Sounds like fun, although I don't really have a need for a cell phone cozy. I made one after Christmas (as a prelude to an ipod cozy)... and I don't use it. It's too inconvenient for me. As is the ipod cozy I made afterwards. I ended up buying a case for my ipod (and it looks like a kitty).
(omg i like parenthesis, lols rolleyes )

I'm all for knitalongs (or crochetalongs!) and I definately think we should try to do one or more. Another benefit is that if you have problems or get stuck, someone else should probably be able to help you!
One recommendation is that they be done with patterns that are free online, so that more people can participate. Making them go buy a book to participate seems silly, and we don't want to get into trouble for copyright violation either.

Another idea might be that we say an item and you can either make up your own pattern, or find one yourself.
I say this mostly because I'm a freeformer, and I can't read a pattern to save my life.
It will also give more interesting results.

I say... that we pick some thing 'basic' enough that you could make it withought a patern, but at the same time have a patern for what ever it is we'er making, so you can ether make it that way or your own way. also if we are EVER going to do it, we have to pick somthing to make. so what do you think it should be? socks? gloves? a stuffed bear or toy? myself I vote that we make a toy of some kind, but I'll make what ever we end up deciding on. 3nodding

I'm going to have to agree with Firrantello. I'm pretty good considering I only learned to knit five months ago, but I'm not ready to try fingers or gussets yet (I don't have anyone to help me, and I learn best by watching). The bag is a good idea--beginers can try knitting in the round, and more advanced knitters can try out color patterns and stuff like Fair Isle.

I'm not saying that you should not use a patern... I was just saying that if you really don't want to use one, you don't have to. I guess the bag could work... about when do you think we should start. I think we should give our selfs a little wile till we start so people can get what they need, and to see the thread so they know whats going on.

That's a good idea. I'm moving out of my dorm this week, so things are a little crazy right now. Unfortuneatly, I'll be going back home to dial up internet, which kinda hates Gaia, so I don't know if I'll be able to take part. I'm going to have to go to the library for all of other posting stuff, but people might get mad if I sit at the computer and knit.

LadyAnubis That's the problem though. Backwoods dial up+tons of gaia graphics=crashed computer. And that's not an exageration. Most browsers have an option where you can turn off the graphics. If you're familiar with Gaia enough, you should know which buttons are which... even if you can't read what's on them anymore. sweatdrop (also, if you hover your mouse above a broken image, it should tell you what the link leads to or what it does.)

I'm learning that internet explorer doesn't like gaia at all, at least on my computer.
