[PRP] Fancy Facilities {Fin}

She cowed just like she was supposed to in a situation like this. "No disrespect meant, Agent..." He had introduced himself as Aulus and even though she had learned in basic that you addressed superiors by their rank the introduction had gave her pause. And in the back of her brain she had considered exactly what to call him. She lowered her eyes submissively and shook her head.

No she hadn't missed the memo. She could be mean and laugh at trainers... she didn't even have a problem stealing pokemon... but to the pokemon that looked to you... it was better to treat them with respect. And that generally lead to being nice. She looked pointedly to Aulus' hand resting on his absol. And she hid a secret smile, but probably not well enough. -And then he used a MLP reference and caffe nearly died.-

She frowned. "Sir... could you clarify the difference between nice and kind?" She said it formally trying not to sound contradictory but to here they went hand in hand... She nodded. "Yes sir... And fight they shall... " She nodded her head to signal she was all clear and then looked to munchy. "Ok... lets show him... Use Body Slam."

Sissy eyed the man and disliked the rough sound of his voice and how angry he was acting. But she didn't care about Kailee and how she was being treated right? And then Phaeth spoke again. She nodded. /I can see that... / Sissy sighed and backed up so munchy would have room.

Munchy perked up and nodded. He rushed char, he didn't hesitate and threw himself to try and take the charizard down with the attack.

Char sighed in a mildly resigned manner and prepared himself to be a target. Rather than resisting the impact of the Body Slam he allowed it to carry him to the ground, less painful that way... theoretically. The impact still drove the air out of his lungs though, and as he picked himself up he gave the smaller pokemon a nod of approval. he declared solemnly.

Tortie put in with sneering tones, apparently less impressed.

Char rumbled,

Tortie huffed and sat down, glaring at Munchy malevolently on principle.


Aulus meanwhile, satisfied that rank had been sufficiently pulled, tried to get the words lined up correctly in his head. How the hell did he express this? "Don't pander to them," he said eventually with a shrug, "you can't afford to. Sometimes training hurts, that's unavoidable.... What I mean is that while you should never be deliberately unkind - ever - you can't wrap your team in cotton wool either. You have to expect them to work hard, sometimes when they don't feel like it, but you should show willingness to do the same yourself." Damn, he was really good at off the cuff quips and insults; why was giving explanations different? He'd managed it, more or less, but it felt to him like it had been a clunky way to put it. He could have done better, a lot better, and looked less like a muscle-headed idiot who couldn't string a sentence together. Ugh.

Munchy hopped back quickly after. He looked ready for another attack. He heard Kai's praise and then looked to Char. /Thanks!/ He was grateful for the approval of another more powerful pokemon. "Munch!" he did a fist pump.

Kailee smiled at the pokemon getting pumped up and then looked to Aulus. She just nodded even though she wished to stare at him blankly. She was here... she was the one who had dragged the pokemon here because she wanted to practice. She didn't let the wigglytuff get away with not training. She was going to make sure that they got some training in. And she was no stranger to hard work, well at least when it came to training.

Intimidation was a good cover though. He had put Kailee in her place and she was much to much worried that she had offended him so badly and she wasn't going to be able to ever gain his respect because first impressions were always the most noted. So she looked back to her munchlax who had gone from pumped to looking slightly depressed.

Munchy had looked to the Absol. And the comment had made him feel bad. He had been working on that one... So Kailee called. "Munchy Use Surf!" She was going to say to use it but not on Char, but the man didn't care about the pokemon getting hurt... it was inevitable right? Surf was a move that he had come with... Munchies previous owner had taught him that one. Munchy nodded and it came as a rush. A torrent of water, a wave swamping the field and his surroundings. Sissy dove next to Kailee to miss the water. Proud of himself, Munchy nodded his head and looked to Tortie. Sissy huffed. /You almost drenched me! Im on your side remember!/ Munchy put a hand behind his head.

Kailee glanced to Aulus to see his reaction. She expected a negative reaction at this point... after all she just used a water move on his fire type... So she expected him to be angry at her. Telling her that she didn't have to use it on char but could have still shown it. Her blue eyes held worry as she looked to her superior.

Char stared at the wall of water. The wave cut off the rest of whatever he had been going to say and left him blinking and coughing in its wake.

The Charizard wasn't the only one to take the hit; it slammed into Tortie too, sending her tumbling over a few times before she could find her paws again. When she did she growled, teeth bared and claws extended.

"Hey!" Aulus gave a sharp whistle, stopping the Absol in her tracks. "You knew he was practising on Char, you should have stayed out of the damn way wit the rest of us," he said unsympathetically; it was only her pride that was hurt and as such he didn't feel sorry for her in the least. "If you want something to bite take Killer into the corner and train together." Hu, and look at that, the water from the surf attack was already draining neatly into discreet grates at the sides of the room; it really was nicely designed in here.

Tortie locked gazes with her trainer for a few moments but eventually huffed and turned away. she growled as a parting shot to Munchy.

the quiet fairy type replied amicably, trotting after the Absol to the far side of the training room, his cute pink and cream feelers floating along behind him.

Pokemon dealt with Aulus turned back to Kailee, arms crossed over his chest. "Did you pick that move for him?" he quizzed and while his tones weren't what you could call friendly they weren't hostile anymore either.

Munchy gave a partially concerned look to Char but taking his cue from Kailee he covered it and then had to look at the Absol. When Char was righted though he glanced back to the Absol. He almost let off another attack in fear of the absol. She was bigger... stronger and now pissed... yep... enough to be scared of.

At the whistle though Munchy looked up too. He blinked and looked back to Kailee who seemed to relax just a bit. No matter how well they looked when practicing when it came to battling she had always been tense. So the looming battle between her munchlax and the absol didn't seem to go over well with her. But as soon as it was diffused she relaxed. She had to wonder though... did she have to be as hard and cold as this man? He had a headstrong pokemon... and yet he had it in control...

Munchy blinked as the Absol and Sylvion padded off. Yeah... he probably had but instead he puffed out his chest. He was about to stick out his tongue but Kailee saw him. "Munchy No!" He folded his tongue back in his mouth and pouted. Kailee looked to Aulus. She wished a that moment she had. But in a sense this was a trick question. She had... It was one she had kept when she got him... His next move she had used a tm for... but she frowned. "Yes... I thought it was good for him to keep it... it gave him a power move that could be a type advantage to fire and rock and stuff...." She hesitated but gave a small smile. He didn't sound as mean... maybe she hadn't totally screwed up...

She glanced back to Munchy. "Try Toxic now!" Munchy nodded and shot a line of purple gunk at Char. She kinda hoped the man had an antidote on him. But if not she did... Although she was still deciding if the man would appreciate the sentiment. He seemed to want no help... But because of all the injuries and accidents she had she tended to carry at least 2 full heals on her. Afterall, her accidents often involved her pokemon.

As Char winced under the splatter of that thick gunk Aulus couldn't help but wince slightly in sympathy; he knew Char didn't mind, that it was nothing he wasn't sure to, but that didn't mean he didn't feel at least a little guilty. It was necessary though given the life he'd chosen, there was no point worrying about it. Course, that didn't stop him worrying but it did mean he tried not to show it.

"Useful move," Aulus said after a slight pause. "You might want to see if you can get a pokemon that knows either Hex or Venoshock, both of those double in power against any status condition and against poisoned pokemon respectively. As for Surf," Aulus shrugged, "it gives the element of surprise and it could be a useful utility move for you. With just two pokemon I can understand wanting to give yourself a wide spread of attack types too but Surf is a special move and Munchlax and Snorlax aren't too hot in that department so it will never be that powerful. If you get another pokemon that can learn it who has a better Special Attack stat I'd recommend teaching it to them instead." Still.... Body Slam, Surf, Toxic so far. It was an eclectic mix - and he certainly wouldn't have picked Surf - but it wasn't a bad set so far at all.

"Hang on a second," Aulus added, holding up a hand to Kailee and Munchy as he headed over to Char. Once he was beside the queasy looking fire type he fetched a box out of his pocket and flicked it open to reveal a stock of dried berries. "Here," he plucked one out and tossed it forward; Char caught it neatly in his mouth and chewed industriously. A moment later he gave himself a shake and straightened up looking a lot happier about things in general.

"Okay," Aulus nodded as he turned and walked back over to Kailiee, "you can ask him for the last one now."

Kailee kinda looked down because she knew that Char wouldn't dodge or attack back. However in looking away from char and Munchy she saw Aulus wince. She didn't know if she was imagining it or not but she looked back not willing to call the agent on that. If he wanted to act like he was better then caring... then she would let him... And she would just know that his pokemon were well cared for. She cared about that... but she couldn't go around telling people that.

She nodded and then listened. She wasn't sure about that.. she liked normal types... it was kind of her thing... But she really wouldnt turn down any pokemon. She looked down. Maybe she should have taught a different move. But if she was up against a fire type she had no good move to use... So even though it wasn't extremely powerful... It was still super effective against a fire type...

She nodded when she was told to wait and she smiled to her munchlax. The pokemon was doing well. And then she smiled as char looked up feeling better. At the go ahead she nodded to Munchy. "Use Last Resort!" Munchy nodded and ran forward, fast, for a munchlax, and he launched a strong attack to Char.

Owch.

While Char remained on his feet the attack left him reeling and looking really very sorry for himself, prompting Aulus to call him back to the safety of his pokeball. "Now that is a good move choice," he said firmly as he turned to Kailee. "It takes advantage of his stronger attack stat and of STAB. If you're aiming for him to be a powerful hitter rather than any versatility what I would do if I were you is this; when he gets stronger is get him Belly Drum, Rest, Last Resort and... oh, one other, I can't think right away. Oh, Snore maybe? Yeah. So your set up would be Belly Drum, Rest to restore his health, Snore while he's sleeping and then Last Resort. That'll hit your opponent with a super powerful attack turned up to eleven with his maximized attack. You could make it even better by getting yourself a 'support' pokemon that knows Helping Hand to boost the attack by another half."

Aware that he had just talked quite a lot Aulus paused to give Kailee a chance to absorb it all. From her teaching Munchy Surf, or having him keep the move at any rate, he wasn't sure that all out attack actually was the way she wanted to go but perhaps she'd elucidate on the matter in a moment.

Owch was right. Kailee winced, but cheered her pokemon as well. "That was an amazing hit Munchy!" She smiled very happy for him and then she looked to Aulus her eyes still glittering with pride for her pokemon.

That attack was one that Munchy knew as an egg move so again Kailee had just kept it but she nodded. She frowned a bit listening. Was that what she wanted? A heavy hitter pokemon? It was a good set up... But she was happy with having these moves for now.. But she would have to think about it... Snore... That or sleep talk... She was now contemplating a whole change in his moves. So what she needed was more pokemon and then she could focus her pokemon's talents.

So she needed to think about what she wanted. Was she holding her pokemon back by keeping surf? Maybe... She would have to think about it. "Thank you, Agent... Ill really think about it... " She glanced to Sissy who looked away. So she would work hard to be better... for her pokemon.

Aulus shrugged, registering the thanks but not necessarily believing in it. People said stuff all the time just to be polite after all. "It depends on your style, and what you want from your pokemon. It's easier to work that out when you have a full team of six at the very least though, you've got time to work it out, but I'd definitely keep Last Resort for Munchy."

Now then.

"To move on to your actual problem.... Sissy." Aulus turned now to face the Wigglytuff, keeping his arms relaxed by his sides. "So, Sissy, how about you show off what you can do? In your own time, and you can pick any of my team to demonstrate on."

He wasn't sure if that could catch Sissy's interest or if the Wigglytuff might just decide she didn't want to do anything that was asked of her / suggested to her by a human. Well, he'd soon find out he supposed.

She did mean it. She wasn't sure she had a style just yet but she was definitely going to take that all into consideration. She nodded. "I will keep that one... Although it takes three moves to get to it... so no one hit knock outs..." She smiled though. She was learning so much. And then she looked back when he said his next line. She tried not to laugh, she really did... but she couldn't help it. Sissy had heard that line and she blew up so fast. She was glaring at the man. But then she was asked to show off?

Kailee grinned. "Yeah sissy i know you can do it! Why don't you show him how well you can use your moves." She saw the want to show off flicker in her pokemon's eyes. And then she was given the leave to pick a fight with who ever she wanted so she looked to the tortoiseshell absol and grinned pointing. "Tuff! Wiggly!" And then she seemed to clear her throat. She used sing. "Wigglytuff... Wiggly~" That and play rough were the moves Sissy knew best. So it wasn't surprising that she picked that one.

Kailee shook her head. Sissy was going to get shredded if that absol fought back. She was a higherish level pokemon... at least she was the strongest of Kailee's pokemon. She frowned. "Sissy! You should have asked if Tortie wanted to fight before just attacking..."

"Team Rocket doesn't usually award points for style and he'd have to be a hell of a lot stronger than any other pokemon to one hit KO with Surf for example," Aulus shrugged with a slight snort of amusement. Time to see what the other one had though.... Ah. "Well, that's always a good one," Aulus observed as Tortie turned, wavered, and then folded up in a snoozing heap.

Killer, bereft of his training partner, twitched his feelers in displeasure and sat back to watch.

"Don't even think about it," Aulus said firmly to the fairy type, pointing to his own eyes with his first two fingers and then over at Killer. "Behave. Why don't you go fight Phaeth instead?"

Killer gave a little huff but after giving a paw a wash to show that he was in now way in any rush he trotted over to the Rapidash and launched a Quick Attack at him.

With that potential issue dealt with Aulus turned back to Sissy and nodded, maybe addressing her directly rather than Kailee would... he didn't even know but he was doing it now so there. "If you can keep a stronger foe asleep you've got a much better chance of taking them down, obvious I know but it leads on to my next point; if you're working with Munchy be careful to watch for whether or not he's already used Toxic or you'll just be wasting a move. So long as he keeps that move the three of you," he nodded to Kailee, "need to work out a system for determining whether you want the damage from poison, or to keep yourselves protected for a while by using sleep status."

She laughed and wrinkled her nose. "I was talking about Last resort... If it takes all three other moves to trigger the move then it really is impractical when trying to battle and be done quickly, though." She shrugged. "If sissy starts listening she can be my one hit pokemon..." She laughed softly at his snort but then covered half her face as Sissy went to pick a fight. She had a thing against this absol it seemed. She nodded. "Tuff! Tuff! Wiggly!" She was very proud of that move.

Sissy looked back and puffed up at Killer, seeing the displeasure. However at the dont even think about it she smiled and stuck out her tongue before turning back. What sissy really needed was a firm hand to control the angst. Although she gave a little credit to Kailee for withstanding the lecture from this man... although she gave a lot more credit to Aulus. Because he had firm control over his pokemon but they still liked him. Although he had grumpy moods... and that worried sissy.

Sissy turned back to Aulus. She nodded and rolled her eyes like tell me something i don't know. She glanced to the munchlax and glared. Her move was better... always. Munchy moved closer to Kailee under that look from sissy. Kailee was just politely listening at this point. Hopefully what would come out of this was she would learn how to handle her pokemon. /Sleep... always sleep./ She nodded and then without prompting he she launched another attack at the sleeping Absol. She moved close and it almost looked like playing but it was very much an attack.

"Oh, yeah," Aulus nodded, "takes a bit of set up but we often end up in intense battles on missions that last a while. On the other hand we also often need to take care of things quickly so, again, a balance of skills on your team is good...." What was that move? "Play Rough?" he hazarded with a deep frown as he watched the sleeping Tortie take a pummelling; he wasn't all that familiar with most Fairy type moves yet, his only experience were the ones Killer knew....

All of this still wasn't really telling him how to deal with Sissy. Was it? Well she liked showing off her strength so there was a basic willingness to fight there which was a start, it was just a matter of obedience. Hahaha, 'just'.

"Have you spent much time with your pokemon just out of their pokeballs hanging out?" Aulus asked after a momentary pause.

She nodded. "Well then Sissy will put them to sleep so munchy has a chance...Right?" Sissy gave her a flat look but Munchy nodded seeming to like the idea. She nodded again. "Exactly."

Kailee watched pretty impressed of what her pokemon could accomplish when sissy put her mind to it. Kailee would have laughed with the man if he had said that out loud. Sissy really did just need to learn to mind. The problem wasnt with Sissy. It was with Kailee. She loved sissy already. Sissy was the first pokemon that had been given directly to her and thus sissy got away with pretty much anything. Minus direct orders being ignored. Like lets train turned into we shall be training even if i have to drag you.

At least it couldnt be said that Kailee didnt follow through on her threats. She nodded. "I try to let them out when ever i can... but sissy objects to going back in so its all a fight... all the time..." She frowned though and then looked up "Ok sissy... Show him your Thunderbolt!" Sissy looked over and contemplated... an onlooker could see the gears turning in her brain and then she turned back and used Flamethrower instead. It wasn't as strong as it could be but it was stronger then what Aulus would have seen before when she tried to undo the sheets.

Kailee frowned. "Thats not..." She sighed. Once again sissy was going to get away with it.
