Mea heard Rosa's warning just a second too late. He was more focused on the fact that she said the bats were probably real! Where did they even find that many bats?! His Nain had a bat hotel behind her greenhouse, so maybe the school did too... if so, he'd have to look for it! After his frantically signed apology, Aina seemed more interested in the bats. Mea signed the word "up", then tilted his head back to look upward to the ceiling. Fluttering around the floating candles were the bats, seemingly in a graceful dance.
He asked about candy, which seemed to fall on deaf ears.... literally... until Alice kindly repeated the words. Thankfully, it was no harm done as Aina had also gotten distracted with the bats. She did, however, want to go get candy as well. "We should. I bet they got the super yummy candies. At least it's not as bad as my neighbor at home. He gave out fruit!" His voice got a little louder at the indignation of the old man giving out healthy treats... even if he was a doctor! Mea watched her sign about makeup, not really caring too much. He knew his Mums wore makeup, but he didn't have much inclination to do the same. Then she complimented their spidery outfits. Mea grinned brightly as he signed, his loud voice adding emphasis to the motions. "Thanks! It was a lot of ideas before we picked this one. Like. a LOT of ideas. Took us ages!" He laughed, remembering the whole family trying to offer costume ideas. Including Grampa Milo, but his were aaaaaaaaaall pun themed. Thankfully, Lewis humored him so Mea and Rosa didn't have to.
When one of the other kids, he thought her about Alice and Seb's age, walked over, Mea fiddled with his ears to try and hear her super quiet voice before immediately needing to turn them back down. How did hearing people deal with all this noise all the time?! It was chaotic as all get out. He looked over at his cousin, seeing her expression and wondering if she was holding back a screech. Apparently Ella's princess costume was something super fancy, so Mea offered a smile toward the girl. How was it that she was older by a couple years at least, yet he was already her height? Oh no... were the Abramses heights contagious?

Ella immediately worried about the business of the Great Hall. Perhaps she should have chosen a quieter locale? Alice said she was gorgeous, prompting the smaller brunette to blush. Rosa agreed, saying she looked like actual royalty! Oh wow, maybe Ella did feel a little better about her outfit choice! "Thank you guys..." she whispered, voice a little softer than even her normal. Alice again commented on Ella's dress, so the brunette figured she'd add in more information. "Thank you! Linsey made the dress based on a picture I drew up. A-and Milan had his friend make the tiara too. All just for me."
Now that was something she still couldn't believe. So many people had helped with this outfit.. all for her! The hints of gold sparkled in her dark eyes as Ella carefully lifted up the skirt of her dress and did a little twirl. Doing that showed off the shimmers in the fabric, making her feel even fancier. "That's like... the fanciest dress ever, Ells! It also looks super itchy!" Sebastian added, laughing merrily. "Oh, d-don't worry. The inside is a silk, I think? Something nice." She nodded, still really happy that everyone seemed to like her outfit. "Oh, Sebastian, do you know who is doing pictures today? I-I told my family I would get some for them." If any of her friends would know, he would. She didn't notice him wrinkle his nose at her choice of name for him, but he did fish out his camera from the bag he'd brought along with him. "I'm one of them! Eddie's got his camera too, I'm sure. Just don't know where he's at..."

When Ella asked who was doing pictures and Seb answered that he was, Alice smiled widely. She already knew Sebby was doing pictures, but she definitely needed to get her picture taken too. "Ooh, I need my picture too! And you need yours! Momma would love to see your outfit!" Alice was practically squealing with delight. This was her first real Halloween celebration so far and she was loving it. Aina seemed to be engrossed in her conversation with Meallan and Rosa and the girl felt alright leaving her with them. "Alright Sebby, get Ella's pictures first since she asked. Then me and I'll get pictures of you. Then maybe Ella can take pictures of us together?" She phrased the last bit as a question, turning to look over at the girl in question. Alice did want some pictures of them together and she did want them all together... but they'd have to find someone else to take that picture... Unless Sebby knew of a way that she didn't to make the camera take a picture of all three of them.

It was time for the Halloween celebration and Vikram was jazzed about his costume for the whole shindig. He'd decided to dress up like Prince Charming, since in his mind, it fit with his whole... everything, really. He went all out with the costume preparation over the summer, ordering most of the items online and having them shipped expedited to make sure they arrived ahead of time. The teen spent a fair bit of time in preparing his costume, making sure that everything looked correct. His shoes were properly shined, his buttons and crown sparkled, and everything sat correct. He even made sure that the cape he'd chosen to add sat right, adjusting it several times in front of the mirror before he even dared to leave the dorm. He tapped the scepter on the ground as he walked, a wide smile gracing his lips as he simply enjoyed the walk. Of course the costume was all a pun in his mind, since his Cinderella wouldn't be dressing up the same as him, he knew. Also, she didn't know she was his Cinderella... there was that... But whatever, he was still going to enjoy the time and plus, free candy! He was a teenager, after all, and as a teenager, any chance for candy was to be snapped up. Striding into the Great Hall, he spotted many of his friends, but most of them were caught up in their own conversations. The teen strode over to the food table to peruse the drink options and perhaps sneak a little something into his own punch glass. Brown eyes shifted to observe the gathered students, wondering if his Cinderella was even going to make an appearance at tonight's... ball.

Okay, so most holidays were... boring, but there was one specific one that Csuri didn't mind. She didn't like dressing up, but she did like getting free chocolates. Of course, the only way to get them from the professors would likely be to dress up, which was .... less than ideal. Having finished a new steampunk sci-fi series, Gears of Volcania, over the summer, Csuri made sure to locate some pieces that would work. No one would get her outfit, except maybe like two others in the school that read similar books, but whatever.
The only downside to this outfit was that she'd have to forgo her usual skirts for jeans, which was probably going to annoy her all night. Then again, she really only anticipated showing up for exactly as long as it took to secure candy. Hes, she knew, was planning to spend the evening with Kasamir, meaning Csuri would likely be alone the whole time. Not like she wanted to third-wheel anyway. She pulled her boots on, stomping around a bit to get used to the heels. They were a bit higher than her daily, but definitely doable.
After she deemed herself ready, Csuri put on her hat and headed out. She was a little late, but that just meant the common room was mostly empty, save for a few odd souls who seemed more interested in studies than candy... fair. She hoped to be back and joining them within the hour. Honestly, if it weren't for the possibility of chocolate, she never would consider something like this. With a sigh, she left the dungeons and started into the danger. Waving a simple hello toward Hes as she passed by, Csuri walked into the... surprisingly not as busy as expected Great Hall. Now she just had to infiltrate the candy stash. First, she slipped over to one of the tables, grabbing a bat-shaped chocolate cookie.
