[FIN] Hunting for Dragons

[Gwennythe]

"Um..." Henrietta seemed to be thinking very hard about the question after Jace asked it. Well, a mountain was where rock types lived, and a cave was where they lived too... Along with bat pokémon like Winglet.
"Man, maybe we'll find a -NOIVERN-! They could totally have flown here, right?" She'd become rather taken with a few of the pokémon known from Kalos. "Ooh!" Something else jogged her memory- a glimpse of snow cresting the higher regions of the mountains.
It wasn't a dragon but...
"We totally might see an Articuno if we go high enough, right?!"

Dove looked again over her shoulder, then crossed her arms over her middle, watching the two interact in front of her.

Jace laughed triumphantly. "Aw, yeah! I bet they totally could!!!!" he nearly yelled, just as excited as she seemed to be. "They could totally fly over and live here!"

The mention of the Articuno nearly had him correcting her, saying they were only found in Kanto, if ever, but Dove had a mew and Yuri had a Ho-Oh... so that was totally possible! "Dude, what if we find LEGENDARIES!!!!!!!"

Dove shook her head, stepping up a little closer. "Jace, you're going to scare all of the wild ones away with that Uproar, silly..." she reminded him, giggling a little, though it wasn't nearly as full as it normally would have been.

In the distance, something glittered up in the trees.

"That would be awesome! We totally could, too! Like, a whole bunch of them hanging out in the mountains, in a cave?! That would be so cool!" There was /something/ nagging at Henrietta as they pushed on through; she felt like she was... missing something obvious.
Gummy wasn't walking along with them, but she didn't think that was what it was.
She shook her head, trying to shake the odd feeling as they passed a tree... that seemed to be devoid of moss and wiped clean of dirt.
In fact, there was less to trip over, less 'untidiness' to the area as they pushed on... It was quite a 'clean' area of the mountain forest.

Jace laughed, more zealous than ever, and was about to give a bubbly response until his eye caught something bright glitter as it moved up in the tree leaves. "Hey, what was that?" he asked, having not really noticed how clean everything around them was, for a forest.

Though there was nothing really to trip on, the boy found himself stumbling a bit anyway as he had his gaze skyward, then tripped, with a gasp. "Whoa!" Unhurt, he righted himself, and dusted off his pants and knees with a laugh. "Woopsie!"

Something up in the trees rustled again.

"I heard something..." Henrietta mentioned, as confirmation, to Jace, believing he'd heard something too, rather than he'd seen something.
It hadn't been clear, though she thought whatever it was had come from behind them somehow rather than in front.

Just before Jace went down, she caught sight of -something- glittering for a moment, before it was forgotten as the girl rushed to help her friend up.
"Whoops! Hey! We're not lookin' for ground types!" She teased, on seeing he was okay.

The rustling was joined by another rustle, just a little further away. More than one 'something' was up in the trees.

Giggling, Jace shook his head, then stepped over to playfully shove Henrietta a little, pushing her gently with both hands as he walked forward, moving her in front of him if she would allow it. "Ha ha, very funny, Hen!"

At that moment, the rustle grew louder, before a little cloud bird appeared, fluttering down with a lovely trill as it swooped around them, the sun catching the colorful skin and causing it to glitter in the rays.

Dove paused behind the children, watching them fondly until the new pokemon appeared. "Is that...?"

Jace stopped pushing Henrietta, and leaned back, his eyes huge. "A swablu!!! That's a swablu!!!!"

Henrietta stumbled forward a little, as Jace shoved her, then straightened up and poked her tongue out at her friend, beaming.

Her tongue was still out, though the smile changed to match wide-eyed wonder, as the first Swablu fluttered down...
A moment later, with an answering song, another followed, the blueberry blue of it's little round body making it look like some kind of chubby blue grape dragging a pair of clouds around.

"There's two!" Hen's tongue vanished into her mouth properly with the exclamation...

Dove watched the two little birds in wonder, the sound they made echoing through her chest more than her head, and causing it to tighten a little. That sound... those were the higher sounds from the night when...

Jace beamed and spun a little to follow the first swablu as it flew around him again, then laughed in absolute glee as the little bird peeped up at him and went to his knees to brush off the dirt, then up to face him, giving another bright trill before it fluffed its wings on his cheeks, giving him a puffy face for a moment. "They're so pretty! And they turn into dragons later! he exclaimed, turning to the girl.

The swablu happily continued to clean the little boy up as Dove watched the two, shaking off her previous heavy heart to smile at the younger trainers. "Well hey! You should see if they'd like to come with us," she suggested.

Henrietta watched as one of the birds went to clean up Jace, blinking as the other bird decided to flutter around the group... and then perch on her head, making it look, for a moment, like the girl was wearing a wooly hat.

"Oh! Oh yeah! Jace, we found dragons!" Henrietta exclaimed, realising as he mentioned their evolution.
The Swablu on her head decided to join in; echoing Hen's tone with a happy trill.
"Oh, we gotta ask them and battle them! We gotta let them know we're awesome trainers and prove it to them!"
She got another echo from the top of her head.

Positively beside himself, the boy put his hands out, palms up, allowing the little bird to perch in his palms as he listened to the girl, laughing as it first cleaned his fingers, then landed heavily in his hold, happily accepting the snuggles he gave it.

"You guys want to battle, and maybe come with us? We'll take good care of you, promise! We're real strong, and you'll be even stronger too!"

The swablu blinked up at the boy with a bright smile, then gave a long happy note in return, flitting back up into the air as it readied itself, looking curiously to it's friend.

Nearly bouncing, Jace looked over at Chester, then paused, tugging at a ball on his belt and letting it swell in his hand before he released a pichu. Maybe they'll let us tag team battle!" he told Hen, smiling up at the flying type as Zap emerged. The pichu peeked over her shoulder, noted the boy's stance and the one the swablu had taken, then gave a happy call, ready to battle for her trainer, and to make a new friend in the process.

Dove stepped back, watching the battle contently, but checking over her shoulder just once to see if Yuri and Tymiko had settled things.

The Swablu atop Hen's head regarded it's colourful friend, then trilled in affirmation before fluttering up to join it. The bird then issue it's only sweet-sounding challenge at the two trainers, as Henrietta called Winglet from her pokéball.

"Yeah! Look! They're totally going to!" She grinned at Jace, then pointed. "C'mon Winglet, we've gotta impress new friends!"

Winglet pinged the scene, and realised she was battling -alongside- the Pichu nearby- the stance could only mean that, so the Swablus were the targets then...
She fluttered in front of Henrietta, and waited for the order.
"Start with Supersonic! The closest one!"

Jace clenched a fist, raising it up ahead of him as he called out Zap's first attack. "Alright, Zap! Let's start out with a Thunder Shock!"

The pichu called out an affirmation, then balled its shoulders, it's little cheeks lighting up with lightning as it charged itself, then released a bolt toward the colorful ball before it.  

[Gwennythe]

"No, wai-!" Hen' shielded her eyes as the Thunder Shock flashed from the Pichu, hitting the Swablu that Winglet had just managed to confuse, as well as hitting Winglet herself, as much as Zap's intended target.

Well, this wasn't going to take long at all, but the electric attack had rather hit the Zubat hard... even if not quite as hard as it had hit the Swablu...
Static crackled around the bat pokémon.
"Oh, man..." She hoped the little bat could break through the paralysis... but, with that attack, at least they were already near a win.

The Swablu that had been Supersonic'd and then Thunder Shocked looked confused, and rather smoldering... It decided to Sing, but in it's confusion, it flew up a little high without looking and bumped its head- the mild pain caused it to interrupt it's move, still confused... Had it just... hurt itself? What was going on?

Jace's smile fell as Henrietta called out, and while it appeared as though he had hit his intended target--who fluttered weakly for a few minutes, it's peck attack stilled-- it also appeared as though he had inadvertently hit Winglett as well. "Oh gosh! S-Sorry!"

Zap blinked, realized what it had done and offered a squeak of apology to the bat.

Frowning a bit in concentration and at his overzealous attack that had hurt Henrietta's pokemon, the boy looked over to his partner. "Think we should go another round, or..." he asked, his question trailing as he drew a ball from his belt.

There was a crackle of electricity, and a weak chirping sound, from the bat, who didn't seem -too- perturbed that she'd nearly been taken out by a team mate.
She just seemed to be focusing on staying in the battle, useful.

"It's okay! There's a berry or something we can give her somewhere, for sure! Let's just get these two caught!" Hen' called, watching Winglet carefully for a moment, and deciding she was 'okay', for the moment.
An empty pokéball was in her hand, too, as Jace asked.
"I think they'll let us catch them! We've totally proven ourselves already! Uh, mostly thanks to Zap..." There was a tone of smirk in her voice.
She approved of strong pokémon, even if she was a little bit concerned that the Pichu had managed to hit Winglet quite so hard.
