"Flaaaaare, how ya holdin' up?" Tera shouted with hands cupped around her mouth. The girl didn't really have to ask to know how she was physically because it was obvious to see that Flare looked like she was nearing the end of her rope. Fighting the paralysis, feeling the added pain from the latest furry cutter and carrying out an ember attack all at the same time took a toll on the fire lizard Pokemon. "Char! Charr!" A weary but unwavering cry. Despite all this, the Charmander was ready to take this battle to the end. It seemed like her trainer's battle spirit rubbed off on her a little which put a proud smile on the pink haired girl's face.

Neither Flare nor Tera could tell just how hurt Ava's Joltik was, but they both knew that he had taken quite a beating himself from all more than toasty attacks they were dishing out. With the two combatants looking and moving the way they did, Tera could guess that her fire Pokemon's next move would probably be their last, so she had to make it count. "That's the spirit! Let's give 'em some fresh air with Air Cutter!" Still reeling from the last attack, it took a good few moments for the haggard orange-red reptile to gather herself for her final attack. Flare planted her feet firmly on the ground as hues of blueish air or light gathered around her arms. A flick of her arms in an X formation released the gathered around her arms towards her difficult to track opponent. A cloud of dust kicked up behind the air cutter attack and followed the straight path to Fritz. Tera couldn't really tell what happened, but Flare had fallen after initiating and delivering her final attack.The battle was too close for her to tell who the victor was, so she had to wait for the referee to judge the battle.

"Thank you very much for this battle!" The girl shouted as she bowed towards her opponents right after the referee would call the winner of the match. Tera then immediately ran full speed towards the field to check on her Charmander and then Ava's Joltik. She didn't care much about who won and cared more about the status of their Pokemon. They both seemed to be in stable condition, though battered from battle. "You did good!" She said softly to Flare as she scooped her off her feet, gently nuzzling her tired Pokemon nose. The girl then faced Ava. "You guys did awesome too! Had us on the ropes!" The way her friend strategized Fritz's moves while keeping calm made the pink hair girl admire the girl and made her think that she still had much to learn from both the strategic and emotional aspects of battle. "How's Fritz?" She paused, feeling like she was forgetting something... Oh right! "Thanks for snappin' me out of it durin' the match. Really saved me!" Even with the battle over, Tera's mind was still all over the place!

Both Flare and Fritz were at the end of their ropes, it seemed. Paralysis had taken it's toll on the Charmander just as Ember had done to the Joltik. She didn't expect Flare to be able to land another hit, but he actually did. Tera called for Air Cutter, and Ava went into bewilderment. Wasn't that a flying move or something? Steel? Ava was quick to snap back into the battle. "Fritz! Dodge it!" But her call was too late. Flare ran in and she could see the yellow dot that was Fritz knocked back, leaving both pokemon fallen over. "Fritz? Fritz?" No response. Ava waited for someone to make the call, but she didn't have a good feeling about this.

As the referee would call the winner of the match, Tera and Flare came out on top. Both girls ran into the field, going to their respective pokemon. "Hey, this was a good first battle. We'll get them next time!" It was disappointing that her first battle would be a loss, but at least that loss was to a friend instead of a stranger! She called Fritz back into his pokeball. Tera addressed her, complimenting her on a good battle. Tera still talked a mile a minute "Thanks! You did well too! Oh, Fritz? He'll be ok. Worn out, definitely!" Her pink haired friend also thanked her for snapping her back into the battle. Ava laughed a little. "It's ok! This was actually my first battle, so I'm super glad I got to battle a friend. Anyway, let's go get healed up! Come on!" Was Ava sad from the loss? A little bit, honestly. But she still found reason to smile, walking off the arena and towards the healing center
