[FIN] Down Time

Her reaction was a bit quicker this time, though still more solemn than normal. "Oh.. that's alright." She offered a slight smile over her shoulder, then lifted the final contents of the box, drawing out a treetopper with draping ribbons. Quietly walking back over to the tree, she stretched, too short to reach the top of the tree.

Satin opened her mouth to answer, then scowled as a little pink mew quickly zoomed over to them, delighted by the decor. it explained, tumbling through the air. < I dunno though, really, but I like it lots!>

Lovey smiled fondly at the little mew, as did Tobi. Diana giggled at its antics, but Satin only sighed, unamused. Byakko swiveled an ear, but said nothing and stayed still otherwise.

Seeing that she was having trouble reaching the top of the tree, Yuri stood reached over to take the tree topper. "I'll get it," he told her with a small smile. He then reached up, having to step on his tip toes but he managed to get it on. He then stood back, subconsciously holding his side as it ached a little, while admiring the decoration.

Astal turned his head as he watched the Mew tumble through the air. With another huff he rose to his paws and padded over to the tree where he sat and peered at his reflection in one of the shiny bobbles. He then swatted at it, eyes going wide when the entire tree jingled lightly from the motion.

When he took the topper, she blinked at him, then stepped back to give him a little more room. "Thanks..." She watched him when he stepped back to look up at it, her eyes going to his side. "You okay?"

When Astal swatted at the ornament and caused the tree to shake, Satin opened an eye to look up at it, then slowly pushed herself up to her paws and stretched her back, yawning as she sat up. she told Astal, grinning at his expression.

"Yeah," Yuri assured her, but moved to the couch and sat down again. He continued to look at the tree though, because... well... it was pretty. Christmas tress were always just nice to look at.

Astal frowned. "" he groused.

She watched him with a little concern, then went to move another box, satisfied for now. Once all the boxes were neatly arranged on her table and the stray tinsel was collected, she looked over at the pokemon, then to Yuri again, walking behind the couch as she smoothed her sweater. "I'm going to run to the store really quickly... It's just down the street. Is there anything else you need or want?" she asked, reaching for her coat and scarf.

Eggnog. It was definitely on her list, now.

Satin grinned even wider. she teased, stepping around him to hop onto the back of the couch, silently demanding Dove's attention as she rubbed her head against the girl's shoulder and received a long stroke of her back.

"Naw, I'll stay here and keep an eye on the Pokemon," he said, not wanting to admit that he was tired and hurt too much to go.

Astal rolled his eyes a little at the Liepard as she sauntered off. Instead he went back to the couch and laid down next to it again.

Slipping into her coat, she nodded. "Okay... I'll be back in just a few minutes." With that, she stepped out, locking the door behind her as she released Sparky into the hallway.

A good while after she had departed, her doorbell would ring, and a small white package would be delivered, her full name and address written in large, flowing script across the top in a rich colored ink.

Once she had gone, Yuri relaxed on the couch and attempted to take another nap. However, he would be thwarted again as he heard a doorbell ring. Ugh.

Just a little irritated, he went to the door to see who the heck it was. But upon opening it he didn't see anyone. Blinking in confusion he then looked down and saw the box. Picking it up he then shut the door again.

Curiously he looked it over for a moment then set it on the counter for when Dive got back.

When Dove finally returned, gone much longer than she had expected and promised, she slipped in through the door, Sparky behind her, and literally tossed her phone across and into the kitchen sink before setting aside the bags and stripping off her coat and scarf.

Sparky stayed quiet, looking around the apartment, his eyes settling over Yuri for a moment, before he moved to settle in front of the door to Dove's bedroom. It appeared he didn't have the energy to fight at the moment, nor intimidate.

Again Yuri tried to sleep and again he was interrupted as Dove made a not so quiet entrance. Hearing the sound of something clattering in the sink. Yuri blinked and sat up to look.

His gaze going to Sparky for a moment who was actually not giving him a dirty look and then to Dove.

"Uh... That package came for you."

Carrying her bags to the kitchen, she laid out their contents on the counter none to gently, having to stood and catch the carton of eggnog as it slipped off the edge. All but stuffing the cooler ingredients into the fridge, she turned to Yuri as he announced she had gotten a package, sighed and closed her eyes for a moment as if to calm down, then stepped around to pick up the box in question, looking it over for a few seconds, then unceremoniously chucking it into the rubbish bin and turning back to the task at hand in the kitchen, pausing at the stove, her grip on the edges tight as she fought to relax.

Yuri watched her with an odd look on his face. Yeah something was definitely up. He could only guess what possibly happened while she was out.

"This might be a dumb question... But are you okay?"

Unmoving from her spot, she hung her head, finally letting the tension out of her shoulders. "I'm sorry... I'm fine..." she finally allowed.

Tobi, who had taken to playing with Trill near the fire, upon seeing his trainer's demeanor, flitted over to the counter, settling nearby to watch her more closely. "Toki?"

"That was a rhetorical question you know," Yuri pointed out, because he didn't believe her one bit. Even the Pokemon knew something wasn't right judging by Tobi's reaction.

Silence hung between them for a while, until she finally moved to pull ingredients for their meal, walking slowly by the counter to pat the togetic's head. "Sorry... Mother called." she explained, unable to look at him.
