Liam's eyes widened. Was he wearing his emotions on his sleeves this whole time? His face softened into a smile. "Well, thank you Renci. You got a good soul for doing that for others. We need more people like you." He chuckled softly. Liam was used to hearing flattery and such during his shifts but the fact she brought him a soda even though it was a joke really showed how sincere she was. He did still feel a touch bad for taking advantage of her for a free drink.

Liam nodded along. "You're not wrong, strong teas are soothing. And really? I mean, you definitely can't beat the vibes of a coffee shop." He looked around and saw a couple small groups of people huddled around the store, talking amongst each. Laughing and chuckling could be heard over the calming lofi music playing through the speakers. "I can definitely try to find you a good cup of coffee you would like. Don't worry about paying for this one. Since we're experimenting with this one is on me. Makes me feel better about taking a free drink from you." He chuckled before pausing. Man, he was chuckling a lot around her. Was he flirting with her? Did Donald mess with his head and heart that much. He scratched his head. Maybe he needed a distraction to get his mind off of him.

Time to brainstorm on what Renci would enjoy. She wanted something weak and sweet. Usually, lattes are a safe bet, but Renci might have tried the regular ones already. He may need to modify how he makes coffee to do a weaker brew. Some chocolate melted in would add a good amount of sweetness. He could do a mocha like that.

Liam took a second to gather a few things since this will be a very quick drink to brew. He went over to the electric grinder and adjusted the grind size and tamped the grounds down before locking it into place in the machine. He placed a large square from the chocolate bar used for hot chocolates on top of the espresso pitcher so as the shot was pulled, it'll melt the chocolate for him. As the machine hummed to life, he started frothing some whole milk. Once the metal frothing pitcher heated up enough, he pulled it away. Quickly, he cleaned the steam wand before pulling down a mug at random. He drizzled some chocolate syrup into before splashing in the chocolatey espresso shot. He gave the frothing pitcher a couple good taps before tilting it where only the milk poured into the cup. Liam paused and jiggled the pitcher to readjust the content before tilted it again. This time the foam eased out and laid on top of the drink. He finished the drink off with some cocoa powder sprinkled over the foam milk. He took a second to scribble his number on a napkin before walking over to the bar, where Renci was waiting.

"Here we go, Renci. A specially made Mocha for you. I did a weak espresso extraction for you and added more chocolate to it. I hope you enjoy it! Don't forget to stir!" He placed the napkin under the mug and slid it over to her before bowing his head. "And if you end up not liking it, I can get you a cup of Earl Grey." He gave her another smile before walking back over to the register, where a customer was waiting. Was he crazy for giving a stranger his number? Maybe a little. But she seems like a really nice woman. He wouldn't mind getting to know her better. Maybe meet up outside of his work. But for now, he needs to focus on work.

At his comment about needing more people like her, all she could do was smile, blush, gently bite her bottom lip as she looked down at the floor, and tuck the left side of her hair behind her ear. She never expected to get such a compliment from him. She was so flattered that she couldn’t even manage a thank you. He had left her speechless with only a few words.

She looked back up when she heard him speak on the tea and vibes of the shop and followed his gaze as he looked around. “It can be difficult when you work from home. It’s nice that I’m in my own space, but sometimes you want to be around people. Not necessarily office people because good lord their drama,” she gave small chuckle at that as she continued, “But, somewhere nice where it’s not overly loud or crazy.” She wanted to include somewhere nice where she could look at his face and be in his presence all day but she figured that would be coming on too strong. She would save those words for a later date. “Well, not crazy for me. I’m sure it’s a different story from your side of things. Especially being a manager” She gave a smile, remembering the urgent thing from her first visit that required them to close down immediately.

She gave the biggest, most cheerful smile when he agreed to take on her request of him making her a coffee. She reeled back the utter excitement she felt before her bright eyes started to actually glow. It was a dead giveaway of how intense her emotions were. Overly angry? Eye’s light up. Overly happy? Eye’s light up. On the opposite side, when she overly down or depressed, they would lose the glow and instead appear dim like there wasn’t a light behind them at all. She gave a soft laugh, not wanting to interrupt the other customers with her excitement, when he said it would be on him. “Okay, done deal”. She loved hearing him chuckle. She loved seeing him smile. He appeared to be happier than earlier. This made her heart glad as it beat softly just for him. How could anyone do anything wrong to such a creature. Her eyes softened as she thought about how perfect he is. Looks? Yes. Attitude? Yes. Personality? From what she’s seen, yes. Vulnerable? She didn’t too much care about that. She could take care of him in anyway he needed. That thought brought up the issue of Donald again. I do need to take care of him, she thought. But, for right now she would enjoy being around Liam.

When he started working on her coffee, she took a seat on a stool at the counter. She had a hard time taking her eyes off of him as he moved about behind the counter, but she needed to get a little work done at least. Type a sentence, send an email. Something. She had a whole report that was due in a couple of days and she had yet to really work on it due to extra-curricular activities. With a mental sigh, she pulled out her laptop and got to work. It didn’t take much for her to get sucked into answering emails that made no sense at all and having to do other peoples tasks because they were lazy. Sure, they said it was because she was so competent but she learned to see through that nonsense quickly. Before she knew, Liam was there with her cup of coffee. “You can call me Ceecee, or Cee…or whatever you prefer. I’m used to answering to a multitude of nicknames.” She smiled at this, not minding it at all. Her mind automatically put the voice with the name at this point. There were so many beings in the Unseelie Court. The more powerful ones that ran different sectors called you what they wanted, and you had better answer and not make them say it again. Did it matter that you had heard it for the first time and had no clue of who the hell they were referring to? Nope. How dare you not be able to read their mind. Even if you could, you would get in trouble for reading their mind. It wasn’t a nice or pleasant place to grow up in, but it was that which made her who she was today. One who could manipulate and assassinate with the blink of an eye and not think twice about it. She didn’t need Liam knowing that right now though so she would continue to be the gentle girl he was interacting with. “Thank you,” she said as he slid the mug over. She stirred the mixture as instructed and took a sip. All she could do was pause as she let the liquid soak into every taste bud on her tongue, looking down at it in shock. It was so good! She swallowed what was in her mouth and took another joyous sip. This is when she noticed the number written on the napkin. She picked it up then looked over to Liam, who was heading back to the register. Was this his number? He had given her his number? Play cool. Keep it cool, she thought to herself. She took the napkin and folded it in half before laying it on the keyboard of the computer. “This is really good!” she exclaimed, as she looked in his direction. Not too much of an exclamation, but enough for a compliment. “You, sir, are a master at your craft. First coffee I’ve ever liked. You deserve a medal.” She thought about that for a second before shaking her head. “No, lets be honest. You should have nothing short of a star on the Hollywood Walk of fame.” She gently smiled at him, given her theatrics.

A few minutes had passed and she was more than halfway through the cup when she looked at her laptop, realizing what time it was. Her eyes went wide as she gave a soft “s**t”, said under her breath, at herself, and finished off the coffee. She packed her laptop quickly, removing the napkin before closing it, as she stood, threw it into the bag and hung the strap over her shoulder. “Thank you for the wonderful coffee,” she said to Liam as she started walking backwards toward the door. “I have to go, but I’ll see you later.” She held up the folded napkin that had his number on it. She gave him a big smile as she opened the door by walking backwards to push it open then turning to take her leave.

She rushed to her car and got inside. At this point she allowed herself to lose all of her cool. “OH MY GOD! HE GAVE ME HIS NUMBER!” She kicked her feet before happily sinking down in her seat as she looked over the napkin again. “YES!” She planted her face into the napkin before bringing it to where she could see it again. Now that she got that out of her system, she secured his number in the center console before opening up her trusty magical screen. “Where are you Donald, you little ' I love you' p***k.”

Liam could hear Renci proclaim how good the drink is. It made him feel better. He was happy to provide that level of service for her. When he heard the Hollywood Walk of Fame comment, he laughed a bit as he punched in an order. That was definitely over the top but maybe she really has been trying hard to find ways to enjoy coffee and he proved to her it wasn't a lost cause.

After a bit he heard her shuffling about as she scooted backwards out the shop. "Thank you for coming! See you around Ceecee!" He called out to her, waving as she darted out the window. He wondered where she was off to in such a hurry. Maybe it was work related, he did see her laptop out. He went back to making the coffee for the customer.

Once the customer grabbed their coffee and walked away, Liam took the empty mug Renci used and washed it out. Did he come on too strong with the clique number on the napkin trick? No, it couldn't be. She waved it around as she left. Maybe she was trying to tell him that she noticed it and had it even though she rushed out the door.

It was no used in fretting about it now. The action is in the past; she has his number. All he needed to do was work and check his phone afterwards to see if she texted him. God, he hopes she texts him because then he wouldn't have felt like such a silly fool. He rolled his eyes and sarcastically thanked Donald for ******** over his brain today.

---------

Donald skateboarded down the sidewalk, full of energy. Man, the day after sex was always the best thing. Everything seemed so much brighter, the smells so much more pleasant. It was like the world thanked him for his service. And he'll be the first to admit, he enjoys providing that service. To anyone. He whistled out a tune as he took the usual path to an apparel shop that was targeted to alternative skaters.

He shouldered the front door open and walked to the back. Winking and smiling at a female employee he slept with a few times. She blushed and smiled back at him. Has he reached the lockers, his phone chimed.

'Hey wink Got plans 2nite?'

It was Jenny, the girl he just winked at. Oh, he got a real good feeling where this was going.

'No but I think I do now 🍆🍩'

'I got on da pill, don't need ******** yeah! Raw dogging it tonight. This sounds like an epic deal. Getting himself wet two nights in a row? The Gods have shone upon his most prized possession, what's in his pants.

He stored his skateboard away and pinned his nametag to his shirt before stepping out on the sales floor. Jenny came skipping up to him. She wore a low-cut crop top. The shirt he said he liked because he could see her cleavage so well. And this girl played it to her advantage, using her arms to push them up more for him. His eyes locked on to her chest, smiling.

"So, Donny." She purred out to him, batting her lashes. "I got the camera set up. Wanna post this one too?"

"
"Hehehe, yeah he does. Best package that's been delivered to me. The views on those videos agree too."

Donald moved closer to her as she bit her lip. If it's a slow day, he could do a warmup round with her in the back loading dock. He figured out the cameras don't point in one of the corners and usually a tower of palates was leaned up there, shield the two of them completely. They've done it a couple times during company time. She was the wildest girl he liked to hit up because she often preferred public places and risky areas. The thought of it got his blood pumping. So what if he gets caught, let them enjoy the show. s**t, they could even join in if they were hot.

Speaking of hot. The purple hair chick that came into the coffee shop last night has a smoking hot body. He would love to unwrap that. All he needed to do is figure out her personality. Any girl was easy for him if he understands which approach to take.

"Come home with me. I'll keep you entertained. During your break, while we wait for the bus, in the lobby of my apartment building. Wherever and, however. And then we got a film to shoot."

"Perfect. You know how to keep my attention. "

---------

Liam clocked out and stepped out from around the counter. "Alright, Jacob. I got a text from Alex. The bus is running twenty minutes behind, but he is on his way. You think you can handle it?"

Jacob leaned against the counter, with his chin in his hand. "Yeah. Man, last night was a bust. Rebecca didn't even show up. The hell man... Alex is getting an earful from me. Couldn't find him last night. Bet he hid. Coward."

"Hey, no fighting while on the clock. Okay? You do that away from the store."

Jacob clicked his tongue and checked his phone. "Whatever."

"No whatevers. I need to know you can handle the store alone for twenty minutes. "

"Yeah, I can. It's baby's work."

"Yeah, a baby that burns the milk often. Use the thermometer when you froth milk tonight."

"Okay, man. Just go already."

Liam scrunched up his face. Man, Jacob was in a piss poor mood today. Was he that excited for the potential of sleeping with Rebecca? Poor guy. He shook his head. "Well, text me if you need anything." He waved and stepped out the door. Today was band practice, something he looked forwarded to. He picked up the pace to get to his place sooner. There he picked up his guitar case and slung it over his shoulder. He also picked up a protein bar and water bottle before dashing back out. With a quick check of his phone, he noticed the bus will be swinging by in a few minutes. Awesome, he is making wonderful time.

'Hey, omw'

He sent the text out to Blake and a few second later his phone chimed.

'Blake said sick, door unlocked.'

That must be Yasmine texting for them. They could be playing a video game or setting up the amps.

--

After waiting four hours at Blake's apartment, Yasmine yelled out in frustration. "Why do you guys keep this man? He isn't answering any of our texts or calls. Everything goes straight to voicemail. It's obvious what he flakes on us for another dumb ******** booty call. Blake, just kick him out already."

Blake plucked at the string of their bass before looking up at their girlfriend. "It's not that simple. We grew up with him. We're sorta stuck with him."

"You're the only one that thinks that way. He blows us off often. He only thinks about himself." Yasmine protested. "Don't you think, Liam?"

Liam scratched his head. "Ah. I mean, he does think of himself, but he does pull through when we need him."

"Dude, Yasmine's right. He's a shitty friend." Viktor calmly interjected from the couch as he button mashed on a controller. The latest fighting game played on screen. He was wiping the floor with whatever poor soul got matched with him.

"See?" Yasmine whined, her arms flew out to display Viktor between them.

Liam lit up a cigarette and walked over the window, opening it and leaning against the wall. "It's just hard to dump an old friend like that."

The match on the screen ended and Viktor rotated to look at him. "Liam, let me level with you. This man uses you. He doesn't care about your feelings or wellbeing. If you got sick, he would kick your a** to the curb. It's not like yall share feelings or anything."

Liam flinched and stiffened up, quickly shoving the cigarette into his mouth to take a long drawn out drag from it.

"Oh. My. God. Liam?!" Viktor slowly sounded out in shock.

"Wait, what? Liam, what happened?" Yasmine briskly sped walked over to him, her hand gently rested on his arm in a sisterly soothing way.

"Heh. Did you confess to the b***h and that's why he isn't here?" Blake coldly said.

Liam slowly exhaled, the smoke being sucked outside as a breeze passed by. He shook his head.

Viktor's eyes widen, quickly understanding the situation. Blake clicked their tongue and walked into their room. Yasmine looked between everyone; the point flew over her head.

"Wait, if you didn't confess. What's so weird now?"

"Yasmine." Liam looked down at her big, doey eyes. "He confessed."

"Wait, isn't that a good thing? Yall are official now!" She clapped softly. Blake came back out with a bong and lighter. The bowl was already packed. They sat down next to Viktor and lit up. As they exhaled, they passed it to Viktor, who quickly accepted it and took a long hit.

"Pookie." Blake said. Still so odd to hear the monotoned, stoic Blake say pet names, but Yasmine loved it. "Think hard on this one. Has Donald ever settled on one person?"

Yasmine's shoulder drooped as it dawned on her. Yeah, sure, Donald confessed but that was just another way to manipulate Liam's feelings more. He took another drag from his cigarette. He believed his friend's words last night. They were real. He started to chew on the inside of his lip.

"Liam, take a hit." Viktor passed the bong to him.

"Thanks." Liam took it. The bong bubbled as he inhaled the smoke. He placed the bowl back into the base as he exhaled. "Yasmine, want a hit?"

She hesitated but took the bong. "Just one for me. I need to relax." Blake cheered as Yasmine took a rip.

Viktor stood up to give the couch to Yasmine, who quickly took it and snuggled up to her partner. Liam took another drag from his cigarette as Viktor approached him. "Hey, you're smoking that coffin nail like you have a funeral in the morning. Why don't we chill." His voice lowered so the pair on the couch couldn't overhear them. Doesn't matter anyways, they were locked in a conversation that involved flirting. "Listen, what Donald did was real ******** up. Okay? He shouldn't have played you like that."

"Viktor. His confession was real."

"But?"

"He said he doesn't want to settle down yet."

"And that's expected of him. Dude only thinks with one head." Viktor made a quick jerk off motion to indicate which head he was referring to. He leaned in and lowered his voice some more. "Do you want me to erase that memory for you?"

Liam shook his head as he finished off his cigarette. Ashing it into a potted plant near the window. Hopefully, Yasmine didn't see him do that. "I appreciate the offer though."

"Anytime, I owe you my life. You've done so much for me, and I want to make sure you're taken care of. Why don't we head out and go to that vampire club I told you about. They serve human food and drinks there." He pointed a thumb behind him to the two lovebirds making out on the couch. "They need some alone time anyways. C'mon." Viktor guided Liam out and to his car. "Trust me, all you need to do is get out there and meet someone nice. Exchange numbers and have them over. Yknow?"

"Actually, I already gave someone my number today. At work."

"No s**t. Really?" Viktor smiled as he drove them to downtown where a lot of supernatural bars were located. "What are they like?"

"Well, she seems really sweet. She even brought me a soda after I jinxed her."

Viktor laughed. "Awesome, dude! I'm real happy to hear. Has she contacted you back yet?"

Liam looked down at his phone. "No, she did rush out of the shop shortly afterwards. Maybe I creeped her out."

"Naw, man. Just sounds like she's busy. Give her a couple more days. You'll see. If she doesn't, don't worry, you got the best wingman on this side of Zanii to back you up."

"Thanks for being my best friend, Vik."

"s**t, I should be saying that to you."

The pair arrived at the newest vampire club. Viktor's status allowed Liam to pass through without any issues. Normally humans aren't allowed inside. This was a safe haven for sups. They sat down at the bar and ordered their drinks. Viktor got some 0 negative poured up and served as the bartender started on Liam's Gin and Tonic.

As he sipped from his glass, he looked out on the dance floor. So many bodies moved to the beat of the music. Luckily, it was quiet over by the bar, but he could tell the music was loud.

Purple hair flowing by caught his attention as he turned to look. Was Renci here? But just as quickly as he saw the figure, it just disappeared into the crowd.

"You good, man?" Viktor tapped his shoulder.

"Yeah, I thought I saw that girl I told you about. The napkin girl."

"For real? Here?" Viktor spun around and sipped his blood, his eyes scanning. "Purple short hair, right?"

"Yeah."

The two of them stood up and walked the edge of the dance floor, scanning each face that passed them.

She watched Donald on her screen for a bit, coming in at the part about getting a camera set up. “God, what a whore,” she said, giving her opinion on the girl who was talking with Donald. Does this guy just surround himself with large breasted women who act like they’re trying to sell their body? Well, she guessed the one at the coffee shop wasn’t his doing. Or maybe she was. She couldn’t really say but also didn’t really care. As for the camera, she was confused by this, her face scrunching up as she tilted her head. His ultimate spank bank? Was he talking about porn? What the ******** was going on here. She continued to be confused until Donal moved closer to the girl as she bit her lip. Her face went from being confused to shocked and surprised. She knew he wasn’t worth the ground he stood on but she figured he has some type of morale. “Really!? You vile ******** dog!” How could he make such a move after what he said to Liam. She closed the screen down as she ran a hand through her hair. “You are ******** slime! You love Liam?” She had to laugh at that as she shook her head. “You wouldn’t know what love was if it fell from a roof and hit you square in your head.” Then she thought about Liam. How sad and disappointed would he be to see Donald acting in such a way. That thought broke her heart. He didn’t deserve to be treated like that. “Oh Liam. I’m so sorry. It will okay. I’ll be there for you…always”

She inhaled a deep breath then let it out slowly as she put her car in gear and headed home. She didn’t have time to take care of Donald right now. But tomorrow was another night. As for now, she needed to get her work done. Once she made it home, she pulled into the garage and closed the door. She went in through the garage entrance which led to the foyer, which then led to the living room. She bypassed it and the kitchen to make her way down to the basement where she had her computers set up. Her gaming computer on one side and her work station on the other. She plugged her laptop in so that it would display on the large monitors and she could use her wireless keyboard and mouse. Just as soon as she sat down, she got a random call over Teams.

“What is it Nathan?” the annoyance could be heard in her voice. She was sick and tired of him riding her back.

“Do you have the report yet?” It was Nathan. She didn’t answer to him but he was a manager…just not hers. He worked in the department that reviewed all of the reports for correctness and completion before having them finalized and filed.

“No, I don’t. It’s not due until end of business tomorrow. Why are you on my a** about this?” she out right asked . This was the third call she had gotten from him.

“It’s one of the company’s biggest ventures. You should know this. They want to know that everything is copacetic”
His annoyed tone matching hers.

They want to know that everything is copacetic, she thought mockingly to herself. “Well they will know once I submit my report. Now if you don’t mind, you’re taking up valuable time that I could be working on it” God, he annoyed her so much. She never turned her camera on unless requested to do so. He wasn’t able to see the agitated face she was making and how she rolled her eyes at his every word.

“Haven’t you already been disciplined about your tone with speaking with coworkers”

Oh, really? He wanted to go that route? “Yea and last I knew that was thrown out of the window when I explained how people were being a pain in the a** for no reason at all just because I wasn’t working to their standards. You know what, Nathan, if you have a problem then take it up with my manager” At that, she ended the call…then waited for her manager to call

Not even a minute later she received a call from Evelyn. “Hi Evelyn” Her tone was much more pleasant than the one she had with Nathan. She liked Evelyn as she also didn’t put up with anyone’s s**t.

“Hi Ceecee, I got a call from Nathan. Is everything okay?”

She rolled her eyes when she mentioned Nathan. “It’s fine. He’s just bugging me and I don’t appreciate it. I told him the report will be submitted on time. He insists that it be returned in right now.”

“I think you have spoiled him with the speed which you usually turn reports around” she gave a small chuckle as Renci usually liked to have her plate clean a free of tasks. “I understand his position, however. They’re on his back about it so he’s just pushing that stress onto you. Unfortunately, this is one that the company is looking forward to so please submit it as soon as possible.”

She didn’t mind the request coming from Evelyn. She always kept it real and Renci appreciated that. “Okay. I’ll see what I can do”, She gave an internal sigh before saying the next part. “If I buckle down, I can have it submitted by tonight.” She wasn't wrong, though. Usually she would have submitted the report by now but she had found herself tied up with something she deemed more important.

“Thank you, Cee. I appreciate your hard work. Let me know if any other obstacles come up.” And with that, the call was over.

She hated that Nathan was getting his way, but she had said the words so she must uphold them. Really she only did that because she wanted to keep the heat off of Evenlyn’s back. That large nosed idiot wouldn’t hesitate to bring Evelyn’s manager in because, to him, she wasn’t doing her job in wrangling Renci in to make her do what he wanted.

She rubbed her temples to get rid of the oncoming headache before walking over to the wall where an iPad was being mounted. She pressed a couple of buttons then music came blaring out of every speaker in the room. She turned it to her work playlist before going back to her desk and getting started.

Five hours later, and a couple of cold calls from coworkers, she was done with the report. She put her hands over her head as she stretched and leaned back in her chair. As she hit submit on the program she used for reports, she got a call on her cell phone. “Hm?” At seeing who it was, she turned down the music and took the call. “Hi Brian. What’s up?”

“You’re coming tonight, right?” There was nervousness in his voice as if he were afraid she would say no.

She gave a little giggle before confirming. “I’ll be there. In fact, I’m heading over now. Give me about 45 minutes”

“Great! See you then!”

Brian was a sweetheart. Once of the nicest guys she knew. Unfortunately, their drummer was on vacation. It had already been planned before the band knew they would be performing in show. She had agreed to help them out.

She stood up from the computer and turned the music off before making her way back upstairs. She grabbed her keys and turned on the outside lights as it was going to be good and dark before she got back. With that, she left for the club.

Once parked, she made her way down a dark alley to stand in front of a metal door. She knocked three times before someone opened the door. It was the bouncer. He was large..to say the least. At least 6’3” with all the muscles one could have on their body. “Hi Royce”

“Hey Cee. Come on in.”

She thanked him then made her way through the club. It was loud and crowded as usual. Lots of people on the dance floor, lots of people taking seats on the many couches spread around the room. There was feeding, blood letting, lap daces, men with many women, and women with many men. She walked by all of it as she headed to the back of the room and went through another door. Anyone could come in but it was understood that the space was for band practice. The music from the club was muffled by the soundproof walls. She continued to walk deeper into the club, going down a long corridor until she came to a room with her friends. By this time, she couldn't hear the club music at all. She came to a large room and opened the see through glass door. “Hi guys” she said with a cheerful voice as she made her way inside.

“Ceecee!” It was Brian. He was happy to see her. Everyone else gave a ‘hey, how are you’ or standard ‘hey’. The band consisted of two male guitarists, a female base player, Brian the lead singer, and for now, herself on drums. She helped to finish set up they were doing then took her seat on the throne behind the drum set as they decided what to play. They settled on a song by Dethklok and The Ataris for range before going into their originals. The lead singer was extremely talented with his voice. She counted them off and they begin to play. She loved playing the drums and it showed. She had a smile the entire time, being animated with her drumming, as she hit every note perfectly. Having been playing for about 20 years, there was nothing that phased her. She would even take up the challenge of matching her drumming to a song she never heard before.

They played for about three hours before calling it a night as they all had family's or spouses to get home to; except her, she would be the only one going home to an empty house. As for tonight's progress, their original songs still needed tweaking here and there, apparently. Brian had written them and he was a perfectionist so if he didn’t like the sound, he was correcting it. He would have her try it this way or the guitarist try it that way. She was accommodating and had no issue with it at all. It wasn’t her band anymore, she was just a stand in so whatever he wanted is what she did. However, he was more demanding with her because of her experience. She would have to remind that she was better than their usual drummer, hoping he would rein in a bit. She has classes with their drummer and he was a ton better than when she first started working with him, but he wasn't there just yet skill wise for what Brian was asking for.

After all was said and done, everyone packed up and got ready to leave.

"Do you see her yet?" Viktor asked as he went up on his tippy toes to see over the crowd on the dance floor. His supernatural eyes scanning in more detail than Liam's. He studied his best friend's face as he continued to search. Sometimes he felt jealous that Viktor was something more than ordinary, but he'll never admit that out loud again after that one time he did. Viktor chewed him out and told him that he doesn't need to be a supernatural to be amazing. That he held more power than he thought. And then went on about how humanity is a strong power to wield and how being down to earth is a blessing.

"No. I think I was seeing things. C'mon. I don't want to stand around all evening." Liam tried to guide his friend back, but he stopped him.

"There is one spot we haven't checked yet." Viktor turned around and grabbed one of Liam's hands and dragged him passed the crowd and up to a door. "There's a room back here that live bands play in time to time. Maybe she's back here." He pushed open the door and motioned Liam to step through. The second he stepped through, and Viktor let the door close, the music volume dropped significantly and was muffled. His friend stepped in front of him and started to walk down the narrow hallway. Further they went, the less they heard to club music and more another type of music started to pick up in volume. "Alright, we're here." He nodded to the door. This time Liam was the one to open it. Live music smacked him in the face as he slowly walked in.

Viktor came up beside him and pointed to some seats in the back to sit in. Everyone was right up by the stage. Some cheered while others danced to it. As Liam took the seat next to his friend his eyes found a familiar purple haired girl. She was busy drumming away with the band and she was doing such an amazing job. Way better than Donald, she was professional level. He tilted his head confused; he thought she was some type of office worker with that laptop she always carried around. Maybe this was a side hustle?

The two sipped on their drinks as they lounged and enjoyed the latter half of the concert occasionally carrying on a conversation about life and work. When finished their final song, Viktor elbowed Liam and pointed to Renci.

"You think we could scout her for the band?"

"But we have Donald."

"Donald is like a college kid compared to her."

"I mean, he is a college dropout but he's still good."

"He's toxic. I can make him disappear."

"Oh, god! Viktor! No!"

Viktor just eyed Liam with a serious face before turning to watch the band pack up, watching Renci the closest. He took the last sip from his glass and licked away the blood on his lips. "You do know I meant it for the greater good, right?"

Liam stared down at his empty glass, the last of the droplets long since dried up and the ice chewed and swallowed. He did know his friend meant well with his comment. It was the easy route towards dropping Donald out of his life. "Yeah." Was all he could mumble out, the room nearly empty now so his low voice was easily heard by those close by. Was it bad that he debated on telling his friend to make him disappear? Probably.

Viktor looked over and saw Liam struggling internally and leaned forwarded to whisper to him. "I can see what you're thinking about. You don't need to say anything, just nod your head if you want me to."

Liam gripped his glass harder as his jaw clenched. He tried dropping Donald in the past before only for him to snake his way back into his inner circle. He's all take, take, take and never gave back once. He was a poisonous thorn in his side. He hated how much he loved him. Ever since high school, he just wanted to be his only one. He felt sparks and his heart always fluttered whenever he was with him. And he was the only one that feels that way. Was he fooling himself earlier with believing his words? Does Donald know how to love? He definitely knows how to ********, and he was amazing at it. But the sex wasn't worth it. Liam barely bobbed his head in a nod. Viktor's hand came over and rested on his thigh.

"Okay." He gently said, softening his expression. "I got your back. I owe you my life." He offered a smile to his friend who just stared at him out of the corner of his eyes. Liam's expression was hallowed and broken. What sentence did he just give Donald? He didn't even know if disappearing meant killing him. A tear pooled up in one of his eyes. "Let's get you another one.. or two. ******** it, four more of these, yeah?" Viktor stood and offered a hand to him. Liam took it and allowed him to pull him out of his chair. The two of them wandered back to the bar and ordered another round of drinks with three shots on the side. "Alright, here's to healing that poison in your system!" Viktor cheered loudly, holding a shot up in the air. Liam picked one up and raised it a bit before both of them clicked the bottom of the shot glass on the counter and tipping them back. "Again!" Another shot salute and knock back. "Again!!" He screamed loudly, both of them slamming the last empty shot glass down just as their drinks were placed in front of them. Liam took his Gin and Tonic and took a large gulp of it. The alcohol already making him feel fuzzy and warm. "<******** yeah!" Viktor cheered before sipping on his blood. "Oh, s**t. Liam! That napkin girl!"

That's right, she was here but he saw her leave with her bandmate, equipment in hand. Was she still here? Liam started to scan the crowd again. "You're right! I hope she's still here. I would like to talk to her in a non-work environment."

Renci looked out to the crowd while she was drumming and saw a face she wasn’t expecting to see, Liam’s. In fact, it made her do a double take while still playing. Her instincts took over automatically, causing her to continue to play perfectly with the band while her eyes were elsewhere for a second or two. What is he doing here? she thought. And with him? She had seen Viktor around here and there in the club but didn’t have any interactions with him. She became very suspicious as a human with a vampire meant bad things for the human. She could only think that he was using Liam as a blood bag and that was not acceptable in any way, shape, or form. She already had Donald on her kill list. Looks like she would be adding a second being to it tonight.

Once the show was over, she helped the band to pack up. As she was doing so, she listened in on the conversation Viktor was having with Liam. Making sure to do so in a way that said she was just minding her own business and didn’t hear anything, but giving them a side eye here and there. She spoke, smiled, and laughed with the band mates as they congratulated each other on another successful performance and talked about life in general. He meant for the greater good, he owes you his life? That one was curious. What did he mean by that, she thought. He can see what you are thinking about? Could he read minds or was he just good at reading Liam. Why was Liam looking so sad? Is every person in your life an a*****e, she thought as the two got up and she watched them leave. She must have zoned out and been looking for a while because Brian approached her. “Is everything okay?” he asked, placing a hand on her shoulder and looking concerned. “Yea, everything is fine,” she said with a smile as she turned to look at him. “Just saw someone I know.” With that she continued with the task at hand.

She helped to load all of the equipment into Brian’s van then bid everyone a good night as they went their separate ways. She, on the other hand, went back into the club to see if Liam was still there. She looked around the room before spotting him at the bar. She smiled to herself; glad he hadn’t left yet. She made her way through the crowd of people, trying not to get bumped into and failing, to end up at the bar where she happily filled the empty spot next to Liam. The bartender walked over and she ordered a tequila sunrise before addressing Liam. “Hey there. Fancy seeing you here,” she said as she turned her body so that she was facing him, a big smile on her face. She tried to reel the smile in but she couldn’t help it. Being this close to him and smelling the coffee shop still on him was a treat for her senses. “Did you enjoy the performance?” She was worried about being caught in a vampire bar, playing a gig with vampires. No doubt he was going to ask a question that would make her reveal her true heritage. She stopped thinking and stressing about it. Mainly because she wasn’t sure if Viktor could read her mind or not and she didn’t dare provide information that wasn’t meant for the general public.

“Viktor, right?” she said to the vampire who was with him. “I’ve seen you around the club here and there,” she explained. I hope you aren’t using him as a food source…, she thought, trying to test to see if he knew what she was thinking. Her outer appearance remind friendly as ever, and even her thought was pleasant though it definitely had a threatening undertone.

A voice off to his side made him jump but then realized it was Renci. He turned and smiled at her. "Hey, you. Right? Didn't think you were in a band after seeing you around the coffee shop." Viktor shot a look over to him when he realized this was the girl he was talking about. Liam took another gulp from his drink, moving away from being tipsy and becoming a bit drunk. "It was a good performance; how long have you played the drums for?"

"Yeah, it's Viktor. You must be Liam's napkin girl, Renci?" He smirked and elbowed Liam, giving him a nice catch nod.

"Wait, yall know each other? I'm still going to do introductions though! Ceecee, this is Viktor. He's my best friend." He leaned over, wrapping an arm around his friend shoulder and patted his chest.

"We got a lot of history of saving each other's asses."

"Yes, we do. Oh, and This is Ceecee."

"You mean napkin girl since you never shared Renci's name before now." Viktor smirked as he finished off his blood and Liam blushed at hearing how stupid the nickname was in front of Renci. "Want to join us, we're getting drunk to celebrate our boy Liam wanting to heal finally." Liam raised his glass in a silent cheer before taking another gulp. "Shots are on me." He turned around and ordered three shots for everyone. Liam looked down at his nearly empty glass, frowning a bit. He needs to stop focusing on the sadness of losing a friend and focus on the healing he can now do without him. He sighed and chugged the rest of it and sat it down on the bar. "Liam, need some water? Y'know what, I'll still order it. Make sure to sip on it. Okay?"

Liam nodded. "So, Ceecee, first time seeing you outside of work. Is there where you hang out? Easy for you to come in since you perform here. For me, I need Viktor with me to be allowed in."

"For a good reason to, Liam. Some of the vampires here don't have the viewpoints I have. They'll just use you like a free use blood bag."

Nine shots were lined up on the bar as Liam cheered, taking one and holding it up in the air. "Cheers for the end of one friendship and a start of a new one." He nodded towards Renci. "Cheers!" He yelled as he tapped in on the counter before tossing it back. Viktor followed suit. Liam picked up another one, "Cheers for a great boss and workplace!" Another shot got knocked back. "Cheers for great friends." He paused for a second. "Besides the ******** Donald!" With that Viktor roared out a cheer and they both finished off the shot. Liam drummed on the counter, swaying as his vision warped.

"Hey, Renci, watch Liam for me. I need to use the restroom." Viktor stood up from the bar and walked away, slightly wobbling as the alcohol mixed with blood was finally catching up with him.

Liam watched him disappear into the crowd before turning to look at Renci. "It's just us humans now." He chuckled. "I'll watch your back if you watch mine. Joking, it's safe if you stay near the staff. Viktor is a bit of a light weight, so I've been left by staff members before. " He stared at her for a bit before reaching out and touching her hair. Taking strains and wrapping them around his finger. "A pretty color. How do you keep the color so vibrant? Mine always dulls after the first shower." His eyes moved from her hair to her eyes, leaning in a bit. "And your eyes, pretty contacts. Super colorful." He stumbled off the stool but used the bar to catch himself. "Oops, sorry. I really like those contacts. I use some to change my eye color time to time. I need to see them closer. What brand are they?" He leaned in to study them but before he could another wave of dizziness shook him, and he stumbled forward again. His lips crashed into Renci's lip. His drunken brain not understanding that it was an accidental kiss decided to continue. His lips moved against hers as the smell of alcohol on his breathe scented the air between them. His arms grabbed onto her waist to both steady himself and pull her closer. Lightly, his licked his tongue against her lips, asking for an invite in.

"s**t!" Viktor ran up and pulled Liam off of Renci before looking back at her apologetically. "I'm sorry, Liam is usually very friendly and a bit touchy feely when he's drunk but recently some a*****e ******** with his heart. I don't think his head is on straight tonight. I'm sorry for that."

Liam hung limp in Viktor's arm as he carried him like a log tucked under his arm. His super strength apparent. "I'm not sorry." He whined.

Viktor looked down at him like he was a puppy whining after shredding a couch and sighed. "Okay, you're too drunk now. I'm taking you home."

Liam looked up at Viktor and Renci. "Why don't we all hang out at my place. Ceecee, wanna come over? We can continue to drink there!"

"No drinking." Dad Viktor kicked in. "I need to sober you up before you get hurt."

"Fiine. Ceecee, wanna come over? We can chill!"

"You don't need to if you don't want to, Renci. This is just drunken babble from a broken-hearted man."

"Yeaaah..." Liam mumbled as Viktor started to carry him out of the bar.

“Yea, mild mannered office worker by day and a drummer by night,” she said with a smile before elaborating. “Technically, I'm not in a band. I'm just helping out because their drummer is away on vacation. They didn't get word of this show until after he was gone so they asked if I could stand in.” She gave a shrug of her shoulders as if to say what could she do. She used to be a member of the team a long time ago but that was nothing worth bringing up, else she would just complain about how she and Brian would butt heads all the time. “Thank you,” she said as she glanced at the ground and pushed her back behind her left ear. It made her happy that he had enjoyed the show. She would be more than happy to drum for him anytime he wanted, all he had to do was ask. As for how long she had been playing, “A long, long, loooong time.” She couldn't tell him about 20 years as she only appeared to be 22. I mean, she very well could have started as a baby banging on pots and pans but she would rather not lie to him where it could be helped.

Liam's what girl? This caused her to raise a brow in confusion. “Napkin girl?” She then remembered how he had written his number on a napkin for her. “Oh! Right. The number on the napkin,” she said with a laugh. “Yes, I'm Renci.”

“I wouldn't say know each other, per se. We've only seen each other in passing.” She put her eyes on the vampire, “Hi Viktor. Nice to officially meet you.” She watched the interaction between the two. It was wholesome. She liked that. It was good to know he had such people in his life and that she wouldn't have to take out everyone on his friends list. Well, unless they started to encroach on her time with him, but she doubted that would be a problem as he came to know her.

She was beside herself when he blushed. It was ******** adorable. How could one being be so cute. She couldn't help to stare and smile at the pink hue on cheeks. Would it give away that she's interested in him? Maybe. Did she care? Absolutely not. As for wanting to heal, she wondered what he was healing from. Obliviously something big if he's getting drunk over it. She didn't take him as one to drink his sorrows away at a bar, but maybe she was wrong. Or, it could be that Viktor was here with him. There's something to be said about drinking with your friend, let alone best friend. “I guess you could say I'm a regular here. But, I do have a few other spots I like to visit.” Maybe he could join her one day and she would show him what the underground was really like. Yea, they were mostly mean and couldn't stand humans but they also threw some pretty good parties. Beside, Kelsey would come with her all the time. She didn't see anything different being for Liam.

She pointed at Viktor with a nod of her head, agreeing that most of the beings in the building right now would love nothing more than to sink their fangs into him. “Viktor has a good point. I've spotted at least ten out on the dance floor who have been looking in your direction. I'm glad you have him here to protect you from the nasties.” Of course, she had memorized each face that dared put their eyes on Liam. Did Viktor have that much sway in the vampire world? No one was testing his ability to protect his friend. She found this to be interesting.

When the shots came, she cheered with them and downed them like a pro. She may be many things but a light weight wasn't one of them. When he got to the part about Donald, everything fell into place. Their conversation earlier and the healing aspect. Ahhh, I see. Still going to kill him though, she thought to herself as she joined in on the cheer. “Don't worry, he's in good hands,” she said to him then watched him walk off.

Nothing but us humans now he said. She felt bad, like she was leading him on somehow, pretending to be human. She had worked HARD to come off as human; it had taken many years to get it right. On being able to completely mask her power and come up with excuses for her appearance. She was using glamour a lot at first but it became tiresome to use it day and night every day and the amount of power used gave her away to the supernatural so she found realistic excuses instead. She met his eyes as he stared at her, her face already warm but then it turned hot as he reached out to touch her hair. She loved being so close to him with no one to interfere. She listened to him compliment her hair and eyes, before stumbling off the stool. Her reflexes were quick as she reached out for him, but he caught himself on the bar instead. She could feel the heat continuing to creep up her face the closer he got to her. When he asked what brand her contacts were, she couldn't hold it in any longer. “Liam, I'm--” Not human is what she was going to say but instead she found her lips meeting his as he stumbled into her. Her eyes went wide and she stiffened up from the unexpected surprise. If she wasn't red before, she was looking like a lobster right now. She was just enjoying being in his presence and now she was feeling his soft, supple lips against her own. Being in shock, she didn't respond at first but then decided to cash in on the situation. Was he kissing her because he meant to? She didn't know. Was he drunk and doing drunk person things? Definitely. She probably should have ended the kiss, guessing he would apologize for it or regret it when he sobered up, but she couldn't muster the will to do so. Instead, she kissed him back. When he grabbed her waist, she moved in closer, ready to wrap her arms around his neck and deepen the kiss into what his tongue was asking for but...Viktor came back. She had totally forgotten about him in the whirlwind of...passion? Lust? Whatever it would be called that was going on between her and Liam before he got pulled away.

She was enjoying the moment, be it accident or not, until Viktor mentioned Donald and how it was affecting Liam's feelings. She cleared her throat and straightened her shirt, though it didn't need it, as she nodded at Viktor. “It's no worries. Things happen,” she said in an understanding tone of voice. Though when Liam said he wasn't sorry, she smiled on the inside.

When she was invited to his place, she found herself in a real dilemma. She really wanted to go and be around him more, and see his place. She knew where he lived but she didn't know what apartment number or anything. However, she had already made plans for the night. She was afraid that if she canceled them she would have to wait another night or two to carry them out. But then with Liam being this broken up about it when the ******** was still alive, would she send him down a path of no return? Would he be so heartbroken that he would turn Donald into a idol and pretend like he was nothing but good? Or, worse yet, admit that he had faults but make excuses for them. Would it hinder him from moving on? She guessed she better get an understanding of that situation before making a move and who better to talk about it than Viktor...given Liam's current state. “Sure, I'd love to come over and chill,” she said as she caught up to them. “Or at least help out with this one. I've been around my fair share of inebriated friends.”

"Inebriated friends!" Liam slurred out the cheer. "Party at my place!"

"No party." Dad Viktor said in a monotone voice. With Renci's help he slid Liam into the back seat of his car and held the door open. "Do you mind sitting in the back with Liam? I have a tiny trashcan back there if he goes to vomit, use it. I'll worry about cleaning it later. Also, he may or may not try that kissing s**t again. I apologize ahead of time, just pinch his nose and he'll lean away." He held the door open for Renci and firmly shut up once she got inside and settled next to him. He stepped around the front of the vehicle and got into the driver's seat.

"I'm not a dog, why are you telling her how to handle me?"

Viktor turned around and looked at Liam like a parent looking at a child who keeps begging for fast food when dinner sat waiting at home. "You'll understand when you sober you, man." He looked over to Renci, his expression softens. "You ready? Luckily, his place is close by. Just deal with him for not even ten minutes. Just remember the nose trick." He pinched his nose as a demonstration as he mentioned the trick before rotating back around. He cranked the keys in the ignition. "Alright, kids, seat beats or this car won't move." He chuckled, enjoying his dad role he found himself in again.

"Seat belt!" Liam fumbled around until his hands grasped onto the fabric. He pulled it towards himself as his other hand wandered around for the fastener. Where did the damned thing go? He peeked up and saw it overhead. Ah, right there. He snatched it up and struggled with slipping the metal piece into the anchor. But as soon as Viktor heard two clicks, he shifted the car into reverse and pulled out of the parking spot.

Liam felt his body lose its strength momentarily as he crashed into Renci's shoulder. "Oops, sorry." He mumbled as an incredible scent caressed his nose. How could a human smelled so intoxicating and inviting all at once. Reminded him a few years back when Viktor came to him after a terrible fight. He was covered in cuts, bruises, scraps, and a lot of blood. A similar scent was thick in the air and warmed his core like Renci's scent was now. He remembered his friend humbly bowing his head as he got on one knee and asked for some of his blood to begin his healing process. Back then Viktor used to be ruthless in the vampire community, throwing his weight and powers around to keep others in check. Liam could count on one hand how many people were either on his level or stronger. He kneeled down by his friend, placing a hand on his shoulder. He struck up a deal for his blood; Viktor would have to stop with his violent ways and his causal hunt for humans to consume. Liam used his special blood to his advantage over his friend. Viktor only knew of Liam who processed such a unique type of blood that seemed to act like a healing potion, just like in video games, to vampires. Viktor, in need of healing agreed and sunk his fangs into Liam's neck. The searing, icy pain of his skin being punctured made him draw in a sharp inhale but then the toxins in his friend's saliva numbed the area and burned his core up as it entered his blood stream. His brain became foggy as euphoria laced his blood and soul, causing his body to relax. It was always a startling experience for Liam when Viktor fed on him. The toxin made him confused and extremely hot. His body would react in excitement, wanting to draw him in closer and to feel his skin. His friend would always restrain him before the toxin convinced him to move his body closer and close that distance. It didn't take Liam long to understand why humans willfully became blood bags for vampires. Their saliva was an aphrodisiac drug that made the most prude person very willing to do anything intimate. But he also found out that he was the one of the only few humans that commented on the euphoric smell and taste of vampire blood. Viktor rarely let him have a taste, scared of turning his friend.

Since then, Viktor stayed true to his word and basically dipped out of the dangerous parts of his vampire community. He does still interact with his kind but on a more civil level and typically at bars or clubs that had strict rules for behavior in place. He basically acted like a human now outside of when he needed to feed. Which, Liam still played the part of his meal whenever he could. His blood was not only special but flavorful and seen as a rare treat for vampires. But his friend was trying so hard to be a good person and protect good core values, so anyway he could spoil him, he would. To hide the fact, he was a meal voucher in public, Liam has asked Viktor to start biting him in places he could easily cover up like his upper arm and inner upper thighs. Even though his friend sipped on blood to help with the alcohol in his system at the club, he knew he would need a sip of his blood to sober up fully shortly.

Liam glanced at his friend who was extremely focus on driving on the road to get everyone to his building safely. He was proud of who Viktor turned into. If someone knew him back then and saw him today, they wouldn't recognize him at all. He had a totally different vibe about him these days. He was calm and happy. A soft smile grew on his face as he turns to look at the lady he was using as a resting spot. "Viktor is such an amazing person. Bet you didn't know he used to be a well-known menace amongst vampires and was evil towards humans. Now, look at him. Papa VIktor, protector of the good and a kickass gamer."

Viktor snorted a laugh from behind the wheel but kept his eyes glued to the road. Even though he may be drunk, his reaction time was still better than majority of humans. Wild to think that.

Liam focus fell back on to Renci as he studied her face. "Ceecee, weren't you trying to say something at that bar? Something about yourself?" A hand came up and lazily traced her features on her face. His fingertip dragged down the bridge of her nose and booped her lips before steading himself to brush against them. Was she wearing a tinted gloss or something? His eyelids drooped more as he played with her lips. The make-up she wore looked nice even through the sweat from the concert, he was impressed by her skill. "You did an amazing job with your makeup. What setting spray do you use while performing?" In the past, Liam's light make-up he wears for shows ran as sweat carried it away. He always felt guilty about being a heavy sweater and ruining Yasmine's hard work. She was the mastermind behind the cohesive make-up look of the band. "Might need to try out your brands. Yasmine does our make-up for the band's performances but mine always runs since I sweat the most."

"Yasmine, is Blake's partner and manager. Blake is the bassist in Liam's band, and they are the mastermind behind it. Though is was Liam and Blake who started the band way back in high school. They went through a couple drummers before they found Donald. And that's how he leeched his way into their friend group. Ever since then, he has used everyone. But that'll change soon," Viktor slightly growled out the last part as his grip tightened on the steering wheel. His eyes narrowed as rage dumped into his system. His former self peeking through and hungry for violence and fury. He took a deep breath and settled down, that darker side of him fading quickly.

Liam spaced out of the whole situation as his eyes continued to follow his finger, tracing each feature a few times before making its way back to her lips. His lips tingled as he recalled the spark of electricity between their lips as they kissed. That was the first time he felt that sensation and he wanted to feel it again. It was both painful and pleasurable. He lightly turned Renci's head to face him fully as he slowly leaned in. As more of the gap closes, the more he closed his eyes. He closed his eyes just as he felt their lips barely brush against each other.

The car came to a slow, gentle stop. "Okay, we're here. How did you fair back there, Renci?" Liam sat up away from her before Viktor saw what was going on. He took a second to undo the latch on the seatbelt to be let free. He crawled out of the car and stumbled up the steps to his building as Viktor sped walk to catch up and grab him by the arm. "Jesus, Liam. Wait for us."

Liam looked startled. "Ah, oops. I forgot about yall for a moment. I went into autopilot mode."

"I can tell, man. Let the lady catch up at least." He lightly smacked Liam on the back. "And hold the door open for her." Liam playfully saluted his friend and held open the door as Renci approached them. Viktor held onto one of Liam's arms as he guided them to his apartment door even though his friend as been here many times. Liam took a bit to find the correct key on his keyring and to unlock the front door, but they all made inside. Viktor closed and locked the front door before helping Liam to a couch off on the side. A room divider sat on the opposite side and covered majority of his bed from line of sight at the front door. Even though this was studio apartment, it was still spacious. "Renci, could you flip the lights on? It's to your left, the middle switch, please." Viktor politely gave the instruction to her as he pulled a blanket off the back of the couch and draped it over Liam. When Renci flipped the switch, the recessed lighting slowly lit up to a dim, warm glow giving the industrial apartment a cozy feel. "I'll order some food in, what do yall want?"

"Noodles!" Liam excitedly yelled out but didn't add more to his statement. He looked over to Renci and waved her over. "Ceecee, over here. Wanna watch something or did you wanna game?" He grabbed the remote and flipped his tv on. The tv mounted on the wall flicked on and displayed different apps and hdmi inputs. Viktor pulled the computer chair away from the desk under the tv and moved it over next to the couch. He sat down and scrolled on his phone, looking at delivery apps.

She giggled on the inside at Viktor. He was definitely the parental type. She wondered if he had any kids of his own. As for the nose trick, she gave a soft chuckle out loud as she got settled in next to Liam. “I think we'll be okay,” she said as she put her eyes on Liam. He didn't have to apologize for bumping into her or for trying to kiss her, or for anything really. She was so lucky to be able to be in his presence for this long. It's nothing she would have traded for the world. She was happy she decided to tag along. Donald could wait until later. Right now she had an adorable Liam leaning against her. She wished she could just wrap him around her like a warm blanket. She wanted to tell Viktor to just drop them both off at her place. She was more than capable of taking care of him and giving him what he needed, but that wouldn't happen. One can dream, she thought to herself as she listened to what Liam had to say about Viktor. “Really, you don't say,” she said in relation to Viktor having been well, a typical vampire back in the day. She glanced up, looking at him through the rear view mirror for a second before returning her attention to Liam. “I'm glad he's become such a good friend to you. It's rare that vampires do. Only the most elite with an iron will could make such a change and stick to it.” So she was right concerning Liam's protection at the club. Once you made a name for yourself in the community, that name tended to stick. Thought from what she learned, all it took was the right situation for a good vampire to revert to their old ways. Maybe not fully but if that happened then someone was likely going to die. She had seen it too many times growing up in the council. She did wonder what his power level was like. Was he good at hiding it like she was? Must have been if she couldn't get a real read on him without using some of her power, which she wasn't going to do. It wasn't a question that needed to be answered right now.

“Yea, I, um…” Why was it so difficult to say she wasn’t human. It’s not like she’s never admitted it before. She had to think for a minute, admitting to what she was really afraid of. She was afraid of rejection. She just couldn’t get over the fact that it might make Liam see her in a different light, a negative light. Sure he has a vampire friend but it didn’t mean that tolerance would spread to her. What if he found her revolting. Half vampire and half fae? How did she even explain how that happened in a way that made sense. She knew of her parent’s and some information on her conception and birth. She had never seen her father. When she was a child, she spotted her mother a couple of times in the Unseelie court but her mother didn’t acknowledge her presence at all. She walk right by as if Renci didn’t exist so everything she knew was hearsay. I mean, she trust Angelica and what she was told but it was still through a third party. It took her a while to accept that she was different from the beings around her and to realize she was being mistreated more than others because of her heritage. She had pulled herself out from those depths, doing whatever needed to be done to find favor with as many beings around her as possible. Showing that she would be trusted, that her word was binding, and that she was more than trash. Her life had been hard, to say the least. And yet, here she was now, having made a name for herself that was spread around by those who had less than polite ways of handling certain business. Dame de la Morte, the Lady of Death is what they called her, knowing that she would not disappoint. And yet, here she was…worried about what a human would think about her. But he wasn’t just any human. It was Liam and she valued his opinion of her. So, someone who killed for a living without blinking an eye sat there concerned and worried about how she would be perceived by him.

Him tracing her features with his finger made her heart speed up. His skin was soft as he gently traced down her nose to her lips. It was so difficult to not place his finger in her mouth and slowly pull it out, caressing it with her lips. Her fangs almost elongated at the thought, but she pushed the feeling back. She wouldn’t want to bite him anyway. She wasn’t able to turn people into vampires, but opposite of your regular vampire, her bite hurt…a lot. There was nothing pleasurable about it. She didn’t need blood to live but she did enjoy the taste of it. She would only bite those who she deemed deserved it. Mainly assholes who were mistreating people for no reason. It didn’t matter if they were human or not, child, woman, or man. She was an equal opportunist when it came to her skills and bite. When he questioned her make-up, she stumbled again, only giving an "Um” in reply. Truth was, she wasn’t wearing any make-up at that time. She preferred the natural look but her natural look was beyond most humans. It was thanks to the fae in her that she came off as naturally pretty. That’s not to say she didn’t wear make-up from time to time, mainly for a more gothic look, but as for tonight she had left the black lipstick at home.

Before she could question who this Yasmine was, Viktor piped in and explained. She nodded in understanding of Liam’s band mates. When he mentioned Donald, his face was classic. She wanted to smile but kept a straight face, as she was supposed to have only seen Donald once and therefore didn’t really know who he was. But Viktor’s reaction had her feeling better about him being on her kill list. His reaction and tone in his voice for that brief moment said enough. It sounded like who would get to him first, herself or Viktor. Liam didn’t seem upset about Viktor’s attitude towards Donald or his threat. It was good to know that if something did happen to him, Viktor would be there for him to help him cope with the situation. All the time, she never stopped being aware of Liam and his touch. When he turned her head and went in for a kiss, she was all for it. She closed her eyes when he did, their lips brushing before he pulled away due to Viktor’s announcement. “All was good and dandy. Nothing to worry about,” she said in a cheerful tone to Viktor as she got out of the car. She gave a soft laugh at Viktor telling him to wait up and to hold the door. She sped walked and jogged up the stairs so as to catch up with the two. “Well thank you,” she said to Liam, being playful and giving a small curtsey before entering his apartment. When she was asked to turn the lights on, she easily found the switch thanks to Viktor’s direction. The bulbs came on and softly illuminated the room. She took in the layout of his apartment as she looked around from where she stood by the light switch. It very roomy for being a studio and the lights were complementary of the space. She smiled as she looked around, liking how he had it set up. As for food, “Noodles sound good,” she said, in agreement with Liam. What type of noddles? She had no clue, but whatever he wanted is what she would get as well. She went into her pocket and pulled out a card holder. After going through it for a second, she pulled out a green credit card and handed it to Viktor. “Put it on that. You already paid for the drinks.” She gave a smile and insisted on paying for the meal, not accepting any declines from Viktor.

When beckoned, she went over and sat beside Liam on the couch, facing him and being able to see Viktor in the background. “Whichever you prefer,” she said in reply to playing games or watching tv. “But first.” God, she was about to ruin the entire mood but she had to get it out in the open. “I’ve been trying to tell you that I’m not human.” She winced at the confession, watching Liam’s face to see how he reacted. “I’m a mix of vampire and fae.” She gently bit her bottom lip out of worry before letting it go and lowering her guard, allowing some of her power to fill the room. It was a gently wash of power, warm and welcoming. It was nice. Something that someone could bathe in for a long time, making them feel at ease and comfortable. Usually her power was the opposite of that as she was going against someone that needed to be taken care of. At that point it was suffocating, making it hard to breathe as it felt like thousands of pins were being stuck into them all at the same time. But, that wasn’t the situation and she wanted it to at least not cause anyone fear or concern. She then opened her mouth and let her teeth elongate into fangs so that he could see them; they were dainty compared to a full blooded vampire...or even one who had been turned. Her heart was trying to beat through her chest the entire time. She would leave the display at this for now. She could have put on an entire show for him by floating into the air, changing into a butterfly, creating fire in her hands, the list went on and on, but this was a good start. She even looked beyond Liam to see Viktor’s reaction. Would he be upset as well that she was pretending to be human? She didn’t know but she got the idea that whatever his opinion was could possibly spread to Liam. And so she waited, with baited breath for their reaction. Would he still want to watch a movie or something or play a game with her? She put her attention back on Liam, searching his face trying to gauge his reaction. She licked her lips in nervousness as she continued, “I’m sorry if I led you on. I’m used to pretending to be human to interact with the world, but…” She removed one of the contacts to show that her eye color didn’t change. “My eyes are actually purple. The contacts are just a reason I can give to people. My hair is naturally purple, and I’m not wearing any make-up.” She believed that covered all of the questions he had about her appearance.

Liam turned and looked at Renci as she blurted out her secret. That she wasn't human and in fact, she's a half bred. Half vampire and half faerie. The remote in his hand was still pointed at the tv as he froze up upon feeling the air in the apartment shift and change. It felt like warm, soft hands reaching out to him to comfort him. To pet him. The drunken buzz started to wear off as he was forced to focus and sober up. The lady opened her mouth to expose fangs as they extended out, they were a lot shorter and blunt compared to Viktor's needle-sharp fangs. She even took out plan contacts to show that they weren't colored. She continued to ramble on more as she obviously panicked over revealing her nature to him. She obviously cared a lot about how he would react as she kept looking at him. All the things he admired about her beauty was real and not modified by objects. This is how she actually looks. Was that from her faerie side or vampire side? He has seen many naturally attractive female vampires at the club, but their looks didn't compare to this one in front of him. At some point his mouth opened a bit and when he realized it, he snapped it closed. Liam glanced over to Viktor to read the situation more since Viktor has more experience with different supernatural types and prioritizes Liam's safety above all else.

Viktor was frozen as well, his phone was still in front him, mid-order. His eyes studied Renci closely, assessing and analyzing a potential new threat for his friend. When air around them shifted, it calmed Viktor and he started to move again. The lady didn't seem like a threat, quite the opposite. She looked at Liam was panic and admiration in her eyes. Did she love him already? He thought they only just met. Slowly, he recalled faeries having a tendency to form obsessions over their mate. Did they already sleep together? No, that didn't seem possible, Liam would've said something about that to him. It was a bit concerning to see a half fae already attached to his best friend like this. A memory crossed his mind as he recalled a fellow vampire warning Viktor of the Dame de la Morte if he continues down the violent road he was going. She was infamous in his gang, a half fae and half vampire killer. Once you earned her target, you were a walking corpse. Was this lady the same half fae and half vampire? He hasn't heard of any other half breeds in this city.

Liam looked back at the lady, Viktor carefulness made him a bit nervous, but he didn't outright attack her. She couldn't be that dangerous since she had plenty of chances to harm him since they first ran into each other. He forced himself to relax and nodded back at her. "Okay, Ceecee the mixed breed. I'm Liam the human. That's Viktor the vampire. It's okay, you don't need to freak out. You're not the first or even the second supernatural I befriended. Though you're the first that's not a full bred." He wonders how rough she has it within the supernatural community. "Hey, Vik, did you order those noodles?"

Viktor slowly looked away from Renci to glare at Liam. "Naw, man. I need more than 'NOODLES' to place a damn order." Viktor snapped back at him while mocking Liam's Noodle declaration earlier. The vibes between them went back to normal as they goofed around.

Liam pouted. "Aight, how about that ramen place you took me to when I burnt my tongue and got that waittress number. I think it was a few months back?" His fingers snapping as his brain worked to recollect the name.

"The Giggle Gohan. And sound good, I'll order three of their best-selling ramen for us."

"Ceecee, you're going to love this ramen. So good. I couldn't wait for mine to like cool off and burnt the hell out of my tongue." He started the chuckle at the memory. "And then thought it was smart to chug cold beer to make it feel better. First of all, it stung like a b***h. And then I got too drunk to really enjoy the ramen. But luckily, this time, I'm sobering up so I can fully enjoy it."

"It's placed; we got fourty-five minutes. Let's pop a show on."

Liam watched Viktor wobble a bit as the alcohol refusing to let go of his friend. "Wait here for a bit, going to go sober Vik up real quick. Find a show you like, I want to watch something new tonight." He passed the remote to Renci before getting. "C'mon, let's get you fixed up." He placed his hand on his arm and pulled lightly. The vampire stood and followed Liam into the bathroom. Once the door closed behind them, Liam took his pants off and hopped up on the vanity counter, spreading his legs to expose his inner thigh for his friend. "Drink." Was all he said to command his friend down to his knees. Liam scooted close to the edge of the counter as Viktor's face leaned in-between his legs. His mouth open as several thin fangs elongated down before biting into the flesh. Liam groaned out as the pain stabbed through his body. Then a savage heat took its place, and he felt his body react. He gripped the countertop to keep from moving as he heard gulping from his friend below. His head tilted back and rested on the cold mirror, his breathing quickened as he grew dizzy from the heat. His thoughts clouded as everything became instinct for him.

"Liam?" Viktor called out as his hand rushed to his face. He struggled to open his eyes and look at his best friend. Viktor started to tap his cheek to pull his consciousness back. He stirred and opened his eyes more this time.

"What happened?"

"I think Renci's power affected you and then when I fed, you fell into a trance and sorta enjoyed yourself some til you passed out." He pointed awkwardly down to Liam lap.

"Ah! God, Vik, I'm so sorry. I didn't know I was doing that. Oh, god." The panic quickly fixed the issue as he pulled his clothes back on.

"You seem back to normal now and you're fine, just didn't expect it was all. I'm impressed by what I saw. Lucky man." Viktor lightly smacked his shoulder and laughed, exiting the bathroom first. Liam could hear him striking up a conversation with Renci out there. He turned to sink on and washed his face. Man, what came over him? His head and heart really is messed up. He sighed and stared at himself in the mirror.

"Okay, let's get back out there and just enjoy your friends. Okay, Liam? Okay." He nodded as he answered himself back. He dried off his face and left the bathroom. "So, what are we watching?" He flopped down next to Renci on the couch, his inner thigh ached.

She watched as he opened his mouth a bit, being on pins and needles about what words he was about to speak. But then, he closed it. She wasn’t sure if this was a good sign or bad one. He eased her anxiety by confirming that she had no reason to freak out as he had other supers that he had befriended. Renci let out a nervous laugh, letting go of a breath she didn’t even know she was holding. Most supernatural’s didn’t care about trying to hide too much. Sure, they might put on airs when interacting with humans but just enough so the human wouldn’t know. Except lycanthropes. She still hadn’t figured out why many of them were ashamed of what they had become. Though perhaps it wasn’t for her to understand. She had never been a human that was changed into something else.

She gave a nod of her head as she drew her power back in, the room going back to the stillness before she flooded it. Her going back to pretending to be human as she put her contact back in. As for her being the first mixed breed he had met, it didn’t surprise her. She knew there weren’t many mixed breeds in the city. You might come across a vampire/human half breed here and there if one got lucky, but as far as she knew she was the only vampire/fae mix. Not only in the city but maybe ever. Her conception had been something of miracles. Even more so that she was alive today as her mother had apparently tried to terminate the pregnancy. The reasons around that differ depending on who you hear it from. If he wanted to know more, she would tell him all that she knew, but that would be a conversation for a different day. For now, the argument was over noodles.

She sat there and smiled, happy that things naturally went back to the way they were before her little confession. She listened as they spoke about a place they had visited before. The part about him getting the waitresses number is what stood out to her; a frown forming on her internal face. Was he still in contact with this person? He said it had been a few months back but that didn’t mean they no longer communicated. Sure, the one he was getting over at the moment was Donald, but would this person be someone he called on to fill part of that void? Even just for a night? She didn’t like the thought of this at all. She would have to investigate further.

She couldn’t help but laugh at his ramen experience. Just when it couldn’t get any worse, it kept getting worse. “Geez, that was some kind of experience for you, huh? I take it lessons were learned,” she said with a giggle.

When she was passed the remote, she just gave an “Okay” as she watched the two walk to the bathroom. She heard the word ‘drink’ from Liam. So Viktor was feeding off of him. She didn’t like that at all. Why did he have to feed from Liam instead of getting a bag of blood from the local blood bank. There was one in particular that serviced vampires in secret. They had more than enough business from human’s in the area that they could donate a ton of blood and still have a lot leftover. She wasn’t worried about Liam being turned, per se. Her best friend Kelsey was a human bag of blood for the vampire she serviced, and had been for years. Renci had tried to get to her to walk away many times over but she refused to leave him. Sure his bite was intoxicating but it was more than that. For whatever reason, she actually had feelings for the jerk. Did Viktor and Liam have the same relationship? She doubted it. Liam was allowed to get too close to her for Viktor to own him and Viktor didn’t seem phased by it in that way. So what was their deal? As she let the thoughts flow through her head, she mindlessly clicked the buttons on the remote, not wanting them to know that she could clearly hear them. Given they now knew what she was, they probably assumed that anyway but by now she was just used to covering her tracks.

She did get concerned with she heard Viktor call out Liam’s name. What had gone wrong? Did he need assistance? This caused her to look over toward the bathroom in worry, ready to come running if Viktor called out for help or if it sounded like an emergency. It would be hell or high water before she let anything happen to Liam. Who was she kidding, hell nor high water had anything on her iron will to protect him at any cost. She was in motion to stand up from the couch when she heard Liam’s voice. This put her greatly at ease as she sat back down. As for what went wrong? The answer came from Viktor’s explanation of her power and his feeding. Thinking about it, it was a lot to put a human though. She found it comical that Liam was the one apologizing when none of it was his fault. She would have to remember to keep her power controlled around him, for now. She could get him used to it over time, release a little here and a little there until he could handle it naturally.

She positioned herself on the couch as she had been when they both came walking out. She had actually picked a movie in all of her clicking…two in fact. She was at a toss up of which to present. They were both horror classified in their own way but didn’t have any jump scares or anything. It was a conceptual horror, something to give you to think about horror. The Substance was female based and spoke on the weight put onto women to look good and how they are phased out when they get too old. When one tries to revert back to their youth and the problems it can cause. The Ritual was about a group of guys and the guilt felt by one of them and resentment from his remaining friends when he let a friend die out of cowardness. Both powerful in their own right. Oh, or they could watch The Wailing. That was a good one too. All of sudden the two movies turned into five and then ten as her mind became flooded with potential pictures. Nope, stick to the two and go from there, she thought.

She smiled big when Liam sat down beside her and asked what they were watching. On the screen she had pulled up the more female centered movie. She kind of felt like she was putting herself into the ‘females like female stuff’ role but she also knew it wasn’t just any type of chick flick and it had body horror. Any other day she wouldn’t have cared but she wondered what Liam would think of it. Only one way to find out. “Well, I think we can give The Substance a try. If you don’t like it then we can skip over to The Ritual. I think both are good movies in their own right. They are both classified as horror but it’s more conceptual than having jump scares every two seconds.” There, two options. Ugh, should she had given the option of a good jump scare movie? Maybe he liked that more than think about it movies or how did it make you feel movies...even if they weren’t drama’s, per se. And with that she was fighting with herself again. She gently bit down on her bottom lip as she wrestled with her thoughts. Nope, no, this is fine and good. If he wants something else then he will say it, she reassured herself. With everyone in the room and seated, she let go of her bottom lip and started up the movie.

As she sat there, she couldn’t help but to smell the blood on Liam. She was sure Viktor sealed up the wound but the fragrance of blood was still in the air. It had been a while since she had any. She didn’t need it to live but she did like the taste of it. And for some reason, Liam’s blood smelled extra good. Like, REALLY good. Was her need for blood that strong? No. She had stopped being a slave to blood. She had been forced to drink it growing up, which is why she had an attraction to it but she hadn’t felt the urge, the need to drink in almost what…50 years now? But sitting next to Liam was becoming difficult. She looked at him and smiled before putting her attention back on the screen. Is this why Viktor feeds off of him? Was Viktor the one being enticed, being under the control of Liam’s blood instead of Liam being the one addicted to his bite? That would be interesting. Maybe that was the relationship. They were both enticed by the other.

She absent mindedly started to swirl her hair around her index finger, looking a bit uncomfortable. It was one of the many things she did as a child to self-comfort but tried to rid herself of as an adult. She was really only prone to it now when she was in deep concentration. She realized what she was doing and stopped. There’s no way she was going to let such a minuscule thing control her right now. She had no will to want to feed off of Liam. She knew what her bite did and in no way shape or form would she put him through that. But goddam his blood smelled good. She got her mind off of by thinking of something funny. She recalled the 'free smells' sign on the side of every Jimmy John’s restaurant. She smiled to herself as that was what she was getting now, free smells. It helped and she was able to relax and go back to concentrating on the movie. Besides, there was a more important matter at hand. Were they one's to laugh out loud and express themselves during movies, at home at least, or did they watch in silence? The question was important.

Liam settled into the couch more which involved him leaning back and draping his arms across the back of it as well as pulling one of his calves under his thigh. Very lightly his knee brushed against Renci as he shuffled around but failed to noticed the contact, leaving his knee extremely close to her as he watched her flip between the two movies. This was the first he has ever heard of horror being directed like this, he was definitely curious. The Substance's synopsis made it sound like there'll be some body horror in it. Awesome! "The Substance sounds interesting, pop that one on." The bite on his thigh didn't stop stinging though by now it should've only tingled as residual warmth creeped around the location. It felt like an open cut that was refusing to close but he disregarded it. "Hey, Vik, where's the order at?"

Viktor just stared at him hard and long for a bit before finally answering him. "It's only been five or seven minutes, dude. You tell me."

Liam's mouth moved to the side as he disapproved of Vik's attitude. Jesus, he was cranky. Was he hungry? "Okay, you caught me. I didn't pay attention to the time you announced."

"Fourty-five minutes, which by now it's less than forty."

"Awesome. I hope you don't mind us pausing during the move to grab the food." Liam turned to look at Renci and offered her a smile.

She clicked on the movie and started it up for everyone as she placed the remote on the coffee table in front of them. Liam tried to focus on the movie as the stinging persisted, the spot felt warm like it always does but something felt off. Whatever, he needed to just relax and allow the rest of the alcohol to ease out of his system. Viktor kept an eye on his phone to monitor the order so he could grab it as soon as it was dropped off. Someone on Liam's floor had a habit of snatching up food deliveries with made the whole process annoying to deal with. As the movie played out, Viktor kept shifting around in the chair as a scent drifted over to him and made his mouth water. He grew restless the longer the scent lingered around him. Even though he just fed off of Liam, he only took enough to sober up but not enough to fill him up. He was going to allow food to calm his hunger but with this scent curling around him it was going to be hard to feel satisfied. Finally, the scent grew strong enough to identify it. Viktor shoot up out fo the chair causing it to roll away from him as his eyes fell on the source.

"Liam! Your leg!"

Liam looked at his best friend confused but looked down at his leg. Blood soaked through his baggy jeans and started to spread. The stain was already pretty sizable, roughly five inches. That would explain the stinging he felt, the wound actually never closed. Did Viktor forget to lick the wounds to have his saliva seal it? "Oh, s**t, man. These are one of my favorite jeans. "

"I think you should be more concerned about that wound than your pants." Viktor scolded his carefree friend.

"Why should I be worried, I can just have you close it up for me. Let me grab some sweats and I'll meet you in the bathroom." He stated as he slowly stood, blood running down his skin under the fabric. "Sorry, Ceecee, the blood was probably bothering you. Or does blood not affect you like that?" He asked as he dug in a dresser and pulled out some grey sweatpants before walking carefully over to the bathroom. A couple drops of blood dotted the hard wood floor.

A phone chimed as Viktor clicked his tongue. "Head in the bathroom first, I need to grab the order."

"Sure thing, I'll clean up a bit." Liam ducked into the bathroom but left the door cracked open an inch as he grabbed a hand towel and wet it. He slipped off his jeans and tossed it in the tub. Gently, he dabbed up the blood with the hand towel. Losing this much blood never was an issue for him as his body produce so much of it and quickly. All of his wounds also healed faster than other humans. A few times people teased him by asking if he was actually a half breed or something. As far as he knew, both of his parents were humans. Only thing he was mixed with was Mexican and Irish.

Renci couldn’t help but to softly chuckle at the long, hard stare Viktor gave to Liam after inquiring about the food. His reply was even better. “It's no problem at all,” she said in response to Liam about pausing the movie for food. When the movie started she got into her movie watching pose, lounging on the couch with her body slightly twisted so that one arm rested on the back of the couch with her head resting in that hand with one leg crossed over the other . She was well aware that Liam’s knee was right there, barely touching her but she was in the position to mimic the way he was sitting when she found it time to change sitting positions. At which point maximum knee contact would be made.

When Viktor shot up from his chair, Renci looked over at him concerned. When he made his exclaimation, she looked down at Liam’s leg to see the blood. “Oh god!” she said as she suddnely stood up. “Where is your first aid kit?” she asked, ready to quickly retrieve it. Although, Liam didn’t seem stressed about the issue. In fact, he put all of his faith in Viktor being able to close the wound. She doubted Viktor had hit anything serious during his drink but that was a lot of blood. Would his saliva be sufficient? She still thought it called for a good cleaning and at least some gauze and medical tape. Maybe super glue to close it first. Even if he didn’t have a medical kit, she had what she called instant bandages in the trunk of her car. They came in little cylindrical cans. Pop the top and this foaming goo would shoot out to cover the wound and stop the bleeding. Once it set, it was a beast for doctor’s to remove but it would keep you alive long enough to get to a doctor. It would take her less than two seconds to get one from her car. But, the boys didn’t seem like it was needed. As such, she cooled her jets and let them handle it. “It’s fine. I conquered my lust for blood some years ago. I still drink it. I just don’t crave it like a typical vampire”…. “I would say no offense Viktor but you’re not a typical vampire, now are you”, she said with a smile. Viktor was old blood, not one of these new blood crazy things that like to stalk the street. Seemed like he had great control over himself as to not jump Liam with him bleeding like that. As for her mastery of blood lust, what she said would have been the whole truth until a few moments ago with Liam’s blood driving her crazy.

“Go ahead, I’ll grab the food,” she said to Viktor as she shoo’ed him into the bathroom to help Liam. She grabbed the order with no problem at all and placed the bag on a counter in the kitchen. With the two still being in the bathroom, she then got a wet paper towel and a dry one to clean up the spilled blood. She walked over to the spots, the smell tantalizing to her senses. She stood over them, looking down at them as she fought with herself to refuse the allure of taking a taste. The fight didn’t go for long and she lost to her urge. She looked back to make sure neither Viktor nor Liam could see her as she got on all fours and licked up the droplets. It tasted as divine as it smelled. She had never tasted anything so good. It was like eating a decadent piece of chocolate for the first time. Something you savor with your eyes closed so as to focus on the sense of taste. She let the blood linger on her tongue, taking in every sweet and metallic note before swallowing. Oh my god, that’s so good, she thought to herself. Having given in to her most basic of instincts, she now proceeded with cleaning the floor of her saliva. I can’t believe I just did that, she thought to herself. Now who is acting like a typical vampire. Though truth be told, if she could have gotten away with soiling a paper towel with the blood to take with her for later admiration, she would have done so. But, she was quite sure Viktor would pick up on the smell of what she would try to hide in her pocket. No, she would just have to live on with the memory.

Having cleaned the floor, she washed her hands and rinsed her mouth out with water. For sure Viktor would smell the blood on her breath and she couldn’t have that. Having cleaned herself up, she worked on finding bowls and silver wear, going through cabinets and drawers. Having found what she needed, she plated the noodles for everyone as she wasn’t a fan of eating out of to-go containers. “Noodles are all ready,” she said, calling out to both of them. The bowls were put in a straight line going across the counter top, with a fork sticking out of each of them, and a folded napkin beside each bowl. “What would you like to drink?” she asked as she opened the fridge to see what the options were. And at that she had made herself at home in Liam’s apartment. It wasn’t something hard for her to do. She naturally took on the role of host wherever she was.

Viktor looked confused at Renci as she shooed him into the bathroom, insisting she could get the delivery. But she was a guest over here, why make her do things? Well, so was Viktor but with how close he was to Liam, this was his second home and often would crash over at his place. "Ah, yeah, sure. Thanks, Renci." He felt too awkward to start using the same nickname Liam used. Maybe next time he sees her since she seems like good people. As she went to the front door, Viktor ducked into the bathroom and closed the door behind himself. The smell of the blood slapped him in the face and made his muscle tense up. He hasn't fully fed in a while, and it was definitely time. Liam was bent over on himself with a wet hand towel, trying to dab up the blood but instead was smearing it around. "You're just making the mess worse." He groaned as he took the towel from him. "The hell type of fabric is this? It won't absorb the blood for s**t."

Liam straightened out his back. "It was the only pack of towels that I found on sale, though now I see why. Is it that bad? You bite so high up this time, and I see some of the blood wrapping around to the back." He spun around as he looked down before looking at the mirror. He turned his leg and saw a line of blood down the back of his leg. "Man, I bled a lot this time."

"Are you feeling alright? Lightheaded, dizzy?"

"Naw, nothing." Liam shook his head and looked over to his friend to see him eyeing the blood, hungry. "Vik... if you're hungry, you can take more. I'll stop you if I start to lose too much. Promise."

Viktor eyed him nervously but kneed down in front of Liam and grabbed the bloodied leg, turning it to expose the bite he gave him. As his tongue made contact with his skin, he heard Liam suck in a small gasp. This man as always been so sensitive below the belt, he just needs to make sure he doesn't tickle him too much still he flails. Viktor worked his tongue around the smudged blood, thoroughly cleaning it off his skin. With a glance up, he saw Liam was using the wall to help keep himself upright as he fought against the effects of his saliva, he always felt bad doing this to his best friend, but Liam was the one to offer the deal. He kept twisting his leg as he made sure to lick up all blood before returning to the wound where he placed his lips around it and with a small suckle, it popped back open. The addictively sweet blood spilled into his mouth as he drank from Liam.

Liam's hand on the wall tensed as he dug his nails into it. The second Viktor started to drink from him, that heat returned to his core and clouded his brain. Stubbornly, he fought against the sensation and willed himself to stay conscious. As more blood was drained from him, the more he felt light. Not in the lightheaded sense, more so that all the unnecessary weight was being lifted off of him, and he felt at ease. He heard the cabinets out in the kitchen open and close, Renci must be looked for his table ware. As he heard her plate up the food, the scent of ramen drifted under the door and greeted his nose. His stomach growled in response and Viktor chuckled against his leg as he pulled away, licking the wound. "I drank enough to feel satisfied; the ramen can easily top me off. You on the other hand are still hungry. The wound is sealed now, let's go."

Liam opened his mouth to urge back that his friend should drink until he was full, but Renci called them out for food, which Viktor quickly took advantage of and dashed out of the bathroom, licking the blood from his lips. With a click of his tongue, he shot an annoyed glance at the back of his friend as he stepped into his sweats and followed him out of the bathroom. He closed his eyes and sniffed the air dramatically. "Oh, man, smells great." His eyes opened and saw Renci in his fridge, looking for drinks. "Sorry, Ceecee for making you set dinner up. Next time we can handle it. You're a guest, what type of host would I be to make you do things around here." A small, sad smile pulled at his lips as his eyebrows furrowed.

Viktor was already sitting down at the kitchen island, pulling a bowl over in front of his as he started to twirl noodles around the fork. "I think I still have a two liter of Dr Pappa in there." He informed Renci. "I would like a glass of that."

Renci really did look like she made Liam's apartment her home. She was comfortably moving around the kitchen as if it was her own. Liam sat next to Viktor and watched her. "I'll take a cup of Dr. Pappa as well." Why does it seem like she was truly happy to be here. Ever since the club it felt like she was eagerly wanting to close the gap between them. The cold countertop chilled his elbow has he brought his palm up to his chin. He rested his chin into his hand and studied all their interactions they've had up to this point. The drunken memories coming back now that he is sobered up. The sloppy kiss at the bar, the almost kiss in the car. Normally, he wasn't a drunk kisser but something about her changed that in him. Did she use her powers on him? No, he would've felt in if she did. The only thing he felt was curiosity and the compulsion to close the physical space between them. "Thank you, for helping out. Come sit by me and we can eat." Liam took the moment to slide a bowl in front of the empty seat so she wouldn't have to move it herself. He then slid his bowl closer to himself as he began to eat.

After a while, Viktor place his fork into the empty bowl and sat back, patting his stomach. "Man, I'm stuffed now." A laugh bubbled out of him as he was back to his cheery self. "Alright, I'm ready to finish that movie when yall are done." He pulled out his phone and started to scroll around on social media. Liam side eyed him and chuckled, it was really good to see his attitude go back to normal. A chime sounded as Viktor tapped at his screen to check. "Damn, looks like we have to finish the movie another time. Blake is requesting my help with moving the band equipment, guess they're having a sleepover with their girlfriend and need the space." He got up and slipped his shoes on. "I'll text you when I get over there safe as well as when I get home safe." He held up his hand as a way to say bye when he reached the front door.

Liam held his hand up in the same manner. "Sounds good, be safe, man." The door clicked shut and locked as Viktor turned his copy of the key from the other side. Renci got up to prepare to leave as well and something inside of Liam made him move before he realized it. His hand gently grasped her wrist to stop her in her tracks. He was fully sobered up now with food on his stomach. "It's okay, we can finish the movie together. I like what I've seen so we can rewatch it with Viktor next time. Please, stay." His eyes looked up to her and held her stare, his puppy dog eyes in full bloom.
