it's there because that is the way it is in the original manga. u never see usagi (serena) wear her reading glasses (or the little goggle things as sailor moon) in the anime at all. she has both for the first few manga chapters. the english version removed the 'make-up' part from the transformation for whatever reason. i've stopped wondering why they butchered the series so.

my theory about the whole "make-up" thing is that...

1. people/parents might have thought the show was being sexist, having a bunch of girls running around yelling about make up.
2. it just sounds kinda funny "Moon Prism Power-Make Up!"

What's with everyone saying it's 'deadly scream'? Last I checked, the Japanese katakana for the attack is デッドスクリム (dead scream) and she also says it that way if you actually listen to the Japanese voice track. Subtitles often try to make things sound better and are rarely, if ever, 100% accurate.
