Do you get embarrassed when your fellow atheist makes an a*****e of him/herself?
  Yes.
  No.
I just pretend like I don't know him/her. Then I slowly make my exit.
I defend my atheism while pointing out how much of an a*****e this person is.

They take the bible metaphorically because... I don't know. They do. (Most) Catholics try to live a healthy balanced life somewhere between faith and science. Scientific evidence proves the Earth is much older than 6,000 years, and there's significant evidence of evolution. Therefore, the creation story isn't to be taken literally. That's how they see it. I don't know why. I was just saying that the chick didn't even bother looking up exactly how Catholics interpret the bible.

One of the better instances of that balance I've heard is that evolution, the big bang, and the like are all true, but that ultimately, God was the catalyst for everything, and he just kinda left it up to random chance, aside from those biblical instances of divine intervention.

Not beleiving a lie and sucking on another is like beleiving a lie and ignoring proof. You'll still end up with a bunch of nitwits and assholes.

No. This man is NOT Hitler. He is something far worse, something far more sinister.

Pope Benedictus XVI is Darth Sidious. Yeah, Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars. The first time this was brought to my attention, I almost soiled myself, and I'm not even joking.

You don't even have to photoshop this guy to make him look scary.

There's one of him stepping down off a plane ramp with his big cloak billowing behind him, this sinister look on his face. Wish I coulda found it...absolutely creepy.

Yes, people who believe in God are living their lives based on an illusion, but if their belief makes them content, I don't see why they should be told to stop, because we certainly have a right to be content in the security we feel knowing that our lives are in our own hands as opposed to that of an omnipotent being.

But even religious modesty is breeding ground for extremism.
Most of the Muslim population is sane.
Do you think those terrorist would've attacked on 9/11 if they
didn't believe that they were doing Allah's will?
They believed in the literal word of the Qu'ran.

Religion in all forms, should be eradicated.
Does Religion not state that it has 'answers' for everything;
The beginning of life, How we should live, And the end of life?
If the true answers lie elsewhere, why should we give token to religion?
Religious modesty is breeding ground for extremism.
