Yuri laughed, "Guess you'll just have to see for yourself, huh?" Obviously his explaining it wasn't going to work for the kid, and he would have time to observe anyway so there was no point in trying.

Jace huffed a long, dramatic sigh, then giggled clearly okay with the idea. "Okaaaayyy..." he finally gave, still grinning broadly up at the man. "So are they still your only pokemon?" he asked, his grin turning a little more proud. He had caught a ton!
As they started nearing the edge of town, Yuri shrugged. "Yeah, except for Link." And really, Link had been helping Yuri out for a while, but now he had that Pokemon in a ball thanks to the whole desert incident.

Jace continued to follow Yuri, apparently not caring where exactly he was being led. He trusted the older guy afterall, and he had his whole team with him. They'd be okay.
"What's a Link?" he asked, looking to the Pichu on his shoulder as it climbed atop his head yet again to look at the man with the same curiosity her boy held.
With Jace's question Yuri paused on the edge of a field and pulled a pink and yellow friend ball from his pocket. Triggering the release, a blast of light erupted and formed into a large Arcanine colored in dark green and grays. A pair of blue earrings on his ears and a broken chain around one leg. The large quiet dog looking down at them with keen blue eyes.

Jace's eyes widened as the pokemon appeared, his jaw dropping a bit as he looked it over. "No way, you got an Arcanine?!" He didn't step any closer, unsure about the fire type's temperament, but continued to look it over with every interest, tilting his head a bit at the chain. "What's the chain for? How'd you catch him??"
There was a distinctly untamed air about the Arcanine and yet he didn't make any aggressive moves either. He merely stood there and watched them.
"Yep, I met him months ago and he came around sometimes. But he got hurt in the desert so I had to catch him."
Yes, Yuri conveniently forgot to answer the question about the chain.

Jace's gaze stayed glued to the massive fire type. "Really? He just liked you and showed up? Did he follow you around or something?" A slight pause. "Wait, he fought in the desert too?! Cool! I bet he was awesome!"
In his excitement, the boy also conveniently did not pursue the question about the chain.
