Even if he could swim such a ridiculous stretch of water, which he most CERTAINLY could not, Kyuzo wasn't the type to abandon people while they were hurt. He was making rounds through areas considered unsafe by JPs now, but that still possibly held civilians in them. The outer skirts of the safe zones, but which were now only some of the middle parts of the city. To think they'd been pushed inwards away from the rural areas so fast...it was terrifying how strong demons were, when let free. "...wait, haven't I been here before?" 'Buy one g_t on_ fr__!!', 'Com_ in and _njoy!', and so forth hung about, in a strange fashion. The letters weren't ripped out however, simply gone...as if the work of demons. "I'd better be careful in this area. Something's not right." Kyuzo gripped his sword hilt tightly, preparing for whatever lay in wait... "...wait, haven't I been here before?" The demon was certainly an odd one, but now he wanted to relax, which seemed unlikely. The demons were harassing the people of the city even now, and he needed to be the buffer between them and the terrors that lurked so close. Still, that egg based custard dish would be delicious. If only he knew of some chef in training who had that as his specialty, and yet was also resolved enough to survive in this sort of world. If only... "...wait, haven't I been here before?" The new AI was a curiosity to Kyuzo, but even if he asked he felt like Tico wouldn't give him a straight answer. The screen displayed a vast room inside, and although he couldn't tell the dimensions properly, the perception was that Tico had free reign inside of his own little world. It made Kyuzo wonder if it was a whole generated world, like a video game...or if it was simply an illusion to fool the eyes. "Ah, you there!" Suddenly another guy about the same age as Kyuzo came running up to him with a large blue hat on. He took a few deep breaths before holding up, to Kyuzo's amazement, a glass with some steaming hot chawanmushi. "Here, take it. I've been trying to find ingredients nearby, but with the demons I don't think I'll find anymore...or that there will be anyone to eat it. Eat this and get strong, so you can kill more demons." A silence followed as the two both stood with jaws slightly agape, no words being shared...only emotions. Only bro-motions! "Bro..." "...ther?" The two's eyes widened. They were! They were brothers (in arms!), comrades, allies (of the soul!). Suddenly a bro-hug ensued, as Kyuzo took a bite of the delicious chawanmushi that his fellow orphan and hard worker had made, giving a thumbs up to encourage him. The taste was amazing! Out of this world. "I'll be going to Tokyo after this, to fight more demons. I hope you'll come along. You just have to use that Terminal thingie over there." Jungo motioned towards the stand, and Kyuzo nodded. It was a...pole...thingie. But he'd figure out how it worked later! Luckily for him, Jungo was sending the coordinates for the other cities into his phone while he wasn't paying attention, proving that yes...in fact...there was someone more airheaded than Keita's bff in this world. He hadn't earned the codes to Sapporo, and it was possible that the Chief of JPs knew just how to get there. If he continued to keep the city safe for him, he might soon reveal them to Kyuzo, or at least give him information on where to go next. But more importantly...the streets were become increasingly more cracked, and buildings were crumbling from the damage being done to them. It wasn't just the initial shockwave...the whole influx of monsters was something they were barely stymieing, and even with each victory the area nearby was more and more damaged every moment. He had lost count at this point of just how many times he'd been forced to liberate the sheen of the metal from beneath the caked demon fluids, but it was beginning to depress him. His sword was his greatest treasure, a present given to him when he left the orphanage and also a part of his new life, and yet now he was forced to draw it time and again to shed the blood of beasts to protect others. It was a worthy cause, the right cause, but...it also proved that it had to be done in the first place. And that was just as sad. "...wait, haven't I been here before?" Kyuzo had ventured far beyond the safe zone, and the demons were increasingly with frightening speed, as he could hardly go a minute now without encounter some beast. If he found a difficult foe, he'd be wiped out for sure, but...it was worth the risk, the rise in frequency. What he'd found was the beach, and along the shore were dozens of bodies of people who had been unable to flee the demons. No, maybe even that wasn't right. Some were still laying where they relaxed, others were dressed nicely...this place must have been hit so hard, and so fast, that no one was able to tell the beasts were coming, let alone repel them. A high level demon was most likely at fault, and he only hoped that he could encounter the freak before it reached the populated areas...and avenge the ones they'd lost. He was returning to the 'civilized' areas now, but he knew that they weren't that much better. The survivors were being forced to live under the thumb of Yamato Hotsuin, and they were either doing menial jobs for JPs, or more often, were simply being ignored and giving neither food nor treatment. People with wounds were bleeding out, and yet...yet... 'Hotsuin is no better than those back there.' Kyuzo shook his head. He knew that wasn't the case, because Hotsuin had never put a blade to anyone's throat. Still...he could do more, and Kyuzo knew it was true. He saw the yellow paint, a marker that said he was crossing the original boundary set up by JPs again. He was in a formerly safe area, but the ruination was clear. The demons must have pushed the border further inwards...and with the screams up ahead, it meant that Kyuzo had a job to do, even now. His grip on his sword did not loosen. It was his duty to mount the resistance, even if no one had assigned him the task. Indeed, so far he'd merely been completing jobs for JPs agents which had been assigned by their commander, but he himself had neither joined their group nor received orders from their leader. It seemed he understood though, for each agent had some knowledge to pass on to Rikkio when he came by...as if he were being guided to the demons, manipulated as a weapon. He didn't mind that, however. Serving was one of the things he was more capable of, and putting his talents to the test was the best use of them, especially when saving lives. But if his current 'lord' turned out to be unworthy, or someone who made others suffer unnecessarily...he knew how this would end. "...wait, haven't I been here before?" They'd taunted him the moment they saw him, and offered to let him live if he pointed out the nearest 'nest' of humans. They called him weak, and said that all the humans of the city would be exterminated soon, all to make way for more of their kind. But Kyuzo wasn't weak enough to believe such things, and he knew that if he could trust in one thing, it was the heart of himself and humans as a whole. They would band together, and find strength to oppose the demons. Even if he fell...even if...but well, he refused to let that happen! " After assessing the threat, Kyuzo turned and pointed back towards the inner buildings, signalling the JPs agents who had been searching this park to go get some rest. They couldn't keep going forever, and this area wasn't required, but they wanted to keep it clear of demons as a buffer zone. If they just wanted a party for that reason, Kyuzo could do the clean sweep on his own, and eliminate the demons that got in the way. The only problem was, he still hadn't caught sight of any of their greater enemies...he was still merely dealing with fodder. The thought that he might not encounter the cause of this mess at all was exacerbating. He'd do what he could to put an end to all of this...but when would it end? After waving off the JPs agents who were to stay behind and maintain the boundary, Kyuzo began the long slog across several city blocks, hoping to reach the eastern side before things got out of hand for the ones on duty. He wasn't exactly in perfect condition anymore, considering he'd already traveled more than any marathon runner would have in a single day, but the thought that lives hung in the balance continued to drive him, and the more he felt the drive, the more he knew that this was the right thing for him to be doing with this power. The problem was, the East was under the most threat, and his power hadn't increased so substantially as to handle a greater demon on his own yet. If they were already overrun...but, he would only know when he arrived. "...wait, haven't I been here before?" There were already hot debates over what to do about the now weakened eastern edge of Oshu, but as Kyuzo argued with the leader of the eastern defense he now found out something more frightening; the cause of their losses. There were a number of men who'd went out to save a group of women and children from a nearby school, but after the demons started attacking there'd been no word. He knew that it wasn't wise, but...he had to find out what happened to them, and rescue as many as he could. The demon's couldn't be allowed to take anymore lives, and all of them were valuable; both the civilians, and the JPs agents he'd find who would help to strengthen the defense! It might have been suicide...but he had to take that risk, if the city was going to be okay! "...wait, haven't I been here before?" Quote: Mounting an unlikely rescue, Kyuzo saves a number of civilians from the nearby school. Many of the JPs officers had died, but one student showed considerable talent with the Summoning App, and JPs decided to make use of their talents for now. Current Demons: Erthys
