I would sometimes much rather have the phrase, "An eye for an eye, an arm for an arm, and a leg for a leg." to come into play when dealing with criminals, but society says it is too harsh razz

Yeah, so I'm a bit of an earth/tree lover but I'm telling you, it's not a great feeling when your throat and eyes begin to burn when you step outside.
