A giant mechanical device was being rolled noisily down the hall towards the classroom. As it reached the doorway, it let out a pitiful whine while it was forcefully shoved through it. The sides screeched and the door frame shook, refusing entry. After a few more attempts, it was clearly stuck there, rendered immobile by its sheer size. Behind it, a tiny little voice was groaning, as someone continued to try and push it forward. Whoever it was, remained hidden completely behind the monstrous electrical device. She huffed, and puffed, and struggled mightily, but all it sounded like was a few pitiful little whines.
Eventually she stopped, and the soft clack of footsteps echoed in the hallway, walking away. Was she leaving them? What kind of teacher would trap their students like this-
"Stay clear!" Her warning came closer, but it was so small and quiet, that the soft buzz of conversation in the room completely drowned it out. A moment later, the mechanical device was hurtled down the aisle, after the door frame splintered and gave way. In its remains, Selene's giant snake tail could be seen swishing dangerously to and fro, after having used it to dislodge her device. She quickly coiled it back up behind her, and shuffled in with hunched shoulders and crimson cheeks.
"Sorry, oh, so sorry, I hope you're all safe! Is anyone injured? No? Good, good! So glad to hear it. Ah, look at all of these fresh young faces, both old and new! I'm filled with such joy to see you all here!"
She rolled the device down the aisle, greeting new students and stopping to praise familiar faces for returning. She was all smiles and blushes, a tiny and ridiculous thing considering the size of what she was moving to the front.
The strange device was rolled until it reached her desk, and she stopped there. "Ah, yes, good, lovely to see you all," She mumbled under her breath as she started to fiddle with tiny buttons and dials. "Now let me see here, just attach this to.. and now we should be.." Her hand reached for a remote, and she clicked the on button. The giant screen in the middle of the device came roaring to life with loud, violent static.
"Oh, there we go! Ah, heeellloooo! Are you there? Hellooo? Oh no, oh dear, oh my.." She started to push buttons violently on the remote. "I suppose.. we're not ready for that just yet.." Finally, she hit the mute button, and the static remained on the screen in relieving silence. Selene whirled around, smiling nervously at the students. "Yes hello, welcome welcome!" Her normal speaking voice was barely a whisper, and yet this, her teacher-speaking voice, was just a twitch higher than that. "Thank you for coming today! It's just, oh, such a pleasure to see you all!" She clapped her hands giddily. "And I have a special treat prepared for you. Today's topic is Teamwork - a skill that, in this humble professors opinion, is vital to your every day lives. Practicing your teamwork will assist you in all aspects of your future! So, ah, let's get started, shall we?"
She turned just enough to open two cabinet drawers within the metal giant behind her. Inside of the cabinets were dozens of simple wireless controllers, with a small antenna attached to the top. "Would everyone please come up and take a controller, and then sit back down in your seats! We will begin soon enough, I just need to, oh, connect this, yes, or perhaps.. oh dear, this wire is fried.."
Despite the exciting look of the poster, it looked like they were going nowhere - fast.
Quote: Class has officially begun! Pick up one of the controllers - they are exactly as shown, except they are wireless and have an antenna on top. The buttons you see are four directional buttons, Select, Start, A, and B. You can press them all you like now, they won't do a thing. If you come in late, at any point in the class, just pick up a controller and join in the fun. There will be random minor updates, NPC interaction, and one major update each day, but that will not normally come this late in the day - and if you miss an update or two, your experience will not be affected. Just join in when you've got the time - but make sure you play hard when you do! There will be no quoting during updates, so please come back and check once a day if you can, and get ready for something really chaotic.

Erebus was trying to attend more classes now, as a new year's resolution. And by that, he meant, new class year's resolution, since he was now technically a year 2 student, and it wasn't as if he had never attended classes, it was just that he had sometimes... been so engrossed in a book that he simply forgot the time.
The Cerberus boil slipped in the back of the class as Professor Selene left the room for a moment, settling into his seat as he watched her thoughtfully. There hadn't been much explanation for the class beforehand, only that poster which said something about adventure. Erebus wasn't quite sure what that meant.
And teamwork too? The boil shrank down in his seat slightly. The last time he had been in a class with Professor Selene regarding teams, he had landed himself in the same group as Tomoko and a lot of embarrassment.
He didn't see the kitsune ghoul around, nor his brother... but was that his brother's boilfriend? Erebus squinted in Ash's direction. Huh. He looked rather different from usual too...
Dutifully, he shuffled up to the front to take a controller, and then proceeded to walk back to his seat.

Are you looking for Adventure?
Helmut stared at those words for perhaps too long. Yes. Yes she did want adventure. She liked adventures. They were fun, and you got dirty, and maybe if she was lucky there would be mud! Oh gosh, now she was hoping for mud.
...And she knew just who to bring with her.
The epiphany had her fleeing to the demon dorms as quickly as she could, knocking and scratching on Li Shou's door until he got annoyed enough to open it. The little ghoul was persistent and, when the cat sidhe tried to get out of it, she grabbed him by the hand and physically dragged him out of his room, whining the whole time about how he should stop being a stupid stick in the dumb mud. She may have been much smaller than he was, but she was stubborn, and loud, and no amount of resistance was going to stop her in dragging him to the class. Because adventure, and mud and fun - and maybe something about balls and fossils, but she wasn't sure. Adventure.
She got there just in time to hear the tail end of Selene's speech; something about Teamwork, and getting started, and...little boxes with buttons on them? The ghoul still held onto Li Shou's hand, if only because she was afraid he would run, but her free hand grabbed a controller, looking at it with a great deal of disappointment.
"...I thought there was gonna be an adventure..." Helmut whined unhappily, her ears lowering so far they disappeared into her mass of fluffy hair. She finally let go of him, utterly dejected, and poked at the useless buttons with about as much interest as a child facing broccoli.

It was obvious the cat boil was NOT PLEASED as a small clawed hand pulled him along like an over-glorified stuffed animal. "For the last time, pig monster, I. DON'T. WANT. T-"
Li Shou froze up as he stumbled through the door, multicolored eyes as wide as a full moon. Up until this point, he had only experienced one on one time with other students. Now, it seemed, the small cat was being thrown to the wolves.
Could they smell his weakness? His fear? Did they see how out of his element he really was?
There was only one thing to do...
And that was inhale, puff up his chest, and walk in like he was a force to be reckoned with.
In all reality, he just looked ridiculous.
While Helmut seemed completely dejected by the sight of the controller, Li Shou was absolutely elated. So much that his fears had completely vanished. "A video game!" The demon gasped happily, grabbing a controller and examining it with eyes sparkling like little gems. "Mama wouldn't let me have one of these, but I've heard so much about them!" His ears twitched as he listened to the little clicking sound the buttons made when you pushed them. "Oh mystical game machine, reveal to me your magic secrets."
