Avenged Sevenfold is based on the story in Genesis (yeah you said this above, I'm adding details) of when Cain murdered his brother Abel and God said, "Vengeance shall be reaped upon him sevenfold" or something along those lines...
These are odd facts...
actually cain murdered abel and was cast out but he begged god to protect him from others who would kill him so god placed a mark on his forehead and said "whosoever harms you, vengeance shall be reaped on him sevenfold."
Ahh thanks. I haven't read the story in a while, so I just went on the little bit that I remembered.
