phadedsky Arm warmers = the secks I want to make the ones in SnB nation, but I don't know how to cable knit yet. Cables aren't too hard, just make a little square and practice them. I'm considering making those armwarmers eventually, but right now I have too many other projects going. I've been designing a fairy costume and I was thinking about how I would make the wings and then I saw this crazy bling bling yarn that I got the other day. So, I got the idea of knitting the wings with some really big needles which I think will give them a very interesting texture....I'm going to try and experiment with this and hopefully I can find something that will work nicely.

Bling Bling yarn is sooooo fun! I just started knitting a poncho with that - size 13 (or 9mm whichever you say) needles seem to work very well

The hats are relly easy and take me 2-3 hours. I knit really tight so you may want to go down a needle size or something.
I use size 15 neadles 1 fuzzy yarn 1 more fuzzy yarn or something soft and chunky
treat the two yarns as one cast on 40 stitches just keep knitting until it's nearly as long as you want it (probably about 6 or 7 inches for me, but I just estimate )
shaping the top: knit 5 then knit the next two stitches together to decrease and continue that to the end of the row knit row knit 4 and decrease like before to end of row knit row knit 3 and decrease to end of row knit row knit 2 and decrease to end of row knit row knit 1 and decrease to end of row bind it off and sow the sides together
and you're done!!!! I hope that it's clear, I've never written out a pattern before.
my yarns: the first hat is a long fuzz and the shorter curly fuzz, It's really soft the second hat is two of the long fuzzy yarns and TLC Amore which is really soft and worsted weight the third one is the TLC Amore again and the eyelash. This one I did in stockinette stitch, it probably wouldn't look bad in garter, but I think it looks a little bit better in stockinette so good luck and have fun, maybe this weekend I'll get some pictures of other hats I've made

I made a coaster once. Or at least, I think that's what it is. I tried to do it without a pattern.

thanks biggrin I'm excited because I'm almost finished with my bag! I just have one strap left to knit. It has been 4 months now since I started, I've been too busy with school.
