Sumiko sighed as she read the from Eiji. It seemed that they were going to be the opposition, which meant some modicum of hard work on her part. She passed the note to Kuhaku, finished up the seal she was carving into the tree. She put the kunai she was using back, placing her palm flush up against another part of the tree, causing a pair of wood clones to emerge from the tree, quickly taking on her shape and appearance. One would walk over to Kuhaku, quickly condensing itself into a small pill that would land in his hand. The other stayed next to Sumiko as she began to walk towards the side of the mountain.

Once Sumiko was several feet from the group, she clasped her hands together, gathering a massive amount of chakra in her body, focusing it through her feet. For a few moments, nothing would seem to happen. Those with chakra sensing would notice the power that she had concentrated through her feet was rapidly spreading out in front of her, like the roots of a tree. Then suddenly, the chakra would manifest into a physical form, causing that entire section of the mountain range to shudder and buckle uncontrollably. The now solidified 'roots' broke through the ground, creating a rise of jagged rocks as the roots continued their skyward advance, splintering into more shoots that began to spawn leaves. In only a handful of seconds, the sparsely forested mountain range was now covered in a dense forest of trees. "Ugh, maximum effort." Sumiko would say, as she stepped forward into the forest, merging with one of the trees and disappearing from sight.

In the meantime, a tree root would grab Zephyr and gently drag him down the mountain back to the group.

                                                                    Speed: 5
                                                                    Strength: 7

Kai N. Yamanaka

Kai, being teleported back to the start, promptly belches near a tree. Time-space techniques... maybe eventually, but for now he was simply not prepared for that kind of travel. Ugh. Now he'd be hungry the rest of the test. Still, he was wondering what took so long with the set-up.

Armand slowly emerged from the treeline after remaining hidden for quite a while. For the moment, he was drifting, but now some new people had shown up. He had stuck around long enough to see most, especially Harumi's magnificent entrance. There was life there. He could appreciate that.

A lanky and almost stumbling figure approached the group gathering at the mountain base, smiling wide and staring ahead, sizing up most of the people there. It wasn't a combative stare, but a very attentive one. "Hello, family~" He spoke, a sing-song voice echoing on the rocks. He wasn't sure what was going on with this gathering, but it couldn't hurt to stick around.

"Good morning," Hana greeted the newcomer cheerfully, skipping away from currently stationary Ayura to this lanky weirdo. She liked the rhythm he gave to his words. It was a fun rhythm. Plus, there was no way he could be a bad guy, right? At least, eleven year old Hana could see no way. Then again, she was only eleven. What did an eleven year old know about dangerous?

"Good morning, everyone." The face of the Shogun would seem to appear from nowhere as he emerged from the earth in front of them, further up the base of the mountain. "And welcome to Mount Daimyaku. I'm sure you've heard the loudspeaker at least once now, but there is one capital rule that you must obey while you're on this mountain. No shinobi--under any circumstances but my express permission--is to enter Zone One. Doing so regardless is considered an act of treason, and will be punished with a swift death." A grim silence hung in the air for a few moments before Eiji would clear his throat and begin speaking again.

"As long as you don't go on that specific part of the mountain, you'll be just fine. Keep this in mind. Anyway, what we have before us today is the time-tested training ground of some of the greatest shinobi this village has ever cultivated. For the next four days, you'll work as teams to survive the obstacles and challenges presented to you. This also includes working against the enemy team in open combat operations. In a sense, this exercise is meant to prepare you for a wartime situation, where all of your skills, mentality, and limits will be tested at once." Eiji would beckon for the group to follow him as he slowly started walking up the mountain path, explaining more in detail as he brought them to their starting positions. "You'll be split into three groups, each its own team of three. Furthermore, each of you will have a squad leader, selected either from the village's ANBU task force, or..." He trailed off, just continuing to walk as the group mused over what he'd said.

It was at this point that the group arrived at an area freakishly similar to the Leaf Chuunin exams' Forest of Death. A tremendous, barbed fence separated them from a line of trees that extended quite some ways up the mountain. Truly odd, considering the mountain was stone. More likely than not, this meant that the trees were most definitely unnatural. "Here we are. We'll begin to split the teams here. Well, not begin, as they've already been assigned, but moving on." Eiji would procure a scroll from his jacket, sliding it open, speaking very clearly, "The three teams shall be arranged as follows. Team one shall be led by Azobu, with its members being Armand, Hana, and Ayura." Clearing his throat again before continuing, "The second team, led by Kat, will comprise of Zephyr, Izuku, and Kai. And the final team..." Eiji would cross his arms after putting the scroll away. "Will consist of Koshu, Rin, and Harumi. And I'll be their team leader." Giving each of them an apathetic stare for a moment, Eiji would then turn to the survival area. "The teams have been made, and we're ready to proceed. There is just one final rule. The use of techniques over A-rank--as well as any sort of summoning jutsu--is forbidden during this exercise. With that in mind, you should see a sort of seal on the ground in front of your team leader. Watch carefully as they step onto it, as you will need to mimic them in order to be transported to your destination." The seals before them weren't exactly space time, either. They were chakra pressure seals. "As soon as you land, the exercise begins. Best of luck." Being the first to demonstrate--along with the other two squad leaders--Eiji would step onto the seal before activating the Tiger hand seal.

What happened next would be exciting--hopefully--for the Genin. Without warning, Eiji and the teachers were launched into the air at rapid velocity, each of them flying up above the treelines and out of sight. To keep things fair, they'd made the angle of descent between the two seals so that the Genin wouldn't be able to see just where the other teams' leaders had flown to. And when they did enter the air, they would notice the vision-obscuring mist that remained until the last moment. The moment when they would each land in a pool of extremely deep water, preventing them from harm during the descent. This went for all three teams.

                                                                  | Uchiha Eiji | Shogun | Ninjutsu | Uchiha |

Arriving back in the homeland had not taken long for the speedster. Once she had finally set again in her own turf she slowed her pace considerably as she started to make her way towards the mountain. All of the conditioning in the world couldn't keep your breath while running between nations at max speed. Still it wasn't something the girl wasn't used to so she kept her air flow going Steadily. By the time she reached the group her eyes were disengaged and she was walking silently once more. She would just barely catch the tail end of the beginning portion to what Eiji said and saw the group being led to the catapults. Kat, after hearing her name, seemed to skirt around the group and skid to a stop beside the man and the Anbu. Her own special forces weren't at her beck and call; no one would be at the side of the villages military leader if she had anything to say about bodyguards. When needed her small court consisting of Sumiko and her brother was good enough. No, hers remained in the many businesses, reporting everything to her from cubicles and offices all over the country. On a dime they could 180 into perfect special forces agents, but rarely did she use them for much besides assassination and subterfuge. A fair fight, Kat did not enjoy after all. Not to a high degree. A grin composed of soft lips played along the face of the Otokage, who pulled down her collar to expose her face and tossed aside the hat hanging from her back. A hand found her hip as she realized Eiji had taken her students for the time being, walking along, well more like skipping, keeping pace with very low effort put in. Her eyes examined those she was to take. Her brother's personal student, the oddball from her office... and the one who was in her fishtank. Interesting that one loosely related to her ended up in her squad for the exercise. Either way, by the time Eiji finished speaking, Kat too was on the launchpad, forming her fingers into a single seal and winking to her students before being flung, backwards, into the mountain range. Katherine recalled how this worked after having participated, facilitated, and led this exercise. It never changed. Her body fell backwards with her hands in her pockets until just before she hit the water. She rolled so her feet hit first and she went in like an arrow. A basic water technique turned her form itself into water upon hitting the surface, and a few feet away she reformed to it's surface, completely dry, waiting for her students before continuing on.

Armand smiled and reached out a hand to pat her on the head, should the small one accept the gesture. "Good morning. I believe you are Hana, if I have been hearing correctly, and if my powers of assumption are powerful enough~"

When the siren began and the announcements were made, he could only smile a little wider. "I suppose we're in the thick of things together." Armand watched as the men launched themselves off the seals, towards the target zone. "An aerial entry, hm? Allow me to launch first...I shall clear the dropzone if it needs it. When in doubt, just get behind me."

He hadn't met the other team member, but he was sure that he would appear when the time was right. "Very well...tactical air-to-ground Armand away~" With that, he would mimic the Shogun's movement and step onto one of the seals, launching quickly into the air. At the apoapsis of his flight, he would begin to prepare plates of bone to gather around his forearms, shins, thighs, and any sort of non-jointed area for an extra bit of protection and armor. He was happily surprised to see a pool of water, but considered the words of the Shogun. Was it for a soft landing, or something more malicious? Best to trust that they weren't going to pick them off at the start, Armand let himself slam into the water and break his descent, quickly swimming up and climbing out. Head on a swivel, he did his best to pull security and wait for his team. Snow began to fall...how strange. At this rate, it would be dense, hard to see even. This was fine...he have to would rely on his senses of an assassin to make it through this. The cold wouldn't bother him either...his body was one of a stranger makeup than the others. At the very least, he could try to keep his comrades warm.

Water is nothing if not ingemination

Hana....why were you so young? Ayura inwardly cringed at Hana's behavior and actions. If at first it wasn't her rushing ahead to climb the mountain, it was the space-time jutsu pushing her back to the bottom of the mountain. Even if that had been the worst the perky eleven year old girl couldn't stop her energy enough to just sit still and think about life in total silence. Why had he signed up for this in the first place? All the other gaurdians had just sat with their partner in their village, nice and simple. They were in a ninja village. How exciting.

"Hana!" Ayura shouted kindly as he stood up, waving to her and moving to be by her side. His face lit up as he gave a charming smile, teeth flashing as he glided smoothly forward. Upon seeing Armand, Ayura tilted his head to the side and studied him curiously while he turned back to the Shogun that was speaking. Immediately, all he wanted to do was curl up into a shell that didn't involve any of this. Fighting? That was not Ayura's strength so this test would probably be lost on him but alas. If the shogun commanded something, you did it.

After Armand moved onto the marking and launched himself into the space where the event would take place, Ayura finally connected the name and the face realizing this mysterious person was going to be there team mate. Hopefully he could fight. "Hana I'm going to go ahead and ensure with our new friend that everything's fine, alright? Give us a few then come along, enjoy the ride along the way!" With that, the boy walked over to the marking and turned to face Hana, raising a lazy eyebrow as he was launched to his destination. Prepping himself, Ayura turned the launch into a graceful dive as he entered the surface of the water. It was cold, very, and the snow that was beginning to fall didn't seem to help that. A few glances gave him a view of Armand and he swam to that side of the water and pulled himself out. Already they could see mist forming from their breaths as it exited their mouths in slight puffs. For once Ayura was happy for his jacket, while it was definitely a pain at times the insulation and protection against the water was good....even though it was soaked. "You must be Armand, Ayura." Ayura itroduced himself as he tried drying out his jacket and presented a somewhat wet hand to Armand. All the while he was observing the forest around them in case of an attack.

an encore to the tenacity of life.

Kai N. Yamanaka

Once Kai was finished burping on the tree, he heard the instructions. Zephyr and Izuku? He believes he had seen them at the dojo. While he didn't think working with them was necessary, he accepted the instructions as he could, at the least, see some action. Stepping up to the launch pad, Kai sent himself up to his team's area.

It seemed that despite calling them hopeless, he wanted Harumi and Koshu to be in his squad for the exercise. That could only mean one thing. It was time to shine bright like only a magician could. She was rather sad that she couldn't use Bebe, but he did need a nice long nap. Bebe quickly scampered up her shoulder and into her hat. Harumi looked over at Koshu, poking him in the side with her wand. "Let's go Koko-chan. And try to be nice this time, I don't want you making Edgy-senpai mad again." Harumi was now upside down at this point as the floated towards Eiji, her hat somehow firmly secured to her head. "You too Riri-chan."

Harumi gently floated over to where Eiji had disappeared. She lowered her legs, placing her feet on the ground for only a moment before being launched across the sky at high speeds. She quickly plummeted, slamming into a puddle of water. Her body flew down into the water and she began to struggle, attempting to find her way out of the water. Pulling free her wand, Harumi would shoot out of the water, hovering above the surface, covered in dripping water, her clothes and equipment thoroughly soaked, save for her hat. She looked at Eiji who was now standing at the edge of the pool. She raised a hand in greeting to him. "Oi, Eiji-senpai."

Similarly to the Rinnegan, this means that enemies with higher chakra signatures are more easily combated, as the movements in their chakra are much easier to detect. This also means that enemies with higher chakra levels can be sensed from further away.
CAN I BORROW AN ASSISTANT FROM THE CROWD? -- Along with their ability to sense chakra, the natural energy connection allows the Magicians to have a personalized companion, typically an animal. This animal must be applied for within the pet applications--or right away with the bloodline application--and is subject to review from the regular summon/pet approver. If the Magician is willing to part with their ability to summon other hierarchies on the traditional summoning list, they may choose to have one much more powerful familiar, complete with a sage mode of its own. The sage mode--however--must at least mirror the current standard of sage modes in the guild, no stronger. Whereas the single summoned familiar may be more powerful than a boss summon, as it is the only summonable companion they get. if their outside chakra source is destroyed, so is their connection to this companion. Like the chakra source, this disconnection is only temporary, and can be repaired outside of battle.

Looking over at Harumi he raised a single eyebrow towards her, his pure white eyes staring into her own for a moment before he just nodded his head along with her. "Not my fault he's super Edgy..." With that said he followed behind her towards Eiji, keeping his hands in his pockets as he strode towards the small group that was there. Getting launched into the air Koshu decided to be a bit stylish, keeping his hands in his pockets as he spun around in the air rapidly. It made him a bit sick at first, but he simply ignored it and allowed himself to fall into the water before sinking to the bottom after impact. Planting his feet firmly on the ground he crouched down slightly before launching himself out of the water.

                                                    • [BLOODLINE] Energy Negation:
By expending chakra equal to the chakra spent by the opponent, the user of this passive ability can negate an energy-based attack used by their enemy. This passive cannot be used to negate Genjutsu or sealing techniques. This ability's power is considered one rank higher than the chakra use; you only have to spend B-rank chakra to negate an A-rank technique.
                                                    • [BLOODLINE] Chakra-Enhanced Combat
By expending C-ranked chakra while performing an action, one can increase the force behind the movement. For example, a chakra-enhanced punch has more power for that one movement (+1 strength), or a sudden burst of speed can become even faster (+1). This boost extends past the cap, but each individual movement costs 5 chakra.
                                                    • [BLOODLINE] May use one Taijutsu style for free and gain stats, may learn one additional taijutsu style.
                                                    • [BLOODLINE] Direct hits on the opponent take away [10] chakra points. When hitting an opponent with Hyuuga techniques, 10% of the usual chakra drain is applied. For example, using the complete 8 Trigrams 64 Palms on an opponent will take 64 points as opposed to 640.
                                                    • [CLASS] Physical Toughness -- The Taijutsu class not only teaches you to ignore pain, but can also make you immune to damage from weak attacks, based on your rank, making you almost immune to damage 2 ranks below you:

Jounin taijutsu classmen are immune to genin jutsu damage
Sannin taijutsu classmen are immune to chuunin jutsu damage

Anything lower than that rank also applies.

She went and stepped on the area that the Eiji had gone on. She was launched into the air at a high speed though she didn't feel anything different. When she plummeted it was obscured but a pool of water would show up. She wasn't going to get wet as it would get in the way later. So she phased into the light, it was only two seconds but it was enough to move out of the way of the pool and safely on to dry ground. She noticed the other two were soaked and that was a problem. This was a survival exercise and no one would survive very long if they froze to death. So she pulled out two seals and placed them on Harumi and Koshu. "If you notice those seals will keep warming up, when you guys are dry take them off. And Eiji Sensei, I am assuming you do not need one if you do let me know. Also while I'm sure you obscured our vision so we could not see where the other teams landed, I pretty much have a general idea of where they all our thanks to the fact they have higher level ninja with them. The chakra is quite easy to sense, I could even attack them from right here. Sorry if that breaks what you were going for, but it is my natural ability."

With that she wondered if perhaps she was supposed to sabotage the other teams with a long range attack. It seemed a good move to do, but perhaps that was not the point she decided to ask to be sure. "Sensei am I allowed to sabotage them from long range with a jutsu? I'm not quite sure if that is part of what we are supposed to be doing yet." With that she would simply wait for his answer, in truth they hadn't been told what they were specifically doing just a vague idea.

                                                                                Technique: Atsui( 暑い Hot)
Pretty simple seal anything that this seal is placed on will heat up and keep heating up until the seal is removed which is sometimes harder than it sounds.

                                                                                Chakra: 170/175 Untapped Power: 50/50

                                                                                Speed: 4

                                                                                Strength: 3

                                                                                Passives:

                                                                                • Incarna Demona
The ability to manipulate the time specifically around the user's body, severing their connection to the time of the current world. This can be used to heavily increase the user's speed, or heavily reduce the opponent's speed if used with chakra. Objects are also effected by this. This increases in power as the user ranks up: +1 at Chuunin, +2 at Jounin. To use this on the opponent, you must sacrifice the cost of the rank being used on them; ie, A rank chakra for a -2 slow. You can also use this on allies for positive effect, but as stated in the rules, this ability can only be used on one person at a time. This is considered a base buff or debuff.

                                                                                • Dragon's Blood
Being related to the Divine Beasts, the Genuire are draconian in their own right. Many of them actually develop the traits of a Divine Beast. This ability in particular allows for Genuire bloodline users to perceive natural energy due to their connection with the spiritual and animal forces. It is a long-range perception that can judge incoming masses of chakra and can also project their energy through these channelways, allowing them to send techniques across long expanses to attack enemies from afar. This is an ability mostly good for assassination. This cannot be used to detect genjutsu, but it can tell that a technique is being used. It also cannot release you from genjutsu.

                                                                                • Joukai can manipulate techniques they've used. For example, if you shoot a beam of light, you can change its trajectory/path. If you shoot a ball of light, you can move it manually. At lower ranks, you must use your palm to manipulate the trajectory. Once you reach Jounin, you can do it with your mind, almost like telekinesis. Also, all light techniques can be focused; for example, a large and wide explosion of light can instead be decreased in size but increased in precision and heat. Essentially, you'd be turning it into a more accurate death ray.

                                                                                • Every seven posts, you can phase out into light. This is essentially a very short (two second long) ability that lets you turn into light every so often. It doesn't cost any chakra. You can travel a distance of up to twenty feet while phased.

                                                                                • You're immune to being blinded. You cannot be blinded by any means or even reduced in vision. The light is always present in your eyes. Furthermore, you can manifest light in external places, and burn them. For example, if you were to mark a location (as simple as pointing your palm at it), which would give it a golden lock-on symbol, you could transport your light techniques to that location. However, this is not a targeting system, and the light will not suddenly lock on to a target if it's moving. It's as simple as; if an enemy is standing in one place, you can almost instantaneously transport light to them, although it's really obvious since you have to lock onto them (which visibly floats in the air). It takes over a second to lock on, so anyone with a decent reaction time can easily get out of the way.

Though he had specific opinions about their methods, only one of them really stood out as something that he felt the need to point out. Addressing Harumi with little more than a nod, a grin started to play on his face when Koshu leaped out of the water oh so gracefully. "Practicing your recital for the Little Mermaid, I see. Don't worry, Ariel, you looked beautiful." Shaking his head, Eiji didn't really understand what Rin was getting at with all of this detection nonsense, but he shook his head, letting the conversation slip into an awkward pitfall from there. The Uchiha would let the silence hang for just a moment longer, giving his students time to absorb the environment around them, getting attuned to the sounds of nature, familiarizing themselves with the noise around them, so that any outside sources of noise would be immediately detected.

"Your purpose in this exercise is to survive in a simulated wartime environment. From this point on, the genin in the other two teams are your enemies until this exercise is over. Attack them, but refrain from using lethal force. Survive, but do not leave a noticeable trace on the environment." Eiji would then motion for the group to begin following him on a winding path, giving them plenty of natural cover for when they entered the areas not obscured by the mist. They would need to go just a little further around the mountain range to reach the zones of full visibility; surely, the other two team leaders were doing the same. "Now...I assume you've all had some sort of field training before. In what order do you believe this group should be arranged? Where should we all be standing, and what should our roles be in order to ensure the most successful operation?" While they walked, he would occasionally throw in educational questions like this. Considering they didn't know much of Eiji's abilities, it would be interesting to see their take on what his skillset was.

"Excellent, right on time~" At the offer of a handshake, Armand didn't think twice and returned the gesture. "I suppose we're pulling security until Hana arrives, hm?~"

"Well, getting down to it...I'm rather fast and hard to keep down, but I have few long-range capabilities and need to lose the distance. I'm also rather good at hiding and working in tight spaces. Therefore, I think it's best we decide to survive and work our way across the terrain as opposed to actively trying to engage any other teams or hostiles. What is it you can do?~" He inquired, trying to formulate some sense of strategy for the group.

"You should save your chakra Riri-chan. I can't lug around Ko-chan and you at the same time. We gotta be efficient." Harumi finished putting on a dry jacket, and knelt down to fix her shoes for a moment as Eiji asked the group a question. Harumi waiting for him to finish before standing back up, placing a finger on her chin as she looked upwards into the air, puzzled. "Hmmm. You should take the lead Eiji-senpai, since you know the terrain and the path we probably need to take. Your also the most experienced. And Koko-chan should be in the rear, since his byakugan can watch behind us. He's also a pretty good fighter, so if Riri or I get attacked in the middle, he can charge forward to be our shield. I should be behind you Eiji-senpai, since I'm all out firepower." With this, she flicked a wand in one hand and made a gun gesture with the other. "And that leaves Riri behind me but in front of Koko-chan." She turned to Koshu and Rin, smiling as she fixed her headband. Little did they know, she just wanted to be closer to the front because that's where the explosions were going to be. And besides, how else was she supposed to shine bright from the back of the group.

NO HANDSEALS -- Because of the ease of use for elemental jutsu of their element, the do not need hand signs for jutsu of their element.
RANK INCREASE -- Sage Classmen gain a +1 in the strength of their chosen Sage element
BLOOD OF IRON -- This allows the user to manipulate iron sand in the area around them that they unearth or create. This is heavier than sand techniques, and can be used to neutralize them with techniques. The amount manipulated varies by rank, and this amount is always with them, be it in a gold, in the ground below, or however. This amount cannot exceed the amount that is allowed to be manipulated at that rank. The speed of the sand is one higher than your speed if using hands to manipulate it, or your speed normally. It is as strong as you are as well.
REGEN -- +5 chakra regen per post.
ONI'S BLOOD -- The Magician's connection to natural energy gives them the ability to detect movements in the flow of natural energy around them. This gives the Magicians a very high level of perception, allowing them to recognize incoming masses of chakra, as well as detecting the flow of energy within the bodies of their opponents to gain insight on their next moves.
