[FIN] Behind Glass Doors

Yuri waited watched Kazuki for a moment before looking up as the nurse came and spoke. He was fully prepared to let her brother go first, but blinked in mild surprise when he insisted that Yuri go first instead.

"Okay," he said, and moved to do just that, but then paused. "Oh and thanks, for getting me back here I mean."

And with that he walked into the small room.

"Hey," he greeted softly. For it sure could be said that Dove had seen better days.

Kazuki only nodded his response, and watched as the younger man disappeared into his sister's room.

When Yuri entered the room, he would find the room silent, only the beep of the numbers of machines surrounding her at work making sound. Her eyes stayed closed, her body bruised, limp, and adorned in a simple cotton hospital gown,, needles of the IVs tucked into her skin. Her breaths came long and shallow as the medication begun to take control and se fought to stay awake. Her hair was tied in a ponytail that laid across the pillow, the ends frayed and burned.

His simple word earned a small weak smile, his voice familiar and, to the girl, like a cool glass of very much needed water. Her voice was weak, but she refused not to try. "You're okay..."

This earned her a short laugh, as Yuri stepped closer and plunked himself down on the only chair in the entire room.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Which is more than can be said for you. How're you feeling?"

He ignored the machines and other things that made this place so sterile and bleak, and just focused on her instead. She looked terrible, but she was alive and so he felt she would be all right.

The laugh made her smile widen, and she forced her eyes open to look at him. Good... He looke like he always did...

His question made the smile fade completely. "I..." A pause. "This is almost hell..." she whispered, her voice rtight.

Dove's admission was a little disheartening but Yuri didn't miss a beat as he continued.

"Yeah I don't doubt that. But hey, you'll get through this."

She nodded a little against the pillow, so much as her neck would allow, then closed her eyes again, drawing a deeper breath, her expression turning into a soft, but drugged, grimace for just a moment. "I'll live...It just...hurts..."

After a few minutes, she forced her eyes open again and looked to him, her fingers again clenching the sheets weakly. "What happened...?" she asked, still unsure of why she was even there in the first place, as the doctors had been rather vague about the entire affair thus far, aside from the mention of an explosion that she had apparently been caught in. The list of numerable surgeries was fresh, if muddled, but all she could remember from before were Rockets, and the desert, and Aurora grabbing her, and then--

Her heart monitor skipped a beat, then jumped into a slightly faster pace. "What about...the others? ...A-And my team...?" she asked in a voice barely audible. Her first instinct had been to ask about him, and he seemed fit as ever, but if she had been caught in such a blast, surely the others...

Yuri's eyes softened and he leaned forward a little with a soft sigh. "The bastards blew up their cars. You were the closest to them. A lot of people and Pokemon were hurt."

"Some of your Pokemon were hurt too but they'll okay, and they're being taken care of.."

This said with a smile as he pulled out and held up a strap holding the pokeballs a of her team.

An immediate and pained look of regret crossed her face. The cars had exploded...After she had taken measures, along with the others, to ensure that Rocket wouldn't be able to use then to make their escape... They had used them as bombs. She had wasted her energy on it and gotten nearly killed in the process. Closing her eyes, she stayed silent a few minutes, thing through her hazy list of others. "W-Will everyone be okay, though...?" she asked, terrified that he might answer with notice of a death. Did we...at least catch a few...?"

Mention of her team getting hurt only made it all worse, but she opened her eyes again, this time with a look of relief as Yuri showed her team was in his possession. They would be okay...

"Lovey and Diana... They're..." At home. Alone. Probably worried sick, or at least, the elder would be.

"Everyone will be fine and everything is taken care of so stop worrying and just focus on getting better," Yuri assured her and put the pokeball a back into his pocket.

"Yeah, we got some." Not as many as he would have like but not all of them had gotten away.

At his words she fell silent, willing to comply, though thoughts of the others, her Pokemon, and the all around not knowing would plague her the next few days were she given time to spare. However, she trusted Yuri. She would do her best to do as he said.

A small nod at his admission. A few... It was disappointing, but better than none...

That taken care of, she let out another shaky breath, then tried for a smile. "You... Brought me flowers."

She wasn't satisfied with that, he could tell. But what else could he say? She was just determined to worry whether there was something to worry about or not.

Her statement then drew a blink and he turned his gaze to the vase if black lilies for a moment.

"Uh... Yeah. I hope you like them." His voice just a tad on the sheepish side.

The sheepishness in his voice made her smile again, and her gaze fell soft as she too looked at the vase in the window. "They're perfect... It was nice to have something....not terrifying to wake up to... you know? They're so...you."

In fact, they had been the only thing in the room that hadn't been terrifying at the time she had first woken up after the incident.

Her fingers clenched on the sheets again.

Yuri smiled a little at that. Then leaning back in the chair again he glanced toward the door.

"There's someone else here to see you too."  

[Tori Honoo]

His smile strengthened hers, and the mention of another visitor made her curious. "Oh...?" She was so tired, but to see the others was enough to keep her fighting to stay awake.

As if right on cue, Kazuki stepped into the room, his hands tucked down in his pockets and his head dipped lower than usual.

The appearance of her brother standing before her, in the midst of horrible circumstance, had her staring, her heart rate slowly rising as panic and shame blossomed in her chest.

With Kazuki now entering the room, Yuri rose from the chair and moved towards the door.

The two of them probably had some catching up to do. Thus he opted to give them a little privacy.
