Feeling a tingling on the back of her neck, Kari dove out of the way just as the lightning touched down. Not bothering to let herself stop, she rolled right back onto her feet and kept running.
"Ooooh, Keep going Kari!" her boil companion cheered, impressed with the maneuver. She couldn't help but smile. Even if he was a bit bombastic, he still made a pretty good fearleader.

A hiss escaped Kari's lips as another strike landed too close for comfort.
"So close...," she murmured, straining her muscles to their limits while trying not to let Steve's cheers distract her.

"One way... or another," Kari gasped, taking her place at the starting line one more. If a first year could do it, she could too.
Getting a bad feeling, Kari switched directions just in time to avoid a strike. So far, so good.

"Gooooooooo!," Steve shouted from his seat on the finish line. Kari didn't need the reminder, even as a bolt just missed her by inches. The heat made her cringe, but she didn't stop.

It seemed the reaper was starting to get a feel for where the lightning would come down. She was able to feel just before each hit would land and the general area. It didn't help that Steve was losing his mind shouting things Kari already knew she needed to do.
Keep it up... just keep moving and don't lose focus. Just keep running...

"Now," breathed the ghoul as she dodged another lightning bolt.
"Woooo, go Kari!" Steve was having the time of his life.

Making a leap for the finish line, Kari was able to roll into a kneeling position just past where the wyvern boil had been jumping around.
"That's... game," Kari sighed, planting herself down on the ground.
"Awesome! Let's go for the next one!" Kari paled. If she knew the boil, he would probably pick something high energy and exciting again.
"You go on... I want to take a breather," the reaper gave the boil a pleading look. She really wanted to take a break before attempting another task. She wasn't used to things being this hectic in such a small space of time.
"See ya later, then!," he smiled as he made his way to the door. The reaper gave a nod and smile in reply.
Thankfully, Steve's impatience was working in Kari's favor. Rather than drag her off, he was leaving on his own, leaving Kari to her much needed break.
And boy, did she need it.
