Though it probably hadn't seemed possible before, Henrietta looked even happier and more enthusiastic as, after watching Bro' float out, it seemed that Jerome agreed. "Awesome! And that's a cool name!" She nodded, scrambling out of the car and then reached back in, across the seats, to carefully lift Gummy out. "Aw, you're all wet! Come on, we're gonna win a battle!" She told the Totodile as she turned and placed him on the ground.
"Well me and Gummy have been a team for months! We even went to competition in Kanto so we could totally beat you!" The purple-haired trainer 'boasted', taking what she thought was a 'challenge' kind of stance, and wearing a determined grin.

"Wow!" Henrietta marveled at the fact that Bro' suddenly seemed to be attacking without a command given... Granted, Gummy /kind of/ did that, but it was never so... so... purposeful. Her eyes lit up with enthusiasm- she'd have to ask about it- before she called to the Totodile. "Gummy! Water Gun quick!" She knew he wasn't a pokémon that ever even seemed to want to dodge, and Water Gun was still her, and, she imagined, his, favourite attack.
The Totodile did stand his ground- it looked like he barely even knew he was in a battle. As Henrietta's voice reached him, however, his jaws opened suddenly, and a jet of water was delivered toward the approaching ghost, and whichever attack he was launching.

"WOW!" Henrietta let out, again, as the ghost seemed happy to take Gummy's attack square in the face. "C'mon Gummy, we can still win this! Y' got him right in the face there!" She called encouragement to her pokémon despite being impressed with the Gengar. Of course, Gummy didn't seem worried, and certainly didn't seem to have the inclination to dodge as Bro' delivered the Brick Break attack. It was the first time Henrietta had actually even seen the attack. "Oh man..." She watched as Gummy stood still, for just a moment, after being hit, then decided to fall sideways, to the left, unable to battle. "Wow... Uh! You did awesome Gummy! We'll totally win it next time! You rest a while!" The young trainer praised and encouraged, even as she withdrew the Totodile to his ball.
"Man, you're strong!" Though she'd just lost, and rather spectacularly, Henrietta didn't seem despondent, though a little concerned that Gummy was back in his ball; instead she seemed mostly slightly in awe of Bro'- and, she assumed, how Jerome had trained him. "That was amazing! How'd ya get him to know what to do like that? Were you signalling him somehow? Did you memorize a routine? Oh man, you said you weren't even a trainer! C'mon, now, that was a total lie right? You two are awesome!" She chattered away, incredibly interested in the pair, even more, now, very impressed, but also determined. "I've still got Winglet! I totally bet Winglet could beat you!" She told the Gengar, with bravado that was probably very misplaced after what had just happened.

"Wow..." Henrietta breathed for a moment. The 'hood' was something that seemed to get thrown around in the city sometimes- back home, in Goldenrod- but she'd never really gotten any idea of what it was about. Her life had been cozy, and somewhat boring, as far as she was concerned, until she was finally able to go out and see the world with Gummy.
"So you and Bro' grew up together? In the, uh, hood?! Man, you two are so cool! Do you think attacking like that is something I could teach Gummy? Or Winglet? Oh!" She grinned, plucking the Quick ball from her belt, at Bro's expression; she had no reservations about battling again; the Gengar was amazing to her, but despite the easy win he'd had, it didn't seem like her confidence was too shaken. An instant later, the Zubat fluttered in the air, just ahead of her. "C'mon Winglet! Gummy weakened him for you; that ghost's real tough but I know you can take totally take him!"

If she'd caught what Jerome had muttered, she'd almost certainly have objected to it. Perhaps she'd even have been offended. In her mind, Winglet and herself were every bit as tough as Jerome and Bro'; they totally still had a shot at winning! The fact that Bro' was so tough just added appeal to battling him.
"Get him with a Supersonic first!" The trainer called, gleefully, to the little bat, still apparently totally enjoying herself. She even let out a laugh at the ghost's antics, as he stopped short of attacking. "Hey, c'mon you, that's not an attack!" Unless it was an extremely weak version of 'Astonish', was a thought, locked to her, somewhere in her brain.
Ghost types. Uh. They were so hard to 'see'. Winglet had plenty of reservations about being sent out against a strong Gengar; number one being that her echoes found him as a kind of 'thick sludge' of air. Oh, she could /tell/ he was there, but ghosts were always so 'gloopy' and fuzzy-looking in her sound waves; they creeped her out a little. She let out a small squeak of alarm as the... thing.. moved between waves and was suddenly a big soupy fog in front of her. Well! At.. At least that made the terrifying creature easier to aim her attack at, she supposed.

Well... That both had, and hadn't, had quite the effect that Winglet had wanted at all. The ghost had been sent off away, but he didn't look very confused- could ghosts even be confused? She wondered what her trainer was up to... She must have gotten them into another ridiculously one-sided fight...
Winglet squeaked in alarm, again, as suddenly she was buffeted by something cold and foggy- the 'fuzzy-sludge-air' of ghost zipping right back to her and slapping her out of the air! With the suddenly 'solid' arm... Ghosts were so bewildering and this one wasn't fighting like a trainer pokémon at all! In face... This was /almost/ like a wild pokémon, just more... More refined maybe? She wasn't sure. The bat listened, and tried to carry out her next attack, anyway as Henrietta called out to her.
"Wow! This guy's really smart! You can /still/ take him though, Winglet! C'mon! Try Astonish!"
Astonish?! Right. Fine. The bat heaved a squeaking-sigh, and launched herself toward the ghost, trying to impress it? Scare it? Whatever astonish could possibly do here, she wasn't sure, but that's what Hen' had asked for...

At least the pair could get some rest in their pokéballs, and, really, she didn't think they were too far from the city. She could find a pokécenter to have them checked over before she got into too much trouble, maybe.
She was really taken, though, for now, with how Jerome, or perhaps, rather, Bro', had just battled and won against both of her pokémon. "Bro' /really/ knows how to battle though! Ya've gotta've trained him a bit, right?! D'you think I should let Gummy or Winglet pick their own moves sometimes? Cuz that's totally what it seemed like Bro' was doing! It was awesome! I bet if I could get Gummy to do that, we could totally take you on again and win next time!" Henrietta grinned, defaulting to her standard, somewhat hyper, attitude now that the battle was done, and already thinking about a rematch, by the sound of it.
