[FIN] Handling It

It was true but... Yeah. It was weird but he couldn't help thinking about the sculpture of the Zoroark he'd made, before he'd known his name was Jacques and before.... Yeah. He'd enjoyed brining such a lively feeling character out of the wood but now he was gone forever. It wasn't right but it was reality.

"I ah, I brought a flask of coffee and some snack if you want any," Taavi said a little awkwardly with a nod to the small messenger bag hanging from his shoulder. "Just like, some fruit and nuts and stuff. Um. But the coffee is hot so it might be nice? It is getting kinda cold right?"

<> Swift sighed, sitting back on his haunched and gazing up through the boughs. <can soar for hours and think nothing of it.>>

"Oh," the brunette replied as traces of surprise crept into her expression. She hadn't expected the offer of snacks or coffee. "Ah, no thanks. I like a lot of milk in my coffee, and I don't really like nuts or anything." Oh wait, he'd said fruit too. "What, ah.. what kind of fruit do you have?" That wasn't too terribly awkward, was it?

Anya replied with a small, faintly amused huff as she plopped her rump onto the grass and cast her gaze skyward. While she noticed the tense he used and corrected himself to, the dark-type refrained from commenting. She was having a similar problem, after all. ...she was beginning to feel as if she should say more, but she didn't really know what to say; she stayed quiet for the moment instead.

"Oh!" Taavi actually looked a little pleased to be asked. "Well I have an apple a banana, a pear, and some dried apricots? Uh, variety right? And I like all of them, so, if you'd like any of them that's... that's good." Awkward. Thank Arceus Diancie would probably distract them soon!

<> Swift looked thoughtful for a few moments before he smiled slightly and added; <>

Yep, he was still just as awkward. "Could I have a banana please?" That was a phrase she never would've uttered a few years ago.

Giselle returned then and spun in place. she reported.

"Good, thank you," the brunette said before she pulled out a premier ball and pressed the button with her thumb.

In the flash of white light that followed, the shape of the familiar Diancie materialized in the air. Her pink eyes opened and she quickly looked around and, once realizing that it was indeed safe - even if there were so many unfamiliar Pokémon about - her gaze sought out and almost immediately found Taavi, who she gave a shy smile as she floated over to him, holding out her small hands as she made a soft, pleased noise in her throat.

Anya smiled softly.

"Sure," Taavi replied with another brief smile as he fetched the fruit out and handed it over. After a moment of deliberation he then took the apple out for himself and bit into it, he still didn't have much appetite but food was fuel and he needed that if he was going to heal properly.

When the Diancie appeared Taavi's smile returned, still tired but genuine. "Hey there," he greeted, tucking his apple into his sling out of the way so that he could reach out to offer her his hand. "You look good, how've you been? Um, and is it Victoria now? It's a lovely name."

Sera accepted the offered fruit with a soft "thank you" and, as she actually remembered she had two hands again, she peeled the banana halfway and took a bite. Since they'd planned to meet up mostly so Taavi could see Victoria again, the brunette felt little need to comment just yet.

The named clasped Taavi's hand in both her small ones and nodded her head a bit. Her gaze drifted down and she frowned a bit in confusion; hesitantly, uncertainly she withdrew one hand so that she could point at the cast covering his arm and aimed a questioning expression at him.

the Umbreon pointed out with a small smile. Simple, light-hearted conversations were lovely, and so much easier than talking about more difficult topics.

Taavi smiled briefly and nodded in response to Sera before turning his attention back to Victoria. "Oh, it's okay," he assured her with a slight shake of his head with another momentary smile. "My arm was broken but it'll heal fine, I'll have the cast off at the start of December be back to normal by the end of it." Arm-wise anyway.

<and flying?>> Swift suggested with a smile and a little flick of his tails. <> Swift's thoughts were running along much the same lines as Anya's, some easy smalltalk when so much had been either pain or painful silence since it had happened was a relief.

Her frown deepened and hints of confusion slipped into the expression as she tried to puzzle out the unfamiliar terms he'd used. She echoed - or attempted to - in a light voice.

Giselle supplied helpfully as she floated closer to gesture at Taavi's cast for the Diancie's benefit, trying to choose words that she knew Victoria would understand. Said Diancie's mouth formed a small 'o' as she peered at it closer, her pink eyes widening a bit.

Victoria tentatively reached a hand out to touch the cast.

Anya agreed with a growing smile - albeit slowly - as she laid herself down in the grass not too far from Sera's rocky seat.

After a brief translation from Sky Taavi shook his head and held his arm out to Victoria. "It's a bit sore but it doesn't hurt unless I knock it against something. The cast is um, is pretty cool. They're usually made of plaster and stuff, quite thick and heavy, but this is really light and the doctors can take it on and off. You don't usually do that with a broken bone but I had a bite too that they need to take care of." Victoria's innocent interest and concern made it easier to talk about the injury and just that without his mind wandering elsewhere; he was really glad he'd made the effort to text Sera.

<> Swift agreed with a slight nod.

<> Aurelia put in, sounding rather perplexed as she swished her golden tails. She was already perfect, why would she imagine being different?

Victoria looked from the large bug to Taavi and back again, briefly confused, but it occurred to her that they were using the same method that Giselle and Sera did. Not that that helped her to understand some of the more technical terms he used; her puzzlement continued, but despite it she nodded her head. she said; the only 'knocking' she knew of was when one knocked on a door. Hopefully no one did that to the thing on his arm -- the.. cast? Was that what that word was he kept using? Either way her small hand withdrew. She wasn't about to be the one to knock on his cast.

The dark-type nodded her head, but her attention switched to Aurelia for the moment. She asked, traces of humor in her tones. Certainly she would be able to, given that's what she'd evolve into -- or maybe she didn't want to?

"I'll be careful," Taavi promised, perching on the edge of the large rock Sera was using as a seat. "How are you though, settling in well with Sera and the others?" As he asked this he glanced to Sera too with a brief smile, it seemed like it was all going well but it would be nice to hear a bit more from one or both of them.

<> Aurelia agreed with a brief frown. <>

Swift smiled wryly and shook his head. <>

Victoria's expression brightened. With that conversation done, her curiosity got the better of her and she floated closer to Sky - hesitantly - to circle her and get a better view of Taavi's translator. her attention was drawn away again, though she stayed floating near the Scyther, Her uncertain gaze shifted to Sera for confirmation.

The brunette didn't need Giselle to translate for her to understand the questioning look, so she nodded, "Yeah, she is. She was really shy at first and didn't talk much, but she opened up eventually. I think she opens up a bit quicker now than she did before, too," she added thoughtfully as she leaned back on the rock, her metal arm folded over her lap while she held the banana in her other hand. "Mother loves her and thinks she's so precious."

A light frown crossed Anya's face; for some reason the words just rubbed her the wrong way.
<Ugh,> Agatha said as she suddenly flopped over onto the grass nearby, sprawling her arms out and flexing her claws -- short for the moment. Jasmine. Gross.>

Anya said in firmer tones, giving the Weavile a Look.

"I'm really glad to hear that, and your mother's right Sera! You are extremely precious Victoria. Um, but yeah it's good to know you're feeling comfortable and happy now." Did she know what had happened? Taavi glanced at Sera again for a moment but he couldn't think of any subtle way to find out, just in case they had kept it from Victoria to avoid upsetting her.

<> The golden Vulpix looked a little vague for a moment before continuing with; <>

<> Swift agreed with a wry smile, Aurelia was very... err... confident. Okay she was quite vain but she generally remembered to be basically kind in the end. Generally.

Seraphine nodded as she took another bite of her banana. Victoria smiled a little brighter, and as the conversation seemed over for the moment she cast her pink eyes around at their surroundings now instead of their company. The leaves intrigued her - they didn't look like this the very few times she'd been outside - so she spent some time floating from one tree to the next, lingering or circling each for a good minute or so to study the bark and changing leaves.

Anya supplied helpfully, unable to help but feel a twinge of sympathy,
The Weavile offered with a toothy grin.

<Agatha.> The Umbreon stamped a paw down, frowning severely at her as her ears flicked back.

the named scoffed as she waved a paw, boredom creeping into her expression now that her fun was being ruined.

Unconvinced but unwilling to focus on that, Anastasia continued, only thing you're interested in -- unless you're in contests or the like, that is, though we don't have those here.>

Seeing Sera take a bite of the banana reminded Taavi about his apple; he received it from his sling and bit into it as he watched Victoria move around the trees. "It's Autumn now," he explained once he'd swallowed. "The days get shorter and the weather gets colder and, um, lots of trees will lose their leaves until spring when the days get longer again but they turn really pretty colours before they fall." Sandalwood was amazing this time of year, but he didn't have any inclination to go back to the forest any time soon.

Aurelia huffed and sat down, curling her tails primly around herself; she didn't know who Jasmine was but she didn't think that Agatha was talking about her, whoever she was. <<Friends,>> she agreed with Anya, pointedly turning away from the Weavile. <> she concluded with a wistful sigh.

<> Swift offered encouragingly. He hardly expected Taavi to have money to spend on things like that any time soon but hope was the theme of the day wasn't it?
