Oh, good, he wasn't going to press about it - that was good. He'd answer if pressed, but he didn't particularly want to admit the particulars unless asked to do so... "Not really, no," he admitted with a small sigh. "She's good at finding out other people's secrets and just as good at keeping her own, unfortunately."

"I guessed so," Taavi said with a heavy sigh, it had been worth a try he supposed.

For some time Taavi sat in silence, maybe it was only a few moments or maybe it was minutes he wasn't sure. However long it had been he was pulled out of a pit of silent gloom by a tapping on the window; it was Valour, and he'd brought dinner. Taavi pushed himself to his feet and striding across the apartment to open the window and accept one of a pair of dead Pidgey from his friend's claws. He regretted leaning out to give the Braviary a kiss on the beak, it was covered in egg yolk. Taavi made a vague noise of disgust and wiped his mouth on his sleeve before giving Valour a scratch and closing the window again as the bird turned to take off and find a comfortable roost.

"Right." Taavi turned to Abel, smiling a brittle smile that didn't reach his eyes and holding up the bird. "There's nothing we can do about any of... well anything right now but we've got some meat to go with our noodles for the next few days." Were he and Abel still friends? Could they be? He didn't know right now but he wanted to share the Pidgey Valour had brought for him and that was something right?

The silence dragged on for a while; Abel was content to let it stretch on even longer, but Valour's tapping ended it. While he'd always only procured meat from stores, that cost money, and he found himself feeling glad that Taavi had a pokemon that could procure it for free. "That's good," he said, trying and largely failing to be positive. He was glad they had more food - he was - but unlike Taavi, he'd been sitting under the crushing weight of guilt and misery for too long to really find it in himself to smile anymore.
