It sounds to me like a classic case. Your situation is a lot like the situation I have with one of my friends. I'm the 'preppier' girl in the group and she's the 'emoer' girl. I used to try to be emo to fit in. I even cut my hair to be real short. It just caused me to be in a lot of pain (mentally and physically x_x). What you should do is explain to her that you love her no matter how she likes to dress or what her hair is like or what she likes to talk about. And you mentioned that she forces herself to talk about death right? Well why don't you try to do her a favor and return the favor by talking about what she likes to talk about. It may strain both of you but in the end I'm sure it will be worth it. Why throw away a good friend? Who cares who's a poser and whose real? Why not just try to get along and figure out a solution for everyone so you'll all be happy? Sit down and have a long talk with your friend. Tell her everything that's bothering you about her trying to be emo. Ask her why she's doing it and if its making her happy. Tell her to be absolutely honest and that you won't be angry with an answer that you don't like. Tell her that you won't talk to her any less or anything like that if she's just herself. Tell her that you like her being herself more than her being emo. Tell her all this, instead of wasting your time on a forum that she'll never see. And good luck! ^-^

Did you ever explain to her that what she is doing is wrong or she's being a "poser"? Are you good friends with her if yes, you should understand she just want to fit in and she wants to be good friends with you or I think that you're her role model.
First thing is what is a "poser" and what does it really mean?
We all know that it's a slang to say you're copying someone else's style or subculture, i guess i could say.
SO why you people call yourself an "EMO" or considering yourself an emo. Are you some genre of music or being some legion of doom, legion of emo's my bad.
The only thing that i know about emo or why i join this guild is not the culture is the music. I enjoy the music and that's it. Not to criticize people or emitting other people. I myself and I'm glad i am.
You're "friend" is maybe confuse that the fact you're guys dress the same way or being depress and all she want do is to be like you guys, just to fit in. There are SO many people who just want to fit in and eberybody should know that.
