I think in the grand scheme of things, there is no real why, other than chance...
But I'm not satisfied with that.
And I don't want to turn to religion.

Like I said, opposable thumbs, ideals, the ability to create... all of which leads to opposing ideals.

But why did we develop opposable thumbs? The ability to reason? To judge?

Because we did, because we needed it.

There are so many things in this world that I just don't understand.
Sometimes I think we'd be better off as animals.

Why are there criminals?
Why is there prejudice?
Why politics?
Why money?
Why anything?

I feel like human life is so unnecessarily advanced. I wonder about what life would be like had we not evolved.

Does anyone else ever feel this way?

Criminals- People with mental disorder or cant or wont get a job
Politics- If we didn't have politics things would be without order
Money- It motivates us to work if we didn't we wouldnt have food, products, or technology

Well, here's why your opinions are wrong.

Criminals- Disobedience stemming from distaste for the common law, ignorance of the common law, and the part you got right- a mental disorder, sociopathy.
Politics- Used to set laws to prevent injustices--order can be obtained without a political system
Money- The reason we have money is simply because the feudal system left a large gap between the peasants and the royalty. Bartering made it very easy to decieve the lesser-educated (read: illiterate peasants), money, however, helped to balance it out by creating a middle class, the burghers or the bourgeoisie.

That has no factual basis whatsoever.

Prejudice- broken down, it means "A state of judging before". Just because some ancient woman ate a fruit doesn't cause everyone to judge people before getting to know them. Prejudice comes from the innate psychological/sociological instinct to label things, to make things easier for our brains to understand.

The prejudice that Intuicide was speaking of, I believe, is prejudice used with a dash of ignorance, which is a product of relying on instinct too much, and not applying common sense.

Criminality, I've already covered in my last post.

In no sociological context does it make sense that the actions of one determine the actions of many, particularly not with such a large procession of time.

Now, your "woman eating a fruit in the Bible" tale could be true if your God is a wrathful God, however, I've heard otherwise.

Intuicide, that'll be all from you. I'm not going to penalize you twice for unnecessarily cruel speech in the same topic, I'll give you one warning for it.

You cannot go off spouting insults about religions without factual evidence. You can't prove with facts that there is no God/god/are no gods/Gods, so avoid that.

What particularly bothers me is the "I want you dead" comment. That's unacceptable for so many obvious reasons, I won't bore you with the details.
