokemon pausing to turn and look back at him.

With a jerk of his arm, Yuri tossed the scabbard of his sword to the side, and held the blade out in front of him. This is how Yuri Lowell did things after all.

"C'mon!" he challenged the creature.

The Eevee just stared at the man for several moments. Was this guy serious? ... Apparently he was. The little Pokemon growled, hiked its tail up in the air in a rude gesture and then bounded off. Leaving Yuri to stand there and blink. "... H-hey! ... the hell." And Yuri took off running after him. He had something to prove here after all.

"Haa haa! Oh man he's a spunky one!" Ray chuckled "You'll want that."
she strepped forward as Yuri took off cupping her hands over her mouth
"YURI USE REPEDE!"

Repede was already running after Yuri when Ray shouted after him. The two in hot pursuit of the Eevee, who glanced back with a glare as he realized he was being followed.

The Growlithe ran ahead of his partner down an alleyway, the dog Pokemon opening his mouth to fire a Flame Burst at the retreating grungvee. Seeing it coming, the Eevee leaped clear, only narrowly avoiding it. It then bounced across a row of trash cans, and onto a closed dumpster.

This giving a chance for Yuri and Repede to catch up. "Not bad," Yuri said before he then jumped with agility onto a crate and then ontop of the dumpster as well.

"Vee!" the Pokemon barked, leaping past Yuri only to face Repede. Who shot several more Flame Bursts at the other Pokemon. The Eevee nimbly dodging each one before taking off down the narrow alley once more. However, it came skidding to a stop when it reached a dead end with a high wall. Its ears flattening back.

"All right half pint, how about just calling it quits?" Yuri said as he and Repede came up from behind the Pokemon. The Eevee narrowing his eyes and huffing defiantly before charging at Yuri with teeth bared.

"Whoa!" the man shouted in surprise, reflexively swinging his sword at his attacker, though using the blunt edge. The Eevee jumped, timing it so that its little paws caused it to leap off the sword like a springboard.

"Agh!" The Eevee then jumping off of Yuri's head. Then up onto a stack of crates. The Pokemon didn't stop there though, making a long jump to a second story window, but only barely making it as it grabbed the edge with its claws, dangling for a moment before pulling itself up. Yuri and Repede just watched in amazement as the little fox then jumped to the top of the wall. The Eevee sticking its tongue out at them before jumping down the other side and out of sight.

"... Yeah, maybe a Pokeball would be better."

Repede groaned and sat.

Ray had been walking behind them, grinning when she glanced around to see ho Eevee in sight "See what I mean? they're so not pets."

She wade a gesture "Come on, lets go find a pokeball, and then we can go find that Eevee again."

"Yeah, I totally underestimated the little guy," Yuri said, still unbelieving that he'd just been beat by a Pokemon that was only a foot tall.

Repede just huffed, getting to his paws and following as Yuri and Ray started to walk off in search of said ball.

Ray's grin grew wide with a chuckle. "Those kind of pokemon are theee best." She confirmed, chuckling and patting Yuri's shoulder. "Its okay, it happens to the best of us."

It wasn't hard to find the kids, Luke and Sera were hanging out, like she had suspected. Also like she suspected, he had unused pokeballs! and was a good enough child to give one of them to Yuri.

"Okay, once chance." Ray said, holding the ball up and handing it out to Yuri. "Now, lets go find that little brat."

Pokeball get.

Yuri turned the little orb around in his hand a few times, as if unsure what to do with it. Sure he'd seen other people use them before, and knew the basic gist of it, but he hadn't actually used one himself. It was still kinda weird to him.

"That thing could be long gone by now," he noted. He had figured that was probably the last he'd see of that particular Eevee.

"Hmm, yeah it could but I think we can assume that by the dusty state of its coat that its probably been sticking around the town for some time, and probably will continue to do so. Either way, its a good place to start, places with lots of scraps and dust."
She put her hands on her slim hips looking thoughtful for a moment before nodding and heading back off in that direction.
"Maybe if we see Impact flying around he can help us, or is Breezychu is around, he tends to keep tabs on the happenings around the town."

"Yeah? Well then maybe it's worth a look."

While Yuri seemed pretty indifferent, he was actually interested in that little dust ball. It had an attitude, and he liked that. The Eevee had surprised him by being different from the stereotype of the species that he had come to know.

Thus the man walked with Ray. She seemed to know what she was doing and k we the area well, thus he figured if anyone could find the Eevee again, she could.

And eventually they would spot it a little further out of town, drinking from a retention pond.

"Could, be, something that spunky, tends to not just run off."
She grinned.

Eventually they did find it, Ray crouched down next to Repede as she drew the group to a stop.
"Well, lookit here."
She paused though looking up at Yuri. "So Yuri, when you catch this thing... you know I'm going to insist that you train it." she told him. "I know you're not all that interested in pokemon all that much, but this ones ganna be a handful, and if you can't handle it like a trainer, then its going to chew you up and spit you out." she grinned at that. "What do ya say?"

As Ray spoke, Yuri put a hand on his hip and smirked.

"Yeah? Sounds like a challenge. I suppose I could give it a go. I'm pretty good at chewing and spitting too."

So in other words that was a yes. Why not. He could give this training thing a try. And really he wasn't about to be bested by a little hairball a second time.

Ray smirked back. "Just what I wanted to hear."
Stepping forward next to yuri she turned her attention to the Eevee. "Alright, so. try again. this time, try and wear it down, and before it passes out. if you can get it that far. throw the ball at it."
She glanced over to the long haired man and Repede "This time, try and only use Repede"

Yuri blew out a sigh at the idea of only using Repede. "All right." He clearly didn't like the idea much. The two of them worked better fighting as a team, but well... he did just say he'd give this a go.

"Okay Repede, go get him," Yuri said while motioning his hand towards the dirt covered Eevee.

Repede woofed and then charged at the little fluffball, who lifted his head as he noticed. Sparks flying from the Growlithe's fur as he did a Wild Charge at the other Pokemon.
