lol dude i know..i was referring to you telling her that scene kids look the same..i was just citing goth and emo as examples..well maybe i was wrong with giving goth as an example cuz they arent as popular as emo these days..but i am sure that emo's are practically all over and do look almost exactly alike..

It's not personal individuality that they're striving for- they're going for a group that's different from what's regarded as the "mainstream". So it's moreso the group they're part of that's different from the rest of the groups around them.

In layman's terms, the object is to form a counterculture instead of a subculture.
