I'm thinking of scaling credits afforded per-person.
Say, a certain number per-year you've been around, or a general a larger number dependent upon how many characters and events I know you've participated in...stuff like that.

I think no more than 500 credits is a fair cap. No less than 100, or it wouldn't be much of a gift.

Still working on the creative side of this, though.

First question, then. Should the skills be taken from the skill list, or should they be more custom and variable? ^^

The main skill is custom stuff, like...a skill you develop through increased familiarity with using your power, an evolution of the power,that sort of thing. All custom.
Also, though, skill-list abilities you have that relate to your evolution (Say, Agi skills if you were an Infernal Persona-User, the example we mentioned last night) become modified as well. Customized, so to speak. Slightly more powerful with a hint of superficial customization. (Say, Maragidyne becomes Magna Maragidyne, a slightly more powerful Maragidyne that appears as an eruption of molten rock from beneath the earth around the battlefield.)

That's just for your basic, skill list skills.
You do get something full custom, too. Though obviously, it's got to relate to the path your skills are evolving.

Say, if Rednal were to go from "Persona-User" to "Radioactive Persona-User" or some other such cool sounding, Nuclear-related evolution...he would develop a unique skill based on the natural development of his abilities. A combination Nuclear-Persona ability, like...a nuclear-powered persona-fist. Or a combination of a nuclear attack and a physical strike from Rednal simultaneously. Think of them as...a skill developed through experience in your fighting style.

You still have the same general powers you had before...only you're better with them now. You're innovating a new technique based on them.

And through experience, the skill list abilities related grow stronger, too.
