The Hunter Clan Casino (An RP)

Krinna almost fired off another arrow, but paused and flicked her ears. Over the yelling associated with the riot, someone was shouting something about a bomb.

What was that? Cover- Then she saw the bomb. Pink? Oh, d-

In her place on the shelf, Krinna put away her bow and arrow and ducked her head down. She put her front paws over her ears, folding them down, and then wrapped her tail over that as well. She didn't know what the bomb would do, but figured that since it was pink it was likely evil.

after a few moments, which for those covering their ears seems to be a lengthy amount of time, Aashar twitches the pink object.

suddenly ther is a loud BOOM. the people who covered their ears hear it about as loud as though someone had landed heavily. those who didn't cover their ears are knocked temporarily deaf. no-one is moved bodily, but almost everyone in the room (and on the room above) is startled.

the rioters stop as though frozen.

Aashar puts the pink noisemaker back in his bag and, as people are regaining their hearing, says in an even tone, "Do I have everyone's attention?"

"Fish an' chips, that was annoying!" Krinna muttered to herself. she sat back up and glanced around without any luck to see if she saw Nia, then looked to see what was up with the guy who was trying to get everyone's attention.

still speaking in an even tone, Aashar addresses the crowd. "may I ask what started this altercation?"

one of the more aggravated brawlers reasponds, rather loudly, "we want them to stop cheating us out of our money!" which is followed by a slightly hesitant round of "yeah"s from the group

after a moment of thought, Aashar asks "which table were they cheating you at?"

another of the crowd yells "All of them!" the following round of agreement threatens to send them back into the "protest" when Aashar raises his voice a bit.

"I would not reccomend trying again, I might break your eardrums next time." which settles the crowd back down.

Aashar then walks over to one of the roulette tables, the table host appears to have gotten a black eyeduring the fight. "if you would, good sir, please spin the roulette." Aashar says in his even, controlled voice.

the man spins the roulette, drops the ball in, and lets it spin out.

Aashar watches the roulette with an eye that a few in the crowd notice seems to miss nothing. as the ball lands on the 8 (black) one guy in the crowd says "it just couldn't land there when I was betting on it, kept landing on reds."

Aashar then raises his head and addresses the crowd again. "I see nothing that could be used to cheat you. Are there any who would argue with me?

Krinna sat with her tail over her front paws. She still didn't see Nia.

"Who are you, anyway?" she called out. She wasn't entirely sure that he had definitively proven that there couldn't be any cheating going on, and she wondered if he worked for the casino or was just some kind of vigilante.

looking around, Aashar finally notices that the one speaking was the cat on the shelf.

" I am called Aashar. what may I call you?"

most of the crowd, being residents of Byako, are unfazed that the only one to speak up is a cat. the majority follow the convesation trying to figure out who the heck the white clad guy was.

"You may call me Krinna. I'd tell you what you may not call me, but then you'd be tempted to use it."

She ran one paw over an ear, a gesture not terribly unlike a humanoid person scratching their head. "Let me rephrase the question: Who do you think you are?"

The little cat ended with a motion of waving a paw in Aashar's general direction. Her tone had a bit of... cattitude in it, but really soundd a bit more amused than annoyed.

Aashar grins a little at Krinna's attitude, and says "I think I am Aashar. If you are asking why I took it upon myself to end the upset, it is because the kind mushroom headed individual that greeted me upon arriving in this city asked me to. I also think I am qualified to guage whether or not a roulette table is being used to cheat because I used to play a bit, and I have yet to succesfully be cheated, though many attempts have been made. I only arrived in the last twenty minutes, did I step on a taboo?"

the crowd that wasn't participating in the altercation slowly drifts back to what they were doing before it started. a few of the larger individuals seem to have taken it upon themselves to ensure that those involved don't wander off, not that any of them are trying to just yet.

Krinna washed a little between the toes of her arrow-paw, and replied in a relaxed manner. "I don't know what's taboo in this city, either, though I begin to suspect that perhaps nothing is. I've only been here for a couple days, myself."

Aashar looks thoughtful for a moment, then says "Then I don't suppose you know what the protcol is for turning rioters over to the responsible authority? because I know that people who are foolish enough to get angry that they lost money while betting against the odds are usually foolish enough to riot repeatedly."

at this many of the rioters start looking anxious, whether because they know what comes next or because they don't isn't readily acertainable. the few who think to try to remove themselves from the vicinity take one look at the large individuals that stand nearby and quickly give up the thought.

"Responsible authority, hmm? According to what I understood from my guide, the main authority here rests with the clans. One of them owns this casino, doesn't it?"
Krinna flicked an ear and looked to a nearby dealer, who nodded.

one of the crowd pipes up " other than the plushies, I don't think anyone's in charge."

looking mildly confused, Aashar asks "plushies?"

"yeah, they're natives to the city. several people turn juristictional questions over to them"

looking slightly more understanding, "and how would one go about contacting these 'plushies'?"

"The plushies are in charge?" Krinna mused with a flick of her tail. "I did see some working in a restaurant...? Oh, wait... I think the person in charge there might have been plush, too. Almost everything there was plush."  

[Sou Jara]

"Not exactly."
Nia said as she returned to the Casino lobby from the upstairs.
"The curent mayor of the city, Tanya has a large pull among the Plushie citizens, many of which desired to get jobs in civil service to support her.
Many officers of City watch, city construction crews and other public services are manned by plushies."
Nia coughed politly.
"However they are mearly one demogrpahic in the city and hardly its rulers."

turning to the "newcomer", Aashar asks "then they are or are not the ones to turn this over to?"
