Dove kept her arms around Henrietta a moment, until the girl began grabbing for a pokeball. Watching as Bistra was released, she sat back on her knees, then looked over to Yuri as he stopped them, surprised at the burst of strength in his voice. Nodding quietly, though she didn't fully understand or know of Flynn's past, she turned back to Henrietta. "Are you going to be okay?" She would stay with them, per Yuri's suggestion. She only hoped Jace would trust Flynn enough to be consoled.

Lovey watched Bistra, unsure of what the swablu wanted, then settled close to Henrietta again with a soft whine. This was bad...

Outside, Dawn settled keeping her puffy wings close to her body to fight off the chill as snow dusted them, still giving little whistles and notes here and there, not yet humming. The blonde human had found them, and surely he would be able to help her boy.

Jace tensed at the touch to his shoulder, unmoving, even as he sat shivering, both from the cold and the stress of the news. A muffled voice would come in broken pieces, shakily telling Flynn to "G-Go a-away..."

With the exertion of saying that, Yuri let out a sigh, closed his eyes, and leaned back against his pillow. Damn, that took more out of him than it should have. But it seemed like they were going to let it be, for now anyway. He too hoped that Jace would listen to Flynn.

Meanwhile, outside, Flynn moved to sit down next to Jace and leaned against the wall. The man shaking his head at the boy's words.

"I know you want to be alone right now. But its times like these that you need someone the most." Though he knew he hadn't known Jace very long, so it probably wouldn't mean much coming from him.

Bistra fluttered away, following a trail not unlike Flynn had, until she was able to perch, finally, alongside Dawn.
She trilled gently, to let the other bird know of her presence, before she landed, then turned her head to watch the humans.

Henrietta nodded a little; she'd be okay but it was still upsetting. Probably the most upsetting thing she'd come into contact with so far.

Dove stayed quiet, unable to think of anything to say to the girl in such a terrifying moment. Instead, she looked up to the television again, wondering if there would be any further explanation on the matter. However, she would be sorely disappointed, as it appeared the League had given its speech and for now, there would be little detail offered. With a sigh, she looked over to Yuri, feeling even worse-- though he had offered good advice, she felt terribly that it had taken so much out of him.

Jace continued to shake and cry, doing his best to keep it quieter now that he had an audience that refused to leave him alone. Words bounced around everywhere in his head, and yet he couldn't find a way to say anything he wanted to. He didn't want to say anything, but at the same time, he felt pressured to, as if if he didn't, it would disrespect everything the man was, by him not explaining it all.

After a moment, a ball on the boy's belt opened itself, and a Charmander appeared, very obviously shocked and concerned his boy was in such a state. After looking over to Flynn--and making sure that he wasn't hurting him-- the little fire type patted the boy's arms. "Chaaaarrr...."

Looking up again over the top of his arms, the boy hesitated, took a shaky breath, then reached forward and drew the pokemon into a hug. Surprised, Chester moved closer, then hunkered down in his hold, willing to do whatever it took to comfort him.

The boy sniffled, tears still pouring. "D-Dragon M-Master Lance can't be dead.. H-He just can't!"

Yuri just continued to lay there with his eyes closed in silence. He heard what was going on around him but just didn't respond to any of it at the moment.

Flynn though, remained by Jace's side. The boy certainly didn't have to say anything, in fact he half expected him not to say anything. But what came out of him was heart breaking, and brought back painful memories of a time when he'd said something similar.

The boy's charmander though, would at least help keep him warm in this cold weather.

"You must have really looked up to him," Flynn said softly.

There wasn't much more to say- at least anything that Henrietta could think of... and the TV had moved on from the conference.

The girl began to slump and sit back down again- she didn't go back to her drawings, though she watched the papers wearily, thoughtfully.

Calling family- that should be something she should do, but she couldn't bring herself to do it yet...

A chime would let her know that she'd just gotten a text anyway, though she didn't move to retrieve it.

Jace stayed quiet, aside from his sniffling, and kept his face turned away from Flynn. After a few long, long moments, he finally spoke a little. "He's a-awesome... H-He broke up T-Team Rocket a long time ago a-and made them leave... th-they all broke up." A hard sniffle, followed by a cough. "H-He's the Champion, l-like I wanna be a-and h-has the best dragons ever..." It was no secret that the boy's inspiration to become a dragon trainer had been not only his birthplace, but also the man he now spoke of. "H-He can't be gone! W-We need him again!"

Dawn looked over at Bistra, then down to the humans again. This was unsettling...

Dove stayed quiet as well, watching as Henrietta sank back. When her tone went off, the woman's eyes were drawn in the direction of the sound before she tipped her head. "I-I'm sure that's something important..." she said quietly, as if gently urging her to answer it.

Parents. Her heart sank again. Jace's parents would be beside themselves...

Flynn listened quietly, and thus all the pieces started coming together. His blue eyes looked down at the ground and he nodded.

"I see..." he said and paused a moment before going on. "It sounds like he knew what he was doing. And even though it ended this way, it must have been worth it to him."

Henrietta shook her head and drew her knees up, waiting for Jace to come back with Flynn and the birds.
Whatever was being texted could wait; she didn't really want to see what people might want to tell her at that particular moment.

Henrietta's body language gave her away, and when she shook her head, Dove nodded quietly, then looked over to Yuri again. This was horrible... She had no idea what to do or even an inkling of how to handle it. So, for now, she sat on the floor with the girl, her head low. She needed to call the boy's parents...

Jace pressed his face into his arm, his cheek pressed into the Charmander's neck as he listened to the man beside him, tears still pouring freely. "H-He was th-the best..." A hiccup. "H-He can't be gone! H-How? T-Team R-Rocket i-is...is..."

Unable to think of any sort of label for the group, or think clearly at all, the boy broke into shaky, young sobs again, unwilling to look at the man at all.

Eventually Yuri opened his eyes again and looked at the girls. "Now that I think about it I remember Jace talking about a Lance. He's some League big shot right?" The question was innocent enough as he was genuinely curious. He didn't want to be left in the dark.

"They're bad people," Flynn finished as the bit broke down into sobs again. He sighed and frowned. It was this sort if injustice that Flynn tried to stop. But this wasn't his country and it wasn't his fight. But this boy was obviously suffering.

The man went quiet, waiting for the inevitable moment that the boy would tire himself out of crying. He would stay there and offer any support that he could.

"... He's. Was." Henrietta frowned, keeping her back to people for the moment.
"He was the Champion- the Indigo League. Supposed to be the strongest."

Dove listened as Henrietta explained things to Yuri, waiting a moment before giving her share. "H-He was involved with Team Rocket's original disbanding..." That had been before she had known--or cared at all-- about the villain's impact on the world. It had never affected her, aside from stories of heroes of the League, including Lance Tetsuya. "He was a celebrity after he had proved himself, too. D...Dragon pokemon, I think, and he was always part of the elite four in both Johto and Kanto, right? And then Champion?"she asked Hen quietly, unsure of the information herself. Things she had heard, mostly from the boy who had just ran from the room and rumors passed among her friends interested in 'the sport'... They wouldn't hurt so badly, if she didn't know how they would effect Henrietta, Jace, and the League's outlook on things now.

Jace said no more and only cried, embarrassed and hurt and terrified and angry. Bad people... They were evil people...

After a while, the boy would finally fall into weak sniffles and hiccups, exhausting himself from all the crying, and shivering almost violently, even despite his charmander's warmth.

Yuri listened quietly but there was still an element if confusion on his face. "So he was a really strong Pokemon right?" He could say more, but Yuri knew he was pushing the limits of his fragile state, so he kept it simple.

Flynn watched the boy as he started to calm down and could see the emotions at work. There was so much he could say abd yet he knew most of it would probably be of any comfort in the state he was in.

Still he offered the boy a small smile. "You know it's always okay to cry, especially when you've lost someone important to you. So you don't need to be ashamed. I don't know what Lance was like, but I do know how it feels to lose your hero."

Henrietta nodded.
"He was from Blackthorn, like Jace is. A lot of dragon trainers are."
