Caroline Grace I only wanna die alive (◡_◡) (◕-◕) (◕o◕) (∩_∩)
Caroline was woken up by Beth bright and early. She had to be on the way to the kingdom by 6 in the morning. It took about two hours to get to the outskirts by the carriage that they would take to the outskirts. What happens is the driver takes them there and leaves. He comes back around nine at night. That gave her plenty of time to go around the towns without being recognized. She looked up at Beth and dismissed her. Before she left, Beth had taken out the dress her mother had put out for her to wear. Caroline sighed as she pushed herself out of her bed and trudged over to the dress. She rolled her eyes at the design. This time it didn't have any type of tie on it. All that there was was a little tie for design in the front, but the fluffiness of the dress was overdoing it. Shedding her clothes, she pulled the dress over her and made sure it was on. Today, her mother had picked out the pair of shoes she wanted Caroline to wear. She walked over to the door of the closest and placed her feet into the shoes. They were just little slipper type of shoes. When she was all dressed, she pulled her hair back into a braid that made her hair half up and half down. That is how her hair usually was worn to the commoner givings.
When she was done, she turned and left the room. Outside, Beth stood to take her down to where she would eat breakfast quickly. It was almost 6, meaning that they needed to leave son. Once they reached the table where they eat, she sat down with her parents already sitting and they ate. Their meal was spent with no talking and Caroline was thankful, but her thankfulness came too soon. "Make sure to behave. I will ask Master Warren if you do anything out of standards." She heard her father say and Caroline had to stop herself from looking at him. "Yes father." She said and was dismissed to leave on her trip. She walked through the castle and was followed to the outside loading area by her parents.
When they had reached the outside, she noticed the carriage already there with the driver, and a few more guards to ride on the back. Now that Caroline had her own guard, he would ride inside the carriage with her while the others rode on the back. Before she had left her room, Caroline was sure to grab some coins and hide them in her clothing. She needed to have money to be able to get food to eat. She wasn't going to use her status to get it for free. Today was going to be a live how everyone else was living day. They waited a little longer as her Father told Master Warren somethings and then she found herself walking towards the carriage. She got in with the help of a servant and then sat down, fixing her dress to be comfortable for the long journey ahead of them. As she was seated in the carriage, she waited for Master Warren to join her in the carriage. She needed to make sure that he had brought the clothing like she had asked. When they got there, they were going to have to find somewhere to change. It was a good thing that the carriage driver didn't stop where they would do the commoners giving ceremony. That way they wouldn't know that she had come. They could just think that no one came. Maybe she could get Master Warren to go to the crowd and tell them that no one was coming and that Caroline was sick or something. She didn't want them to think she had forgotten them.

He had gone into town early to get the princess's disguise; A tan frock, worn shoes, gray weathered cloak, and a maiden's veil, all of which were stored away in a bag. Once inside the castle, he went to his room to put his own things in order. The once-closet was big enough only for the small mattress. There was a bit of space beside it, enough for him to stand and he stuffed his things in the corner. He didn't have many possessions anyway. Instead of dressing in the new clothing the King had provided, he put on his own clothing. He would blend better this way. Carefully, he then packed a piece of parchment, a letter to his mother. He had written her before bed. He told her about being hired by the king, playing up the triumph, and assured her he would be sending for her very soon. He asked, gently, about her health. Not receiving the money for the King had been a blow. He had know it would be far-fetched to assume the King would grant him his wages early, but the end of the month was a long ways away and even with the King's gracious salary, it would be several pay-days before he could afford to have his mother join him. In addition to the cost of a horse and carriage the 16 hour journey, he would need to secure and outfit a home for her before her arrival. He'd thought about asking if there might be a place for her in the castle, but after seeing his own residence, he didn't dare. Once the bag was packed, he retrieved some weapons from the armory. By now, the castle was stirring. They would need to be leaving soon. He equipped only what could be concealed on his person; three throwing knives on the back of his belt and a dagger in the sheath beneath his pant leg. He hoped he wouldn't need anything more. After grabbing an apple for breakfast, Varick rushed to meet the carriage outside. The King was bidding his daughter goodbye. "Master Warren." The King called, pulling the young man aside. "My daughter has a reckless head about her shoulders. Her heart is kind but she does not always think through her actions. I expect you to keep her from trouble." Varick nodded. "Of course, your highness." With that the King bid him a good journey and Varick climbed into the carriage. Varick greeted the princess with a nod. Using her name was still so foreign so he chose the silence instead. He waited until the carriage has passed out of the castle gates before producing her disguise. "These should do to conceal your rank." He said, offering them to her. ◀ ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ±

Caroline Grace I only wanna die alive (◡_◡) (◕-◕) (◕o◕) (∩_∩)
Caroline watched as Varick got into the carriage and sat down. Caroline wanted to know if he had brought the clothes with him or if he had wimped out on it. She knew it was best not to ask while they were still sitting in the presence of her parents, so she decided to wait until they were on the move to the outskirts. Before she knew it, they started moving. Just as she was about to ask him if he had brought the clothes she heard his voice pierce the silence around them, besides the sound of the carriage moving and the house. "Thanks." She said as she looked over at him. He didn't chicken out and they were actually going to do it. She was finally going to see what it was like not to be royal in the kingdom. "Can you do something for me?" She asked him. He was probably confused as to why she would ask him if he would and not just tell him. She didn't like that power she had over him. "When we get there, can you go to where we are supposed to go and tell them that im sick or something. I don't want them to think I stood them up. I still care about them, I just don't want to do it today." She said quickly.
She waited for him to talk and she looked out at the road going by. She loved this part of the trips. She had to sense of adventure and loved how the world looked. Since she was always stuck in the castle, she never gets the chance to just leave and walk around. Now that she has people after her, she would never be able to go out. Her parents would disapprove of what she was going to do today, but she was her own person. She looked back over at him. "Whats your name? Your first name?" She asked him. She was curious about what it was. "If we are going to go around like normal people I am going to have to know your first name." She told him truthfully. She wasn't going to call him by his last name all day. While she was sitting there, she stuck her hand out and eyes the bag he was holding with her clothes in it. "May I?" She asked him. When he gave it to her, she took the bag and opened it to look in and see what clothes she would be wearing. She noticed clothing that she wouldn't wear normally and wouldn't be found at all in the castle. She smiled at the perfect job he did with finding the clothing that would fit in.

☩Ѵarick Шarren ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± ▶Varick had never actually ridden inside a carriage before. Sure, he'd ridden on top or at the back of a carriage on jobs and he was a talented horse rider, but never inside a carriage. The interior, like most of the King's possessions, was ripe with his wealth. The seats were plush, too soft for Varick to be truly comfortable, and the curtains were velvet. The opulence was too much. The King could have fed a family for the rest of their lives, probably the lives of the children as well, for the price of this one carriage. And there were at least 3 more like it back at the castle. He look at (well near) the princess when she asked for a favor. Varick hadn't thought about the people and their disappointment at not being able to see the princess. It was a rare thing for commoners, especially those who lived at the edges of the kingdom, to see anyone in the Royal Family. People who lived out there did it because they could not afford to move closer, people like his mother. The outskirts of the kingdom weren't as well defended, leaving them open to raids and pillaging. The roads were shoddy and it took longer for news to reach them. Varick nodded. "Of course, milady." She had said she didn't like Your Highness. Milady carried less rank and could be used for anyone above a peasant. He looked out the window, drawing back the curtain to see the forest passing outside. They were headed to Kilam, a small Macbeth at the edge of the King's central property. Kilam was a mining town known for its silver and gems. Most of the people were skilled workmen, blacksmiths, farriers, appraisers, jewel-polishers, under the rule of the Duke of Kilam. The Duke was a more benevolent man than most of his rank. He paid fairly and had made attempts to keep the working environments safe (to no avail) but Kilam was still a poor community, most families living on no more than a a few coins a week. again, the princesses voice called him back from his thoughts. "Varick, milady." She must not have been fully present when he met her parents for he had been announced then. Princess Caroline's eyes seemed always far away, gazing into far off lands. Perhaps that was why they carried such weight. When she looked at you, she became present, all those miles of reach landing upon your shoulders. 'It was strange to be asked instead of ordered. Varick remarked inwardly, passing the princess the bag. The clothes would be loose-fitting, he had made sure of that. The princess has healthy curves, a sign of being well fed that would give her away. The people of Kilam would be thin, hollowed cheek bones and exposed ribs. ◀ ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ±

Caroline Grace I only wanna die alive (◡_◡) (◕-◕) (◕o◕) (∩_∩)
Caroline kept her eyes out looking at the moving trees. "Do you have a family Varick?" She asked him wondering if her did. She wanted to get to know him since they will be around each other consistently. "Most people who take this job usually have someone they need to take care of. But since my father has found out about people just doing it for the high pay amount and not having and skills in protecting, thats why he is so tough on the new comers that want to be a guard." She said as she kept her attention off i the distance. She didn't really understand why she wanted to know these things about him, but she just speaks before she actually really thinks about what she was saying.
Before she knew it, she felt the carriage come to a stop and she looked out to see the run down area on the outskirts. Before, she had never realized how run down the outskirts were. Maybe after being a regular person and walking around like them, she will know how bad it actually is. She knew that the people out here weren't really rich and they had to live pay to pay. She would never understand what that felt like because of the life she was born into. Maybe when her parents pass the title down to her, she can do something and try and help the people out here. As long as she could remember, her parents didn't really send much supplies out here to help the people that lived there. Caroline turned her attention to the carriage door and she got out when a guard from outside opened it. She stepped out and her feet softly hit the ground and she looked around. She was happy that barely anyone was there. The royal family made it so that no one would know where the carriage stops to let her out. Turning around, she waited patiently for Varick to get out so that they could be on their way. She looked down at the bag she was holding and remembered that it had the clothes in it.
When he had got out, they took their leave towards where the giving would take place. She had been to this place before and knew that there was a place for her to change without being spotted. "Okay, I am going to go over there and the people will be over there in that open space." She said as she pointed over to where she was going to change to where the people were. Right now no one would be able to see her. "I will go stand by the entry way when I am done." She said as she started to walk over to the place she was going to change. When she reached it, she went behind the wall and made sure no one was coming. She took the clothes out of the bag and sat the bag down on the ground. She grabbed the tan frock and then pulled her dress of over her head. When it was off, she pulled the frock on over her head. Pulling it down a little, she made sure it was placed right. After that, she removed her shoes and then pushed her feet into the worn shoes. She reached down and grabbed her dress from the castle and pushed it into the bag and pushed her shoes in the bag as well. When that was set, she threw the cloak on and placed the veil on her head so that no one would notice her. When she was all set, she grabbed the bag and walked over to where she told Varick she would be standing and waiting for him.

☩Ѵarick Шarren ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± ▶The royal lady gave no hint of dislike to the title 'milady.' Perhaps they had come to a compromise. The use of her real name felt to personal, as though he were dishonoring her, but if Your Highness was displeasing that wouldn't do either. Varick tensed when she asked about his family. To explain it all would be quite the task. There were too many secrets there he would rather not share, so he kept it simple. "Yes, milady. My mother lives in Gyntaurn. I have a half-brother also, though I do not know him well." He was glad she seemed to know little about him. His reputation was not always kind to his name. Many truths had been twisted beyond recognition. Varick had not always been honorable in his past. The carriage stopped at the edge of Kilam. Varick climbed out after her, surveying the area. He listened to her directions then nodded and departed to complete his task. A group of people waited around the inn, bearing gifts in all varieties. There were women holding blankets, children with eggs, men with tools. A The people here did not have much to give but that did not alter their generosity. A man stood towards the front, keeping an eye on the crowd. Based upon his dress, Varick assumed he was the mine's foreman. Varick approached him. "Sir, do you speak for these people?" The foreman eyed Varick warily. "I do." "I'm carrying a message for the Royal Family to the people of Kilam." This caught the man's attention. "Out with it then, boy." "Princess Caroline asks the peoples' forgiveness at her absence. The princess is unwell and regrets she cannot travel beyond the castle." Varick said. The man, instead of being angry, seemed concerned. "The princess is unwell? Is it grave?" Varick shook his head. "No. The doctor has been with her for hours. Her fever broken long ago and she is just recovering her strength." The man nodded, eyebrows furrowed. "My thanks, young man." Varick nodded and disappeared while the foreman relayed the message to the people. Princess Caroline, identifiable only because he recognized the clothing, was waiting for him. The disguise was good, but something felt off. "You are well hidden." He admired with a small smile. "But your hands give you away. They are too clean." He collected a handful of dirt and offered it to her. "You might dirty your face as well." Once the disguise was complete, the pair began walking towards the heart of town. "Before we begin your day free of responsibility, I hope you might allow me a favor. I have a brief errand to run but cannot allow you out of my sight." Considering he was helping her directly disobey her father, he hoped she might allow him to quickly post the letter to his mother.◀ ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ±

Caroline Grace I only wanna die alive (◡_◡) (◕-◕) (◕o◕) (∩_∩)
Caroline waited by the wall. She was relieved to hear that nothing of an uproar happened of her presence not being there. She will be back later to accept what they wanted to give her. As she stood there, she watched as Varick walked back towards her. When he said her hands give her away, she quickly sat down the bag and took the dirt that he had in his hand. She rubbed her hands together as she watched the dirt slide through her fingers. When the dirt that didn't stick to her hands was gone, she reached her hands up and ran them across her face to make sure that she wasn't too clean looking. She thanked him for the advice and then reached down to grab the bag again. Standing straight up, she reached her arm out to give him the bag back. She didn't know if he wanted it back or not.
When he had taken the bag, she started to walk through the town. As she was walking, she looked around and she felt sadden to see just how bad the buildings were. She was lost in thought of the run down town when she heard his voice. She quickly looked over to him and listened to what he said. "Yes we can." She nodded her head as she followed him to where he wanted to go. "How could my parents allow this?" She mumbled to herself, but it was loud enough for him to hear. "How can they live the life they do and not help fix the way their land is?" She turned her attention back to the people walking through the streets. She saw little kids running around the streets with no parents as well as people that look to barely get enough food to eat. She didn't understand how the people of Kilam could give away their stuff when they can barely live. While she was thinking that, her thoughts drifted back to what he had said about his family. "How is your mothers living condition? If you don't mind me asking." She turned to look at him. "We have just gotten here and I feel like I owe the people of the kingdom a lot." She said. She could feel the slight pressure of guilt wash over her body. She felt her shoulder slouch as she walked from the feeling.

☩Ѵarick Шarren ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± ▶With her hair hidden under the cloak and face dirty, she hardly looked like the same woman. She could easily have been a citizen of Kilam. As the pair made their way through the dirty streets, Varick watched the princess's eyebrows furrow. When she agreed to his request, he began leading her towards the local tavern. There he should be able to pay someone to take his letter. Varick looked at the buildings and people as they passed. Kilam, while poor, was not the worst of the kingdom's towns. "You're father must walk a careful line. Take too much from the nobility and there will be no one to lead an army, design buildings, manage the people. Leave to little for the poor and there shall be no one to man those armies, build the designs." A group of children ran past them, giggling and laughing. Varick smiled to himself. The greatest resource of people is hope. Despite the squalor, children still laughed, people smiled and were grateful. Again, Varick was reluctant to say much. "I do the best I can for her. In time, I hope to bring her closer to King's lands." He could have provided her with more were it not for the debts he owed, something he deeply loathed. Though it was early, the Whistling Hill tavern was awake. As the main thoroughfare for travelers, many had brought their wares toe the square the tavern sat on. "Stick close to me." He whispered. Varick moved through the crowd, asking those with horses or carts where they were going. At last he found an elder couple heading towards Gyntaurn with a delivery of wheat. Varick handed them the letter and a coin for their trouble. "Seek out Peronell Waren. She lives above the tannery." The couple nodded and were off. Varick turned his attention back to the princess. "What should you like to see? We have an entire day's time."◀ ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ±

Caroline Grace I only wanna die alive (◡_◡) (◕-◕) (◕o◕) (∩_∩)
Caroline looked over at Varick as he answered the question that she had asked herself. She knew her father didn't do much now that she had seen it with her own eyes. "My father likes to show off his money, but he won't even go out and see what and who needs the money more then us. When the title is passed down to me, I plan on helping the people out here. I feel like they don't get any help." She said as she saw some more older people sitting on the side of the street. Caroline looked over at Varick when he said he does his best for her. She looked closely at him and could tell how hard he has had to carry himself. He had rugged skin and dark circles under his eyes. How he carried himself showed her that he had a lot to carry.
As they came up to the center of the town, she heard him tell her to stick close. She nodded her head and moved closer to him. Before she knew what she was doing, she moved so close to him that she was touching him. She didn't notice, but she knew that she needed to be closer to him just in case something happened. She didn't understand how she had such a draw towards him. It was kind of making her nervous. The whole situation with him was confusing. She watched Varick as he asked many different people if they were going to Gyntaurn. She furrowed her eyebrows because she didn't know why he would need to find someone that was going there. She stopped walking when he did and she watched as he finally found someone that was going there. When he talked to the older couple, she turned her attention away. She didn't want to getting into what he was saying to them. Soon she saw him walking away and she followed him. This time, she was further away from his person, but was close enough that he could save her if something happened out of no where. Hearing his question, she stopped walking and thought of what she wanted to do. She never thought too far into what she wanted to do because she thought she would never get to do this. Then a thought came to her. She remembered that she had brought money. "How far away is your mother from here?" She asked. She was thinking that if he did his best for her, she could give his mother the money she had brought. She brought quite a bit of money. "I know you have just been hired and we don't know each other really and you seen to have a lot to take care of, I want to give your mother something." She told him honestly.

☩Ѵarick Шarren ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± ▶As they walked out of the bustling crowds, Varick kept Princess Caroline close. Just as with nobility, there came risks to being a commoner. Thieves, con men, mercenaries, and more. In a crowd, danger could come from any direction. He would be glad to leave the people behind. When they were on the edge of the square, the princess stopped and looked at him. This woman was truly full of surprises. "My mother lives in Gyntaurn. It is on the very eastern edge of the kingdom. From Kilam, it is a 14 hour ride by cart. With a horse, one might make the journey in 11." Varick was acutely aware of the distance that separated him from his ailing mother. As a child, he was hardly apart from her. She took him along when she worked at her various odd jobs; cooking at the tavern on busy nights, sewing clothing on weekends, laundry at the Count's home, and more. Peonell did whatever it took to put food on the table for her son. Unfortunately, all the work had weakened her, leaving her open for illness. Since working in the basement of the Count's home as a laundress, she had developed a nasty cough. The doctor recommended rest, but Peonell couldn't afford a day off. So she worked and the cough worsened, bringing with it headaches, muscle fatigue, and worse. Now it was a good day when she could leave bed. "It is too far a trip to make in today's time, I fear. To travel there and back would take the better part of two days." What on earth could the princess possibly want to give a woman she had never met? "Perhaps there is something closer that might interest you?"◀ ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ±

Caroline Grace I only wanna die alive (◡_◡) (◕-◕) (◕o◕) (∩_∩)
Caroline listened to what he was saying about how far away his mother was. She looked down at the ground to figure out what she wanted to do. Maybe she could give the coins to Varick and he would take it to his mother. Maybe she could give him some of the money that she gets on a weekly basis from her parents. She hardly used it, so it was just sitting there unused. "Since we would not be able to go to see your mother today, I can give it to you. Like I said before, we do not know each other, but I feel like I need to do this. I feel guilty for everything that my parents do and I feel that you are trying to help your mother." She said as she took the money out from the dress she was wearing. Earlier she had found a place to hide her coins. When her hands had felt that nothing was left in her hiding spot, she reached her hand out and opened it so he could see it. "I wanted to give your mother this, but you can give it to her. I get money from my parents every week and I do not use it. I feel like your mother will get more use out of it and there is going to be more where that came from. Do not say you can not take it. I want to give my part back to the people of the kingdom." She told him as she smiled. She hoped that he would take it. "Do not worry, it is my gift for you helping me come out and be a normal person today. You are also protecting me. Also my parents will not find out about me giving you some coins." She smiled at him. She felt the guilt from earlier roll off of her body and was replaced with a pride she had never felt before.
"Maybe you could show me what its like to be a commoner. You seem to know what it is like. Do not take that as an offense. You could show me what people our age would do to have fun." She said excitedly. Now that she had thought of that, she was excited now to have a fun day. She has not actually been truly happy for a while. Today, it would be like she was the most normal person in the world. "I kinda want tot get to know you more. I don't know why, but I feel a draw to want to hear about your life." She said as she quickly looked away from him and felt her cheeks heat up. It was a foreign feeling and it felt like her cheeks were on fire. She was embarrassed by herself for saying that to him without actually thinking it through.

☩Ѵarick Шarren ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± ▶Varick was astounded by the amount of gold in the bag the princess offered him. It could pay off his debts or put him halfway towards bringing his mother closer to him. The very possibilities of that much money were dazzling but he knew in his gut he could not possibly accept it. There were numerous reasons to reject the money; putting himself in the debt of his charge was dangerous, her father would fire him (or worse) if he learned he was taking money for the princess, but most of all Varick's pride stood in the way. He had fought hard to achieve all he had. It was not much, but it was entirely his. His first reaction was anger. How could she think to dishonor him in this way? But he quelled the fire before he spoke. It was clear the princess's intentions were pure. 'Milady, I cannot accept your gift.' He began, "I cannot expect you to under the value of obtaining what you have earned but it is of great importance to me. Your gift would be better served on a more grateful recipient." When they began walking again, Varick attempted to prevent the commoner comment from stinging. The princess was not careful with words. But then, why should she be? As nobility of her status, who would censure her? He couldn't quite decide what the princess might enjoy. "Ladies of your age spend their time with sewing, learning to bake, poetry and reading if they can afford books. Men my age work. There are some sports and of course, the courting of young women." He gave her a curious look. "My life, you will find, is a similar song with different words. I have been lucky with work and luckier still in learning my father was of some rank." Up ahead, music could be heard. People clapped along to the lute and lyre as filled the square. A small smile pulled at the corner on his mouth. "What timing.A favorite diversion of the young and old." When the reached the square, they could see it was ringed with smiling people. In the center pairs danced to the upbeat music. The couple spun and twirled around to last years popular dance. The people who couldn't or simply weren't dancing laughed and shouted with joy. Varick moved with the princess to the inner edge of the crowd and watched the dancers. ◀ ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ±

Caroline Grace I only wanna die alive (◡_◡) (◕-◕) (◕o◕) (∩_∩)
Caroline kept her hand out when he said that he couldn't take it. She sighed and then pulled her hand back. She placed the coins back into the bag and they started to walk again. She really did want him to take it. She would think of a way to get it to his mother. Maybe she could some how find someone that was going that way and could stop by and find her and give her the money. She would never know who it came from and she would be thankful. She knew the pay of what guards got and sure it was above what a blacksmith would make, it was still a small amount of money. She wanted to do good and give back to those who needed the money. She listened to what he said ladies her age would do. She didn't know how to do any of that. She knew how to read because her parents had someone teach her, but she didn't know how to sew, or bake. She didn't really understand what he had sad when he talked about his life. She found that he was a closed book and was hard to figure out. She on the other hand is probably an easier person to figure out.
Up a head she heard music and laughter. The two of them walked further up to the scene and stopped. She noticed everyone dancing and it made her smile. It wasn't the normal type of dancing that she saw at the parties her parents threw. It was more relaxing music that you could dance to and just have fun. She stopped walking when Varick did and her eyes drew towards the couple that were dancing in the circle of the square. She had a huge smile pasted on her lips and was getting the feeling to dance. That shocked her because she always used to hate dancing. Her parents would make her dance with eligible princesses, but if she danced today she wouldn't have to dance with anyone her parents wanted her to marry. Caroline watched as a few children went out and started goofing around to the music. It was amazing to see the people on the town, even though they were worrying about where their next meal was coming from, they were still having a great time. Caroline watched the kids and then she found herself pushing herself through the crowd. She made it to the inside of the crowd and she walked over to the children. She started to dance with them and laugh with the children. She was having a great time.

☩Ѵarick Шarren ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± ▶As interested as it was to watch the dancers, it was more so to watch Princess Caroline. Her eyes lit up as she watched the twirling dancers. It was probably a very different sort of festivity than the ones she was used to. Suddenly, she moved from the sidelines and into the throng of dancers, taking up the hands of children. The children laughed in delight, taking up new enthusiasm. More children joined and the group grew. One of the young men on the side, with long black hair and covered in dirt and shoot, moved to the princess and asked her to dance. The children booed their dislike, wanting to keep the woman all to themselves. Varick was apprehensive. All of the risks jumped into his head. For a commoner, touching nobility was a risk. At best, you were fined and at worst you were killed. There was also the dangerous possibility that this young man could be more than he seemed. Then there was the problem of the maiden's veil. The maiden's veil had been a good choice for covering her nose and mouth, but it had a side-effect. Women wore a maiden's veil when they were of age to marry and unspoken for. Only married women and those to young to marry were allowed in public without their faces covered.◀ ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ± : . : ±

Caroline Grace I only wanna die alive (◡_◡) (◕-◕) (◕o◕) (∩_∩)
Caroline loved the feeling she got from dancing with the children. She loved hearing the laughter and sounds coming from them. They sounded like they were having the time of their lives and she knew she was having the time of her life. She was happy that she had gotten away for today. She would never of gotten this chance if it wasn't for Varick. She had to thank him. The longer that she had danced with the children, the more she noticed to come and dance alone with them. The group grew so big, that she outdent even count how many children she was dancing with. When she was about to pick up a little boy, she felt someone pull her away and ask for a dance. She graciously accepted and started to dance with the guy. She noticed that he was around her age. The longer they danced she could feel herself getting more comfortable with this type of dancing. All of a sudden the guy she was dancing with, asked if she was there alone. She shook her head no and then pointed over to Varick. She had told the man she was there with him. The guessed thanks for the dance and then left. Caroline looked at him and wondered why he had asked if she was there alone. She didn't know much about the common life outside of the castle.
Walking back over to where Varick was standing, she couldn't help the smile that was still brightening up her face. "Can we explore some more?" She asked him. "Since you will not take my gift, I want to find something that I can use it on and give it to someone that is having a hard time in their day to day life." She told him. She still wanted to give back and was waiting to find that person that was right to give the money to. She was still going to figure out how to get the money to Varick's mother, but she still had more money to give to someone else to help them. "Maybe we can find a book store or a bakery. You said ladies like doing that. That must mean that they have some good food around here." She told him. She didn't know much about the things to do. "Oh, I know something that I have always wanted to try. These women come to the castle with vases that they have made. I want to try that if we can find a place that makes them. I have always found that interesting and thought that I might be good at it. I don't know how crafty I am." She murmured and looked down away from him. She looked around the town square to see if she could find any of the places that she had mentioned to him. "What do you do on your time off?" She wondered as she looked back up to him.
