Blackstone had followed behind as closely as she could with Brightstar, but was no where near as fast. They left her in the dust, but her senses were becoming stronger and Blackstone had no problem of following them through the woods to the border.
Although she arrived late, she could see and feel the tension in the air. Blackstone's fur bristled slightly, and she found a spot within ear shot of the leaders. She was part of Lightning clan now, and whatever decision was made: she would fight for her new family.

Honeyfur was out in the territory collecting herbs when Sparrowflight sprinted passed him, catching his attention. Wait was going on? Was Sparrowflight okay? Did something happen? The medicine cat dropped his herbs and ran after her, though she was too quick. He knew that she was going towards the camp, and he made his way there, just in time for her call. A fight at the border? Timberfall involved?

Honeyfur's heart started racing. Was Timberfall okay? What was the cause? How big was the fight? If Sparrowflight was sent back to send the message, they were probably ambushed, outnumbered, and Sparrowflight was told to send help.

Soon enough, Sparrowflight lead the clan to Timberfall, and there were other Riverclanners around too. And a kit?

Foxfur pinned his ears at being blocked and he stopped until flamedapple greeted him. He offered a purr and rubbed against her softly. "Yeah... He didnt want it until i was going to take it back to camp... Sure... look for its mom... but i figured let Stonebelly look at it... get something in its stomach..." He huffed.

Brightstar just nodded along letting everyone talk it out. She agreed finding the kits parents was problem number one... but also... what to do with this kit was a problem too... they really couldnt afford another mouth to feed.... That being said there was a part of her who agreed with timberfall... their borders were marked for a reason, their clan was large and with all the new kittypets that joined... the territory was taxed... any trespass was cause for concern... so if timberfall had indeed warned the tom... he shouldnt have come over. Brightstar looked between the gathered cats and tried not to sigh. Was a battle really what everyone wanted?! She glanced to Thornslash taking comfort from the toms even headedness. Brightstar looked to Sparrowflight. "Who started it?" She twitched her tail, "You were here, who is to blame for the fighting right now? If you can definitively say it was Foxfur and Timberfall is completely blameless... then i will declare war where i stand... but from what timberfall himself said... he knew he was going too far." She shook her head. "Starclan always has their will. Do not worry there." Brightstar made note of Blackstone who had come along. What a brave cat for a former kittypet... she would keep an eye on them for sure.

Timberfall didnt move much just huffed at Ravensnatch. "Its not like i was looking for this fight...." He nodded. "Right! Trespassing is trespassing!!!" HE stood up as Shadowstar looked down to Ravensnatch. He and Ravensnatch together could fight the leader....He was bristling when Brightstar fixed him a piercing look.


Brightstar looked to Shadowstar. "They arent wrong, especially with leafbare on us now, even a cat walking can scare valuable prey to ground... best to stay to our own territories, but perhaps this was a bit of an extreme response.... right Timberfall?" Timberfall just flicked his tattered ear.

The siblings Oakfire and Cedarfang were sitting in the Lightening clan camp keeping each other warm while discussion where on the territory would be the best place to hunt. Both cats jumped to their paws as Sparrowflight came running into the camp.

Lightening Clan
Cedarfang's heart dropped as he heard Sparrowflight's words. He was moving towards the entrance of the camp before Brightstar even had the chance to call the warriors to her. There was no question, Cedarfang was headed to the boarder with the others. If there was a fight, he was going to help defend his clansmates. Before he left, he turned to look at Oakfire. He nodded to her and followed Brightstar and the others out to the boarder.

Once at the boarder, Cedarfang tried to put himself between as many of his clansmates and Riverclan as possible. He didn't say anything but instead eyed the Riverclan cats and watched the events unfold. Both clans had gathered many cats but as it was, there didn't seem to be any current need for a fight. The lone kit did raise many questions. Cedarfang waited for the kit to respond and stayed on high alert.

Lightening Clan
Oakfire stood but held her ground. Hearing about the fight, she nodded to her brother. She knew he was headed to the boarder to try and fend off whatever their clan was fighting, be it predator or other cats.

"Go," She said as her brother looked back at her. "I'll stay here and protect the camp just in case something or someone get's past you." Knowing the boarder would be safe with Cedarfang being there, Oakfire took a few steps towards the entrance of the camp and hunkered down to keep watch until the other warriors returned. Nothing was going to get into the camp, not on her watch. With so many new cat's that couldn't protect themselves still, she felt better staying behind to watch the camp.

Lightening Clan
Hawkclaw lept up and followed the other warriors out of the camp. Sure, he didn't fight as well as some of the others, but he could defend himself well enough. There was no way he was going to stay behind and miss all the action! A fight on the boarder, how exciting! As his clan rushed to the boarder, his heart pounded in his ears. Once they reached the boarder, he sat towards the back, his hopes for action dashed by the two clan leaders trying to reign in their clans.

Oakfire, Stormsong, Palewhisper, and Shortstep are back at the Lightening Clan camp and are free for interaction!

Bearpaw spooked a bird and all it left was its feather, does bearpaw want to keep it?!

Flamedapple returned his purr with a brief lick. "It's ok now." she whispered to him, trying to get him to calm. She glanced back between Brightstar and Shadowstar. "He has a point. This kitten at least needs looking at and food if we can spare it, if not a home." she mrrowed, hoping it would talk sense into either leader but it seemed Brightstar was almost itching for a fight and this made her ears fall flat against her head in worry. She glanced back at the kitten, the motherly desire causing her to wish Silverstreak wasn't there in that present moment. She didn't want to hurt a potential friend but she already had kittens... she was already experienced....why hadn't she gotten there quicker? A frustrated small growl escaped her.


Wildflower hissed at Brightstar's words, ignoring her leader's one small order for the time being. "Already she barks for war! Whose to say Lightningclan didn't set all this up to begin with! They have so many new kittypets they probably think we wont know any better of them not knowing it! By Starclan, they probably can't even tell them all apart themselves!" she hissed again her tail bristling, however for the time being she remained where she was. Begrudgingly.

Russetstorm growled this time, but softly. He reached out and bapped Wildflower across the ears. "Settle down, our leader gave firm orders!" he sighed and shook his head, glancing briefly to his leader before opening his mouth again. He had to admit, Wildflower might not be too far offtrack. "I don't think this is some outrageous scheme. But honestly Brightstar, of course your own clan would accuse us first without hesitation. Bearpaw was also present during the start of the scuffle, as was Wildstripe and Goldenleaf. It's hardly fair to declare war on one accusation alone." he eyed the Lightningclan leader, respecting she was powerful but otherwise in this present moment she was a potential enemy for a fight itching to erupt.

Cracklestreak was grooming himself under a patch of sunlight when Bearpaw came through the camp screaming on the top of his lungs for Shadowstar. So much for his afternoon nap and grooming session he had planned. 'And I was just getting comfortable too....' Rolling his eyes, Cracklestreak slowly rose and padded his way through the grounds towards Shadowstar and Bearpaw and the commotion the apprentice has caused. 'Curious...' With that Cracklestreak watched the two leave before making his way to the border.

Lazy as he was, he managed to reach the the scuffle (or lack therefore) and noted a female cat with a kitten held protectively within her paws. "Interesting, a kitten not of either clan..." he muttered under his breath, eyeing the rest of the cats around him and to that of the Lightningclan. A few paces back from the main foray as it were, he listened to both leaders argue (or what he deems as arguing) about who the kit belongs to. Never interfering, just listening. Watching. With tail swishing slowly back and forth, Cracklestreak smiled somewhat serenely.

Who were these Lightning clan cats? Even Brightstat was acting out of character. They were all one clan not even a season ago! Jumping right to war? Really? While she was working on a diplomatic answer, Wildflower tried to inflame the situation. "Wildflower!" She snapped at the Deputy for throwing leaves on a fire they were trying to keep from burning.

It was Russetstorm reprimanding her deputy that allowed her to turn her attention back to the issue at paw.

Trying to speak sense she pointed out, "Both Codes allow cats to cross borders for messages and Riverclan is required to let cats cross our borders to go to the moonpool. Jumping right to starting a fight over just a paw is the definition of foolish! No one tried to hunt in the other territory, correct?" A few facts were left out, including that Forestclan Code allowed for violating borders and hunting in other territories.


"We were all one clan a season ago." That was directed right at Timberfall, "Attacking at the first transgression isn't like any of us. An actual war would weaken us all during leaf-bare. Injured or worse warriors can't hunt for food and more resources would be needed to care for them." Any battle would see both sides hurt, badly.

She could take half the cats there by herself but that wasn't the outcome she wanted.

"This isn't like any of us." That ended with her looking right at Brightstar. How was this the same leader that allowed rockclan to live with her clan for so long? The wise and tolerant leader who would have allowed Flamedapple to say good bye? Was there something in the water over on Lightningclan's side?

If Riverclan acted the same way to a Lightning clan cat going to the Moonpool, just how would she feel?

"We will take in the kit," That wasn't a threat, she didn't step near Silverstreak, just agreed with Brightstar to take in the kit. Her clan wasn't over run with kittypets and kits. Flamedapple would do well to care for the little thing for as long as needed.

Lightningclan
Autumnriver’s ears perked up a bit as he turned to look towards Brightstar and the others of his clan. He was there as well. He knew what had happened. In his opinion, this kit belonged someone that wasn’t Riverclan or Lightningclan. He glanced as Flamedapple. He could tell she wanted the kit. If she had gotten there first and not Silverstreak, then the kit would have been hers. He would stay where he was, between Silverstreak and any other cat that would try to take the kit. Incase fighting did break out, then he would give Silverstreak time to get the kit to the safety of their home. He hoped it wouldn’t come to that.

Lightningclan
Honeyberry arrived at the scene. She wasn’t as fast as the other, not yet. So her arrival was a bit slow. She huffed as she looked around. There was so much she needed to learn about living in the wild. She wanted to learn, to grow so she could be jut as good as any other cat. She stayed closer to the back so she wouldn’t be in the way. She crept closer to Blackstone. They had both been pets to the twolegs. She had hoped it was okay to get closer to her. “What’s going on?” she asked, keeping her voice low.

Petalnose stood there listening, but at the idea of war he couldn't help but step forward. "Brightstar!" He exclaimed, surprised and bewildered. "I'm as opposed to trespassing as any other, but are you truly going to start a war over a border scuffle and a kit?" He asked, he couldn't help but agree with shadowstars sense. "She's right! It'll do nothing but hurt our clan. Are you going to condemn every cat in your clan and theres because two acted foolishly?" He asked. It didn't sound like a challenge or as though he was angry, more surprised and almost worried. He would follow his leader to war, and he really didn't want to.

Loner

It had been awhile since Split had interacted with any of the clan cats. He was surprised to have recently found another loner wandering around away from both clan territories. As he trotted through the woods, he was surprised once again to come across the scent of another cat. Not just a cat, a kitten. Wait, what?

Split sniffed the earth around him, trying to pick out the smell. The scent of the kitten was fading but definitely there. Strange, there didn't seem to be any other smells. No scent of a queen or clan cats. What was a kitten doing way out here by itself? Split scuffed, not my problem he thought. But as he continued walking, a feeling nagged at him. What if it had gotten in trouble? What if a predator was after it? How could a kitten survive out here on it's own?

After a few moments of debate, the loner tom decided to follow the scent and find out what had happened to the poor thing. He grumbled to himself the whole time. What was he doing to do if he found it? Take it in? Hardly. He was not cut out for taking care of kittens, or other cats for that matter. No, he would make sure it's okay, possibly return it to it's mother, and then leave.

The scent of many cat's pulled him from his thoughts. He looked up to realize he was familiar with this area, it was the boarder of the clans. The kitten had walked straight into the clan boarders! Having been attacked by clan cats before without being questioned first, Split feared for the kitten. The clans wouldn't attack a helpless kitten.... would they? Uuuugh, he groaned internally, this was the worst day ever.

After another quick internal debate on whether he should get involved or not, Split took a deep breath and followed the kittens scent once more. He moved slowly, cautiously. The scent was getting stronger and so were the smells of the clan cats. So many smells, so many cats. Then he heard them. Voices shouting about who was to care for the kitten. A thought crossed his mind, a thought he couldn't shake. Had the clans done something to the kittens family? Attacked the queen without question like they had done to him? Had they killed this poor kittens family? And now they were fighting over who was going to take in the orphaned kit?

Hate seethed out of him. He wasn't sure if he had been smelled or noticed yet as there was so much going on but he decided to step forth.

"That kitten doesn't belong to either of your stupid clans and it shouldn't have to go with either of you. It should go back into the unclaimed lands with me." His voice was bold, filled with his usual annoyance and anger. What was he doing?! He didn't want to take in a kitten... But he didn't want the clans to have it either.

Petalnoses quick spout of courage as he spoke to Brightstar was dashed away in seconds as a loner appeared from seemingly nowhere. He turned quickly to face it, his eyes going back and pinning to his head before he began to relax. "Are you this kits father?" He sounded hopeful. If they found the kittens parent then there would be no more fighting! The kitten would go and all cats would be happy! Right?
