If you ask me I really dont believe in the real world because its basically the same thing as high school just with different people and more stuff and you are responsible for all of the money issues and that in itself is hard. I know its hard for me. As long as there is a roof over my head and I have food to eat I will be happy with my life and I am in college right now, I was in the military I thought it would make things simpler and it did for awhile but most of the people in the military just wanted to find ways to be fricken nosy in my life and I hated it.

Reality is a b***h. When you turn that magical age that makes you an "adult", you'll see that no one could give a crap whether you lived or died. If you have the money... you live. If not, you die. Simple as that. No sane adult would care about their dreams...
Or maybe I'm being a tad bitter. XD

Well you should know that reality is all around you if you've lost your father. What I ponder about is what exactly is the real world? When we have to deal with taxes? When we have to work for a living? I don't think so. You start realizing that everything in this world is reality when you start thinking for yourself. Even in school, there are shootings, drug abuse, rape, etc.
I know how you feel and I'm sorry for your loss; I've lost both my parents. I still consider myself lucky though. I have a great life, even though I see the world a lot more clear now.

I agree with you both on this one Frozen and Smurfie, because it's true. In high school most people tend to thing it's all fun and games and they don't realize that once you graduate from there, your friends don't care anymore. College it the same way. The point of college is to learn how to do your desired job. Truth is. No one cares about college either. You just need a piece of paper saying you went to school. College is an eye opener for what the real world is like afterwards. It's a scary fact to face.
I'm now working full time and I don't know how people can find time for romance, clubbing, hanging out with friends, sleep, groceries. Hell I can't even figure out how I'm making ends meet with my bills while I support my family on top of it all. It's not as easy as even the movies make it look.

Rightj now I'm borderline with entering the "real world" I'm getting my fist car at 6 months befor my 18th Birthday. I'm excited and all about that even though I know to have a car you need money to pay for the ever increasing amount of gas and for everyday thing that happen with a car. Also I WILL be moving out when i'm 18 I'm tired of relying on my parents for anything (not like they do much anyway) But I am aware of what life has to throw at me. Idk it's gonna be tough seing as I'm a drop out with a GED.

when school life end, reality punches you in the face (more like capitalism puches you but anyway)
you gota take all you can from your school days to be able to live later on life. i'm not saying work like a moron, i mean, know, learn, understand, like if you'll ever use trigonometry in your life, harvest what you need
besides that, life is real, from mark zero till' death.

Pancakes...
I'm still in middle school so I haven't really thought about it. But my brother is doing his exams and after that, he has 2 months free time and I then realised my brother needs to start taking part-time jobs. Then it hit me. I really should stop spending as much I do and think about my life after I finish school. But I haven't really had much experiences so it hasn't really got me ticking yet. All my friends are having late nights, having fun, being a teenager! So should I really start thinking about the future? Meh. I'll start when I'm around my brother's age or something xD. All I have to do is concentrated at my school ife I guess. I'm already getting 'okay' marks so yeah >__<
So sorry that your dad passed away sad I have both my parents together so I have no idea what's it like. ...are Yummy

Reality takes place every moment in our lives. Sorry to hear the unfortunate news, but one needs to pick themselves up if they hope to make something of themselves in this world of both believers and non-believers.

I think reality is hard but you need to face it sooner rather than later otherwise I think it can be harder for some. I am 22 and am working to provide a life for my fiance and myself, it is alot different from the schoolyards and I can only say work hard and play strong.

As far as working I have a job right now and I'm a Senior in high school. But as far as talking about working, paying my own bills and supporting myself that thought is really scary. It's overwhelming because finding a job after college is hard. You can't just go out and get a job anymore.

Im going into 8th grade and i dont think i could survive in the real world. If its anything like the news im happy to stay in my house and not leave. I dont want to become an adult because i wanna be a teen but i know you have to grow up and move on with life. I wish that your dad could still be with you. I have never lost someone close to me so i wouldnt know ohow it feels but i can sorta imagine.

I'm extremely scared of going into the 'real world'.
I worry that things are going to be so much harder than they are now, and that I'll never be able to take it or deal with it. School now is easy for me, and I get very good grades, but what about when I leave?
But I'm only 14. Perhaps by the time I get to that age I'll be better off. I hope.
And I'm sorry about your father passing away...my dad died a couple of months ago. I've gotten over it by now, but it's very saddening.
