When the sun had decided to grace the small town with it's light Jay was laying in the sand on the beach that was no more than a block from her house. The wild woman had her heels beside her and her hair fanning the yellow sand in a dark halo. Thankfully she hadn't passed out on the beach, but she was close to it. The previous night's party was exciting for a Thursday night, and she needed a moment to recoup before returning home. This was her last summer, before everything would change. She and her sister would go off to college and who knew if they'd even stay in touch or return to this sleepy town. Maybe they'd come back the first few years but how long until they went years without seeing each other? How long until their youngest sister looked like a stranger to them? How long until the entire town forgot her, the wild brawler? When the sun pierced her little world she let out an unladylike growl. "Fine. I'll head home." Jay stood with some form of grace before gathering her black heels and small handbag.

That's how she walked home, black cocktail dress heels and bag in hand, hair a wild mess, and covered in sand. How else would she return home? With practiced grace she slunk back into her home, careful to not wake her family. Jay made quick work to gather some suitable clothes, a tank top and some sweat pants, before heading into the shower to rid her beach and party evidence. Once suitably clean she easily sneaked back into her room, which she shared with Niamh. "Night Nini." Jay whispered into the quiet room resorting to the childhood nickname she had bestowed on her sister. Without too much care the eldest Erikson daughter curled up in her bed, to await for a more suitable hour rather than 6am.

xxxBy 4 A.M., Timothy wakes up without so much as a groan of discontent, puts on gym clothes, consumes a protein shake for breakfast, and arrives to the gym by 5 A.M. on the dot. Monday through Friday involves a rotation schedule he knows better than the back of his hand while the weekends are all out full body workout days for his freestyle pleasure. After forty-five minutes of working out, Tim jogs from the gym to a close, small beachfront, when he watches the sun rise anywhere from 6 A.M. to 7 A.M. depending on the time of the year. While on the beach, his headphones play a chapter from whichever textbook he is pre-reading in anticipation for his return to school while he picks up litter and scavenges for seashells and sand dollars to add to his ever-expansive collection. At 8 A.M., Tim returns home to shower and decently get ready for his Monday through Friday work day or Saturday through Sunday party day. Today, however, was a work day--the last work day of the week to be exact, and for that, Tim went with a casual Friday look. He placed his locks in a ponytail, dressing in a seasonal salmon elbow-length button up, breezy black pants, turquoise suspenders, and a black fedora with a similar turquoise ribbon designed across it. With a brief look in the mirror for final touch-ups, Tim leaves the house by 8:45 and arrives to work at the Conservation Oceanside Research Active Laboratory (CORAL for short) at exactly 9 A.M. Tim's philosophy of "a productive morning leads to a productive day" has yet to fail him.

"Good morning, sir," He spoke formally to the security guard, an older gentleman known simply as Dan by others in the building. Dan gave a quiet nod to the awfully chipper and active Tim, unlocking the door and allowing him inside. Once inside the blue tinted building, Tim places his fedora and an unnecessary blazer coat he keeps with him at all times on the employee coat hanger and gets to work. In such a relaxing work environment--and particularly on a Friday, most of Tim's coworkers don't arrive until 9:30, but being the overachiever he was, Tim had to constantly be on the ball. His current position was Manager of Social Platforms and Public Announcements, making him directly responsible for a locally popular Twitter account, among other things. He sets up Facebook livestreams of ocean cameras, posts photosets of animals the laboratory saves from polluted environments or beaching incidents, and makes PSAs both digitally or physically for whenever a suspected flood is underway. It was a lot of responsibility, and yet being the youngest in the lab, it was a perfect job for him all while looking good on a resume. His current project involved making a shark PSA, warning people of local shark activity while also stressing the fact that sharks are not inherently evil beings from the depths of some dark ocean abyss seeking human blood. It was a difficult project, one that is often not discussed enough in their small town, leading to over twenty shark deaths and two human injuries each year, a large number for their small area. What was supposed to be a small system update became Tim's passion project, to the point where he is entrusting his best friend for help.

Maxwell Thompson had been Timothy Cousteau's best friend for as long as he could remember. Both grew up as such high energy boys that even all four of their parents together couldn't catch up with their antics. While they have obviously butted heads, Tim would trust no one with his life more than he did Max. This was why Tim is currently trusting Max to host a huge party tonight, to first of all kick off the summer, and to spread out his shark PSA. Tim darted at the time on his computer screen. It was currently 9:10 A.M. Unsure of last night's moon, he decided to send a text to Max in hopes he woke up early to catch the last few high tides. "Hey man, need anything for the party tonight?" With a quick tap, the message was sent. Now all he had to do was wait and hope a response came soon.
                                                                xxx

                                                                ─────────────── ───────────────

      Maxwell "Max" Thompson

      A hero always get remembered...

[Max is not really the type of person to rouse before at least 8am, due to that he'd rarely ever made it to first period in high school. Thankfully his good buddy Tim would help bail him out of that particular issues on more than one occasion. Lazily around 9am he fell out of bed and made his way to the kitchen for life blood...aka coffee. Max looked through his phone, a few pictures from the party he had attended last night he paused on a particular picture of Jay dancing he couldn't help but chuckle. Even though she was younger than him that was never something that stopped the girl from partying just as hard. The party last night was fun, but his were renowned around town as the best, and the party he had planned for tonight would be no exception. He'd been glad to see Tim request his assistance on this, and Max was more than ready to raise to the challenge.

The blonde looked over Tim's text and mentally ran a check list, wondering if anything would be needed. 'I got pretty much everything covered. Just make sure you're here around 6pm, gunna need some help setting up.' With that Max turned to some toast and stumbled over to his laptop in the living room, there he began working on the article for the event tonight. The young man knew he'd pretty much invited everyone in town and the local paper would need to cover the event of course. Not only the start of summer but a PSA on sharks by CORAL sealed the deal, an article needed to be done. And why not let it be written by someone in the center of everything? Max was thankful that he had the beach house to host the party. It was right on the beach, with a large pool a deck and it was big enough to house some guests inside.

Parties were not Niamh’s favourite events. If she were honest, she could do without them entirely. Her preferences included cookies, her bed, and either a book (preferably a romantic novel, nothing too dull or scary) or one of her favourite TV shows to pass the time. Vicariously living through the lives of fictional characters, where everything always works out alright, to avoid having to deal with her own issues. Relaxing instead of frantically worrying about how she was going to get home, or what she was going to wear or whether her eyeliner was running. Thus, when she received the invitation, she politely declined in the full understanding that her sister would have enough fun for the both of them. She couldn’t avoid parties forever nonetheless and made a non-verbal (non-committal) promise to herself that she would attend the next party she was invited to. However much she despised them.

Her evening had consisted of binge watching four episodes of ‘Orange is the New Black’ before calling it a night at around ten o’clock and hitting the hay. Niamh slept like a log usually, though in the past few months she couldn’t avoid the terrible nightmares that frequented her each night. She often awoke in a sweat several times in a night, though she hadn’t mentioned this to anybody- believing that over time they would just go away. That night, she woke twice. The first she didn’t even bother to check the time. Her heart was racing, and she needed to calm down. Niamh sat up to get her baring’s, spending a few moments trying to recall what she had been dreaming about. As per usual she came up empty, and with an absence of something to be scared of she lay back down and tried to get back to sleep.

The second time Niamh woke up that night, she immediately checked the time on her phone which lay on her white bedside table. The time read 4:44 am. The brunette groaned, getting back into the covers and placing her head firmly down on the pillow. This time however, she could not get to sleep. The sound of her own breathing was too loud, and she was varying between being too hot, and too cold. She had recently been wondering if anything was wrong with her. It wasn’t normal to be incapable of sleep in this manner. In a feat of defiance, Niamh merely decided that that morning she wouldn’t go back to sleep. She got up slowly, and retrieved her book (which she was beginning to thing was a little dark, for her) that she had left lying on the back of the toilet that afternoon before returning back to her bed where she propped the pillows up against the wall. Deciding that she was in fact too hot, she opened the window which was beside her sister’s empty bed and removed her PJ bottoms so that she was just in her pants and vest. It was then that she returned to her now cool bed, where she slid in and wriggled around until she was comfortable, resting her head on the pillows behind her.

Looking down at her legs, Niamh ran her fingers across the red markings that sat in a strangely symmetrical order on her upper right thigh. They’d only been there for a few days, and Niamh wondered if she was having an allergic reaction to something. Perhaps the reason she wasn’t sleeping? She shrugged, it was probably just eczema or something. With an audible sigh she tuned out her own thoughts, turning to the page in her book that her embroidered book mark sat- because any human who bent over pages in books was truly a heinous criminal.

It was around an hour later, at 6am when she heard the door open and close discreetly down the stairs. Niamh raised an eyebrow, as when she glanced out of the window it was the morning. This was another thing to add to her list of ‘reasons why Niamh hated parties’ sleep was just too precious- not that she had got any anyway. Jay came into the room, looking a slight mess, but failed to notice Niamh was awake. She slunk out- just as stealthy as she had arrived- and went into, presumably, the bathroom. After a few pages of Niamh’s book, Jay walked in, having had a brisk shower so that she didn’t smell of beer probably. “Night, Nini,”Jay spoke softly, probably not expecting her to be awake. Niamh turned the page loudly, looking up to glance at her sister. “Good Morning,” She responded with a brief chuckle, placing emphasis on the word 'morning'. Niamh had, as she always did, worried over whether Jay would get home save, but alas she always did. Their town was pretty safe in comparison to others.

“How was it?” She asked, holding her page with her thumb. Niamh was always curious as to what Jay did when she wasn’t there- which was pretty rare. If the two didn’t look as different as chalk and cheese you would merely assume they were twins. It wouldn’t be long before they both would be going to separate colleges, and Niamh had assured herself that she wouldn’t cry. She could only hope that they wouldn’t grow apart, and considering how close they were it was unlikely that they would grow apart. Unlikely but possible. Niamh shook her head, dismissing those thoughts. She bit her lip and smirked at her sister, glancing at her in a knowing manner. “Was he there, that guy you like,” she made a face of mock shock towards her sister. Niamh was also over involved in her sisters life, perhaps to an extent that was invasive. But hey, they shared a room, neither one did something that the other didn’t know about.

Anthony had decided to go to a party on a Thursday night. He figured "why not it's summer vacation." Although Tony wasn't a typical party person he headed out around midnight. When he got home, Tony headed to the bathroom for a quick shower and headed to sleep. When he woke up the next day at around 10a.m., he changed into some board shorts, grabbed his surf board and headed to the beach. Once at the beach, Tony went out to sea and just sat on his board waiting for the waves to get big enough to ride.

As the waves rose, Tony head out farther to sea to ride them. After a few hours, he got out of the water and had a seat on the warm sand, his board next to him, watching the sea. Once Tony started getting hungry, he headed home for a late lunch and went to his room to eat and watch Netflix on his computer.

The eldest Erikson was trying to convience her brain to slow down long enough to actually sleep when the sweet voice of her sister pierced the early morning. With an exaggerated sigh the girl rolled to look pointedly at her sister. "Yes good morning Miss. Nini." She rolled her eyes but smirked at their little banter. Jay thought back to the party as she folded her pillow to elevate her head. Was it good? For a long moment she mused over things and shrugged. "Nothing to write home about. Now Max's parties those are something." He mind flew back to the last party it had lasted two days in fact.

Jay shook her head at her sisters question."Don't like him any more. Can you believe he thought I was too wild?" She chuckled and leaned over to look at her phone noting the date the exuberant girl smirked. "You know...it's summer and you haven't been to any parties with me." Jay began with a teasing tone in her voice "But that's all about to change, tonight is a Max party. And you are going. No questions. Now what are you reading?" This was their usual dance, Jay would try and pull her sister out into the more wild side of their town, and Niamh would push Jay back into line as needed. Sure many people knew how Jay partied, but she was more intense about it this year. With both sisters going to different colleges at the end of summer, a foolish wish to make this summer never end was firmly present in her mind.

Niamh was often concerned about her sister, though she always proved to be able to get herself home in such a way that her parents weren’t awoken by her arrival. Though, she doubted her parents would be too bothered. They were very liberal, and accepted the notion that now the girls were eighteen they could do pretty much what they liked- as long as it wasn’t drugs, excessive alcohol or marriage perhaps. And they were three things Niamh wasn’t planning on doing anytime soon. The brunette was almost sure that Jay was simply going to crash out and ignore her, though she doubted she had even realised she was awake. She would understand however, she had been gone for about twelve hours, and knew that ‘sleep’ wasn’t a word usually associated with parties. It wasn’t associated with Niamh either currently as it continued to evade her. After a few silent moments however, Jay responded with an equally sarcastic wish of a pleasant morning. “You shouldn’t stay out so late you moron, you don’t know who’s out there,” She sighed, putting her hand between the pages in her book to hold her place. At the mention of Max, Niamh’s brow furrowed slightly trying to remember the last party Jay had attended, her mind wandering to the distinct mental image of the blonde haired male. A young adult who particularly enjoyed the planning and execution of a party. He was a year older than both Jay and herself and the two had never been particularly close. They seemed as different as chalk and cheese. Thinking back to the party, Niamh chuckled softly. If she recalled correctly, Jay hadn’t returned home for at least forty-eight hours and had been a complete mess by the end. Apparently, that meant that the party was… something? “Don’t worry, I believe you,” She affirmed in a high pitched tone, a smirk setting on her pale face. Niamh did not understand the allure of a teenage party, packed with hormone and brimming testosterone as boys fell on the verge of being men and the girls decided that the more boobs were visible- the better. Perhaps she was too mature for her age, maybe she should indulge in parties more often. If she gave it a chance she might enjoy herself.

Niamh laughed aloud at her sister’s statement. “I don’t believe it! You? Wild! Never,” She proclaimed in an overly dramatic manner. Extravagant would be more the word Niamh would use to describe her sister. “Then he’s too square for you,” Niamh agreed, with a distinct nod of her head to confirm. Niamh herself hadn’t particularly shown any interest in anyone before in her life. She’d had a “boyfriend” in 7th grade, but did that really count? Niamh opened her book once more, expecting her sister to nod off at any second, but alas she was not asleep. Niamh glanced up quickly with wide eyes as her sister mentioned another party. Tonight. And apparently, Niamh was to be made to go. “You can’t force me to go, that’s a... violation of my human rights!” She retorted with a chuckle. “I’ll think about it,” Niamh assured her sister that she would, though she did before every party. Though this time was different. Why shouldn’t she go? If she didn’t enjoy it she could always come home, and it wouldn’t hurt to have some fun once in a while. Niamh turned over the front of her book to glance at the cover when her sister asked for the title. “It’s not written by E.L James or Stephenie Meyer so I doubt you will have heard of it,” Niamh loved teasing her sister, and whether or not she recognised those authors, Niamh could still amuse herself. “Before I go to sleep, by S.J Watson, its about a woman who loses all her memory in an accident and has to figure out who she is by reading a journal she keeps hidden from her husband. She wakes up thinking she’s twenty every day, but when she looks in the mirror she’s middle aged- it’s good, a little dark though. I’m expecting a MAJOR plot twist soon, I’m nearly at the end. If you've seen the film, spoil it for me and you will die a slow and painful death” Niamh’s eyes widened with a spark as she spoke about what she was reading. Sometimes she grew way too attached to her books and cried when they finished- which was a habit she hoped to curb. She had already cried twice with her present read, and it could only get worse from here. Truth be told, she was only reading it because she wanted to watch the film, and she NEVER watched the film before she read the book! Niamh’s mind turned back to the party that would occur that evening. “Is it at Max’s house?” She paused, looking up. Sh assumed it would be, where else? “The party,” Something told Niamh she should go, it would pass one of the days that seemed to drag on endlessly when one had nothing to do. Niamh spent days conflicted over whether she wanted time to quicken so something would happen, or time to slow so she could spend more time with her family.

xxxWhile awaiting a text, several of Tim's coworkers sluggishly towed inside the building one after the other. They all gave him a small wave before going to their own desks and completing their own morning rituals. John, the eldest of the desk employees, spends most of his morning reading the newspaper. He will often remark on small town happenings and ignore the big picture national media, knowing fully well his more conservative views would not be kindly met with in a small, liberal coastal town. He did, however, often remark on Max's articles whenever they showed up. Most of his remarks were positive, while some just left him with a singular raised grey eyebrow. After John was usually Patricia, a middle-aged mom whose son was on the Chess team with Tim. She is very much a soccer mom personality, and she often attempts to invite Tim over for family events.. He accepts during the weekdays, but weekends are strictly limited to free time to socialize in larger groups. "Work hard, party harder" is yet another mantra for Timothy that he feels has yet to fail him. He is often invited too parties during the week, but he decides often to not go, knowing it would ruin his morning ritual and distract him.

The last one to enter the building is Thomas, a boy around his age who actually does attend such parties. With his aviators on and naturally curly hair a sandy mess, it was obvious there was another party yesterday. Tim chuckled and fist-bumped Thomas as the boy stumbled slowly to his desk. With that, the desk department was there. The marine biologists and visiting researchers who come and go often zoom though, busy with actual animal saving acts of heroism. Tim watched them sometimes with admiration, using the excuse that he needs to post social media pictures. Their work was difficult, and he aches for that challenge, and the ability to save lives of those who live in the ocean.

A vibration on Tim's desk signaled a text. He picked up his phone to see it was Max responding. 'I got pretty much everything covered. Just make sure you're here around 6pm, gunna need some help setting up.'. Tim's face contorted into what has been known as his "text face". His lips puckered, eyebrows raised, and eyes wandered around as he took a solid few minutes to think of a good reply. Considering how close he is with Max, however, he was able to brew over texts much faster than compared to others.

"Alright bud, I'll be there. Thanks again, I can't wait."
Feeling it looked appropriate, he pressed send and went back to work. He was almost done with a graphic poster he made for the PSA. Now he was only working on small technicalities such as font, print compatibility, and adding a QR code that goes to an article in the CORAL website discussing more about shark safety written by himself with the co-writing skills of Max. While Tim knew how to give speeches, writing down words had always been slightly more difficult for him. Writing gave more of an opportunity to give a tone with not the voice but with the use of words, and Max was great at giving appropriate tones to different subjects. It was an admirable trait Tim saw develop over time.

Looking at the time, Tim nodded and went onto his computer and logged into the CORAL twitter to post the first morning message. "Sunny skies, high tides, and a positive lookout for today!" Tim attached an image of the party information to the post and sent it. Ironically enough, the post was eaten up by the locals like sharks to chum. A party funded by CORAL as a summer kick-off, the Town Prince himself Timothy Cousteau will be there, and Party Prince Maxwell Thompson will be hosting. It was surely going to be the talk of the town for the rest of the summer if everything panned out just right.

Jay looked over to her sister, hoping she would actually think about going. Niamh going to a party that wasn't a girls sleep over was something Jay desperately wanted to see. However,
Jay was pulled from her fantasies as she heard the insult from Niamh, which led to a pillow being flung at the book loving Erikson. "That's more your speed Miss. Romance." Jay scoffed and turned to look up to the ceiling. Thinking of the night to come.

The young girl sighed and could slowly feel her eyelids drooping. "You're coming, and if you don't I'm burning your books." She chuckled as she half heartedly threatened her sister.
"I'm going to pass out now, so you can get back to your book." Jay easily turned over to allow herself to sleep, while facing her sister. Suddenly calmer after spending some quality time with her sister.

Niamh laughed out loud, but in a controlled manner so that she wouldn’t wake up her parents. “I suppose I should give you credit for recognising the genre” She confessed. Niamh noticed that Jay seemed to be wanting to get to sleep, and had turned away from her. Anticipating that her elder sister would be asleep in less than a few minutes she returned back to her book, opening the pristine new pages once more. She took a lot of pride in her books, and a bookshelf along the far wall was full of them. Most books had been read, but since Niamh didn’t like to bend back the spine you couldn’t tell which one had or had not been read- save for the occasional coffee spill. Niamh looked up from the pages as her sister spoke up once again. Threatening to burn her life force if she didn’t go to the party. Part of her worried that Jay wasn’t joking, but burning her books may be a little extreme. Niamh sighed. “I’ll come,” She conceded. Her mind started to waver over what she would wear later- probably jeans and a flannel or a shirt which was what she usually wore. “Good night puta” She said to her sister with a small smirk on her face, using what little Spanish she knew to insult her sister.

The rest of the night went slowly, though Niamh passed the time by reading the next six chapters. She was nearly half way through now, and was gripped – to the point of not wanting to wake up so she could carry on reading. However, she got up at 9am- which was a safe time as her parents would be at work already- and headed to the bathroom for a shower where she lathered herself in several different body creams. After her shower, she went downstairs and got out the ingredients for breakfast. She put the bacon in the grill, and cracked some eggs in the pan to make scrambled egg. She also made toast, which she would probably have with Bovril. Whilst it cooked she made herself and her sister some coffee. When it was done she separated the food out onto two plates, and took one of them upstairs, sticking it on her sisters bedside table. “Rise and shine,” She sang, shaking her sister awake. “Eat, you’ll feel better,” It was now about 10:30, which wasn’t a silly time for Jay to wake up- even though Niamh knew that she would probably like to sleep until noon if she could. Niamh sat at the table to eat her breakfast, using her fork with one hand, and holding her book in the other.

      Maxwell "Max" Thompson

      A hero always get remembered...

[It wasn't until later in the day that things really started happening at the party house. Max was clearly in his element around noon delegating where people would go. Currently they were setting up the second DJ booth inside the house, the other was outside. He'd have to make sure certain areas were....out of bounds. The blonde sighed and ruffled his hair, he needed some more hands. Deciding to go through his contacts he settled on Anthony, while they never personally hung out Max knew almost everyone in town. And seeing as how he was connected with the resident wild girl of course Max would have his number. 'You got anything going on? Need some help for tonight's party. I promise I'll make it worth your while.' He texted with a smirk before getting back to work.

Max had put the few final touches on his article, he would have to revise it in case anything interesting happened but it was safe on his laptop. And his laptop would have stayed out of his mind all day if not for the ping on his computer. Checking it quickly the party prince let out a happy 'whoop' at some great news. He'd have to call Tim, otherwise who would believe it? Quickly the young man walked out to the front of his house to make a call to his best friend.

Instead of heading home for food, Tony went to one of his favorite places to eat which is Chipotle. He orders the same thing every time,
even though he wants to try to be daring and try something new. After Tony got his bowl of white rice, pinto beans, steak, corn, sour cream, and cheese,
he drove back home. Once home, he set his board in the garage and walked inside. Tony went straight up to his room and changed from his board shorts into some baggy dark blue shorts and a white tank top. Tony set his food on the bed while he grabbed his laptop and portable hard drive. He went on the bed and under the covers. He propped up the pillows against the wall for a nice cushion.
Tony opened is laptop and plugged in the hard drive. On the hard drive were some TV shows and movies that he torrented. He started watching the TV show he was currently on and took of the lid off to his food.
While in the middle of eating and watching TV, Tony got a text message from Max.

Max and Tony aren't really that close, but are both friends with Jaylin.
Tony was a little surprised that Max was asking for help for that nights party, let alone asking him for help. He was a little concerned about the last part of the text, but seeing as he didn't really have anything better to do than to watch a TV show on his laptop until the party he decided to help."Sure, what do you need and what time? And what do you mean you will make it worth my while..."

          Maxwell "Max" Thompson

          A hero always get remembered...

[Max chuckled when he got a response from the young Tony. 'Pizza, a joyride in my car, a wingman for a night. Get your mind out of the gutter little guy.' The blonde chuckled a bit as he called Tim on speaker. When he met with the very professional voicemail Max couldn't help but let out a sigh. "Dude!" He barked out in an exasperated fashion before running a hand through his hair.

The hyper blonde decided to leave a voicemail. "You're being a butt. Anyway, tonight's party is going to be a hit. We got the Erickson girls coming. And they know how to have some fun. You better be fun tonight no stick in the mud old man personalities allowed around here. All party poopers get thrown in the pool. See ya!" He ended the message and looked back to the party set up. It was coming along well but he had to keep at it. Hopefully, he'd get some help from Tony soon enough. For now, he gladly started playing some Fall Out Boy on the speakers. People typically suspected that the party was the best part. But to Max, the setup and the clean up the day after could be just as entertaining. And in some situations even more entertaining than the party itself.
